I just came across with your channel and really noticed how much work there is behind that video. As a creator, I understand how difficult is to work on your motorbike as you are filming. Really enjoyed your video and your personality :). I always wanted to own a super duke but I finally ended up getting the Z1000, which I also really love. Keep the great work! Subscribed!
Bloody hell done well! Removing the center stand and changing the giant exhaust for a stainless carbon exhaust system saved me 4.5kg on my xj6. Even if I get a lithium batt I'm still behind lol having said that the xj6 is still 10 tons 😚
A cup of coffee, and a vid of the Duke....what a great way to wake up ! Nice vid , I hear the Isle of man calling for you Sir. First Duke on the track, you'll make history !!!!
Hey Lamb Chop watching your videos is expensive because i'm going to invest £76 (inc post to France) in a lithium battery for my gen 2 1290 but a 4 kg weight saving for £76 is a really good money to weight ratio. Your 1290 looks fab, i think gen 1 1290 is nicer looking bike than gen 2, steering damper looks tempting too. Just bought Arrow pot for mine, sounds fab! You suggested to meet up in May when you come down this way. Drop me a line if you do & i'll show you some fab roads.
Man I'm just binge watching all your upgrades, on the 1290 R. They told me on last past Monday should be ready for pickup tomorrow, I hope. Just having many of these parts would most likely bolt on new 2020. First upgrade full exhaust, the build quality is gorgeous on the Austin, or may go with Akrapovic. First time ever seen a single sided rim removed, now I got purchased stand should got them thrown in.
Are the carbon fiber standard gloss finish or are they black clear coat finish?? Reason I ask is because I’m looking to get me a set and don’t know if I should go with standard gloss or black coat? Thank you. Awesome video
@ Lamb chop : Did you have to modify the traction control system and abs because of the lighter wheels ? I know that on the Tuono V4 if you replace the pirelli super corsas by rosso corsas, you have to modify a parameter in the "dashboard". Sorry for my bad english. Thanks.
Mr Chops, it’s already the most blinged up Super Duke I’ve ever seen. Looking forward to seeing it in flesh at Loomies! It would be interesting to to see your spread sheet showing the original price of the bike and then a list of the upgrades (retail) as it must be knocking on now.
Watching your videos has made me want to change my s1000r for the superduke would definitely consider the same year as you purchased as well. Quick question because I ride to work most days mostly on motorway what is the mpg like?
wel done Chops, I've been doing something similar to my bikes over the winter. You really can save a good chunk of weight from the basics - Battery, Wheels, Exhaust, then get fancy with the Titanium :-) IT aint cheap .. but it looks great and its very satisfying - just don't let the wife find the receipts !!!!
Thanks for posting such good vids mate. I love the garage and straight forward projects you do as we (Most I reckon) think you are enjoying doing it. You've taken over the "Top of the Pop's" for me by just doing all these regular gigs mate with MSF in 2nd. BVG has gone out to lunch. I'm looking for a Super Duke myself to try out. Cheers!
Well done Lamb,.... Still can save more non-suspended weight by changing secondary transmission and fitting an AFAM Racing Alloy kit with 520 chain instead of 525 and alloy sprockets (for track mainly) ... Then you can go for Neken carbon handlebars, Strada7 carbon levers, Samco silicone radiator pipes, Pro-bolt full titanium engine bolt kit, etc.... What's the total weight saved compared to a fully standard 1290SDR 2014 ? keep your channel going that well & ride safe. V
Yeah when Im back from Spain chain and sprockets will be changed for lightweight Renthals, not sure I will change the chain to a 520 as with all that torque might be pushing my luck...
Outstamding job Chops👍👍😆😆..... great vid as usual.... bet you cant wait to ride it!!??.....steering damper in orange though?????. Keep up the good work. Cheers Mark.
Question time I got a 2017 r6 and was going to go full carbon with it with the bst wheels and the carbon composite fairing what are the wheels and carbon body work bits like in terms of quality
Not sure about the bark busters, but love the look of it, test rode one but sadly hated it, probably just me. Keep the videos coming, saw the new sv in the background what do you think?
Chops... I know this is a old video, but at the end you mentioned doing a scotts steering damper.. I've looked and don't see a video... It just appears a few videos later. Do you have a parts list, or a link to the kit, I don't see a kit for it at Rottweiler performance
What are you doing with the exhaust, bars, yokes, seat and controls etc ? I can see another few Kilos saved along the way like the way the bike is moving along and looking forward to some more upgrades and reviews
Exhaust is already 100% titanium so nothing much to do thier, that alone frees up 5kg. Controls bars it needs to remain road legal and practical so won't mess with those tbh
Great work, it all adds up, If nothing else its an exercise in engineering and seeing how far you can go to reduce weight particularly unsprung mass. Awesome!
