What do you like or not like about the new Telluride? Here's the full review: ruclips.net/video/pz_wwwV1udQ/видео.html *Thanks for watching and have an awesome day!*
My biggest dislike is the front bumper. There is a plastic piece under the bumper that sticks out just waiting to be broken. Anyone parallel parking that bumps your car will break it and I'll bet its fragile and expensive to fix. Why decent bumpers are getting hard to find is beyond me.
The vehicles has cool tech features but they are cheaply made hunk of junk. It look like they based it off the Land Rover and Range Rover. This is just my opinion. It's not worth the price in which they sells them for. It a v6 with cool tech. However, it's not a good company to their employees either. You would think they will pay people a fair wage. However people still work there because making some money is better than making no money. I just thought I may add that... but anyways back to the Telluride, it's a lot of computers and electronics such as the e brake. This is the electronic parking brake with is on some of the suv crossover. If your vehicle have a push button start then you'll find that it will be difficult for you to let the window up if the vehicle is not started or let the window down. Not good in case of emergency and you need a quick way to get the window up or down. It has a lot of leg space tho. It's gonna cost to fix all the electronics when it goes bad. It's a lot of stuff to go bad. They offer a heated steering wheel. Heated and air cool seats. Cameras and sensors every where. Then it's a Kia. They make it look nice and fill it up with a lot of tech but, it's not well made. I do not know the crash safety rating but I think it will fall apart if in a collision. It's made of plastic and thin metal so that's my take on this vehicle.

@@innovativethoughts It should be noted that Telluride actually got top scores in safety with a 5 star rating in every category. It should also be noted that there have been may Kia factory employees from Georgia on these forums that praise Kia for the way it treats its employees. I remember one that said he was proud of the way they give quality control a priority and they have a 2 mile test track where every Telluride is tested before being shipped. Add to that a 10 year warranty and an suv triple crown award winner, and it's no wonder Telluride is called the "Korean Mercedes" (although it's final assembly is in the U.S.) Clearly , Telluride is made to a higher quality standard than other Kias.
@ to each it's own. Every company can't satisfy everyone, And everyone doesn't has to work for a company if they are not satisfied working there. With that being said, the good the bad and the ugly is still with the reviews.
Like #6: Design. This is, to my eyes, the BEST looking SUV in its class (almost like a Range Rover at 1/2 the cost?). Sure, looks are subjective...but most agree it has clean lines
alexandergoldma I agree ... I have a 2006 Range Rover, it’s paid for and I love everything about it, but my husband has been talking about looking for something newer since the mileage is getting up there at this point. The Telluride is the first newer SUV I’ve seen that comes close to the styling and size of a newer Range Rover without the hefty price tag.
@@nmalbrecht You have a fantastic SUV. Im a fan of the new Range Rover Sport but not a fan of the $80k price tag. Love the Kia but looking at the Genesis GV80 SUV as my next ride. Some hints of Bentley (because the newer Hyundai Designer worked on Audi, Bentley amd Lamborghinis) Anyways, thanks for sharing!
@Der Schwindel sure that's your opinion but I think it looks minimalist and understated...just the way I like it. I'm extremely picky with design and I think the rear tail lights are distinctive and cool, just like the front yellow DRL.. One of the best designed SUVs out there of any class imo...
I love my Telluride! Have 12k miles, no issues and lots of compliments. Can't believe its a Kia. Don't let the name turn you away. Lots of value for the price!
It’s been a while since I drive the Telluride, but both were very comfortable riding vehicles. At the time I had the Palisade, I thought that was maybe softer...but looking back I think the Telluride had a slightly better ride. The structure of the vehicle is nearly identical but I’m pretty sure they use some different suspension components
That warranty nullifies the “but its a kia” notion. Kia and Hyundai is really pushing hard to join the Japanese brand level. The consumers are the real winner here.
Appetit Bon no i don’t. Regardless of any reason man, nobody is boycotting Japanese cars especially toyota and lexus. Unless they have a significant decrease in quality and reliability. Sorry.
I have to say this SUV blew me away. I first saw it in a parking lot. So yesterday i went for the first time and ever and visited the Kia dealership one was unlocked so i sat in it opened it up looked it over left very impressed with the vehicle. So i came to RUclips for reviews and yours further solidified my choice that the Telluride will be my next vehicle purchase. Thanks
A couple of decades ago, Korean Samsung and LG brand image were far behind of Japanese Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba. But now they have the highest quality and brand image. One day, Hyundai and Kia will do the same.
Hyundai really hasn't been a bad brand , while thier company has came up. Nissan, and Toyota have fallen a bit on quality. Hell they build engines for one of the most bad ass military tanks in world right now, that leaves the American Abrams in the dust .
My '07 Hyundai ran great for 90k miles, my 2014 Kia Optima runs great and just had a steering problem fixed for free on warranty after 7 years, and my new '20 Telluride is everything I could ask for in a quiet, smooth, luxury feel SUV.
I have been a loyal GMC Terrain/Acadia consumer since 2011. I am proud to say that as of Tuesday, I am now an owner of the Telluride. Beautiful car, smooth ride, excellent warranty.
