I think you’re missing the point of the trailer, respectfully. This isn’t a scenario that IS happening, this is what COULD happen as a result of increasing polarization. There are teachers out there that want to indoctrinate people into their view. In public school, it is less common, but in college/ university level, it is common. It’s a challenge to your views, and it’s something college students actually love, because we get to stand for what we believe in. Doesn’t matter what your faith is, this kind of stuff does happen. So sure, laugh at these movies. They are a little cheesy, but their premises bring up some difficult questions our generation will eventually have to address, and that scares me.
@@MasonStrand sorry, but your argument is BS. First, the Philadelphia vs catholic adoption service is about a religious organization denying gay couples adoptions because of stupid beliefs. I get it religious freedom and all that crapshoot, but in the case of adoption of children the government should be involved. However, the main point is that ruling has nothing to do with homeschooling unless your point is the government shouldn't be involved at all. If that's the case, then who should be involved to make sure abuses are being addressed? Because relying on the church to police themselves is so incompetently shortsighted that anyone that believes that is the way to go would also fall into that category. A bigger issue is at hand here: In a true free nation, Compulsory education should not exist. Parents should have the final say as to how their children should be educated. That would be no different if the Government forced parents not to send their children to a Religious private school or have them homeschooled according to their religious worldview. Many churches want kids in public school to learn that the earth is 6,000 years old. That's not going to happen neither.
It looks like donwplaying the persecution complex in part 3 didn't work, so David A. R. White doubles down on it instead. At least the Cinema Snob episode is going to be fire...
it was pretty obvious that part 3 was a rewrite, this movie seems more like what 3 was supposed to be. Which I was guessing be all about persecution and how it's illegal to speak out against gays and such.. And other things.
No one said we’d be thrown in jail NOW for our faith. It’s the parents going to jail because they won’t let their kids transition, the pastors who have already been sent to jail multiple times this year for hosting church services! It’s by living out your faith and Christian values that collides with the culture, not directly for being Christian. We know wayyyyy more and not to mention, FUND every org that takes care of the PERSECUTED church overseas! We have updated statistics of each and every way the church is put to death, beaten, raped, etc worldwide on a monthly basis! We have suffered with them and lived our lives differently to mourn with and take care of them, and we are not pretending to understand their pain, but we WILL point out the awful spiral in our nation as it takes every step that the countries who are heavily persecuted took to get where they are now. It is because of this deep injustice that we fight for what we have here so that our nation doesn’t end up like there’s!
@@KelseyMcSorley you act like the pastors who were sent to jail for having services this year weren’t causing cases of a deadly virus to rise, they 100% could have held services online which i myself attended through the pandemic and why should a parent be able to tell their child (who is their own person) that they can’t do something to they’re own body if it isn’t hurting them, christians in america act like they are persecuted when they are being held accountable for spewing hate and negatively impacting others we need to self reflect and learn how to spread gods love it is not our place to condemn or judge other people

@@bonzupippinpaddleoxacoppil484 The Russian space station Mir was actually the predecessor to the International Space Station. It remained in Low Earth Orbit from 1986 to 2001, until it's orbit decayed and it crashed to Earth (no one was on it at this time). Mir was the first continuously inhabited long-term research station in orbit and held the record for the longest continuous human presence in space at 3,644 days, until it was surpassed by the ISS on 23 October 2010. It holds the record for the longest single human spaceflight, with Valeri Polyakov spending 437 days and 18 hours on the station between 1994 and 1995. Mir was occupied for a total of twelve and a half years out of its fifteen-year lifespan, having the capacity to support a resident crew of three, or larger crews for short visits. In September 1993, US Vice President Al Gore, Jr., and Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin announced plans for a new space station, which eventually became the ISS. They also agreed, in preparation for this new project, that the United States would be heavily involved in the Mir program as part of an international project known as the Shuttle-Mir Program. The project, sometimes called "Phase One", was intended to allow the United States to learn from Russian experience in long-duration spaceflight and to foster a spirit of cooperation between the two nations and their space agencies, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos). The project prepared the way for further cooperative space ventures, specifically, "Phase Two" of the joint project, the construction of the ISS. The program was announced in 1993; the first mission started in 1994, and the project continued until its scheduled completion in 1998. Eleven Space Shuttle missions, a joint Soyuz flight, and almost 1000 cumulative days in space for US astronauts occurred over the course of seven long-duration expeditions. If you wanted a story about a Christian American Astronaut and a Russian Cosmonaut having deeply involved conversations concerning faith and religion, this would be the setting for it.

