I am reducing off the stuff now. I was on 90 mils I am down to 40. I have not used anything for about 6 months. All the heroin etc is fake rubbish and I was so done with it all. So here I am been doing great. I dropped 90 to 70 with no problem then 60 for one month 50 40 with really no withdrawal one night I forget to take and woke up at 6 am with restless leg but that was it been easy so far. But I am worried what it will be like when I am off all of it. As even 5 mils will cloud your thinking some. So hopefully by X mas I will be a free man. For anyone out there wanting to stop heroin. Methadone can work if you do it right. But I would try rehabs first detox etc. As when you go on this stuff it's not a quick process and can take years but a life of addiction is not a quick process either. At least on this you are not ratting and having to buy heroin or the utter garbage they call it now it gives you a base to build from. You can use that base as a safety net and keep using and lots do that or you can do it right and get off the junk. Peace.

And it was a slow down hill spiral from them on i never injected until I was 30 then done real damage to the viens and stopped using for years then relapsed again i have always had long periods of staying clean to get healthy. But i am getting old now and I understand that I dont have time for chasing h or relapsing again. This is it last chance saloon. I am 41 I ain't wasting what little remains of my youth and health. So I have been doing great I go for walks feed the birds try eat fruit etc just small steps at a time. You need to go back to the basics imo. Get up and washed go for a walk you need to enjoy the simple things in life. So thanks for the support. And great job yourself getting off the stuff. How are you doing now?

Congradulations Jerick, I have been on and off the Done for over 50 years now,76 years old now and on Suboxone for 10 years ,i couldn't put up with the ;Joneses' off methadone any more and found Suboxone much better to do maintanance on, I have 4.00mgm's a day,fuck all in what i have been used to takeing during my years as an addict,not saying it's perfect but a lot smoother than Done and also helped with my craveings, if things go pear in the future,consider a low dose of 'Subbies',Ive have resigned to being on it for the remainder of my life.Good luck my friend

I’m not talking a lot but some is better than nothing when I wasn’t getting sleep at all. Then after the second month my sleep was much better. I’m now 3 years methadone free and sleep like a rock. Thank you man, you are a real gem. Your story is powerful and the fact that you were willing to share it and upload it to the world is truly amazing. It is crazy how emotional I am because of the methadone… I think highest dose was 80mg’s for 5 years, and jumped off at about 23mg… I had so many complications while tapering, along with residual anger from not being educated about this medication… I am on day 17, and I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I already know this may have been my greatest decision to get off. Positive vibes your way 🤙🙌💪

I just saw your reply. hope all is well.i take methadone initially to get off pills but mainly it was my only option in2116 when the dea cut off opiods being that my pmp report from the pharmacy showed every narcotic script filled i used that to my advantage andbegan a mat program just to get methadone because i have severe neuropathy very badly and between the methadone and xanax it dulls the pain.and my pcp at that time was so against narcotic s and benzos even though all the specialists i saw put meon them.im 61.gd shape i can only walk abput 30 min a day I live in waterbury ct.

I'm on 2mg a per day tapering from 60mg. I should be dead. It sucks man, it really makes you feel like shit for soooo long. It's been almost 10 months since I started tapering. I'm almost free.

I saw your video my friend and had to join the comments. I will be 58yo next month. 9 years now on methadone. Highest was 65mg for first year. Been on 20mg now for 7 years. Went down to 10mg 3 years ago but started eating xanax like crazy, so they asked me to go back up to 20mg. I would love to get off completely because of a few side effects i hate. But man a year now and you are still struggling through it! That is exactly what scares the crap out of me. At my age i cant afford to lay in bed for a year or more struggling with paws. I am so on the fence about what to do. Maybe you can explain some of those "aids" you used to me. I just know I will need serious help if I am going to struggle that long. @moeywill yeah…Xanax is no good for anyone I know. Please know that I was not in bed for a year. I was in bed for the the first month…maybe two. I started feeling better the 3rd-4th month. I feel great now and am three years methadone free! The aids were personal choices that I can’t recommend to anyone as I am not a doctor. It was entheogenic in nature though. Dr. Don't understand how pain effect people and how one needs the pain to stop, the pain ends up giving ones PTSD. Sorry you went through that. One ends up being a statistic. Telling there side , glad your doing better .that for telling us your side.
I'm 30years on the shit here in Dublin Ireland I'm a month n a half gave it up to see my son,pls ppl stay away from heroin and methadone it's a fuckin rough journey that gets worse but hopefully in the long run it will get better 🙏 because it's exhausting on your body 😢