Just traded my 2019 Santa Fe Unlimited which turned me into a Korean maker fan. It was excellent. I just fell head over heals in love with my 2020 Telluride SX and had to have it. Got my wife a Stinger GT1 the next day. Added 10 year 150K bumper to bumper on both and now set for retirement vehicles. The stinger blows the 2017 Alfa Giulia I had in the weeds. Pierre Leclercq has taken both companies to new highs. Good on them and we the consumer win.
We just got ours! It’s freaking awesome! Everyone is gonna have their likes and dislikes . But your right about the room . I’m 6’2” , and I sit very comfortably. Great review bud. Keep doin what your doin !
I miss the mid 2000s Sorento. Built on a truck frame, and my fav... rear wheel drive. My wife and I have been together nearly 30 years, and her '04 Sorento was one of the best vehicles we've owned. It took a lickin and kept on tickin. Thank you for your review. The Telluride is one of the vehicles we are looking at this year for her.
I don't see how people dont like kia?! I been a Chevy person but I bought my wife her a Kia Optima and it was a STEAL for what you get and the price you pay. Love kia
Galaxy I showed my wife gallery photos that didn’t say Kia. She loved it. Minute I told her it was a Kia she said no way. I can’t disagree. The name sounds cheap and low quality. Trivial yes, but it matters. Even the logo looks cheap. I think they should move to a symbol, like Mercedes.
I have a 2020 telluride RWD. I love it. I run it in eco mode most of the time and get 24-25 MPG around town and 30 On the highway. You mentioned the sluggish on downshift. Mine does that too in eco mode but you put it in sport and it very responsive.
For sure! I can't say from experience with the Telluride - but my wife and I test-drove it's cousin, the Palisade, and the comfort mode was very smooth and enjoyable but the minute I switched it to sport, that transmission was much more sharp and aggressive. Sometimes I didn't always like the way it responded but you could definitely tell that there was a difference between the two modes and that it wasn't just for show. I didn't test out this day-to-day experience on that test drive but I'm sure when switching the mode to sport that it could provide a little added help if you wanted to pass someone on the highway - especially in those cases where you come up behind a semi and get stuck in the right lane. Not saying it's going to win any performance awards but I like that they didn't just throw those rotary modes in the middle console to give the illusion that you make some minor changes to how the vehicle drives - they do make a difference.
Just upgraded my 16 Kia Sorento for a 21 Telluride. It was really hard to part with my Sorento but I'd been eyeing the Telluride since it came out. So far I love it!
So after reading a bunch of reviews, the Telluride came in at the top for all of them. We bought a used 2020 EX for my wife's Day Home because of the space. She sat in the back seat and was instantly sold. She fits 4 car seats easily with room for the older kids. My personal favorite feature is the intercom for the back row but so far its been a great vehicle.
Hello from Toronto! Thank you Nolan for this review and all other great ones! We discovered your channel as we were shopping for a 2021 Telluride. Thank you for your honest and down to earth perspectives! Happy to subscribe, and keep up the great reviews :)
Thank you so much! I appreciate it. Greetings from Texas 😁

I was lucky enough to get a Telluride It is clearly the most luxurious in this category. For those that dismiss it just for being a KIA you fan get the luxury Telluride “KLexus “ badges online and use these overlays I ordered new badge overlays online before I even picked up the suv. My friends thought it must be a Lexus ! I also noticed that the ride and acceleration vary depending on what setting I put the driving dial at. The sport setting provides more acceleration. Econ provides better mileage and the snow setting seems to stiffen suspension. Telluride features make the suv seem more luxurious than Pilot or Highlander or Pathfinder or even Caddy.
I have Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate (2018) model. This is Kia’s cousin. I love this SUV. In fact, I’ve had three (3) Santa Fe’s. I’ve had zero problems. In due time, I believe they will surpass Toyota. Kia will do very well with Telluride. Hyundai and Kia have really stepped up their game.
Seriously considering a 2020 Telluride for my wife. Bought her a Soul+ new in 2015 and absolutely LOVE it. We live in ND and it gets around in the winter great. We drove it to TX with 5 adults (3 men 6' and over) and had plenty of head/leg room. We also drove straight through only stopping for gas. No issues. At all. KIA is very underrated.
We are a blended family of 7..we been looking for a while and i saw 1 of them and i was like wow..its a KIA!!? Awesome!!! ...will be getting one soon 🤞
Okay, so my vehicle GMC Acadia is almost paid off (in 2 months) which I absolutely love, I shopped around for a few weeks until I found a mid size suv with 3rd row seating, captain chairs in the middle & good leg room, also good cargo space in the back of all seats had to be used, 5 years ago the Acadia was the best in my opinion. But with my 5 year warranty coming to an end my husband is pushing me to begin looking for another vehicle. So today I went on a hunt for pretty much the same “must haves” in my vehicle, I literally just texted him, & said “I never thought I would say this, but I like the Kia Telluride” I love the look of the Range Rover but it just isn’t roomy enough for me so I couldn’t get it with still having to tote around 3 kids. I am very impressed, so I’ll have to see this car in person. From the looks of it online it may be a great option.
Very nice! You won’t have any trouble hauling 3 kids in here. Space is excellent, especially legroom. For the price...this Telluride Kicks butt. I’ve heard of dealerships marking up prices because of supply and demand so be aware of that. Good luck!
