All Hail Wayne Cherry!
I have a chevy table 2010, and the sound doesnt work for me. We tried to turn the volume on, but nothing happens. Also, the audio press to talk doesnt work, on the center of the screen it says, audio muted, do you, know how to fix this?
Wie viel kostet dieses Auto bitte?
These Tahoe bodystyles are the best looking so far strong to
I like the 2006 tahoe ltz now thats sexy expectantly tan
You just made me feel proud of my 2011 Yukon all over again. thanks for the video brother man
I've had this generation to the current, and this generation was my favorite.
I've got an 08 that just hit 333,333 miles. Shifts and runs smooth will a lot of power left in it's life
Would you buy a used one? I’m debating between the 08,09,10
How has the AFM been? Did you do a delete and how is oil consumption?
Good lord that things bern driven hard.
Dont see alot of great quality content like this Gem right here! And I've been a Tahoe fan for years! I want one now! lol
Getting a 2010 tomorrow!
I think they are good values despite their plastic interiors. I looked at a 2009 Tahoe with 270k miles and it’s door still shut like a vault. Firmly with no rattles. The 2013 Expedition next to it had 180k and the door rattled, sent a lot of vibration through the cabin and sounded like it was falling apart.
Fords suck
I knew a guy that had a Chevy Silverado with the 5.3 ltr, one of the Cherry design years, that last time I talked to him, he had over 200k miles on it with the original engine and transmission and still running and driving great. A friend of mine bought a Silverado some years back, also a Cherry design with the 5.3 ltr, it had over 200k when he bought it, it had over 300k when it was stolen from him and was still running great. I'm impressed with some of these older Chevys, they seem to have a great lifespan.
I have a 2008 suburban z71 with every optional equipment. It has been very reliable and now has 138000
Update 144,484
2024- 168,759
Wanna sell it?
@@viking3487 someday. Still use for hunting and family trips.
What’s your update on your miles now?
@@user-yh1qc2yx8l 150,000
@@askadad7355 cools that’s good I got 136,000 on my 2012 tahoe ltz. I just got the truck Thanks for sharing your mileage. I like to hear that the Chevy suv are reliable
Ur convincing me to consider this tahoe yr.
Looking to upgrade from 2001 in the future. Nice video. Thanks!
I’d rather the 01
The 1992-1999 and 2000-2006 generations of Tahoe/Suburban were the best ones made. 2007-2014 is when the quality started to go downhill
I still like the look of the 2007 to 2014 body style 🙂
The only issue is the fuel management. Which can be deleted for cheap. These engines still go 300k+ with good care.
@@theaceofspades485 don’t forget the shit design on the inside. For example, it doesn’t come with a cabin air filter and its a mission to take out the bulbs on the headlight if you have big hands. Can’t take out transmission pan to give it a good clean, etc etc. Never buying American again
I love my 07 it’s chilling at 268k miles
@@licktin1091 why couldn't you get to the transmission pan?
Interesting it doesn't have a cabin filter. My 07 Saturn relay has a cabin filter 😒.. gm logic.
These Gen IV motors are LS motors. The one in the video has the basic 4x4 system for highway mileage and good in the snow, not maximum towing or off-roading, those run the 2-speed transfer case and have 3.42 gears versus the 3.08s.
LS based....not a true LS
Thinking of buying my sisters tahoe. She doesnt use it much at all and ive drove it , its in good condition.
I love the 2nd Gen Body Style way more but these are real nice too.
Do you have cracks on dashboard? Those are very common problems for all of GM trucks/SUVs. I got 2 cracks so far on my 2010 Tahoe.
Great review. Enjoyed your sense of humor too.
My neighbor has an 09 Tahoe, lifted on 35's. It looks badass. 🙂
Excellent presentation, Sir.
Great review, well spoken, keep up the good work!
Thanks man, I’m buying a 2012 to go to the lake and the beach with friends.
Looking to get my wife one of these, great review! Quick question. I know the estimated MPG, but realistically what are we looking at? Sorry if i missed it in the video.
Like 14 in the city man
They made the Tahoe good this year
Nice raw review. Thanks man!
awesome personality! u earned my sub!
Love these vehicle. I have an ‘05 Yukon but want to get something newer as its almost time. A 2017-2018 version whether a Tahoe or Yukon. They are pimp. 2015-2019 have a much higher end interior and the whole vehicle is put together better.
