It's one of those things that may not be practical, but is great fun to use. Just the fact that I can annoy my kids with it makes it worthwhile. It would be cool if it could transpose it into the Kia female voice.

Great review Doug! My only request for future reviews is to give an opinion of the sound quality of the stereo system. Since you review so many cars, I feel this is an important addition to the infotainment portion as user interface is one aspect, but sound quality can vary greatly between brands (how is the bass, instrument sound, detail, loudness, etc). Just an idea. Thanks again for a great review!

Doug forgot to mention the ultrasonic sensors in the Telluride that if they detect movement in the vehicle after you have shut and locked it, it will honk the horn and flash the lights at you and notify your Uvo Link app on your smartphone to remind you something is in the vehicle.
Also forgot to mention the Safe Exit Assist feature that will prevent you from opening your doors to oncoming traffic by using the BSM system to detect it.
Don’t most cars have interior sensors now? Even my Raptor has them, and it’s a truck.
Jim Raptor Yes they do, but most sensors are on the seats and are pressure sensitive. Telluride uses the seat sensors and ultrasonic motion sensors to detect movement.

To this day, these SUVs are sold before they even get off the truck. A guy I work with had to leave the state to get his as the local dealerships had ran out of stock for the foreseeable future. Each dealership is only alloted a certain number of shipments withing a given period of time and they simply ran out of possible orders. KIA obviously didn't expect how popular these things would be.
"Third row intended mainly for children".
Sofyan from redline reviews.... "it's pretty roomy in the 3rd row for me!"
Doug should learn to be more objective when talking about interior space since his height (6'4) is not the standard for many adults in America. The 3rd row looked more than adequate for average & slightly above average-sized adults.
SuchANiceGirl22 people watching him know and it’s obvious how tall he is. I love that he tells the truth..... wouldn’t you rather have more room than expected? I have never heard anyone complain about having too much leg room! Lol
@@caseytbss Not everyone who watches his videos is a subscriber, so no, many people don't know that he's taller than average. A persons actual height is not obvious in a video. Accurate depictions of general room/space are always better than being "pleasantly surprised", especially when talking about a $40k vehicle. I like Doug's reviews also, but there could always be improvements made.
when Doug was sitting in the 3rd row the 2nd row seats where placed at their very rear position to give the 2nd row passengers maximum space. So when the 2nd row seats are slided a few inches forward, there is descent space in the 3rd row too.
Indeed... I wonder why he didn't try make 3rd row more roomy?
Uhhhhh, this is your captain speaking. We will be arriving at soccer practice in approximately 5 minutes. 😆

Even with everything named there were still a lot of great features missed that help it stand out even further. It's a great SUV that without knowing the name people would expect to pay $70k + for.
if it were a BMW the price would be 200K+
Now that my mom is an empty nester she finally decided to let go of her minivan, and in January I talked her into getting an sx prestige telluride. 6 months later she still loves it
I’m trying to convince my mom to get one too for this exact reason. But she was also looking at the AMG GLC Hybrid, and maintenance wise, I think that would be too expensive. This seems more better financially (obviously)
@@nolongerinuse488 Same boat, they have a minivan but her husband's kids are getting older so no need for a minivan soon. She has a Prius but I could see prefers SUVs to see more and it's a better family vehicle in general.

KIA execs take note, over 1 million views, this should be in your next commercial. Great job Sir Doug, great job. The CDSM is well pleased (Coalition for the Doug Score Movement).
Hey Doug, I think you'd appreciate this little detail that almost nobody knows about Kia...
Seems appropriate for me to tell you since you are the king of esoteric automotive knowledge on RUclips.
The name Kia... is actually a bastardized version of a bastardized name in English.
Kia is actually not a Korean word.
It's derived from the English word GEAR. Which in Korean, lacking the letter R in the language, is translated to "gia" (which in Korean, it actually means gear because there is not an official Korean word for gear. So it's a borrowed word).
Which was then once again bastardized to "Kia" when converted back to English.
Because for whatever reasons, when Korean words become Romanized, G becomes K.
On that note, it's actually Gimchi. Not Kimchi.
The last name Kim is actually Gim.
And so on and so forth.
So. Is it a Kia Telluride? No. It's a Gear Telluride.
Cheers.
Edit: But nobody in Korea calls it a Gear. It's "Gia".
Gyeah!
Wow! So, are you Gorean? 🤔
@@ShiningShiningShining 🥰👍 No, Korean is not a Korean word so it doesn't pertain to it