Thanks! The headlights are great for sure...you could easily replace the halogen with aftermarket LED or HID if you want. Might not be as good or long lasting though
Same here. I have a 2010 Kia Soul and it is still a great vehicle. Cheapest maintaining vehicle I have ever owned. I have never had problems with it. The warranty Kia has and has had for years is the best in the industry, along with their standard when it comes to recalls, if you ask me. I love the Telluride. I was actually hoping for an update to the Sorento, looks wise, but we'll see. I believe Kia has probably come to the end of the line for the Soul. Lol, I guess I had to come back to add, the Telluride is the update to the Sorento considering it's 3 row.
@Josh D Bullshit. There is no empirical evidence for that argument. My friends Tundra had to have a full frame replacement due to rust issues, which were so bad it became a safety issue.
Odd the 'it's a Kia' thing. Outside of the States Kia is cleaning up the likes of Toyota and other leading car manufacturers. Kia is the Samsung of automobiles.
I have a 2011 Kia SX. I love it 😍. I only have 54 thousand miles on it.my husband just informed me for our 25th wedding anniversary he wants to buy me a brand-new Telluride SX. For people who say oh it's just a Kia. You better check them out because they are totally awesome. Never had a problem and this is 2020. My husband also has a Kia traded in his Lincoln for this Kia in 2017. His is a hybrid. So don't knock Kia's until you try one.
I just took a 1900 mile trip in the Telluride EX AWD and consistently got over 28 mpg loaded a on cruise at 80 mph. As afar as throttle response, it sounds like the reviewer was driving in ECO mode all the time.
@@PrimeAutotainment when you mentioned that in the review, my consideration for the vehicle needs to be reconsidered. I have a 2019 Toyota Camry XSE 4 cylinder and does what you mentioned you start off steady from a start and seems like something holding it back, like wheres the power, press down on the accelerator some more then it drops way down and jerks your head back, it operates like it's all or nothing, and when you are only going like 40 mph it's already in 5th or 6th gear. It's a nice car and rides and looks nice but it's far from a driver's car despite its good looks. I need something a little more responsive
I've been drooling over the Telluride since the beginning of its time. I've seen it on the road and someone at work has one. I'm going to try and trade my 2016 Ford Explorer XLT for it . Seeing the reviews, I think it'll be worth the change.♡
Anything's gotta be more reliable than my friends BMW X5. The infotainment has never worked properly, brake and suspensions last as long as a politicians promise, handbrake failed, rear air con failed, many issues with tyre sensors, service light comes on even though you've just had a service ... that thing is a pile of junk
I wonder if they will address all the complaints about the windshield easily cracking and the powertrain complaints I've seen on the NHTSA and IIHS website. I'm am in the market for a 3 row and just test drove the Ascent and Palisade so far. Looking forward tot he 2020 Highlander and the Telluride next.
A few comments, Nolan... () Resistance to the KIA Brand. Thank God there are still some folks out there (mainly living under rocks) who continue to proclaim, "Yeah, but it's a KIA." If it weren't for them the massive demand for the Telluride would be even worse and the waiting lines for vehicle, especially the top SX trim, would be even longer. KIA planned for production of 41,000 Tellurides in the first year of production. They've sold over half that number in the first four months of availability. And the situation for the SX trim is even worse. When KIA dealers placed their orders they seriously underestimated the demand by customers willing to pay over $45,000 for a top trim Telluride. KIA responded to those orders and initially focused production on lower level trims. Even now with the plant in Georgia running at full capacity they can't keep up with demand. () Limited features and options on various trim levels. Every manufacturer designs their vehicles to meet particular price points. They do so in different ways. European manufacturers and to a somewhat lesser extent American and Japanese brands advertise relatively low "starting from" prices and then offer pages and pages of individual options that can be ordered on a particular vehicle. You can probably order an Audi, a BMW,, a Benz, or a Lexus in purple with a pink interior . Want a choice of a half dozen different wheel designs and three different wheel sizes? No problem. Have to have a sunroof or hate a sunroof? Your choice. Want to choose among two, three, or more engines? The list goes on and on. The result is a perfectly tailored vehicle with just about everything you want and almost nothing you don't. The downside of all that choice is cost, not just for an individual consumer who sees a price balloon as the boxes are checked but to the manufacturer's production costs in purchasing smaller numbers of components from third party vendors and to dealers who end up with units with less popular (or without more popular) options sitting on lots for longer periods. That increases costs across the board for manufacturers, dealers, and consumers. KIA has a different approach. They bundle a large set of features at each trim level and offer only a few packages and even fewer individual options within each level. In fact, color choices are more limited in the highest SX trim than in lower trims and the only packages available are a low cost towing package and a bundle of features in the "Prestige" package. KIA's approach reduces overall production costs and limits the number of unsold vehicles (especially at higher trim levels) sitting on dealer lots until they're finally sold at even steeper discounts than usual. The approach is also relevant to Nolan's complaint about the second row seating configurations. Their research apparently suggested that customers interested in the top SX trim were more affluent, have smaller families at home, and are more likely to cross shop more premium vehicles where captain chairs in the second row are more common. Therefore, they made the bench seats