    Needless to say we are pretty happy to see this video get made. HUGE thanks to Lamb Chop Rides for making the effort to put this video out and Dynojet UK for providing the profesional dyno services. Bravo.
    Ironically, not only an hour ago we also ran into Chris Fillmore mountain biking in the local hills. (An animal on a Super Duke and only the world record holder at Pike's Peak using this exact same setup with the Rottweiler Intake and PCV) Seems like the Orange Gods are smiling upon us today.

    More an advocate of ecu flashing here....an ecu flash will give more control (and better results) although as you said you already had a "kind of a flash" as it were. A power commander will not allow a flapper valve motor to be removed, it doesnt have injector control either as such and if im not mistaken you get no control over engine braking either but i might be wrong on that one. The power commander guys do say "well it can all be removed if your selling the bike" but, id rather sell mine and say, "its been professionally mapped and the air fuel is bang on, mpg is good and pulls like a train" rather than "its back to stock so underpowered with a choppy throttle!"....nice vid all the same....nothing like seeing bikes getting caned on the dyno!

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  6 лет назад

      +Comfy Sofa yes good point regarding the extra you can do with the flash forgot about flappers etc..

    • @comfysofa1549
      @comfysofa1549 6 лет назад

      Yeah - just an observation....ive bought some bikes that have come with power commanders. Ive removed them and then got them mapped (and the ecu) written and its always been better, plus i sell the power commander to fund the mapping time on the dyno. Having said that - is the ecu on the SDR flashable...some arent so a power commander is the only way to go. The only downside is that if you do sell the bike then it has to go with that engine setup other wise the flashed ecu wont work as the config has changed.

    If you want to spend the money for (just) a 2 / 3 % increase its fine. But the air is cleaner. Less dust. Maybe lower fuel usage. This is also just one of the few videos i found where they test before and after.

    Well done Mr chops, I have much the same setup minus the ignition module. I got 179hp and 109ft at the wheel, went the cheaper option with the arrow midpipe into akra slip on. went from 156hp to 179hp so very happy with that, if you own this bike do the rottweiler upgrade. Its how the bike was meant to be bought out! Keen for more vids on the duke! I really want to know about the oberon clutch slave if it made any difference, especially slipping wheelies in 4th at 100mph as mine feels like it slips a bit.

    Shit that mother is loud. What a difference that Rottweiler map makes with the ignition timing advanced more, that is a serious power gain Mr Chop. Have you any costs for the air box and Dynojets work. The bike is going to be great to ride and the noise will turn heads. Nice vid matey. Can we have some more please? Cheers👍🏻👍🏻🏍🏍

    Hey Mr Chops! Your videos made me envious ( in a good way ) and I went ahead and bought the 5 im kit. I bought a arrow decat link pipe. My question to you is....do you think that the extra horsepower the complete akrapovic system gives comes from the fact that there is no more catalyser? Or is it from the headers ? I have the akra slip on with an arrow decat link pipe but with the original headers. I also have pvc5 and ignition modul. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth for me to pay the 2 grand exhaust line versus the 300$ arrow decat....thx 😬

      Main problem is not having a closed airbox. If you don't keep the filter clean more than regularly, oh get the bike really wet, you may be in for problems. I have a '17 1290 and TBH i don't think i will go for it, power is the least of SD problems. Money better spent on suspensions...

      There may be more reasons than one why KTM doesn't install a similar intake such as the Rottweiler. In the USA, the EPA has a death grip on these designs. The Rottweiler might not pass emissions. The EPA is trying to pass laws to make it illegal to modify a street legal bike and make it a race bike for track use only. Luckily, at this point, it's not going to happen but it might happen soon. The EPA is shoving ethanol down our throats with no regards as to how ethanol affects so many small engines and other engines not designed to run reliably on ethanol. I wish we could bring back tar-and-feathering of politicians as was done in the early years of this country.

    • @Jakalwarrior

      Sound is probably all the biggest reason they don't. Also, a properly designed airbox with functional ram air would make more power than an open one like the Rottweiler.

      in ducati they've changed the ecu on the diavel and its permanently locked so can't flash it or even change it with there factory termigoni exhaust upgrades :( I've debated changing the bike because of it but then i think am i just sulking and do i need more then 162 bhp (crank bhp) for my usage haha

    Hey Lamb Chop, nice job detailing your Dyno session, nice usable power gains were made for sure. I have a 2018 SDR with almost identical mods except I'm running two short 40 velocity stacks. I just installed the ignition module which I purchased through Rottweiler and they have have two timing maps less aggressive with advance from +1 to +4 and more aggressive with advance from +2 to +7 I loaded the less aggressive table till I can get the bike on my friends Dyno at SWR motors, who by the way builds the fastest GSXR 1000 motors in the US right now! Problem is it's winter in the Northeast of the US so I can't get there and he's incredibly busy from now until early summer building engines for 2020 dragracing season, so is there any way you could post up the ignition table for your session as I just want to see what the min and max amount of timing was added to make sure I'm in the safe zone till I can get the bike tuned. Thanks in advance....Gary

