Let's disassemble the 2001 Springer Front End.As I take apart the front end I like to mark the parts so they can go back to the original side htye were on.

I have not loosened both legs at the same time but i thought it would be like a big mousetrap. :) I haven't seen a complete disassembly before so this was great. :) Thank you.
Thanks for watching. I anticipated much more stress on the fork when the rockers were removed. It seems that the "mousetrap" was going to happen when the lower springs compressed..
You might want to continue disassembly to include those lower rockers. Just in case it needs a rocker rebuild, too.
I probably will in the next couple videos. I already inspected those rockers in a previous videos as I set the torque specs cause they had never been serviced, but I was thinking since I already had the front end apart I might as well replace the hemisperical bearing in those rockers, providing I can get new ones.. Seems lots of stuff is discontinued . Not sure when I'll be able to remove the bearing on the stem since the tool I need to remove it is basically out of stock every place I've looked .But the hunt will continue..
Best of luck. I am stalking a 40mph wobble in my ‘01 FLSTS, myself. Tires are under 2k. Pressure’s right. Alignment is spot on. Rockers are serviced. Tightening spokes and true-ing rear wheel fixed about 90%. Today I’m gonna pack head bearings good and take that bearing nut in a quarter turn.
@TomcatSTL ya I would check the head bearings, good luck with it.
i have a 2001 also where it has become very tight steering i was
wondering how that all went together great video . i also thought they should have put grease fittings for those bearings but they didnt have a good one .
Thanks for watching the grease fitting in the steering neck basically does nothing, not really sure why it's even there.
Springer front ends are always a mystery to me. some liking some don't I think there cool....
Ya, lots of moving parts, more than most people think.