I currently own my 4th kia ( 2017 Cadenza ) and they have become great cars BUT truth be told the value component is pretty much gone as they are not cheap and some are a little over priced in fact.
iSlandeRon Couldn’t agree more.
My friend just bought one of these and while I personally am not a fan of the outer styling, I have to say I really enjoyed driving it on a recent trip. On the freeway it can basically drive itself (surprised this wasn't more thoroughly explained in the video), space inside was ample for our camping gear, and it handled fine on our off-road adventures. Pleasantly surprised by Kia with this SUV!
This has been my dream car for a long time, and I finally upgraded from the 2021 Sportage (my previous dream car!) to a 2022 Telluride. I love it! I think it's unfair to compare it too much to its class rivals, especially in terms of comfort and styling. While I overlook most SUVs that drive past me, I've always turned my head when I see a Telluride. I would say it's more comparable to higher-end luxury SUVs for overall driving experience than an Ascent, Passport, 4Runner, etc. And as a longtime Kia owner, the amount of features and "quirks", as Doug says, in this car is far higher than its rivals.

Daughter, "You mean that Kia?"
Both, "WTF!"
I will be buying a Kia Telluride in a few weeks...👍🏽😁
Lisa Lisa you should seriously consider the Hyundai Palisade. They’re very similar, same engine chassis but Hyundai is cheaper at $39k and more luxurious with more technology (instrument panel is an LCD for example) and has a nicer interior while Kia is like $45k for some reason and much more basic. Those are starting prices of course here in Canada. Don’t buy the Kia.
Alex Mozheyko It is all a matter of subjective opinion and I personally prefer the Kia’s styling, both inside and out. The exterior styling of the Palisade is the same as many other mid-sized SUVs-it looks exactly like the Ford Explorer. And it was Kia’s distinctive stying that grabbed Lisa Lisa and her daughter’s attention.
I also personally prefer the Kia’s interior too. The electronic dash in the Hyundai is following the trend of more electronics to fail instead of a working speedometer and tachometer like we’ve had in the last 40 years.
I showed my wife the Hyundai Palisade and she didn’t like it at all. She said the oversized grill looked like a Lexus. This is one of the main reasons why when it came to upgrade her Lexus RX Hybrid we did not buy another Lexus-the ugly styling and the fussy electronics. The Palisade is cursed with both of these failings whereas the Telluride has classic styling that will age gracefully like a 1980s Toyota LandCruiser.
Good points...we're still looking as I was not overly impressed with Kia's interior. But I am really sick of seeing the all too similar body styles of EVERYTHING else.

This car is absolutely amazing. I just surprised my mom a new one of these for her 50th b-day. She LOVES IT! I got her the top of the line model which is the SX Prestige X-Pro, it’s got literally everything you could imagine, AT tires, additional ground clearance, heated & ventilated front and rear seats, driver seat power thigh adjustment, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, Wireless Charging, power adjustable pedals, mirrors, seats, and steering wheel with driver memory, full led DRLs, fog lights, headlights and taillights, auto high-beam, rear view mirror camera, every single safety/driver assist feature to ever exist including Kia and Hyundai exclusive blind spot view monitor and ACC w/ stop and go + steering assist, and self parking. Also I believe it has heated 3rd row seats. Only spent around $50,000 for it, that’s without any trade in, or incentives, just good ol’ fashioned negotiation. Sticker price was only $55,000 THATS IT! which you can probably tell is insanely cheap for what you get. It’s got more than enough acceleration it tows a 20’ pontoon boat with ease, gets around 24-25 MPG combined, it’s extremely smooth and quiet, and it drives like a dream. I’ve looked at every one of the Tellurides including the 2023 Pilot and the brand new updated Highlander, the traverse and the Explorer, they’re all pretty nice vehicles but the only thing that comes anywhere near the telluride is the top of the line Explorer that was over $62000 and wasn’t as smooth or as quiet as this is. If your in the market for one of these I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND getting this or the Tellurides twin sister, the Hyundai Palisade is literally an exact replica of the new Telluride with the exception of badging and exterior styling. This is also one of the cheapest top of the line vehicles in its class!! THIS CAR IS AMAZING! IM GOING TO GET MY WIFE ONE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS!