standard in the mid-level EX trim and the captain chairs standard in the SX. (The lowest "S" trim also has captain chairs as standard but have a $100 option for a bench seat.) In this case I suspect KIA will introduce a bench seat option for the SX in the next model year but the demand for the SX trim has been so great that I also suspect they're in no hurry to increase demand for a model they're already struggling to meet. Nolan doesn't like the fact that only the top trim Telluride has LED headlights. KIA could have made them standard on all trim levels. But to do so would likely have meant either dropping some other standard feature or increasing the cost of those trims. And in lower trims, a competitive MSRP is even more important than for higher trims. So what would you give up, Nolan? By the way, the complaint that the Telluride doesn't offer "bending" headlights stems I think from the vertical stacking of the headlights. My Sorento has the feature and I was surprised to see it lacking on the Telluride. But my headlights are in a horizontal configuration and only the outside headlights swivel. I suspect adding the feature on the Telluride would have meant diminishing the coverage of the headlights pointing straight ahead. That would likely NOT be acceptable as you go around a curve. () Fuel Efficiency. Historically, KIA (and Hyundai) have been challenged in terms of fuel efficiency. To deal with that issue in the Telluride KIA installed a relatively large 3.8L naturally aspirated V6 running the Atkinson cycle, a design that sacrifices performance to some extent while improving mileage. The result is an EPA rating of 19/24/21. Not great but the combined city/highway mileage is only 1 mpg less than a Honda Pilot with a smaller V6 (3.5L) and one more than the Sorento with a half liter smaller (3.3L also NA) V6. The Explorer, Ascent, and CX-9 have EPA combined ratings of 23 mpg with their turbo 4 cylinder engines in AWD configurations. But that 2 mpg advantage comes with a couple of caveats. First, smaller displacement turbos typically have a tougher time meeting their EPA ratings than larger NA engines. For example, Ascent owners report to the EPA that their combined mileage is 17.5 mpg's, far short of the 23 combined mpg from EPA testing. Disciplining one's right foot with a turbo is a challenge. Second, turbo 4's can be tuned to provide performance equal to larger NA V6's but physics is physics and the stress put on a small displacement turbo 4 in a vehicle weighing well over two tons is arguably an issue of long term durability to be weighed against a small advantage in fuel efficiency. () Performance. KIA's decision to offer neither a 4 cylinder turbo option nor a "performance" V6 version of the Telluride is another example of limiting choices in the interest of containing costs. They're aiming for the "sweet spot" in terms of customer priorities in a midsize crossover with relatively good fuel efficiency and durability trumping choices with relatively low "take rates." Those looking for scalding performance from a stop light will have to look elsewhere but KIA is fine with that. And those who want significantly better fuel efficiency can look at an Explorer hybrid. But it will take longer than a buyer is likely to own the vehicle to recoup the price difference between a top trim Telluride and a less fully featured Explorer (or Highlander) hybrid. () Bottom Line. Nolan's list of dislikes is relatively minor as he suggests. And he had to strain to come up with five. Lots of consumers apparently agree.
All very well said and excellent points Stephen! You’re so right about them hitting the sweet spot and their approach to features/value. I like how they do things and it was hard for me to nitpick some dislikes. For the LED lights...I’d just swap in some LED or HID myself and keep everything else that’s offered lol. Thanks as always for the input!
@@ktpinnacle Nope. Of course if KIA wants to send me a check out of the goodness of their heart I'd be happy to donate it to my favorite charity. Full disclosure: I've owned two KIA Sorentos over the last decade along with vehicles from VW and Mazda. Each of the KIA's has run flawlessly and I've never had occasion to use the excellent warranty for either one.
People just stare at my truck i love my telluride. Not many out on the street its a big truck internally but not too big on the outside definitely a must buy if you can find one
The warranty I like is unlimited mileage/ 10 year. The 100k mile is a thing of the past. Its 2020 it's time for us to get more then 100k miles warranty
I drive a CRV now, but I'm researching to pick out my next vehicle. Love the Telluride, but I don't need seating for 8. I have to check it out just to see how large it is compared to my current vehicle.
I traded a CRV. There's a big difference in gas mileage. But the drive and comfort of the Kia is so much better. I don't drive far so gas mileage was not that important to me.
Fyi in the winter the windshield wipers will not lift up when clearing snow/ice off. They are tucked almost under the hood so far that they have to move up a few inches to lift them. Weird design great vehicle tho
I bought my wife a 2020 Kia Telluride, she ordered it in the Dark Moss exterior and what I call an ebony and ivory interior ( our kids are grown so we don’t fear this interior choice). However we do on occasion like to load it full of grandkids. This vehicle was what the wife insisted on and all decisions on colors were hers. I must admit it’s handsome and while I’m not much on green period, this Dark Moss is so Dark, you need a sunny day to bring out the green which looks olive to me but admittedly is beautiful, Drives great and after doing the first oil change, not a difficult task like other makes and models and I’m probably a bit of on oddity in that I refuse to own anything that I can’t fully service myself such as oil changes, 4,wheelers, to Harley’s to even tractors I do all my own maintenance. Anyway I think the wife made a prudent choice, and sometimes she lets me drive!
I looked at most of the mid size suvs and I ended up going with the Durango. My decision was solely made on towing capabilities and none of them compare to the Durango at its size.I do like the telluride tho it’s sharp looking.
