Regarding KIA long term regarding KIA reliability I have had three KIA,s (1) 2011 Sorento , 75,000 miles, no problems (2013 Optima Hybrid 64,000 miles, no problems) Presently driving a 2014 KIA soul, just turned 64,000 miles, have replaced (1) battery and one set of tires, It has had two trips from Yuma AZ to New Jersey, approx. 7000 miles each. Great Long distance car, Still running strong. I'm sold on KIA.

Hi, just curious to know if you’d still recommend the 2023 Telluride. Assuming you’ve had yours for over two years 😃
I've had mine for over a year and it's still so comfortable! My family and I love our Telluride!!
Hi Courtney,
I was thinking about getting a Telluride myself. What can you say about the gas. Will $40.00 fill the tank or more. Right now I pay $3.00 a gallon.

Great review. I’ve had my SX AWD Telluride since Halloween and I am very happy with it. I do not use the auto open feature on the back hatch because it will try to open when I am walking behind it and my garage door is closed. It has been cold lately so I need to close the garage door to take my daughters inside if they are asleep.
I traded in a 2019 Volvo XC60 for a Telluride. Still love the Volvo but I needed more space and this is easier to move around in than the XC90 with a more useable 3rd row at a lot lower price. Of course, the quality of the materials are not the same as Volvo’s but it is still a great buy because of all the features the Telluride comes with.
Not that it matters but I have received more compliments on the Telluride than I did on the Volvo. People cannot believe it is a Kia. I have had retail store employees walk past it at store pick up spots because they are looking for a Kia. I had to ask them who they were looking for. 😂 Some friends did wonder why I downgraded but once they see it they understand. I will never put on the “other” Kia badges on. Not judging people who do but I don’t get that.
I drive a lot and I only get about 360 miles per fill up where I would get closer to 410 with the Volvo. They both have similar mpg. It feels odd to only pay $28 to fill up because it only needs 87 but I would prefer to pay a little more and gas up a little less often. I am averaging 20.8 mpg. But overall, all of the extra cargo space is worth it.
and you are one of the ones that bought it over sticker hurting the rest of us that refuse to buy unless discounted?
@@gosman949 I live in San Antonio and bought my Telluride in Austin because I refused to pay the markups in town. If you noticed, I mentioned that I bought mine on Halloween. Some dealerships will do what they need to do at the end of the month to hit their monthly goals. I would recommend you do some legwork instead of being “one of those” that plays the victim and I will continue to be “one of those that is enjoying their Telluride now.”
James, I heard that some things can be covered with alum foil which restricts that activity. Have you tried it? Grandma
@James Barron well it's almost Halloween, I live in Austin, and in the market. Maybe I should check it out. Where did you go in Austin and how did you like the dealership?

What's the serious flaw?
There are three vehicles that always catch my eye, this Telluride, the current generation Ford Mustang GT, and a Porsche 911. Well done Kia.
The current model Mustang GT got me, I bought one and it’s been awesome. It is truly enjoyable to drive. After reading about the engineering, features, and loving how it looks, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Yes, it’s not practical, but I am still happy with it.
First year production? I lived it in 2021 when I placed an order for a Ford Maverick. Ordered in November, received in April 2022. This is the Ecoboost XL. The thing gets GREAT gas mileage as a gas engine. Typically doing 26-28mpg city and 30-33 highway. Love my Maverick, but should have ordered the 4K tow package because I now tow a small cargo trailer. I feel like I'm pushing the 2000lb weight limit with my trailer that weighs about 1500lbs all-in, but the truck pulls like it's not even there. Going to pay it off and make some considerations for future vehicles. The Telluride is on my radar. Do good things, Kia. When you reach the point where you can out-build the Japanese giants, you'll know you've truly made it as a company. DON'T BE MITSUBISHI.
I have always hated Kia my wife really wanted one so i caved to make her happy. This car is absolutely amazing i was looking for something to hate with car to say told you Kia sucks. This car is amazing she has been averaging 25 mpg FWD not AWD. This truly feels and drives like a luxury vehicle. I tore this car apart for months to find something wrong. I love everything about this suv. I seriously could not find 1 thing i hated. Worth every penny!!!
Wait after 5 to 7 years then you will see....give it time. Most vehicles are ok up to that point, only time will tell afterwards thats how I see modern cars today
Living in the world with NO Integrity trust me enjoy it as long as it lasts!
I've had my Telluride for almost a year now in August. put almost 11k km on it. telluride is great i drove 1175 km = 14 ish hours plus stopping for snacks and what not non stop great comfort i have a baby seat and a booster seat in back with the mother and they all were comfortable. fuel economy is great i had the 4Cyl turbo 2015 Sorento for this and had the same.

As of the end of January 2021. I have had my Telluride for a year now. It's a solid SUV but it's not Flawless by any means. I will say the all-wheel drive is definitely worth it! I found that Smart mode is the best mode. Regardless of weather or fuel economy.