12:08 that's my truck 😳😅😅😅😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀
Does the third row of this gen in the suburban have more legroom or floor space vs Tahoe? Don’t care about cargo space that much, but I do about third row legroom.
I heard the cylinder deactivation could be a nightmare. Is this true ? And is it difficult to delete ?
Can be yes, very easy to deactivate with a device that plugs into the OBD2 port called range technology
“It can fit a rotisserie chicken” 🤣
The 08 and 00's tahoes are my fav.
The new ones look ok but not as good as these in my opinion.
Great video! I have to agree with you about the appearance. It is the king of the hill styling. I drive a 2009 Suburban.
i lov this guy. so funny. good video.
I do like the Cherry designs.
I’m currently researching/shopping for my first used SUV and feel a little stuck. I’m looking for reliability indefinitely and am eyeing the 2006-09 Toyota 4Runner, 2008-2010 highlander and this 2010 Chevy Tahoe. I’ve always loved the styling of chevys but am worried about reliability with the whole LS engine fiasco with the 07-08 (09?)Thank you for this review
Sir I am in the same market. Have you narrowed it down?
Roger Toledano
So far I’ve narrowed it down to 2008-2013 Yukon and 2008+ Toyota Sequoia/4Runner. I’m leaning more towards reliability (Toyota) so I may end up getting the sequoia or 4Runner. The Tahoe/Yukon seems to need a little more TLC and it’s highly suggested to do the DOD delete on the engines of the Tahoe/Yukon. There’s plenty of videos about the DOD as well as Chevy Tahoe forums that’ll help with maintaining and getting the SUV right.
Btw, I’m a woman 😉
Get the Tahoe. I have one. 2010 LTZ. No problems, no regrets.
The best Generations are from 2000 to 2006 and 2007 to 2014 , I wish I have one
@@Ya-mu5vy I currently have 2002 Yukon XL, 2010 Tahoe LTZ and 2016 Tahoe Z71. Every new generation is getting better and better.
Actualmente tengo 2002 Yukon XL, 2010 Tahoe LTZ y 2016 Tahoe Z71. Cada nueva generación está mejorando cada vez más.
Want one of these so bad
Want one of these specific tahoes badly. I opted for the impala since I don’t have kids lol
I'm watching this video on January 1 2023
Except now, they have aluminum blocks instead of iron. Any idea when they switched to aluminum? I know the 2006 has iron. Do the 07’-14’s have iron?
Yes iron
@@blacksrt3791 that didn't answer the question at all.
I agree it's a great looking car and has aged well
Great video
I just bought a 08 ls that sits 9 for 9k in California the ls with the leather seats
Magnetic ride is only in the Denali models only starting I believe from 2017. Denali’s had air ride before that. If someone has maintained the vehicle and actually done proper maintenance. The vehicle will be good.
GMT900 Escalades and the Denali Hybrid also had Magneride.
@@swathdiver489 the video from gm that I saw, said that was only found on Denali's. Maybe they have changed it since then. Besides escaldes are expensive denali's. Cadillac is more of a status symbol.
@@blackstarafro2 Z95 was introduced on the GMT900s. If you are really interested, download all the brochures and manuals for each model for each year as I have and read them.
They had nothing but problems with the four cylinders Motors were building up with oil
5.3 flex fuel 👎. If you're okay with spending more than usual for up keep and the issues then this is the one. Put more money into a house and not a vehicle.
Just got a 10' ltz71 only 28k miles on
my 2011 with 172000 mileage is the best vehicle ive owned
I funded one 2011 with 60.000 km In Filippine Asking 16000$
I know price high compared there What you think
Where can u buy a used 2010-13 Tahoe like this at ?
Just picked up a 2010 at a local dealership
I have not made up my mind, Tahoe, Cadillac, Denali
Tahoe
Tahoe
they are all the same vehicle you just pay more for the badge i know i sold them
@ Jason Miller what year I should buy!!!!!
Tahoe, less problems
Great video
Except the engine does have issues. That cylinder deactivation was a mess. A lot of GMT900 owners have had countless engine swaps because of it. GMT 400 and 800 were their golden years.
Great job!
do you guys think I should own a Tahoe 2010? I am planing to get my first car, but me and my girlfriend want a second hand car and we are thinking of getting one of these. what should we take into consideration ?
I’m gonna buy one don’t see why not. My mom has a 2008 Silverado. It’s bullet proof.
Visit the TahoeYukon forum and have a look around to see if owning one fits your wallet.