My only gripe with my SX is that the rear indicator lights are not connected to the rear brakes lights but to the 2 bottom lights close to the bumper...Not sure why we get those in Canada
Very nice review, and I love the honesty when mentioning the word "Kia". What you said is true, and people need to see them now. Like the ad says, "This ain't your father's Buick".
I just parked next to one of these and had to do a double take because I thought it was a Range Rover! I would definitely consider getting one of these if they add a little power to it.
I get, absolutely understand why people don’t like Kia’s, there first few years they produced crap. I rented one and was blown away! Amazing quality and ride.
Dang that’s ridiculous. I’ve heard of that happening almost everywhere though which is a shame. Definitely wait a while to buy one if they keep doing that
I live in Hawaii but purchased mine in So Cal in May. It was listed for 55k buy my husband got them down to 48k for the SX and they paid for the 10 year warranty as well.
I just owned an AWD EX 2021... What I’m disappointed about is that I have steering wheel temperature control which I don’t really need in Florida but I don’t have a seat memory control.
Had my Telluride now for 1 year. It's been perfect, and the worst tank I've had was 28 mpg. I'm a huge Toyota fan, but I think I may have a new favorite. Toyota and Honda are just falling behind.
Haha thank you! It’s a pretty sweet ride! If you want to see more detail about basically every part of the vehicle I have a 39 minute video here: ruclips.net/video/pz_wwwV1udQ/видео.html
As far as the slow throttle response, I didn't catch what the transmission is: if it's a CVT that would explain it; if not, it's maybe a slow transmission downshift - or somehow just slow to pick up speed - it is a heavy vehicle after all.
Having had dodges and GM cars most my life and them constantly breaking down I am done as it happens right at that 5 year mark. Having a family, as well I don't care about brand name, engine size and torque. Now I care about fair millage with great safety features and ratings with a comfortable ride that has a great warranty. Here is the issue, so many people have either Ford or GM or even VW and argue all the time who's vehicle sucks the most. The truth is many car manufactures make great cars and some people have shit luck with the car they got. No car is perfect but living in a state with a lemon law and having a 10 year 100,000 mile PWT warranty and 120k bumper to bumper with road side assistance for about 30k is a win to me. I got the 2018 AWD KIA Sorento. Safety, Price, Warranty all a great value and a peace of mined is what I got with it. What I like is the inside is comfortable and appealing with good features. What I don't like is the throttle response and its struggles up hill sometimes but I get over that by using sport mode for driving in Seattle then when on the highway I use Eco for about 27-28 MPG. overall between City and highway I average 22 which is not great but not terrible. If you like the look get it and if you stick to brand names go get your Cadillac or Range Rover.
Thanks for writing in! I had similar experience with a GM car several years back, same with my mothers vehicle. Such a bummer. Glad to hear about your Sorento!
Dislike #5 says it all. Hard for many of us to get past the Kia name. But the value is there for sure, and I like the exterior styling better than the Highlander. Looks a little bit like a Land Cruiser.
I think it is a very stylish suv...I have no doubts about Kia's reliability after all these years...I do however, question the resale value like all Kia's, the resale value drops bad..not that many autos have a good resale but paying $40K for a KIA that in 3 years is worth $13K is a piss-poor choice..There was a time, about 1998/1999 that some banks and lending institutions would not even loan on KIA and Hyundai... Capital One used to send out these pre-approved checks for buying a car with..they would say on the back "Not valid on KIA or Hyundai brand Autos"
Nice car, but no way in hell I am paying 5k over retail at 55k for a kia telluride!! There greed will be there downfall if quality doesn't hold up and thats the big question. Sure you can add every feature and perks in the book; however, it just means more gadgets and gimmicks that could go wrong...
Have mine and I have no regrets....its the best deal under 40k its spacey luv it.....great miles..it makes everyone turn their heads!!! I have so much space in it
Is this still true about the second row "bench vs captains chairs" in the 2nd row? I'd heard the same thing last year that once you went to the top level SX trim, the 2nd row bench was NOT an option, but now I'm not sure, as the Kia config seems to allow a 2nd row bench in the top level SX? Can anyone confirm?
Just bought a telluride 3 days ago, the dealership had a couple SX with 2nd row benches, most were captain seats tho. The EX we bought had captain seats
Thank you! Pretty much, yes, except they have slightly varied styles on the inside too and a little bit of a different feature set. Mechanically the same though
Mariah Martinez haha, I hope my life never depends on it, but I would go Telluride! I actually got to drive the Palisade a couple months ago and love it too, but the Telluride seems more my style. So similar though
I’m looking at this seriously, to pull the trigger next week. Leaning toward the SX, but I live in steamy South Florida and don’t know if leather seats are a plus or minus down here. You have to be an engineer these days to figure out what options you gain/lose with each level, so if I go to the next level down, besides the leather seats and LED headlights, what else am I losing?
Here in the U.K. Kia is now a well respected make. The reliability and value are legendary. I wish we could buy the Telluride here. It looks amazing. Very like a Land Rover that doesn’t break down. The Sorento is the largest vehicle Kia sell over here.