This is the first SUV that I've bought that I have no buyer's remorse whatsoever. Not only does it look good but for the money, no other SUV comes close. The model previewed was closer to the top model. We got ours for $37k. They are(or were) in extreme demand so it took us about 2mos of waiting for the model we wanted.
The model previewed WAS the top model.
"One Year Ownership" video reviews like these are invaluable. "Car Buyer's Remorse" is real and "Car Buyer's Regret" is excruciating. :(
Grass is usually greener on the other after you start looking closer...life is full of would of, could of, and should ofs; it's how we operate. I learned never to buy a base trim Subaru (WRX)...any model. And this should apply to most other makes and models too...
@@K03sport why?
@@luperon...feature set. At time of purchase, I did not want certain colors (blk, wht, sil, gry), or a 15yo engine design (EJ25 in the STi) and I didn't want a sunroof. Only trim that met my needs/wants, was a red base wrx. [the series.white would have been perfect if it wasn't white]. After having the car for 16 months, I've learned premium and limited trims of the WRX make the short comings of the car more tolerable/easier to deal with. ALL WRX suffer from the same deficiencies/flaws and the upper trims (incl the Series.color cars) smooth out some (not all) of the "rough" spots. My base has been flawless in operation, but there are certain features present in the other trims that would have been nice to haves; not necessary, but nice...
@@K03sport how is having an engine that is proven a drawback. I have so far crossed a 191000 on a ej20t
@@davidsantos1576...Great question. EJ20 & EJ25 are different animals. Depends on your thinking/mindset. Personally, I didn't want an engine that was roughly unchanged since 2004. There are other reasons why I didn't choose an STi, despite it being the superior car. The "look at me" rear wing is one. It's bad enough I get stepped up to by mustangs and camaros on my daily commute in a plain-Jane, fishbowl, wrx; I could only imagine what it would be like in the STi. Somehow others think it is an invitation to show off. Within a month with my wrx, twerps in "daddy's" type-r asked me if my car was fast while getting coffee at the local Starbucks...
Superior or not, I did not want an STi, but in hindsight, maybe I should have. Or possibly a G70 sport 6m.
Car & Driver got it hung up on loose dirt in Montana! Had to get towed out!!
Two things..it needs a digital dash with turn signal cameras (like the Hyundai) and it needs to park itself, not just pull in and out of a space. Those features would be win win for me.
It has the turn signal camera in the middle of the dash. It works great. I have had a 2021 SX AWD since Halloween. The 2021 comes with remote start where the 2020 didn’t.

Idk i just bought one and got the full extended warranty that covers everything to 100k miles just to be safe
Ask owners of the Kia Borrego, which are still on the road more than 10 years later and many have high mileage on them. The Borrego was an amazing SUV that just got released at the worst possible time. the Telluride is basically a rebooted Borrego except they left out the 8 cylinder option which is a shame because that's one of the best engines of the past 15 years.

@@islandon22 literally every automaker has recalls. Google Toyota or Honda engine failure and you get the same headlines. Hell Ford screwed it's customers over on it's Ecoboost failiures.
@@Jaqen-HGhar not at the level of Hyundai/Kia. I'm betting that between the Pony and the Excel, and all the disastrous cars (Sephia, Accent...) in between, if you look at their entire history, they have more engine recalls and SETTLEMENTS than Toyota and Honda combined. A few years back, I was a Marketing Director at a Hyundai Dealership and had to deal with leaking windshields, side windows coming off their tracks, etc. for 2 months and left before they drove me nuts. Sorry, but I would be very wary of having a Hyundai/Kia as my sole transportation. My wife made that mistake with a Sephia before meeting me. She won't even get in one.
Great job with the monologue and explanation. I really enjoyed it.
Helpful review. I have an 19 Ascent but am considering other possibilities due to the bad seats. They are too firm and uncomfortable for anything but short trips.
I have a 2020, but had to get the second highest model, the EX. The top model wasn’t in stock anywhere.
I have one major intermittent problem, though. At times, on start-up, the dash lights up with alerts that none of my safety guidance systems are working. Upon a restart, it’s okay, but sometimes it takes two or three restarts. Very annoying, but it’s very intermittent.
Also, because I’m so stupid, I can’t figure out how to set it up so the dome lights come on when I open the door, and if I put a destination into the GPS, I can only pause the route. Where the hell is the cancel route function?
One more thing:
I’m an old fart (64), and have a long history of minor panic attacks. Nothing serious, but one of the times I would kind of freeze up and sense one coming on is when passing an 18-wheeler on the highway. Well, it’s exactly a year since I got the Telluride, and not one single instance of this. It’s just an effin’ pleasure to drive.
The Telluride SX is still really difficult to get. The used market value will remain higher for a while.
Just ordered mine from the factory for MSRP, it’s going to be a 4-6 month wait…
Use it in the winter in the Northern States. Car & Driver got it centered and hung up in a loose dirt pile and had to get it towed out...by the A-arms since there are NO TOW HOOKS.
Designed & Built in USA! Still can't find a stock/inventory in my state though - unless I pay a 6-8k dealership markup 😥😥
Whenever I see things automatically open and close I see failure in the future, all this little gimmicks are lazy marketing trends, don't buy into them, manual things are easier on the pockets, I'm glad they have the manual drop seats, hearing the story of the tailgate opening up into a bike rack would make me cry, its just like another vehicle hitting your exterior, damage will be similar,
You must not have kids… automatic features like that are great to have.
Come back and do a review on it when it has 80K miles on it and see what went wrong..
1 year review is not really good in gauging the long-term reliability of a product..
In fact do a 100K review on it, and let's see if it holds up as well as say a Toyota or Honda...
Exactly. I'm at 210,009 with no issues. People should wait until a model is 10 years old with 100,000+ miles on it before saying it's reliable. How do they know when it's only been out a few years!,