    I had to say, the superduke R is one of my favorite looking bikes out there but when I was debating between 1290r , tuono Factory and the FZ10/MT10 ,..I wasn't a fan of the exhaust note of the twin, thought a 1300cc twin would big mean sounding but the one I rode had factory exhaust,..BUT after hearing yours my opinion changed of the King of Torque exhaust note,..just need a proper exhaust system and it sounds epic. The factory stock one I rode sounded like a stock dirt bike but yours sounds like it wants to kick your ass! Mean as hell! Id of gone with the 1290r had I known it could sound like that. Ended up going with the FZ10/MT10 becaue it's a beast, least expensive of the 3,...by far,..and the sound of that crossplane 4 when you de-cat it! Sounds like Rossis crossplane superbike! It of course is no superduke 1290r or tuono Factory, but it's definitely a Super-naked NOT base naked and not far off performance wise of the two Supernaked kings. Now hearing your 1290r I'm second guessing for the first time! The King of supernakeds , king of Torque,...and ,..well it's a KTM,..enough said,...but now knowing it can sound and insanely mean as it looks,...I'm really throwing it back into the mix. I sold my FZ10 after 2 years becaue of some life changes BUT after Jsut a month without my favorite bike I've owned,..I'm need another one! But am back to the debate of MT10, tuono V4 1100 Factory or Superduke 1290R! The Factory was my favorite just by a hair ,..world class top of the line exotic EVeRYtHiNg; suspension, brakes, electronics , chasis, and of course my favorite part, the V4 and the sound it makes with an SC Project full system! Of course the looks are amazing! Nothing like it! BUT $17,500 US is painful, worth every penny, but painful! Not interested in the RR becaue I HATE that aweful tail and seat , color combos are boring too and suspension is nowhere near the Factory Ohlins, plus the Factory IS literally an RSV4 with a handlebar and bigger motor, LoVE the tail on it too, with the Livery it looks like a Moto GP bike! BUT then the reliability issue and having no aprilia dealer anywhere within a days ride. Then there's the SD 1290r,..1300 cc monster!!!! King of the Supernakeds, now that I've heard how mean it CAN sound,..there is NOtHING that isn't absolutely EPiC on that bike! Again tho $17,500 which is also completely worth it but ouch! I don't know much about their reliability and cost to service, I've heard extreme pros and cons???? Thoughts anyone?
    Then of course I'm debating getting another MT10! There was NOtHiNG about it I didn't LOVE! LOVE the look, the crossplane 4, the SOuNd de-cated, with EBC pads added the brakes are awesome, having the suspension set by A Pro and its great, electronics are killer, love the display and now you can get the TFT display from Yamaha for it , have to do the Y-pipe for Moto GP orchestra and SC project is about to release a GP catless titanium shorty for it which will sound INsANe! and while the power is a hair under the other two supernakeds , it's beyond my level so I can grow with it BUT , reflash of the ECU by NelsTune for the exhaust , race filter and the hp surpasses the tuono Factory, SO power is no issue. I always go back to the MT10 becaue after all that it's STILL SO much less expensive than the two Kings , is one of the most reliable bikes on earth , accessability of service and dealer networks , parts are dirt cheap . I can save $7-8,000 even with all those upgrades over the two others and with the upgrades have the same performance,..wel not the torque of the 1290, but everything else. Just alway s feels like a no-brainer to me but there's always that part of me that will always want a 1290R! THE Supernaked! Ughhh! What to do!? The tuono Factory is by Jsut a hair my favorite bike EVER , but won't buy one becaue there's no dealer here or even remotely distant, closest one is about 1,200 miles away and the reliability scares me. Is money was no objiect id do it,..well for that matter of money was no object, I'd buy all 3!
    This would all be more simple if they sold the MT10 SP in the states! Exotic tuono Factory level components in an MT10,..a naked , upright R1M! Yes please ! But they don't sell them here so I need to decide!? I need help! Thoughts anyone????

      I'm in a similar predicament. Just sold my FZ-09 and I'm set on a super-naked for Spring.. Just not sure which. My top two contenders are the Tuono RR (need the passenger seat) and the superduke.

    • @marktodd4479
      @marktodd4479 5 лет назад

      love the tunon but won't go near it because way to many stories of people literally waiting a couple months for a part from the factory. one poor sod waited 2 months and they sent the wrong part, had to wait another 2 months. if you want garage art, buy an aprilla, you want to actually ride your bike go yamaha. from what i can determine the ktm's, 790 and 1290, seem to be pretty reliable. there is reddit subgroup for ktm if you want to see what peoples experience has been.