As someone who used to go to Bible Studies every Wednesday and to church almost every Sunday I can confirm that there are already plenty of other programs in place other than standard education to teach kids about God and Jesus.

Just judging by the majority of the comments, this is why we need more properly homeschooled kids. We need to teach our children it's not alright to disrespect people and condemn them.
Sir, no one is trying to take your beliefs away in the US. There are countries with real religious persecution, such as China (Muslim Uyghurs, as well as Christians, Buddhists, and also pagan believers), or Iraq during the Iraqi war (Yazidis). The US constitution supports the freedom of belief, so if someone threatens you, you can flag their comment or complain at the court or your boss or someone. But if someone just says that this movie is stupid, or they don’t believe in Christianity because blahblahblah, it doesn’t threaten the constitutional right. Maybe you feel like your religious rights are being taken from you, but there were much worse cases of religious persecution in the history, including numerous genocides, mass murders, laws against religious practices, and so on. This movie is just absurd, because no one should discredit you at court, whether you are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, pagan, or from the Moon cult, that would just be unconstitutional. Therefore, courts and judges and the whole justice sphere must be religiously unbiased. Maybe the court rulings sometimes look a little anti-theistic and unfair in the eyes of some Christians/Hindus/Sikhs/whatever, but the law is the law and religion has no place in it. Most commenters were pointing out, how this movie is just taking the word of God in their mouth to play in the cards of US nationalists. The prominent figures in the US history were mostly Christian, and did some great things, but they certainly weren’t saint. Most of them did also terrible things. It also doesn’t mean, that if the founding fathers were Christians, Christianity should be the official religion in the US
Taught and practiced - because a lot of people from different cultures and religions came into the US. And many Native religions were here before that. Christianity is just the most widespread religion, and people back in the 18th/19th century were more religiously conservative than they are now, which caused that most prominent figures in European, and European-origins majority countries were Christian.
"Religion has been removed from our schools." Duh, because they are PUBLIC schools, meaning SECULAR. meaning if you want religion taught in schools, pay for a private one that does. Wow witty and unique observation there. No you don't say and I don't think it was any in the trailer that they are suffering the same as the 1st century church. We get it. You're upset that this country isn't a theocracy.
A bigger issue is at hand here: In a true free nation, Compulsory education should not exist. Parents should have the final say as to how their children should be educated. That would be no different if the Government forced parents not to send their children to a Religious private school or have them homeschooled according to their religious worldview. That is a First amendment right that the Government has no right to prohibiting religion or the exercise thereof.
Separation of Church and State was not written by Thomas Jefferson just to prevent a White Christian Theocracy (if you are rightfully concerned about that). "God's Not Dead 5: Night of the Living Grift"
American Christians: We’re about to be thrown in jail for our beliefs! I can feel it! 😭 😭
Christians literally anywhere else in the world: 😐
No one said we’d be thrown in jail NOW for our faith.
@@KelseyMcSorley you act like the pastors who were sent to jail for having services this year weren’t causing cases of a deadly virus to rise, they 100% could have held services online which i myself attended through the pandemic and why should a parent be able to tell their child (who is their own person) that they can’t do something to they’re own body if it isn’t hurting them, christians in america act like they are persecuted when they are being held accountable for spewing hate and negatively impacting others we need to self reflect and learn how to spread gods love it is not our place to condemn or judge other people
@@jessicajade6955 Hear hear.
@@KelseyMcSorley They've been sent to jail because they have broken Covid protocols, not because of their faith. You can praise Jesus at home, and in fact, you should, especially when there is a global pandemic sweeping the world and wiping out hundreds of thousands of people. American Christians are not persecuted and will never be. When parts of our faith can be written into laws that govern the people, we are not oppressed. Sorry.
@@jessicajade6955 but yet Walmart, theme parks, & bars were allowed to be open at the same time that churches were forced to close- they even went after house churches with people having a handful of guests over in their own home. This is why they make these movies, to bring attention to the issue.
Homeschooling/unschooling can be hugely damaging.
true to that
@Mr. M I can tell you've never been homeschooled. I was and that shit was isolating to all hell. My education and mental state was definitely damaged until I got myself out of it. It took hell to undo the homeschooled effects and trauma. No one needs to go through that unless you actually have some disability that prevents you from coexisting in society as a whole or at a certain age.
Also the mask situation is valid. There's a global pandemic. This has happened before in history. Yes there are more than two genders since gender is both neuro and a social construct but more leaning on neuro. There are however only two sexes. No one argues that.
@Mr. M Highschool dropout and homeschool are completely different things. My wife was homeschooled and in her 30s is still struggling with basic maths and sciences she's been trying to apply to her own work and studies. There are whole internet forums dedicated to prior homeschoolers banding together to share issues they have had, maybe you should get out and explore their stories and get out of your small safe space.
I used to watch these kind of movies with my family and I'd feel like the world was against us true believers. I then learned the world statistically isn't even Christian and felt justified in my fervor to save the world. I prayed for comprehension and love for others but nothing changed. Then I learned how cultures and peoples work and I studied them for years. I hope any who read this know I used to hit my knees and cry out to God believing I was chosen. I now just want christians to stop pretending to be victims, like they don't have the power... You guys have the power, yet you focus on keeping it instead of using it to wash the poor's feet... You don't bath the down trodden in expensive perfumes to lift them up... This movie is an an insult to your God's power and his justice. If he was really all loving he wouldn't need propaganda from Hercules to make his point. You're his body in this world, I hope you take that calling seriously. Love, someone who once called Yahweh father...
Thank you for this comment it’s people like you who make the world heater for the poor.