@@ellen9925 First of all, congratulations!! The first year was the hardest part for me. You rock! Gastrointestinal, energy and sleep were a bit all over the place. This year beginning my 4th year methadone free, I am realizing that everything had to wake up and get settled. At this point things are great but after that first year my body was still trying to acclimate to the change off methadone. I kept busy when possible. I’m proud of you and I hope you keep truckin’!! Hi fitz I've made it to 7 months off methadone and FINALLY things are started to get alot better. I swear my paws peaked out around 6 months in. It was like each month the fog lifted and my mind came back but this made me feel the symptoms more in a way. my bad days now are not really that bad anymore and getting easier to ignore symptoms. starting to actually enjoy thigs again. I do feel the paws very mild lingering but I can finally block it out. My mornings are the worst part of the day but after a few hours things improve. Just wanted to share that I'm at the tail end of this I think, I dont want to be too confident since Ive had days where I thought I was doing great only to get blind sided with a wave of paws but lets hope things keep improving from here.

Listen man I was on 120mg February 13th June 19th was my last dose I dropped 120 mg in 5 months I started going down 5mg a week then I dropped to 10mg a week my last 3 doseses were by 5mg it’s June 23rd and I feel ok I get symptoms here and there more when I lay down to sleep what you have to understand that it’s a physical thing but if you prepare your self mentally and please work out through it all everything should be just fine I’m glad I got my life back the joy I feel of not having to be tied down by that shit is amazing if I can do it then you can good luck everyone
I was on 60 three weeks ago. Now down to 20. Hopefully 0 in two more weeks. I don’t understand why people drag it out. Can’t wait to get off this horrible stuff.

@@FitzSchlitz I’ve been upto 100ml which Im told is equivalent to 100mg. We get sugary liquid methadone in UK and someone told me Americans get methadone differently but the measurements are 1 for 1. 20ml is 20mg etc. I was snowballing for 25 years so my habit was bad. But I never understand how people struggle reducing from high amounts? Im not knocking anyone, but for me I could drop from 100 to 90 and not even notice. It only hurts when you’re down under 20ml, then I have to slow down and reduce 2ml at a time. This methadone has destroyed teeth and I’m sure my bones are cracking because of 10yrs on Methadone. I can’t wait to be clean and smell the fresh air, enjoy food. Maybe even have a normal Libido again. Methadone is toxic.
@@FitzSchlitz My messages get deleted. I went upto 100ml. Apparently americans don’t use ml but I’ve been told 100ml is 100mg. I occasionally drank 200-300ml which is 200-300mg I think. That amount made me feel great. I snowballed (speedball, crack n heroin) For 25yrs. My point is, I find it easy to drop 10ml and not even feel it. 3 or 4 days later do another drop of 10ml. The only time I would slow down is when you get down to 20ml because a 10ml drop there would hurt. So slow down at 20ml. Im dropping to 15ml right now so hopefully it will be painless. Also I go on 3 walks a day for a hour each. It helps use up that energy we get in our legs. Like your legs will ache anyway so why no exercise and it actually aches less. I get bad sleep but compares to ‘cold turkey’ this is easy.
@@FitzSchlitz It wont let me reply. I started on 100 and it’s been 10yrs. But I’ve been snowballing for 25yrs. I only stopped because all my surface veins collapsed. I don’t like the groin cos I seen to many cripples from missing the groin. Stuck a snowball in my c0ck once because I couldn’t find a vein.
Was on 100ml. I snowballed for 25yrs. I’ve got off methadone before a couple of times. Walking and healthy eating seems to be making this rapid reduction a lot easier.

