Chuck Mashigan was the designer of the YJ jeep so I think they named it after him instead of calling it a YJ jeep cos its not a licenced body 🙃 And wish they made it 1/6 scale to match my other 1/6 scale crawlers and trail trucks. And like the lights you added too the jeep, nice work!!
I think you actually may be in luck there because it's actually 1/7 scale. The wheel base of a Jeep YJ is 93.5 inches, which equals 2372.36 millimetres. Which divided by 7 is exactly 339 millimeters which is this thing's wheelbase. So it should fit in fine with your other rigs.
I discovered, one can use a piece of white sponge foam. (Not too dense) Cut to shape to fit the light glass interior. And it makes a budget l.e.d. light diffuser.
Something special about your channel.. I love RC sparks . But . His channels has changed so much over the years.. this is almost like his back when he started .. nice video
I need one of these. I have an '88 YJ rock crawler with Chevy powertrain. It runs leaf springs, but I have 16" of wheel travel rear, and 18" of travel in front. I imagine this little rig with leafs, would be like my Marlin Crawler though. Scale, but not much travel. Need to find the best place to get one from.
11:14 Scale 1/1 leaf springs can actually give you a lot of flex and articulation, we old Willys/Kaiser/AMC CJ owners know this, but it is hard (so far) to replicate this in small RC scales. Maybe the vehicles need to be weighted down for a more realistic scale (sag) effect?
@@Hjerte_Verke yeah. I’ll be doing a leaf version and straight rock crawl version. Just hope they don’t limit production. Then it’ll be treated like a vintage bruiser and be sold for double. I plan on about three of them.
I've been waiting for a 2door . Nice almost rtr jeep / truck. The headlight buckets, get a Molotow chrome pen, Hobby Lobby carries them,Wally- world ,Amazon . That 2 speaker box is so cool, listen to your tunes while trailing.
Awesome review! I've ordered mine and I can't wait for it to arrive. I love what you did with the lights. Thanks for sharing all of those upgrades. - oh one thing, the battery you linked to on amazon has a deans connector not the TX60.
Definitely a great looking rc.. especially after you added the lights.👍 love the scale look of it.. cantaloupe wait to see it with the hobbywing system in it 😊 happy crawling
Sweeeeeeet rig!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing one of these in real life soon! Hopefully I can eventually get one too! Great video as always Haley! 👍
Its HUGE! Looks more like 1:7 or 1:8 scale, not 1:10. Lately, it seems these manufactures need to take a course on scale and proportions, jeez. Looks cool , much like a YJ, but the crumby axles under are a bummer, but that can be fixed. lol fake Hyrax tires.
Did the Mytrick RC light kit come with the soft white headlights? Or were those an addition light you had to buy? Great video! Setting up my Jurassic Park JEEP Mashigan I just got now!
@@RCGirl I could see some damage happening in a rollover. Hey what size would you consider those shocks to be cause they where tiny looking for a 1/10.
I no longer own a YJ, but have a TJ, CJ and DJ. But my brother has a YJ Renegade and would love to 3D print a body kit to put on one of them and paint it to match his. I may still get one for myself. And it is an early style YJ based on the cage (sport version vs the family cage) and all YJ came with leaf springs. 4 link is better on RC, but don't knock em on a real rig, my YJ had some really good flex offroad.
Fantastic vid. Looking at getting into the hobby with this Down Under 🇦🇺 and will do the same mods as you. Love the scalability. Unfortunately it looks like these aren't available anymore.
Yeah they seem to be sorting out trademark stuff. I think they'll do a re-release soon - fingers crossed. It's a great rig that deserves to be out in the world (with licensing or small changes!).
Yes it was leaked back in July by me, I think. 😉Since the pre-orders and all the info were only found on European sites, I don't think anyone actually received one before this pre-release however.
Why did they stop selling it? I was ready to buy at the end of the video until I found all the links are removed from their website and amazon. Bummer😢
if they put a spring in those they should've made the headlight round and itll be a TJ.. i have no idea why they did this.. a 2 door jeep with spring suspension is always a TJ not YJ
That jeep has potential to be amazing, you did a great job. Just one thing no driver your killing me. also couldn't you take the yellow headlights and light the dash with them and then run your own better light kit
I am sure you will be able to buy them separately soon, as spare parts but they messed up the plates design. For all 50 states the plate design is 6 x 12 inches and this looks like it is 5 x 13"
Looks like the Mashigan has been re-released: www.fmshobby.com/products/rochobby-1-10-mashigan-rc-rock-crawler-rs-red-4wd?ref=RCGirl
HI RC Girl.
I tried to buy one but no longer available in Europe.
It looks like Jeep doesn't allow FMS Roc Hobby to sell this amazing rc car.

Hey thanks for that intel. There's not much info on Chuck, at least that is easily found however. Good call 👍
thanks for the info! haha

Finally!!! FMS rochobby is killing it! As well as marketing every favourite RUclips channel has it all of a sudden.

