  • My Jacuzzi Perfecta SWP2 dual flush toilet made a hissing noise and sprayed from the top of the fill valve. This video shows how the problem is the FLUSH valve (not the fill valve) and goes through a description of how to fix it.

    My issue is the handle has started sticking. So it needs manually lifted and sometimes jiggled too get it to seal. I'm not sure if fixing it is an option. Replacing it definitely. I'll get a new toilet. This one was here when we bought the house. I would never have bought this brand. It's not a quality issue, it's just looks awful.

    Another problem I had with this set of symptoms: the silicone seal under the main cylinder failed and took on water causing it to deform (it filled up like a water balloon). The cylinder is easy to remove. The seal is easy to replace.

    My SWP2's issue is the fill valve, I think. When flushing, either up or down, I get 2 seconds of fill, then 3 or 4 seconds of no fill, then another 2 seconds of fill. Repeat until tank is full, and is all kinds of irritating to hear. If I push the fill valve down until the water returns to the full tank level and let go, it's fine... until the next flush.

      @StanBlueberry I have the same problem. Did you fix it and if so what was it? Thank you.

      @@billburlingame7817 It was the flush valve itself. I put it off a long time since the only way to replace it is to remove the tank. I got the part directly from Jacuzzi long ago, and I've been searching my old emails to see if I could find the specific part number, but coming up empty. Not sure if NuFlush has a compatible replacement part.

    So we have had this toilet for 8 years, it started shutting off the water while refilling, it seems the little cup the float sits in would fill with water raising the float, then the water would slowly drain from that, water back on and repeated until it reached the actual fill level. We tried CLR in the tank etc, didn't seem to help. Now, it no longer does that, but slowly (so slowly) fills...and then keeps running. It seems like the water that keeps running must be going down some "overflow" drain because it can run all night and not fill above the fill line. Anyway, the flapper seats fine it seems, the initial flush is fine if the tank has had enough time to refill. What parts do you think need to be replaced or cleaned or adjusted? Thank you!

      I think you may have a leak between the tank and the bowl. This is a pain and requires removing the tank. This would explain why it wants to refill all the time, no matter the mechanism it's using to refill.
      This is only a guess, but it sounds like you've tried the easy things.

    I have the SWP2XXX model and it refills itself a probably 4-10 times a hour when the water drops about a quarter inch or so on the valve. When you look in the Bowl you can't see the water moving and even when you watch it on the refill valve you can barley see it drop. Any ideas as to where to start? I've replaced the refill valve, and tinkered with the other components, thanks for the advice.

      You can add food coloring to the bowl so you can see the leak better. Is your fill level too high? You might have to lower it a bit. You also might have a float hanging up... you can adjust those my wiggling them on the bar a little and by using the screw. You can also try descaling your tank with vinegar (and scrubbing -- be sure to take the cylinder off, which is easy to do --- rotate and remove then clean the main seals) . If those don't work, you might have to replace the seal under the cylinder. It's a pain, but it fixed the problem for me.

    Where did you buy the flush valve?

      I got it directly from jacuzzi. I am not sure where else they are available, but eBay has always been good for finding parts.

    How did you remove it ?

    • @neildberg
      @neildberg 4 года назад +1

      you have to remove the filler tube in the middle the hard way... Shut off water. Unscrew the long screws that secure the tank. Remove tank. I used an oil filter wrench to get enough torque to get the plastic bolt off the end. It takes a while, but it was the only solution that worked (and it is still working after many months!).

      Neil Berg , thank you ... this is so frustrating... I’ve tried everything... I will try your recommendation

      @@nubiar5 good luck. Get towels for the inevitable drips. It's doable, but it takes a while and you have to have that new seal from Jacuzzi, of course

      Check your fill valve mechanism, I guess. I've not had that issue, but it sounds frustrating.

    Can you manually flush these toilets? Our lever broke and we ordered a new one but it won’t be here for a while

    • @aroundthehousediy5124
      @aroundthehousediy5124  3 года назад

      That's a lousy problem. I'd recommend keeping a set of channel locks near what is left of the handle. That should get you by for a few days until the next arrives. If that breaks the handle until it won't work, you are left with the very manual "pour a bucket of water down the bowl" fix until you get the part.

      In the tank you push in the little clip that attaches the large white box to the handle. You then unscrew the white bolt from the back and the handle comes right out. Jacuzzi should sell the new handles if you can't get one locally.

      I should also mention that my video made it look easy, but it can be a terrible bugger if it has been on a while. I can't the handle off two of my four Perfectas. If you can get it off, reinstall it with lots of petroleum jelly on the post so that it will free in the future.

      Also, the proper way to get off the impossible handle is to pull very hard and wiggle. It takes a minute or two of it coming out very very slowly.
