The cookie shots aren't a new thing. They've been around for years in the form of molds you could buy to make your own. They're really not at all hard to make. The chocolate coating on the inside is what allows them to be so soft and still hold liquid. The molds also can be used to make thinner cups out of pure chocolate that are a great way to serve mousse.
Anyway, if they look good but the price is an issue, they're really not hard to make.

The chewy gluten-free bread thing makes sense. Unless someone has an active gluten problem like celiac disease, gluten is not something to avoid. The only way to make gluten-free bread is by adding other unhealthier stuff to it to replace the texture of the gluten. So it actually ends up at being generally worse for you.

    • @johnree6106

Actually you can add things to replace the gluten and still be healthy but you get a more dense and chewy bread which with what mentioned is probably what they did

Hello! I’m from the future! Type 1 diabetes as well as a few other autoimmune conditions are also a reason to lower gluten intake. But now, 7 months after your comment, you can get loaves of practically no carb bread for like $5-$6 at ALDIs and Walmart! And they are the size of normal loaves. I’m only doing this future person bit because they only exploded everywhere over the past year at least up in my area, which is exciting as a type 1. Now I can have grilled cheese sandwiches and not take any insulin.
I bet if you look at the ingredients of the bread in the video it’s like 50 cents worth of materials. It’s a total ripoff!!

One of the shark tank winners was a breakfast sandwich restaurant that put meat and eggs and other breakfast stuff between waffles and other pancake like items. We noted on the show that their test restaurant was near by our home. We decided to try it. Getting to the place was terrible, parking was terrible, finding the exact location was terrible. We got our food and I pretty much determined we could have made these sandwiches at home using Frozen waffles, eggs and lunch meat and it would have tasted better. Also, it wasn't filling so we got dinner after that. Hopefully the shark that took the deal dropped it later.

Why are all these products non-GMO, dairy free, gluten free? Honestly, I couldn't care less as I have no dietary restrictions. They are all expensive as hell too.

I guess because a lot of those products can taste bad so people with intolerancs are willing to pay more for a yummy version. Or people will pay more to feel healthier. There's definitely a lot of money to be made selling "health" foods.

The biggest problem with all of these "Healthy" food options is the extreme price. It does not matter how good they are for you, until the price is sustainable for the average family of 4-5, then it does not matter. The average family cannot afford to eat healthy, unless it's raw, bland foods that we all know kids will not eat.

My husband decided to do a low-carb diet, and did lose weight. But the cost of all the protein and low-carb food alternatives is now just too much to sustain. Smaller portions and cheaper, healthy snacks more often is what we're trying now.
The US government is no help. Farming subsidies mean that it's the unhealthy foods that are cheaper, and the government recommends and provides a very unbalanced diet. Free and reduced school breakfasts and lunches are loaded with sugars and carbs. In the last few school districts I've worked (in different states), breakfasts were cereal, muffins, pastries, or "breakfast cookies," a carton of milk, raisins or flavored dried cranberries, and fruit juice. Lunches are tiny portions of meat, a starch, a vegetable (that few kids eat), fruit (fruit juice counts as a fruit), and a cookie or cake. Some meals have a tomato sauce cup, sun butter, or hummus (that most kids throw away if they even take one) for dipping.
Conspiracy theorists could imagine that the government wants the people to be fat and weak.

11:30 maybe the idea is that after 20 to 60 minutes (of soup or ice cream usage), the spoon becomes soft enough to _then_ eat. Until then, you are supposed to treat it as a spoon. It's like biscotti: they only suck if you don't dunk them into coffee or egg nog.
I still think the majority of these products are too expensive for what you get.

16:10 - Hey Brandon... Just a tip - everything is a "real ingredient". Everything is also all natural because if it wasn't then, wait for it, it wouldn't exist. Literally wouldn't. Don't be fooled by things marketed as "using real, all natural ingredients".

thats why "love" isnt an ingredient they list, because it does not exist. ^_^