I’ve had my Telluride SX since early May and I totally agree with you on the throttle and the gas pedal at a light. I’ve learned to switch to sports mode if I want to pass someone. We don’t drive the car much so we still have very low miles, wish I would have leased it instead. It is definitely a nice suv and still get compliments.
I got one here: ruclips.net/video/WRxweptW7ug/видео.html I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time with it though. It’s not quite as big as the telluride and only has 2 rows, but still drives nice, is practical, and spacious with its 2 rows. I still really like the Value and space the telluride offers too
My wife and I bought a new fully loaded Sorrento back in 2014 with the new redesign that she liked and I didn’t wanted it cause the brand Kia but she liked the car and I liked the price lol we’ve had it for 6+yrs it’s sitting at 52k miles and it’s been a solid car only issue we had was the shocks for the power lift gate went out but they were covered under warranty. But now it’s starting to show signs of wear like paint peeling off the driver side next to windshield and I’ve seen other sorentos with same issue. I guess it’s a good cara if you plan on keeping them not too long, for us it’s time to trade it in and wife wants the telluride but most like it we going to lease it
M.A D - Architect Gas mileage is on regular gas when the other vehicles take premium and the throttle response may have been at a lower setting. Put into Sport mode. No lag. I have a SX with all the bells. When you see those orange daylight running lights coming you move a side. Hope this helped.
What do you like or not like about the new Telluride?

The fact that it’s a KIA doesn’t make a difference. There is a lot to like. I want one bad!

Neeshia Albrecht the Hyundai Palisades is extremely luxurious and very sexy and loaded
@Der Schwindel sure that's your opinion but I think it looks minimalist and understated...just the way I like it. I'm extremely picky with design and I think the rear tail lights are distinctive and cool, just like the front yellow DRL.. One of the best designed SUVs out there of any class imo...
alexandergoldman the front day time running lights are hideous and the whole crossover looks a mess lol but I see you like it lol
I love my Telluride! Have 12k miles, no issues and lots of compliments. Can't believe its a Kia. Don't let the name turn you away. Lots of value for the price!
That’s great to hear 😁👍
@@PrimeAutotainment what's best ride ? Palisade or Telluride
It’s been a while since I drive the Telluride, but both were very comfortable riding vehicles. At the time I had the Palisade, I thought that was maybe softer...but looking back I think the Telluride had a slightly better ride. The structure of the vehicle is nearly identical but I’m pretty sure they use some different suspension components
wait until you get to 70-100k miles...then we'll talk
They're catching up...
That warranty nullifies the “but its a kia” notion. Kia and Hyundai is really pushing hard to join the Japanese brand level. The consumers are the real winner here.
Appetit Bon WTH? Should i boycott german brands too?
Appetit Bon japan was bombed by the US twice
Appetit Bon what’s gonna happen in the future then? Why is it horrible for the Japanese’s future? Your reason is very shallow, try harder.
Appetit Bon no i don’t. Regardless of any reason man, nobody is boycotting Japanese cars especially toyota and lexus. Unless they have a significant decrease in quality and reliability. Sorry.
Yeah you can't beat the warranty! And it is a beautiful vehicle. I like it
I like how real you sound. You don’t have that typical RUclips voice where your pitch alternates from high to low.
Thank you!
Thanks
That’s awesome! I was super impressed with it too. Definitely beat my expectations. Thanks for sharing and enjoy when you get it 😁👍
you recommend the Telluride ? I was thinking about it but riding in back is really rough suspension is just ok
I've had my Telluride since late April - been an excellent vehicle so far - awesome room and drives great. No issues.

A couple of decades ago, Korean Samsung and LG brand image were far behind of Japanese Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba. But now they have the highest quality and brand image. One day, Hyundai and Kia will do the same.
It's happening now my friend
LG is still a piece of shit at least phone wise
@@timmoritz7145 there v60 is pretty damn good. Better then samsung.
Hyundai really hasn't been a bad brand , while thier company has came up. Nissan, and Toyota have fallen a bit on quality. Hell they build engines for one of the most bad ass military tanks in world right now, that leaves the American Abrams in the dust .
In my eyes it's already happened. Now on to competing with the Germans.
A lot of people don’t know the value of kia but my 2013 kia works excellent and looks brand new and I will buy this Kia telluride in 2020
My '07 Hyundai ran great for 90k miles, my 2014 Kia Optima runs great and just had a steering problem fixed for free on warranty after 7 years, and my new '20 Telluride is everything I could ask for in a quiet, smooth, luxury feel SUV.
I saw a Telluride on the streets and it looks awesome.
Just got my Telluride!! Love it. The third row seat is awesome
That’s sweet, glad to hear it! 👍
I have been a loyal GMC Terrain/Acadia consumer since 2011. I am proud to say that as of Tuesday, I am now an owner of the Telluride. Beautiful car, smooth ride, excellent warranty.
Glad to hear it, enjoy! 😁
Had our Telluride going on 3 months now and we love it!!!!

I got my black EX yesterday! So excited! I love it!
Love kia
dude you shouldve waited for 2021 optima, that new design is just mind blowing

Galaxy but would you drive a Kia?
@@mt2nv1 I'm driving one now... Optima
I have to say Kia and Hyundai have really moved up scale now and this one shows it. I have a Kia sedona and I love it.
