people who havent taken fitness seriously before think that the six pack is the best thing you can get out of the gym, but the reality is the most beautiful thing of all is the discipline and self respect that it fosters. when the body is worked and refined the mind will be freed up to work on the rest.

Thing is you don't even get a six pack in the gym...it's in the kitchen but I get the point. Self respect and discipline are far better than any of the physical stuff but both are entwined.

"It is a SHAME for a man to grow old, WITHOUT ever seeing the BEAUTY & STRENGTH of which his body is capable of." BRAVO...Bravissimo. In my youth, right up to around my very early 20's...there were a few times whereby i was able to "see" and appreciate just what my body was capable of. Now, at 56...I've moved myself into yet another stage of "finding my capabilities", within my aged-body. So far, it's coming together organically and nicely. Start where you are. ✌🌱💪

Doesn’t matter who I am. I’ve fallen into a bad place physically. I am writing this with a milk chocolate bunny in my left hand after just eating 6 peeps. No one needs to know but myself and this comment section.. but from now on until I need to change; lifting, running, good mobility, and a protein focused diet with enough carbs to fuel activity. That’s it. Everything else is momentary but this will stay. It’s time. I lost my brother last May and I am where I am now, but in honor of him and of myself.. it’s on.

    1. Eat and prioritize protein (chicken, steak and eggs)
    2. Lift heavy 1-2 reps till fail, 5-6 days a week, 2 rest days
    3. 10k steps per day min
    4. Not needed but Creatine Monohydrate and supplement w/ whey/casein helps - check the R&D

-Gram a protein per lb of lean bodyweight
-Eat 500 cals over maintenance bulking and 500 - 750 under maintenance cutting
-Pick some type of not tardded training program and stick to it.

As a matter of fact, I started going to the gym when I was 16 years old. Because of my high metabolism, I had an 8 pack abs and a pectoral muscles size that even women couldn't dream of.
My body suddenly gave me bad news. I am suffering from a serious illness, there is no possibility of cure in the world, only regular monthly injections to maintain. At that time, I was dim, and my body became no different from ordinary people, and my spirit, energy, and state were very low.
In fact, fitness is just a form of personal life attitude and self-worth, and a sunny and healthy body reflects that you are a self-disciplined and sunny person.
How to accept what you can't change, and change what you can; And how to do things that make you have a sense of accomplishment in a limited life is a lifelong topic that I need to think about.

Dad bod here. I’m about to turn 50 and am taking “small steps” over here past few months to get into some kind of decent shape, which I haven’t really been in, in probably 20 years. Fasting, keto, peloton 3x/week. I know it’s not much but it has given me enough motivation to start watching videos like this, which plant seeds. I’ve seen and felt some improvement in weightloss and energy levels, but my body is seemingly stuck at 30lbs overweight (down from 60). The nightly 4 - 6 beers certainly don’t help but my life is highly stressful and that is my stress buster. Need to drop that stupid habit. It is my deep desire to finally have a naturally strong, lean and healthy body.

When i was young ive spent hours and hours in the gym. and could not find anything positive in that. I've felt that im wasting the time that i can spend educating myself on business and the like. I also didn't enjoy it - it was a lot of pain and discomfort and no pleasure whatsoever. Also i could barely afford it, or so i thought.
So, i dumped the gym & eventually grinded to support a new family, raise 3 kids, grinding all the time. Now im 40 and i have zero time to spare between trying to provide for family and spending quality time with the family, but im still watching videos like this, trying to justify 'wasting' several super precious hours of my life a day into pain suffering and no result in hopes that some result will eventually be there.

About one month ago i was feeling AMAZING, working out getting stronger bigger etc. Then i took some rest days to recover from the intense workouts and maybe took longer rest than i should have. Then when i got back everything felt off, it was a shit workout and haven't been to the gym in weeks because of one bad workout. This video may be just the motivation i needed to take it seriously and keep going

I too strive to be fit and healthy. I want a lean body and my primary focus is my health longevity. I've just turned 29 this passed Sunday and I've been back to the gym since March of this year (been out the passed 5 yrs). However, with my new found motivation and the proper grit i can do it by the grace of God.

Same here, when I turned 21, I went to the gym not knowing I was gonna get a change physically. I’ve always been to the gym, but not on a consistent basis. This time I was going to the gym consistently and little did I know, I got big and jacked. And I kept working out ever since.

@@mikealan1984 First and foremost; do it for you and you alone, don’t do it for anybody else. Second; them folks in the gym are too worried about themselves to be worried about anyone else, including you. So overall, just do you. Also, every body’s different, don’t expect to get the same physique as the famous person, but most definitely don’t expect to get the results that fast, it takes time. As long as you keep progressing and keep pumping that iron, stay disciplined, you’ll see the results. You got this. 👍🏾

I am 76 and have been lifting since 14. I have always believed in health and fitness. Its like if someone gave you a beautiful race car as a gift. Are you going to let it just sit there and rust or are you going to keep it fine tuned for as long as you can. Its all about choice and discipline. If you spend an hour in the gym a few times a week, its one of the most important things you can do for your health ... trust me on this one. I am still at it.

My body improved when I sought knowledge and increased my intellect through daily self-study. Did I want to lose weight and feel better about myself when looking into the mirror? Yes. Did I start going to the gym and dieting? Absolutely not.
When I found my own version of discipline, of doing hard work, of having rituals and routines when it came to knowledge-seeking, I stopped eating just because it was “time to eat” and I made choices that forced me to be more active like selling my car and walking everywhere. Not only do I now feel the smartest and wisest in my life, I also lost 30 pounds in less than a year without even trying that hard.
Find something your passionate about-anything- and keep physical health in the back of your mind while you pursue those passions and see how your body changes in the process ❤

I’ve been dong it for a year and aside from the general aches (that toughen you up), you’ll get incredible muscle, cardio and flexibility gains as well as learning a valuable self-defence skill. It’s also extremely fun to train!

u have no idea what it is like for ppl who are on 4-6 potent medications due to severe medical issues. it makes u stuck in the mud, despite putting in the same effort as someone who eats well, sleeps well, goes to the gym 5x a week. It makes it that much harder. u get the same results as someone who works out for 6-8 months after 3-4 years. obviously, this only applies to a very specific subset of ppl, but nonetheless can be so demoralising to keep going. watching ur vids inspires us to be the best to keep going despite all
