    Several things I want to touch on bases off this video. I own one and it’s like yours is extremely accurate by far more accurate then I am. Mine is a newer model date code CB and the finish although great has definitely chipped pretty bad on the deflector. The front pin is a pain to put back in… as for the internal components being proprietary isn’t much of a concern. Sure parts maybe harder to come by and not interchangeable but why would you want to interchange them to begin with. HK parts are ages ahead of 99.9% of competitors not only that but the internals will out live whatever round count you can put through this thing….

    Man I was so happy to hear you say that about the Geissele trigger because I could not tell if I was tweakin or not but I didn’t feel much difference in the pull weight. It’s a much cleaner break but I wasn’t satisfied because I have other Geissele triggers and was comparing it to those. I called Geissele twice asking if there was some way they could improve it but all they could come up with was a $12 spring kit which I installed but a still didn’t get the results I was looking for. My problem is at 700yds I felt the trigger was not light enough for me to hit a torso almost everytime I was hitting about 40%

    • @mariotorano3781
      @mariotorano3781 Год назад +1

      Hey now I forgot to mention I am 40% on a torso sized target @ 700yds but that is using the cheapest ammo I can find which is 147gr Armscore and the misses are me not the rifles fault for sure. The MR762A1 is extremely accurate definitely more accurate than me.

    • @seanoneil277
      @seanoneil277 Год назад

      @@mariotorano3781 That Armscor seems more like near-distance (100yds and in) training ammo. Never shot it myself but my .308 bolt gun has run a lot of different commercial loads, just out of curiosity. With a single rare exception the 147gr and 150gr loads aren't dependable even at 300yds for me. But good to learn the trigger pull, etc. Do yourself a favor and get some 168gr or 175gr of the kinds NAVYMAN suggested if you want to reach out 300+.

    Why would those be the only 3 AR10s worth having? Theres a whole bunch of them like the ADM. Heck, the old Sig 716 piston version is definitely worth having and i know that for sure because I have one and its quite accurate. Its extremely similar to the HK 417 honestly. Supposedly it was designed by one of the guys who designed the 417.
    Love your content but I think a more accurate statement would be those are the only 3 AR10s worth having if you want to flex. I think at a certain point we get to a place where we're just spending money for the sake of it.

    I’ve heard/seen the LWRC AR10’s are legit. I’ve got about 0.01% experience with AR10’s, let alone LWRC’s, but I do have two LWRC rifles, my SIX8 Razorback II, and my M6 IC-E which has been absolutely amazing and phenomenal with only a couple “failures” in just about 3500 rounds, which isn’t a lot I know, but was all ammunition related i.e. the ammunitions fault. So the LWRC AR10’s are definitely cheaper than H&K and Knights, but probably closer to LMT’s AR10 prices I imagine.
    Anyways, good stuff once again my eventual fellow Veteran, I appreciate your videos and content my friend.

Personally I love the mayflower triple magazine shingle they used to make for the 417. Tough to find but the best option for a carrier out of everything I’ve tried. As for suppressor use, I run a RC2 and added a waffenburke AGB and it runs really well. Could be worth checking out if your still trying to tune your Mr for your suppressor. Usually there’s guys on Pro selling them for MSRP (500ish USD).

    Fun Fact: Battle rifles don't need to be full auto. Rifles that are chambered in a full powered cartridge and have a detachable box magazine are classified as battle rifles and are capable of being DMRs . I don't know if the Canadian FAL meets this definition because its a integrated mag fed by clips but there's an exception to every rule so the HK417 is a battle rifle that can be placed in different roles such as a DMR based on the model. The HK G28 was designed for the DMR role and although it meets the criteria for being a battle rifle, it most likely won't be classified as one because of it design purpose, weight and the precision instruments used with it.

There's a forum thread on the 1:12 twist vs the 1:11 for the MR762. The barrel length kinda makes it a moot point from what the guy was saying. But that said, I would still like to get one to have a backup and test it out. Might only be apparent with the heaviest bullets or the furthest distances.

      Geco bulk has done well in Europe. For precision any sierra load will do, but test few different weights. Dunno about self-defense, it is a 308, pretty much any bullet with 3000J will drop a man. However, for 223 sierras do have expansion but it is not as reliable as gold dot or others alike.