this review omits 3 factors; the passenger seat has no lumbar or other adjustments like the driver seat; the engine is direct injection, a concern for longevity.; the rate of depreciation.
we have the Hyundai Palisade, bought it August of 2019 and have just over 25k mi on it. overall it is a great vehicle, rides smooth, gets great MPG for us at 25+mpg hwy, and pulls my enclosed utility trailer easily when needed. The only issue we have had is the body shop getting parts in for it after a deer decided to run out in front of us. oh and it looks better then the Telluride.
This is a really good review
My rav4 hybrid 2019 xse front camera died after 4 months and it took 1 week to replace and to this day driver lock system on driver side dies 2 out of 10 times of use and my car is not fully equipped no parking sensors or wireless charge pad
Anyone who pays more than sticker price for a car is crazy.
Especially a Kia
@@user-tb7rn1il3q
or Hyundai
The few SUV coupes that pulled it off well are the Atlas Cross Sport, the Q8, & the Evoque/ Velar with their shapes & designs
I do love the look of the Q8
You just named the worst reliable SUVs on market
The Atlas has horrid reliability
The Q8 design is really not a “coupe” look, that’s why it looks better than the others in its class.
You know its a good car when your in house Ben Affleck actually buys one :)
I've got a strong feeling that Kia and Hyundai will drop the 3.3L twin turbo V-6 in the Telluride and Palisade. How does Kia Telluride SX turbo sound?!🤔 If you look at the rear exhaust of both of these SUV'S it looks like they are planning on adding two more exhaust tips to the left side, humm.....🤔
Telluride keeps wowing. I agree the cubby holes being limited. My phone wouldn't fit in the wireless charging area.
What kind of phone do you have
@@mejdhutchison7357 OnePlus 8 Pro (6.51 x 2.93 x 0.35 in). To be fair the phone fits if it doesn't have a case.
That grill is bold and gorgeous. The designers copied from the best, I can see they took it from Jaguar and Range Rover. Good choice.
Designer used to work at Audi. Trending goes around.
Design looks good but easily damaged by road debris. Mine has a softball size hole fro a rock. Look on eBay and you’ll find several grilles new and used (with damage).
They made it their own. Proud to plow through traffic with my tiger-nose grill.
The hand sanitizer sunscreen was wicked funny
What a beautiful car. Checking it out now!!! I'm highly Impressed...thats not easy for me.
I like this car a lot but this is so bias. For the bike rack, i stuck foam on my bike rack along the side facing the trunk. Twice it opened on my back rack, no visible damage =)
1 year is not a long term...come back in 9 years. Let's see what happens after the warranty has expired. Then you can talk to me about reliability.
So right! And what this thing will be worth in 5 years.
@@elsaspringer4186 Past antecedents suggest that it will hold up years after the warranty expires. Yes, it remains to be seen, but Kia is a very proven brand.
@@elsaspringer4186 Come back in five years so we can all laugh at you.
Well, I doubled my warranty for peanuts, so I’m not really worried.
Come back in 9 years and let’s see if Chevy is still in business.
My point exactly. Kia or Hyundai is not a brand that lives up to durability and reliability.
Any comments on the windshield issue?
I've had my Telluride for a year thank God. I haven't had an issue with about that. The horror stories are real about those windshields.
"watering these invisible flowers in the desert is genuinely irritating. especially while I'm standing next to the auto-open lift gate. darn..."
Great video, thank you so much this was super helpful!
Are those normal 60,000/100,000 standard warranties that come with the vehicle purchase? Thanks!
I have owned mine for well over 1 year. It is ok but major problem with getting parts, including windshield and passenger which both cracked. This is my last Kia.
My windshield was cracked too by a rock and started spreading pretty quick. The dealership had it changed out in about a week. I was shock that thin windshield was a known problem and was covered and changed for free.
I will stick with my muranothat has similar Hp (360 vs291)and PWR, better mpg(24vs 21)
And suprsinflt more cargo room bend rear seats and wi
Let us know how did it hold up after 10 years.
Excellent video‼️I wish I would have seen this before I purchased as I would have gotten the higher model.
Who puts a thumbs down on these videos? Its a video about a car. Did you like not the reviewer or the car? If you don't like either, go to another video?
Great lesson. Thanks man
Love that car. I hate that it’s cheaper than my Infiniti QX60. I love my Infiniti but I think the Telluride is better.