There is a RUSSIAN space station? That’s communist and therefore of the devil. We gotta convert them or something!
When I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut. But I have crap vision. So then I wanted to be an astronaut missionary…to go into space and preach about Jesus.

But couldn't you just teach your kids about God at church...or in the car...or by playing Christian music...or during Christmas...or during Easter...or at Bible Study every Wednesday...or before bed during nightly prayer...or during morning prayer...or during Summer...or at a BBQ with your Christian friends...or literally every time you say grace before you eat...or any day of the week after school...or when they ask questions about it...or
As someone who used to go to Bible Studies every Wednesday and to church almost every Sunday I can confirm that there are already plenty of other programs in place other than standard education to teach kids about God and Jesus.

Freedom isn't fragile because we have freedom in Christ. The Bible teaches us to respect human authority, but it also tells us not to place our trust in men.
The authority of the us constitution is what they are fighting in this movie.
It also tells us to teach our kids in Him, and to not keep them from Him. Yet that isn’t an option in public school.

As someone who was abused in a Christian homeschool environment, I’m disappointed that’s one of the main things the movie advocates for.
Sorry to hear about your abuse. We go to an evangelical church with many homeschool families. Why do you say you were abused? Was it mental, physical? Seriously curious. Thanks.

In the meantime why does a Jew need to learn about Jesus or Alah.
Also, since when does a social worker show up to parents who are home schooling?
Man I'm upset, I thought they would form a militia and storm the Capitol to institute a Christian Theocracy....that would have been a good movie.