If I have to move with the gun, I'm choosing between my SP5 and SCAR16. No one wants to run with a big heavy battle rifle. I guess what I'm trying to say is the time may be coming that I dump my beloved SCAR17 and pick up one of these to build out for a true DMR role... I'm lucky to have access to a family farm where we can shoot just over 800yd, so I would get to stretch the legs on this.

    the 762 trigger is superior to the 556. i think both of mine are from 2012 0r 2013 id have to dig out the receipts. i like the stock trigger and quad rail. im a real sicko. forgot to mention i practice at 1000yards with my 762 i use smk175 and ppu175match. the ppu isnt bad for the money try a box. i shoot at a few types of paper targets and steel reactive plates. i use the police training silhouettes 21x24in and the slow pistol 50yard paper targets also 21x24in. im not going to go into numbers and brag or tell fish stories but i will say this. i keep all the rounds on paper i usually do 40rds a target and value each shot at a score of 2.5%. on the silhouettes. or add up the score of the numbers with a max score of 400points with 10 being the most points x40rds. the slow fire is a bullseye type target and i try to keep every thing in the black 8in circle. The rifles amazing.

    I had a Sig 716- 16" DMR set up for years.....same engineers blah blah blah as the HK guns, you know the story. I had a Leupold 3-10 mil dot on it like the scopes on the knights O.G. in the GWOT. I shot it out to about 550YDS. in shitty conditions time and time again. It had three gas settings and I ran a Sico hybrid on it. H3 buffer red spring. It was a pussy cat to shoot. It broke my heart after about 5000 rds. when the gas block sheered off two positions one day, I don't know if someone twisted it without the D-tent pressed in while I was busy with something or what happened, but I was left only with the largest gas setting. Sig said they would try to make it right even though they were no longer being sold, but I just traded it to a buddy with an FFL and let him deal with them. They would have probably tried to give me their new gas driven "716Di" and I did not want that anyway. One day if all the stars align I WILL have an HK 417/MR762, because I love my my MR556. I have a shorty 10.4 HK barrel and a Brownells 14.5 heavy for it and it is my favorite gun by a damn big stretch. The hype is real folks. If you DEMAND performance and can afford it, HK is the way.

      I say stick to one or 2 precision cartridges and stack them deep of one lot, so you can create and maintain a reliable dope. The cool gagdety bullets (bergers, tmks) are not good unless you can really justify them. You are not the only one fighting the urge to load / shoot them. But in reality, just building a dope requires quite many shots and so you better be OK with shooting a few.

    My LGS had one of these used recently, a MR762 AND a MR556 came in at the same time! Still over $3k new, I NEARLY pulled the trigger on this but after some research I decided no I don't actually really need a 308 for a while, I don't hunt and I don't do long range stuff, do I still want one? Absolutely. They are bomb proof. Also, the MR556 and this are actually quite a bit heavier than I'd like as well, very thick and chonky forend on these guys, I can tell they are built to take a beating but do I want to be hauling one through the woods for miles, heck no lol. The proprietary mags probably helped sway me in the other direction too....which I ended up just getting a PS90 of all guns so I went totally the opposite direction of a 308 haha! Oh well...My brain is all over the place these days lol.

      @@ryaniam22 I was on the fence for so long about the practicality of the round, kept thinking oh I'll have to stock yet another caliber. Honestly though I see the appeal now after shooting it a bit. So flat, it's like a spicy 22 but I know the ballistics aren't even close. I can nail a 2/3rd ipsc all day at 100 yards with nothing but a pistol red dot on this thing it's crazy accurate and fast follow ups, not that 556 is a ton of recoil to begin with but I get it now. And the gun itself is so light, the ammo doesn't weigh much either. I can carry 150 rounds of 5.7 in a backpack and almost forget it's there. Not even close to the same when comparing 9mm, if you're going to be hiking or carrying a lot for a long distance, I see this as a great shtf type rig if you wanna stay fast and light but it's easy to stuff is a bag and it is easy to conceal if you don't need it. Only thing that comes close to taking up a similar size footprint is a pcc or a folding AR. Ammo is coming down in price a lot now too since it's gaining in popularity. I'm sold on the thing lol.
