Worked - appreciate finding this to the point video. Unfortunately you still have to occasionally adjust this . I rate this Jacuzzi toilet as one of the worst ever, given it’s cost.
yep, you deserve internet points for this - this is the kind of thing that really helps ordinary people out, finding a non-intuitive fix to something that gives you no clue on what its problem is and saving you a lot of headache and some significant coinage ...
This worked!!! Thank you so much!. Please note the the button behind the chrome handle is actually to remove the whole cable box to change the chrome handle if it ever needs to be changed. I thought it did more, you can see how is done on the short reels on Around the House DIY.
You're a lifesaver! If I didn't find a fix for the one good toilet at my workplace, I would have had an emergency, if you will...like that infamous scene out of Dumb and Dumber.
I must congratulate the company who sent me replacement parts for free without question from Georgia to Canada. Kudos for the excellent customer support!
I havr replaced 3 of theae flush bavlves on this same toilet over the past 10 years. And will be once again. For a temporary fix i will do this until.the free replacement part comes in thank you
Could you have installed a universal fluid master kit they sell at Home depot instead of replacing the original and having to do that over again in the future? Seems tedious if this becomes a reoccurring problem.
I thought "Ha! I will just replace the valve!" Not so easy on this toilet as it is an uncommon 3" flush valve. I see one on EBay (without a fill valve) for $97.13, almost the cost of a new toilet. After disassembling the tank guts and discovering a generic replacement parts won't fit, I put it back together with the old parts gave the valve a twist and - viola! - no more sticky fill valve.
Thank you for this. How can you tell where the cylinder needs to be positioned so that the line does not have a kink? I fixed mine once, and it lasted for months; now, all of a sudden it's running again, and I can't seem to find that spot where it will stop again.
You might have to rotate it a bit to find the sweet spot. The key is to keep it free of kinks. If it keeps running because you have a leak, then you are in for a more complicated repair where you have to take the tank off. If it is for SURE the cable, then I'd try a lubricant down around all of the parts and also rotating the cylinder -- give it a few shots in different positions.
The cylinder has two adjusters...the red tabs that slide up and down. I don't understand them, so I read instructions but ended up with them in the middle and they work well for us
Good idea but mine is in already in the optimal position and still hangs up. Wiggling the handle just after a flush is a kludge but I need a fix (for guests, like you said). Do you know of any way to get inside the cable to lubricate it?
Keep trying different positions, even if they look terrible. If those don't take, you may need to get a replacement handle (if it's a spring issue) or flush mechanism (if the cable is kinked). Sorry for your luck on it. These parts don't last forever and I think jacuzzi went through a part revision on the lousy springs on the handles after they recognized that they were not lasting well. Call them and see if you can get a new one.
I tried this fix but no success. A plumber friend happened to be here and looked at it, and said the set screw on the flush handle (inside the tank) was way too tight and holding the valve open.. Loosened it up a turn or two to and no problems for almost 2 weeks now.. Maybe this fix is an option for some of you guys.
We replaced 4 in our house about 8 years ago. We had a "handle does not reset" failure on two. We had an internal seal failure on one. I am no toilet expert across lots of other brands, but I'd put these at-par with other toilets that we've have been in previous homes. Now that the kinks have been worked out, I think they will be good for a decade or two.
Quantum physics has nothing on the mysteries of this toilet's fill mechanisms. I set them in the middle and cross my fingers. It has dual flush, so my guess is that it has something to do with regulating how those levels and fills work.
My toilet won't fill. The center flush valve works perfectly. But the fill valve doesn't operate. I can push the activator down and it fills perfectly but it just barely fills by itself. After about an hour or two, the tank is filled. What is wrong with the fill valve (on the left)?
How do you disconnect that plastic box from the handle assembly? I hit the button and pull but nothing happens, I don't want to break it. FYI my handle is sticking and not resuming to the starting position so it's causing my toilet to run.
Lots of wiggling. It can stick a bit, but with pulling and wiggling, ours have all come out when needed. If newish/under warranty, call Jacuzzi and get a new handle. They were good to work with for us a few years ago.
Make sure that there are no parts visibly stopping movement. It can take more pressure than feels comfortable applying. You should also make sure that you aren't pressing any parts against the tank wall. Sorry for the lack of a magic button or hidden switch -- mine just turn. If you have hard calcification or something that jams it up, you might have an initial break you need to do to get it moving initially.
i have 3 performa's. 2 rotate with top hose position from 3oclock to 5 oclock. however the 3rd (that started leaking recently) would only rotate from 6 oclock to 8 oclock. i could not force it to 5 oclock. took it apart, and realized the top assembly that swizels was assembled incorrectly at factory. the top is held into the bottom by two opposite tabs on the top that fit into a groove on the bottom. in this case if you swivel clockwise to somewhere from 9-11 oclock, the tabs will alight with opposite openings on the bottom, thus the top portion of this assembly can lift out - rotate it 180 degrees, and put it back in - after which the hose position will now swivel 3 oclock to 5 oclock as intended. to be sure you get the top off without breaking anything, i recommend removing the assembly and visually observe the tabs align with the openings.

I'm glad it helped. I have 4 of these toilets, so I get lots of practice fixing them. :)
I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH! Even I, a small woman, tried your instructions. They worked like a charm! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

SAVED ME HOURS OF FRUSTRATING WORK!! THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for the tip! I would not have figured that out! Much appreciated.
I must congratulate the company who sent me replacement parts for free without question from Georgia to Canada. Kudos for the excellent customer support!
After they replaced mine six times. They said no more
I have this exact same toilet - it occasionally hangs - I now have something to look for! Thanks for taking the time to post this!

Thanks for the info. Can the water level inside the bowl be adjusted? increased in my case. Thanks

Yes, I have the same problem with the handle not releasing when the button is pushed. Also my flush valve does not turn like in the video.

I just took that out and put the old type flush kit in it. Much cheaper! Been working good for 6 months

Thank youuuuuuuuuuu!
We had this installed a year or so ago. What I can't figure out is why are there 2 floaters in the tank?

Man I tried it and still no go. Any other suggestions? Thanks

This short video shows it being removed. ruclips.net/video/EG6bPQiwgFU/видео.html
Tried everything I know still having problems with it.
My cylinder wont rotate. Is there a switch or something?

@@aroundthehousediy5124 thanks. I just had to twist harder. Awesome diy.