Another great vid chops, I think I speak for most of when I say thank you for uploading all of your superduke videos over the last few months starting with your virgin face review episode up to now. Many of us have been hiding our bikes away during the winter and come here for our quick fix of bike porn. Hope to see you out and about on the KTM this summer. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the track test vid.
Yes I could go for a Renthal light weight sprocket and 520 chain, I think due to the huge torque levels though I will change the chain but stay with a 525.
Great topic, interesting info on the carbon maybe not quite the weight saving over the plastics as one might have expected. However it more than makes up for that by looking delicious!
Chops the bike is looking very sexy indeed very lucky guy indeed. Glad things are going great for you you produce some great videos. Take it easy fella looking forward to future projects and videos.
Thanks for those links Chops, was looking for a rear hugger for my 2015 S 1000 RR without the cutout and I found it on FF Carbon, keep up the interesting modding and vlogging videos'
It’s looking the dogs!! Do you feel the Renthal bars are a good improvement over the standard? Not just the fact they’re black but is the slightly lower wider more forward position better? More 17+ position
Hi, very nice mode even if should cost an arm. One question for you mate, I am an owner of one superduke 1290 a 2016 model same handlebar and speedometer as yours but I am 1.90 m. and I want to have handle bar riser 2.5 cm so I have still enough cable lenght from the oem ones. I purchased from rock risers a nice orange that from their charts was for my bike model but it was impossible to intall on the superduke. Fo you have any advice for a riser thst will fit ? Thanks anc keep up your great vids.
Sorry John Ive not messed with any risers so cant comment.. I have just fitted some Renthal Fatbars and they move the handlebars higher. Have you tried moving the bars closer to you as there are two options for mounting them on the top yoke?
Hi John just out of interest how long did it take to get the wheels from when you ordered them days weeks or months cos I feel like someone pulling my leg if you know what I mean cheers m8
Hey Lambs i know im a bit late but whats the name of the carbon wheels you put on your Duke?? Im looking to get the 2020 SuperDukeR and trying to research all wheel options. Thanks
Amazing job! I’m really curious about the wheel swap effect. 10kg is huge! It’s like having half tank of petrol I can feel the difference on my bike but shells make me really curious.
Very nice just need to remove the RnG bobbins an engine guards, guessing that new steering damper in heavier then oem also? Shame you couldn’t weigh total bike, guessing around 200kg fully wet and fun. I bet the exhaust saves a good chunk over normal super dukes.
No they just have to be a bit more careful that's all. The Dymags have a generous lip so makes mounting easier. My man Russ had them on in minutes very easy
Stunning! Might i sugest A carbon akra pipe and a small dark screen to stop bugs getting into the back of the clocks and giving it a more sleek look. Also does anyone do a lower fairing to cover the front of the engine carbon of course . Stones and shit being directed straight on these parts never made sense to me. I get that it is a naked. I just think some of the practical side of things has been bypassed with nakeds. These would be the only things i would add to this bike and it is done. Pimped to perfection.
I just ordered some Rosso 3 for my superduke. Hope they’re better than the stock Dunlop’s in every way. How the hell did you fit all the things in there for the led headlight. Let us know how the beam pattern is and your thoughts if led it worth it. Surely the led kit weighs more than the halogen haha
Yeah the H4 kit is quite alot to it! Was going to weigh it but didnt bother in the end. BIke has MOT today so will let you know on beam pattern. Dunlops are rubbish, hated them on the loan bike I had last year.
Amazing! Absolutely breath taking bike man. I just signed the paperwork yesterday for a 2018 and take in a few days. I'll be analyzing all your videos and doing as much as my budget will allow but I have to ask right away where you got your bark busters? They are a really nice touch
I did mention the wheels coming to K-tech and they said doesn't really make any difference.. think the bike is about 175kg dry now so 1:1 power to weight roughly 😎😎
Cool, saved around 9kg but I would like to see the measured overall weigh of the bike before and after as well. Obviously you can't put all those bits back on to weigh it before, but could you please weigh the bike after? I want to know the new wet weight
I did some calculations based on measurements given to me by a friend for stock items I've removed. Mirrors, the exhaust system, passenger footpegs etc, 20kg total!! Should put it 175 kg dry... I will get it weighed though as I'm desperate to know myself 😎
Been catching up with some of your vids LC. Loving all the bling and garage build vids. Well Jell as the kidz would say. What lever guards do you have fitted to the Duke? I'm thinking of getting a set for my 'Blade and yours look rather pretty.... :)
Yeah - I went into hibernation over the winter. Unlike when bears do it, I didn't lose any of my winter fat. Looks like those Oberon lever guards are as rare as a Womble haircut, their website is down and can't find other resellers. I'll have to look at the Lightech ones...
Just checked site is up www.oberon-performance.co.uk/ get em bought they are really well made. Wombles haircut, Ive not seen anything like it since the 70's!!
Another enjoyable Vid Chops. Thanks for the effort and for sharing. I see you did a bit of modification to your abba stand. Did you realy need the extra bolt at bottom of the right side?