Hard to find with low miles. But very dependable.
was that a joeys world tour shoutout??
It’s based on the LS engine but isn’t an LS engine.
Where i live everyone drives Camry or civic bmw. Tahoes are like the only popular American car around now unless you count Tesla.
clarify LS motor means different heads not just the 5.3, its going to have a 6.2 with 799 heads or so. the 5.3L engine can be modded to be a 383 to add more power but still have alittle better MPG then going fully with 6.2 LS3 mod. if i have explained that correctly.
CONS: your torque converter isnt up to parr for the amount of power to weight ratio, then your front wheel bearings are not up to spec either finally your door handles if you grab them close to the swivel of the handle they will snap off.
PROS: your 4L80E transmission is the best i have read so far unless there is better, performa transmission can build you a much better one for 4k and that includes over 1000 HP cap converter not included.
Anyone know if Stabilitrak issues are common on Tahoes from this time period?
No, that is not a common issue.
A faulty steering wheel position sensor throughs stabilitrak code as well
Man my tahoe haved that problem of the stabilitrack And was a Piston reclined and was because the other owner don't changed the oil man go to the mechanic
Yeah bro I have the same problem is just something you have to live with you have to drive until the sensor dies it won't mess up anything
Actually got one in saudi and it has 4 low too
people forget about the awful AFM systems...
alot of the features are removed from the ppv version which is the one I have :(
What type of transmission in it?
6L80, 6-speed transmission.
I love mine!!
my tahoe just hit 275,000 O_O no issues at all
Am trying to decide to get a Tahoe or a Suburban I have a big Subwoofer box 44 inch by 20 my guess will be the Suburban than. But my wife want the Tahoe better cause it's smaller, I tell her it's my SUV not her.🙂
Im just torn between a silverado 1500 and a tahoe. they are priced about the same...
13:21 that shot is hot
Bet you didn’t know how shitty of a year this would turn out to be 😂😂
🤔
I think and read elsewhere as well that Tahoe's are way underpowered compared to their size. Those are pretty big SUV's.
You also promised to tell how to get the 4 WD drive version.
I have a 11 Tahoe with 4wd and it is underpowered for its wait but if your are already moving, it gets up and go but if you are from a stand still you aren't going to go anywhere.
I have a 2013 Tahoe 2wd, near mint condition, 100% Florida vehicle. I bought a Diablosport tuner and flashed the 87 octane performance tune to the PCM and TCM, disabling DOD (displacement on demand) as well. Now the Tahoe gets up and goes like a crazed cat. The Diablosport made a huge difference to the throttle response and added a little hp and torque too. This 5.3 is far from being underpowered.
@@austinyorkyork1529 BlackBear tune man, the best part is what Justin does to make the transmission perform so much better. Like driving a totally different vehicle.
Not at all. Many of them however have highway gearing, 3.08s, that gives them great gas mileage but makes them dogs off the line even with the 6-speed and it's Granny 1st gear. 3.42s giddy up quick!
@@swathdiver489 Yep, I agree. My 2013 has the 3.42 with the max tow package.
The 2011 has a 4wd L
Are you going to get a DOD delete done to save your engine ?
DOD is supposed to be problematic.
What’s DOD stand for?
@@mcland510 AFM /DOD Active fuel management / displacement on demand
Only problematic for those who don't change their oil in a timely fashion and for those who use the wrong oil. AFMs worst enemy is dirty oil.
Put some spinner rims on it
"NPR"😂
Nah the previous generation Tahoes were mechanically better they were bullet proof S U Vs.
Except the have that crappy 4L60e, went through 3 of them. The 6l80e in this newer gen is much better.
@@zachariahz9832 If you’re doing burnouts or heavy towing “heavier than recommended” yeah you’ll go through a few of them I have had two second gen Yukon and Tahoes and have never given me any problems with the transmission very reliable engines and transmissions if you treat them well that is.
Third gen Tahoes have Engine problems with fuel management and or collapsed or turn around lifters.
All cars and SUVs have some type of normal problems in them.
Oil burners
not mine with 170000 miles
AFM delete

This is one of the worst gens of these models. As far as the interiors go. Dirt cheap plastics everywhere. I’m glad they improved with the 15’ and newer.
But these are regarded as one of the most reliable. With the 2015+ considered to be the worst as far as reliability.
IMO, 2015 and up were even worse for build quality. 2000-2006 were the last good years of the Tahoe/Suburban.