I have a 2020 telluride RWD. I love it. I run it in eco mode most of the time and get 24-25 MPG around town and 30 On the highway. You mentioned the sluggish on downshift. Mine does that too in eco mode but you put it in sport and it very responsive.
Agree, Sport makes it fun to drive.
I saw this on the street for the first time from the back and legitimately thought it was a range rover at first
Just upgraded my 16 Kia Sorento for a 21 Telluride. It was really hard to part with my Sorento but I'd been eyeing the Telluride since it came out. So far I love it!
Thinking of doing exactly that.
@@robinbryant1815 I love mine!
Very nice, you’ve got a sweet ride and it truly impressed me. Thanks for writing in and watching!
Ouch... I don’t know if I should laugh or cringe lol
When people tell me they have a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge, I react the same way they do when they here Kia. I laugh my ass off.
Got my SX Premium yesterday. Best bang for your dollar. Beautiful vehicle and well equipped

I can't wait to get my telluride im claiming it .

With the 2021 you can get LED lights on the EX with the Premium package.
So today I went on a hunt for pretty much the same “must haves” in my vehicle, I literally just texted him, & said “I never thought I would say this, but I like the Kia Telluride”
I love the look of the Range Rover but it just isn’t roomy enough for me so I couldn’t get it with still having to tote around 3 kids.
Good luck!
Great Review, I like listening to someone talk about the good and the bad. Thanks!
It’s a beautiful SUV, we almost got one but we got the sorento loaded. We will get the Telluride in a couple years
Like this video. Particularly the pics of the LED headlights vs the standard halogens. Very helpful. Probably pushes me towards the SX
Thanks! The headlights are great for sure...you could easily replace the halogen with aftermarket LED or HID if you want. Might not be as good or long lasting though
I have aftermarket LED lights in my car that help quite a bit
My 2011 Kia still runs like it’s brand new. I love Kia.
Phillip Shelton exactly!! I have an 2012 optima with no issues!
Do you know any car from 2011 that doesn’t run after 8 years?
@Josh D Bullshit. There is no empirical evidence for that argument. My friends Tundra had to have a full frame replacement due to rust issues, which were so bad it became a safety issue.
Until summer 2017 my family used a 2003 Kia Sedona and had less problems than our new car
Odd the 'it's a Kia' thing. Outside of the States Kia is cleaning up the likes of Toyota and other leading car manufacturers. Kia is the Samsung of automobiles.
the throttle response will improve in time with driving it it learns your driving patterns
Use sport mode. See if that helps.
Poor mans rolls royce 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏻💪🏽
I just took a 1900 mile trip in the Telluride EX AWD and consistently got over 28 mpg loaded a on cruise at 80 mph.
As afar as throttle response, it sounds like the reviewer was driving in ECO mode all the time.
That’s great to hear! It all depends on speed, wind, temperature..and more. Pretty much never drove in eco though lol
Larry R He had to be in ECO mode. Mine nearly knocks your head back when taking off.
Nah no eco mode lol. Once it finally downshifts it’s goes but compared to others in the class..it takes longer and hesitates more.
Yeah my neighbor has one brand new and her windshield cracked in less that 3 months. I was amazed and humored.
Give the 2020 Ford Explorer a test drive.
I seen one today and I thought it was a range rover . Nice SUV !!!!
When it's just the orange glowing its perfect.
We have the palisade sel awd and I get 31 mpg on highway doing 65 and in city I get 23 mpg
That’s great to hear...sounds like the EPA ratings need to change! 🤷♂️. Thanks for sharing that 👍
A few comments, Nolan...
Well-said!
You working out of the Kia Irvine, CA office? ;-)
Good man.
It’s quite a bit bigger...but doesn’t take long to get used to it’s size
I traded a CRV. There's a big difference in gas mileage. But the drive and comfort of the Kia is so much better. I don't drive far so gas mileage was not that important to me.
I really liked how you put the dislikes first so it doesn’t sandbag my opinion of the truck.
For people in the know, Kia is a great brand IMO.
This car is my latest obsession.
Worked at kia and sold ton of tellurides and got one for myself as well
Fyi in the winter the windshield wipers will not lift up when clearing snow/ice off. They are tucked almost under the hood so far that they have to move up a few inches to lift them. Weird design great vehicle tho
Kia's moving upmarket. Some of premium features are available only on the most expensive trim.
Great review!
Can the "adaptive" part of the cruise control be turned off (like on a Chevy Blazer)?
I’ve had one a little over a year and my one gripe is the remote start app that you have to PAY for...$25/month...terrible for the customer!
Yeah, that's terrible...I wish they wouldn't do that!
Hyundai palisade does that same thing!! Smh

Thank you! For sure lol. Hopefully people don’t dismiss it without at least checking it out.
People are scared of Kia and Hyundai because of resale value and dependability. How does it rank in these areas?
I just parked next to one of these and had to do a double take because I thought it was a Range Rover! I would definitely consider getting one of these if they add a little power to it.
I get, absolutely understand why people don’t like Kia’s, there first few years they produced crap. I rented one and was blown away! Amazing quality and ride.
The EX has the option of captain’s chairs if you get the premium package (which also adds 20” wheels, etc.)
