How I prune Adenium Obesum / Desert Roses

- This is how I prune my Adenium for more branching. I use super glue gel to seal wounds. I don't recommend cinnamon. It leaves terrible stains and is not needed.
These were pruned in spring so many look rough from winter. I only prune when they are showing signs of new growth. I prune anytime Spring-Summer when they are actively growing. I do not prune in the fall-winter unless necessary due to branch rot, which is rare.
Update: Gorilla glue is just a bit annoying to peel off later vs regular super glue. Use regular. I may try candle wax next.
This is the best video I’ve seen on pruning a Desert Rose! Not a lot of useless prologue, the camera actually shows the nodes and the text explaining why you cut where is simple. Thank you! 😊
The comment about the sap being toxic is a bit frightening. Could you tell me more?
May i ask how many days does it require before peeling off the glue
The cuts you made, are those tips usable for propagation? Or would that require more of the hardwood part of the plant?
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I'll have to go shopping before I prune, but at least now I feel a bit more confidant about it! :D
Do u water the plant after pruning
Hi, after flowers bloomed and dropped off, do i have to prune again? And where to cut it? Thanks.
Thanks, great tutorial… What time of the year is best? I live in sub tropical coastal Australia. Can I repot at the same time?
After pruning, do you fertilize? what kind of fertlizer do you use?
