Line6 Helix Floor Toe switch (Expr1 pedal; the built-in one) repair/fix. Cleaning the switch!
Problem: My toe switch was getting shaky/flaky for a while and then stopped working entirely. It would click, but it would not switch anything electronically.
It turns out that it is a sort of stupid design for a switch that can allow dust to get in.
This video shows the switch fix part. It's not professional, but it is better than the nothing that I could find. My pedal now switches like new.
You will need small screwdrivers and a set of hex wrenches to get the case off and you will need tweezers and a hot glue gun to deal with unseating/seating switch casing from the PCB. It's all big stupid physical stuff. No new parts or soldering needed. When you take the plastic case off the switch, yo...

How to quickly fix a Jacuzzi Perfecta SWP2 dual flush toilet that does not stop filling
Просмотров 31 тыс.4 года назад
The Jacuzzi Perfecta SWP2 dual flush toilet seems like it has a sticky fill valve mechanism, but it is really just a kink in the cable that runs from the handle to the flush valve. It's a simple fix just rotate the fill valve to relieve the pressure on the cable. [Credit to bensound.com for the intro music]

My Jacuzzi Perfecta SWP2 dual flush toilet made a hissing noise and sprayed from the top of the fill valve. This video shows how the problem is the FLUSH valve (not the fill valve) and goes through a description of how to fix it. [Credit to bensound.com for the intro music]

I tried this fix but no success. A plumber friend happened to be here and looked at it, and said the set screw on the flush handle (inside the tank) was way too tight and holding the valve open.. Loosened it up a turn or two to and no problems for almost 2 weeks now.. Maybe this fix is an option for some of you guys.

Thank you @aroundthehousediy5124 for this Video. I have my helix since 2017 and I never really understood the toe switch from the beginning. I was only working occasionally and then it stopped like after a year or so. Now I finally got the time to open my helix the first time since I got it and found out: I do not have two metal plates but three, these plates were not back to back but "spooning" inside the clamp and the metal pin that should touch the plates was going rouge inside the helix. Luckily it touched some adhesive inside and kept sticking there preventing any damage that could be done. But did I undestand correctly, it should be two pins back to back?

My SWP2's issue is the fill valve, I think. When flushing, either up or down, I get 2 seconds of fill, then 3 or 4 seconds of no fill, then another 2 seconds of fill. Repeat until tank is full, and is all kinds of irritating to hear. If I push the fill valve down until the water returns to the full tank level and let go, it's fine... until the next flush.

Great video, but you left too much in the u-shaped bend which will make it difficult for wastewater to flow and too much will stay in the bend. It should just be a few inches. As you mentioned, the purpose of that u-shaped bend is to keep sewer gas out of your house and also the little flying bugs that live in the sewer. This requires a small amount of water in the bend to fully block that bend, but too much water will impede proper draining. It does fit tight, trimmed properly it does work great. Had a drain on an old laundry tub rust through and the fittings were weird and none of the Home Depot parts would fit. Found Simple Drain on the shelf and it looked too easy and simple, and it was too easy and simple, but it worked. It wasn't the only repair kit I bought, I also bought the Snappy Trap which is more traditional, I got it in case the Simple Drain didn't work. Turns out, I needed a kit with a female connection to the waste pipe, which the Snappy Trap didn't have and I needed a tailpiece extension, which the Simple Drain doesn't have but the Snappy trap does. Will be keeping a close eye on it, but so far so good, through several wash loads it hasn't leaked.

So we have had this toilet for 8 years, it started shutting off the water while refilling, it seems the little cup the float sits in would fill with water raising the float, then the water would slowly drain from that, water back on and repeated until it reached the actual fill level. We tried CLR in the tank etc, didn't seem to help. Now, it no longer does that, but slowly (so slowly) fills...and then keeps running. It seems like the water that keeps running must be going down some "overflow" drain because it can run all night and not fill above the fill line. Anyway, the flapper seats fine it seems, the initial flush is fine if the tank has had enough time to refill. What parts do you think need to be replaced or cleaned or adjusted? Thank you!

I thought "Ha! I will just replace the valve!" Not so easy on this toilet as it is an uncommon 3" flush valve. I see one on EBay (without a fill valve) for $97.13, almost the cost of a new toilet. After disassembling the tank guts and discovering a generic replacement parts won't fit, I put it back together with the old parts gave the valve a twist and - viola! - no more sticky fill valve.

  • @erictrust3409

You do know they make p-traps that are compression fittings and not glued. So you dont have to worry about those "angles" you can just swing the trap. And it probably takes just as long as your hose to hook up. Also the trap doesn't make an air gap, it's a seal made by water to keep your sewer gases out. I'm a plumber and an army veteran, literally have never seen this in the military or on real jobs. Please for the love of God, dont reccomend this to people. Especially when you have close to no idea what your actually talking about i.e exhaust bell, or exhaust pipe from sink. High quality rubber, cut with scissors.

I work at Home Depot in the plumbing department. I am totally embarrassed to to be standing next to the same bay as this product, I cringe to think I have to sell this. In the video, look at the length of the trap itself. The weight of the water alone may pull the hose out of the trap adapter. To top it off, would never pass any inspection. To me this is a joke product.

    • @aroundthehousediy5124

Huh, it's code certified and has been sold through and installed by professional plumbers for commercial and residential use for years. Thanks for your pro opinion from looking at it, not using it. The length decreases because you cut it to fit. It will not slip off because it clamps on. It really does pass commercial inspections! Heck, it's the same tube used in commercial laundries.

@@sgwayne100I'll guess you will be skeptical no matter what the facts are. Thanks for your opinion on this code certified, successful product that has thousands of installs that are inconsistent with the "doomed to fail due to design" predictions. I'd suggest that you try one out and see how it goes. Remember that the alternative is PVC...PVC is far from perfect. This is not a saggy heavy product either... you cut it to fit your application.