Just bought one and I like it more room and my first new car. But it reminds of a new blazer got the eight seats regardless of it being a Kia.
46 K fully loaded? In Northern Calif. where I live the dealership wanted 56K , a 10K matk up above MSRP just because is the novelty .
Dang that’s ridiculous. I’ve heard of that happening almost everywhere though which is a shame. Definitely wait a while to buy one if they keep doing that
same down here in SoCal unfortunately
I really like this model. I am concerned about the customer services at both dealerships.
Glad y’all like it I work w supplier who starts the welding of the main frame. Well done Kia we love the new telluride
You totally just made me want to buy this car you did an awesome job showing the car better then the huy i met at kia dealership lol
Haha thank you! It’s a pretty sweet ride!
If you want to see more detail about basically every part of the vehicle I have a 39 minute video here: ruclips.net/video/pz_wwwV1udQ/видео.html
I'd definitely buy it if po$$ible, and take out all the back seats, travel coast to coast.Great car video
gregory thank you! That would be awesome!
Sharp looking vehicle! Definitely looks smaller in person on the outside than it does in pictures. Wish they also had a 5 seat configuration!
Yes it really does...weird how that works lol
Don't they all have a 5 seat configuration? Just leave the 3rd row folded down.
@@nickanthony90 in top trim, that would make it a 4 seater:)...
As far as the slow throttle response, I didn't catch what the transmission is: if it's a CVT that would explain it; if not, it's maybe a slow transmission downshift - or somehow just slow to pick up speed - it is a heavy vehicle after all.
It’s a regular automatic. It’s smooth but takes a bit to get going and probably because if the weight like you said!
Whats the problem with the throttle response? Im interested in buying one.
My 2020 Ford Explorer st has been perfect!
Dislike #5 says it all. Hard for many of us to get past the Kia name. But the value is there for sure, and I like the exterior styling better than the Highlander. Looks a little bit like a Land Cruiser.
Gorgeous vehicle....I love the bucket seats and features.
Yeah but that rarely happens with Asian cars. Germans cars are the ones that break constantly.
well made summary review. Keep it up. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I like this suv. Compared to the palisade I really like the electric 3rd row. Kias dash is nicer.
Have mine and I have no regrets....its the best deal under 40k its spacey luv it.....great miles..it makes everyone turn their heads!!! I have so much space in it
I agree
Is this still true about the second row "bench vs captains chairs" in the 2nd row? I'd heard the same thing last year that once you went to the top level SX trim, the 2nd row bench was NOT an option, but now I'm not sure, as the Kia config seems to allow a 2nd row bench in the top level SX? Can anyone confirm?
Just bought a telluride 3 days ago, the dealership had a couple SX with 2nd row benches, most were captain seats tho. The EX we bought had captain seats
Is this SUV a Hyundai Palisade with a different face? Great video. 👍🏽
Thank you! Pretty much, yes, except they have slightly varied styles on the inside too and a little bit of a different feature set. Mechanically the same though
Prime Autotainment if you HAD to, like if your life depended on it, which one would you chose??
Mariah Martinez haha, I hope my life never depends on it, but I would go Telluride! I actually got to drive the Palisade a couple months ago and love it too, but the Telluride seems more my style. So similar though
Prime Autotainment lol! I hope your life never actually does depend on that either!😜
Thank you for your response, it helps a lot! I REALLY like these!
You’re welcome! They’re very impressive. Out of all brand new 3 row vehicles this competes with..it’s probably the best bang for buck
Well here the Land Rover I'd garbage. Unreliable.
Thank you for sharing. I like this, however I can't afford it at the moment just wishful thinking.
I hear ya. It’s very nice but spendy!
Great review, great job!
Thank you!
MPG may be lower than the Explorer but I’m willing to bet the Kia still runs at 70k miles.
Bottomfeederonfire so would the explorer
My new Explorer is performing great.
Can you do a video on the passport 😩 I’m conflicted between this and the passport
I got one here: ruclips.net/video/WRxweptW7ug/видео.html
I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time with it though. It’s not quite as big as the telluride and only has 2 rows, but still drives nice, is practical, and spacious with its 2 rows. I still really like the Value and space the telluride offers too
Passport is a 5 seater, check out honda pilot
Kia killed it with this car👌
My wife and I bought a new fully loaded Sorrento back in 2014 with the new redesign that she liked and I didn’t wanted it cause the brand Kia but she liked the car and I liked the price lol we’ve had it for 6+yrs it’s sitting at 52k miles and it’s been a solid car only issue we had was the shocks for the power lift gate went out but they were covered under warranty. But now it’s starting to show signs of wear like paint peeling off the driver side next to windshield and I’ve seen other sorentos with same issue. I guess it’s a good cara if you plan on keeping them not too long, for us it’s time to trade it in and wife wants the telluride but most like it we going to lease it
Shocks going out at 52K? Wow says a lot for the reliability 👎🏻
Other than the gas mileage and the throttle response it sounds like a good car to me. I'll put it on my list.
M.A D - Architect Gas mileage is on regular gas when the other vehicles take premium and the throttle response may have been at a lower setting. Put into Sport mode. No lag. I have a SX with all the bells. When you see those orange daylight running lights coming you move a side. Hope this helped.