Thank you for reviewing the Telluride, but I wish you had been able to review the SX model instead of the one reviewed. The SX has all the "bells and whistles", has the rear glass roof, and 20" black wheels. I work at KMMG in West Point, Ga where we build the Telluride exclusively. We are very proud of this vehicle and strive to build quality products at KMMG. I work in the paint shop so I hope the paint looked good. Thanks again for the positive review Doug.
Martyville I am definitely thinking about purchasing a Kia Telluride. It looks awesome unlike the majority of mainstream crossovers
I find it very ironic that all the "foreign" makes have opened up shop and build their cars in the US. Even read today that Toyota is investing $750 million in 5 of their different plants in the USA to expand capacity. Yet Ford, GM and Fiat are shutting plants, trimming models, and have shifted a large amount of production to Mexico in the past 15-20 years.
Even Suzuki and Tata are trying their hands in foreign markets, what is wrong with them not to try atleast... Or get a nice collaboration going on with companies here which are already having certain investments.
Martyville Is this front or RWD based? Engine looked transverse. Would be nice if they used the Genesis RWD set up. Explorer went RWD.

I just bought one of these for my wife. We have no children, but she wanted a mid-size SUV. We looked at the Highlander, Ascent, Atlas, Lexus RX, Acura MDX, and the Tesla Model Y. I left it up to her to decide which one she wanted. When she test drove the Kia, she knew it was the one. Mark-ups are crazy on these at $7,000-$10,000 over MSRP. I tried talking the dealer down to a few thousand under MSRP, but they laughed at me. Found a nicely equipped EX at a local deal on a "one at this price" of $1,100 under MSRP, and went and snatched it up! She's very happy with it.
21:06 Doug, dude, you killed this thing on the Doug Score. “It’s average so I am going to give it a 1. It’ cool so I am going to give it a 2.” Your score doesn’t match your review at all on this one.
It's average for the segment. Why would a midsized SUV be get a high fun factor. It's one of the least fun cars you could possibly buy. Once again midsized SUVs aren't cool. This is just slightly cooler than the rest which are ones because it's new so it gets a 2.

First the Stinger and now this
There definitely stepping it up.
I'm not
That's surprising especially as Hyundai, which own KIA, does less "impressive" cars.
Doug is the type of guy who will sit next to you on a empty bus
D O U G H
Dough the type of guy to be turned into bread
Dough, the type to turn sour.
But then it's not an empty bus. 🤔
LOL
This is truly a great car I got one a couple of months ago and it seats all of my children comfortable will still a reasonable amount of cargo room along with a lot of technology, great ride quality, and all around just a great car
I gotta say, the first time seeing the Telluride on the road, I was impressed. It doesn't look like a school project designed by Frank Gehry, just boxy & simple. Good on you Kia.
From Koenigseggs to KIAs... You got to love Doug
Front looks like a GMC Yukon. Side looks like a Volvo XC90. Rear looks like a TVR/Rolls Royce Cullinan.
Forza Aviation How the fuck you get Yukon from the front, the front look weird
@@Ryan-mg7pd the weird headlights and grille, only difference is its much smaller
You could basically say that about every car made.
I was literally thinking the same about rear. 🤔
Are you one of those people who say Aston Martins look like fords?
I just purchased a loaded 2022 EX and they have change quite a bit. I call it a budget Range Rover. Prices are higher now. A fully loaded EX with the tow package will be about $47,000. The second row seats are now Captains chairs. It is a fantastic vehicle.
My Optima has the same volume and climate control placement. It's not an issue at all, and the steering wheel is the best way to change the volume anyway. Definitely saving up money for the Telluride.
The three complaints got me ROFL. Doors auto lock, volume control is on the steering wheel, and this car is loaded at 40k. That center screen is ten years ahead of most other brands.
Doug is the type of guy to yell answers at the TV when Dora asks for help
🤣🤣🤪🤪🤣
hahaha best!!
Already been used try again.
Khaki cargo shorts with a few too many pockets.
You don't do that😬??
When reviewing “family cars” especially, it would be REALLY helpful to note how many car seat anchors are installed on the backs of each of the 2nd and 3rd row of seats. (Unless I missed it...)
honestly car brands should be paying him
a good review from doug just seals any buyers questioning themselves.
i mean this vid got 2.2 mill views
Doug the type of guy to bring his own pepper grinder to Olive Garden.
He tells the waiter.... no no, I.!! got it
No! he just brings his own food to Olive Garden. I saw him
At least Doug is wearing two shirts again. I was worried with the BMW X7 video. Don't Change Doug! We love ya! :D
Also long sleeves with shorts!
@@markmalinowski5951 the pinnacle of dadcore
And now we know what kind of underwear he apparently wears lol Wasn't expecting that visual.
What an awesome video! Iconic Doug. Thanks for another great one.
I'd like to have a "Quiet Mode" button for my wife and kids...scratch that, make it a "Mute Mode" button
I see Kia and Hyundai spent some time on vacation in Western Colorado. Telluride and now Palisade, I hope I can soon buy a Grand Junction😂
How about the new Kia Rifle? ;)
You can get a Durango.
Perry Champ true, a which was released alongside the (awful) Chrysler Aspen haha. For whatever reason car manufacturers seem obsessed with this area. As a local it’s kinda cool.
@@sagew7377 Yes, quite true. I lived in Durango, Ouray, Telluride, Hesperus Hill, Placerville and Norwood and that whole southwest corner of Colorado. BTW, if you're looking for something absolutely incredible to do, and this is coming from a person who fished, camped, hiked, skied, and hunted, etc in Colorado, take the Durango to Silverton train ride. It's incredible.
I want a Littleton