Dude!!! Let me tell you , I have been on and off methadone for 25 years (1999) I have detoxed off 120 cold Turkey 3 times and a few times off of like 40 , big difference . I am now on 165 and about to be detoxing at the clinic ( Hope they even have a financial detox) . Plus a Benzo ( klonopin ) addiction and added all so this is all kinds of fucked up , but I am really thinking about stopping everything

Man yea I was on it for bout a month. Doing both meth and H. Once I was off of H I was so tired, no appetite, and nauseous all the time smh so I had to get off that methadone. Hopefully the suboxens will work better. I’ll be on it in bout a week. Pray for me that I’ll be able to get off the H. I will definitely pray for you.

It took me 18 months before I could sleep properly. I was on 30 ml for 15 years.

Pregabalin works great with opiete withdrawall it will take away 90.percent of symptoms if any one is looking for less painfull withdrawal

@@FitzSchlitz I was only taking pregabling for maybe 6 or 7 days highest dose was about 900 mils 3 times a day but took a test dose of 100 mill just to see how I would respond to it but my personal experience i did not enjoy pregabalin but it did help me through withdrawal as we know going through withdrawal is pure hell .

I tapered down 1mg a month from 170 until i got to 1 then i did half of 1 then did half of that. I had no withdrawal when i quit. 2 months off and i feel good and sleep great. The only things i deal with now is not being so skinny. Ive always been skinny now i feel fat. Not sure if that will go away or this is just how it is now. I also got a lot of chest/back acne after quitting.

So I've just completed a change from 75ml methadone to buvidal monthly injection bruprenorphine but I'm in the uk bro I did it in a detox hospital got home Friday but I'm still feeling withdrawal which I shouldn't be

They need to prepare people clinic and Dr said we don’t really know because not many come off it. I was on 120 mg and tapered down for 3 1/2 years to 3 mg came off. I went monthly is why my taper took so long. I’ve been off it 8 days and for me feeling bad comes in waves. I wish I had prepared I’ve missed 4 days of work last week. Work next week is my biggest worry. I was on it 11 years total and I think tapering of course helps withdrawals but you’re still going to have some no matter what. Methadone is evil and I hate it no matter what I’m going to keep going

Thank you for the kind words:) I’m actually hanging in been living life as normal my sleep is way off but from what I hear that’s what lasts the longest. You should be so proud of yourself. I’m quite sure you have come a long way and will continue on. It was so encouraging to see someone make it through this. I have decided unless I’m incoherent I’m never taking as much as a pain pill. Most people didn’t know I was on it so trying to act normal the last 2 weeks has been challenging but staying busy helps.

Thanks brother I got no support hear at my house my wife dose not use anything she is an awesome one man takes the best care of our house and the kids I have been roofing for the past 15 years before that I was in the labour union working on bridges and overpasses my body take a beating but I’m still roofing I came down 5mg today so I’m at 105 what is a better option should keep coming down or just stop all at once this is my 8th year on the program thanks for talking to me brother ✌️🇨🇦

When I was on 160, I dropped 40… felt ok at 120… gave it a month or two and dropped another 40. When I hit 80 mgs… I could tell things were getting uncomfortable. That was my baseline. It’s different for everyone and I’m not telling you what you should do, I’m telling you what I did and am considering the ratios between my 160 and your 110. No medical advice given for I am not a doctor! Just throwing that out there. Lol lmk how you are doing man and I hope your next roof is a ranch with a 6-8 pitch. Yeah I experience everything you're talking about I I know everybody is different but I can't relate to your story I went through the same thing and I'm still going through it it's my 10th day now I stayed on what milligram for 2 weeks and I'll let go and it was the biggest mistake the first 3 days was hell then I started taking Motrin and I got a little bit better but it was every time I took the Motrin so I stopped it and the hell came back but I did experience everything you send it's something so weird it's emotional as depression is everything mixed together nobody should go through this not even my worst enemy thank you for your story it helps to talk about it with other people.

The worst already is gone I still feel like tired and with lack of motivation my question is how long can it last to be normal again like I have weakness in my back hurts like I still having trouble coping with life also what you said in the other video about the teeth and the way that happened to me as well I gained weight for the first time in my life and right now I'm going through a lot of dentist appointments to do a lot of feelings it was the longest three years of my life they said that 3 years was too short for me to get off of methadone that had to be there for longer but I just decided to let go .