The original product description lists optional leaf-springs so be on the lookout...
Great looking rig and a nice in depth review, off to part 2.
Chuck Mashigan is the guy who designed the YJ (what this is based on) hence the name. a nice little tribute to the designer
Best review of this rig I've seen to date. Thanks!
Lights take it to the next level. These FMS/Rockhobby rigs really deserve sound cards as well..

Yeah all my leaf rigs are pretty stiff...
Wow! I am so impressed and it looks so cool! Thank you so much! RC girl! It looks awesome!👍👍🫶🫶♥️♥️🇵🇷
Thats a very nice looking rig! Suspension looks great for realistic flex and scale movement
Love the truck and I am glad it fit for you :) Thank you for the shout out :)
So fun, thank you! Super creative design
Nice rig 👍🛻💪god job to install the lights and musicbox
Awesome video. You are correct the YJ came with leafs. You can always say the suspension was upgraded with coil overs. Lol.
LOL!
There are optional leaf spring upgrade parts listed in the original product description. Look for the thread at RCGroups in the crawler section.

Very nice that Jeep RC. Nice to play with. Personally it's just my thought.
Ein sehr schöner allumfassender Bericht, Danke schön !!
It looks really nice. I like when crawler is actual car, not some 'what if'... Great review ;)

Great video as always
Thanks! 🤙
Nice. They packed it in one of those foam coolers from the gas station.
Them lights and radio are sick loving this 5th scale ima keep it stock and just enjoy what they did and if it breaks then I'll put my twist on it
Great job with the those head lights. Yeah the factory are too yellow. The speaker box looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
That is cool, my local.hobby shop got a few of them in stock....your lights look awesome and sound system is so cool💯
Yeah the lights and sound system are pretty cool :)
Gotta get one! JP jeep on the way!
Love it! And yes, the plates are reflective 😎

Yeah it's definitely more in line with their 1/6 willys and jimny.
It has finally been released in 1/10 scale by RocHobby.
It looks like a YJ Jeep and is very nice
Great information on this New Rig. 💯
Amazing job love you so realistic😉😉😊
Nice review friend
That’s too cool, haha!
So neat!
Those Jack stands are sick👍
Thanks! I'll be adding them to my merch shop soon :)
Nice truck great to see girls into it also just got my xmaxx

A very Naice and Cool RC Truck

I like it!
Did the Mytrick RC light kit come with the soft white headlights? Or were those an addition light you had to buy? Great video! Setting up my Jurassic Park JEEP Mashigan I just got now!
I really like it. I wonder why they say is a 1/10 scale when it is much bigger.
Chuck Mashigan was the designer of the YJ Jeep therefore the name
Only Jeep I've seen with neat wiring 🤣🤣🤣
Aww reminds me of my old yj 🥺
Lol....held by....held by gravity. It's good to laugh first thing in the morning.
ha! yeah a magnet would be nice there. Popped open a few times during the run

Ha!
Don't think they used oil other than a dab for o-rings. Kinda cheap but still really nice scaler.
You are the best rc-girl😉👍🇧🇻
aw shucks! thank you
nice zusuki sj13 mashigan
They make a leaf spring kit for it now. Costs around 50 dollars.
Just ordered mine from FMS Hobby!
This looks amazing :)
Love It sis 😍🥰
Do you think the seats in this are easily paintable?
I want to run round headlights and make it Light Khaki Metallic like my Unlimited Rubi TJ!
Nice rig but have we not enough jeeps already in this hobby?
Great looking Rc I own 3 YJ's so I'll be adding this to the collection but man wish they'd have went with shorter wheelbase YJ are short.
Sweet! haha yeah can't please everyone. People seem to like the longer wheelbase stuff
@@RCGirl to bad you cant buy the 1/7th scale anymore
Is mine here yet?! I’ve always wanted a Tamiya cc01 YJ so I’m super stoked for this! 😂
👍👍👍
Nice
This rig is really awesome! But it ist rather a 1/8 scale model - compared to a Tamyia CC01 Wrangler YJ it´s much much bigger !!!
Subbed to you
🔥🔥🔥😍😍
Great video! The wheelbase is 339mm or 330?
339
@@RCGirlIs there a chassis that can donor components to this rig? Like axles or drive train?
Does the transmission have metal gears and bearings too?

Though it's was real for a minute 😂
Are the links steel or aluminum?
Do you happen to know the shock length of it by chance
what camera do u use for close ups plz?
1987 yj jeep 93.4 inch wheel base. 93.4÷13.3=7
This is a 7 scale jeep.
ya, like they said, 1:10 scale.🤣🤣😂 They aint the only manufactures labeling things the wrong scale. Seems to be a trend in the hobby lately. lol
How can this be a 10 scale
????????
@@PhilBender612 Yes, even the big hobby names do it BUT I wish they would get it right!!!