This car is SO worth the money, I could see it going up into the Triple Digits.
My Mom bought one and The car is absolutely amazing, I love the cooled seats. The cruise control is my favorite out of everything.
IMO, it looks like a GTA 5 clone of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan...
Paolo Ariedo lmaooooo I agree 😭
Fortunately thats only you.
That is actually true I also felt the same on the first look
Me too, GMC Yukon from front and Cullinan in the rear
Facts😂😂😂
Who also says "this" with doug everytime he starts a video
About 60 people so far including me and damnit why wouldn't you? I get excited when i start a Doug vid haha
*THISS*
Children.

This "midsize" SUV (ever where else this is full size), is now the Nth American Car of the year. Well deserved Kia
The exterior design of this vehicle looks very nice
A $40,000 suv with peasant blockers? I like it.
Peasant Cadillac
KIAdillac 😂😂
Peasants don't have cars. They take public transportation.
@@bobbyc3076 Or they drive Buick Lesabres

I think that the front looks like a 2007 Cadillac Escalade, the side looks like a Volvo XC90 Excellence, and the rear looks like a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
And has less than 300 horsepower.
couldn’t be more accurate
Wow so it’s like a Rolls Royce and a Cadillac Escalade yet this is a fraction of the price and you still can even afford it lol
The front also looks like a chevy Tahoe
Yep Korean manufacturers are like the Chinese: only good at copying things.
A little blood on the fan blade hand caught.. loved it..
The welcome sound on my Telluride plays when I unlock the car and get in, before I start it.
You know it's spring when Doug and the UPS drivers are wearing shorts.
This video was filmed by Los Angeles California, so it's gonna be warm in that area.
You can literally wear shorts 365 days down here. Gets a little niffy in winter but just put a jacket on and you are good to go.
I can't wait for Doug to review it's sister the Hyundai Palisade when it comes out
Don’t know why but I though you were talking about Doug’s sister 😂
Was like “Wait...How???”
Its
Oh yes, that will be super exciting!!!
The climate and radio dials are in perfect locations, and they will not be confusing. People will know the first time!
I would get this over the honda pilot
Why, the Honda Pilot will be much more reliable
@@LiterallyHenry because the Telluride looks better, has more features and a nicer interior. Kia is also very reliable
This is not Kia's first large 3 row suv. They made the Borrego through 2009.
He called the Telluride Kia's 1st "family hauler", which are usually plusher and unibody based crossovers while the Borrego was a large traditional body-on-frame SUV.
I wish Kia would bring the Borrego back to the US. Back when I first watched the commercial for the Kia Telluride during the Super Bowl and then looked up the Telluride on the web, I saw that it would be Kia's attempt at making a gain in the Luxury SUV market. Happy that the Kia Telluride will be assembled at the assembly plant in West Point, GA; which is where the Kia Sorento is assembled. If Kia brought the Borrego back to the US, I would love it if they constructed the assembly plant in my hometown of Galion, Ohio.
Kia still makes the Borrego, it's just not sold here. It's called Mohave and is reserved for only a few markets. They're about to debut an updated one.
@@JDubbs07 That's right. Here in Korea, we aren't getting the Telluride. They are about to reveal the all new Mohave, which will be a body on frame. Interesting.

That was pretty good. LOL
Stupidist fucken joke I heard all day.
I don't get it. Please explain
@Vaan Ravishankar
making half baked crying over cheapness and copying [everyone copies everyone, some like honda have done it really bad] is how retards cope with Korean cars being better than their shitpiles.
How many "No! I am your father" will played over that amplifier?