I'm not a fan of the Superduke's looks at all, (looks like a giant dirtbike to me), but I still find your videos very entertaining, and as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I had a set of BST carbon wheels on my Tuono, and while the difference in steering etc was very noticeable, the odd thing I discovered was in regard to getting heat in to the tyres, they just never seemed to get up to temperature. I'm interested in your experience. Cheers.
Thanks very much, I've had no problems with heating up tyres. Just got back from an epic 1500 mile ride through the Pyrenees and to the B500 in Germany and tyres were cooking. Wheels really impressed in the tight switchbacks up the mountains. Full videos to come of course 😎😎
Well that's interesting, maybe I got a bad tyre???...the B500 looks like an amazing road. I'm over in Oz, but if I ever get over that way, it's definitely on my "To Do" list. I look forward to the videos! Thanks for your reply.
It’s a hell of a lot cheaper to eat fewer pies hahahahahah!
McDonalds!
I like IT 👌👌👌👌
I know the good book says, “thy shalt not covert another man’s bike”, but that Duke is bloody gorgeous ❤️😍
Top job as always Lamb Chops 👍
Thanks Bruce!!! :-)
I just came across with your channel and really noticed how much work there is behind that video. As a creator, I understand how difficult is to work on your motorbike as you are filming. Did your wallet feel a lot lighter too after that session?
How about titanium coins?
Your Super Duke has officially become my favorite out there. Great job man!!!
This is the most usefull video I've ever seen on bike modifications, great bike, great result, awesome video !
The biggest weight saving can be made with the rider getting off the pies. Much cheaper option too 😉😂
A cup of coffee, and a vid of the Duke....what a great way to wake up ! Nice vid , I hear the Isle of man calling for you Sir. First Duke on the track, you'll make history !!!!
Thanks Chris, yeah would be great to blat it round there!!
The wait for weight savings is over. However, the glory of this bike goes on forever. Well done!
Hey Lamb Chop watching your videos is expensive because i'm going to invest £76 (inc post to France) in a lithium battery for my gen 2 1290 but a 4 kg weight saving for £76 is a really good money to weight ratio. Hey, loving the build series, one of the nicest ktm dukes out there in my opinion
Bike looks great!! I had a pair of carbon dymags on my 2000 Suzuki Hayabusa. And, I luved um. Made huge difference in steering. Congrats!
Are the carbon fiber standard gloss finish or are they black clear coat finish?? Reason I ask is because I’m looking to get me a set and don’t know if I should go with standard gloss or black coat? Thank you. Awesome video

I took the pillion pegs of the r125 0-60 in... oh wait it's bloody windy again never mind!
what year and colour mate, i had a 2015 black. loved it, just switched to 2017 duke 390
awesome from across the pond... may be getting a duke this spring
Yeah that's an idea.. Would be scary though!!
This is a good idea. Review all the bits on your bike. We can decide which ones work for us.
That bike is stunning LC. Nice work. Make sure you get the torques right on the fasteners. Lol
Any chance you could weight the whole bike, for an actual wet weight as it is now? Awesome bike 👍🏼
Watching your videos has made me want to change my s1000r for the superduke would definitely consider the same year as you purchased as well. Quick question because I ride to work most days mostly on motorway what is the mpg like?
Definitely the best looking Superduke bar none!
Beautiful bike. Incredible carbon wheel upgrade
Yo man. Astonishing. What an amazing SD this'll be.
Good things come to those that work hard. Very nice mods. 🖒
Looking good John, have to take a good look at this next time you at Bury Hill.
Looks absolutely awesome Chops! In my dreams for me to get mine to this level... That exhaust and those wheels are fantastic.
Thanks Lucky!
First look at this video I thought it was 44teeth 😂. Great video as always keep them coming
wel done Chops, I've been doing something similar to my bikes over the winter. You really can save a good chunk of weight from the basics - Battery, Wheels, Exhaust, then get fancy with the Titanium :-) IT aint cheap .. but it looks great and its very satisfying - just don't let the wife find the receipts !!!!
Yeah, s'pose it looks alright. Might have to tie it down on windy days now though!
Haha yeah it's likely to float away at any moment 😂😂
Andy Man Cam What Do you mean?
Thanks for posting such good vids mate. I love the garage and straight forward projects you do as we (Most I reckon) think you are enjoying doing it. You've taken over the "Top of the Pop's" for me by just doing all these regular gigs mate with MSF in 2nd. BVG has gone out to lunch. I'm looking for a Super Duke myself to try out. Cheers!
Thanks very much Paul appreciate the kind words buddy
Which Make of Lithium battery did you use, Im not seeing any with an almost 4kgs difference in weight ,,,,, seen around 2.3 Lbs or 1043 grams ?
Damn, so much bling. Looks awesome! I’m so OCD I’d be too scared to ride it in case it gets dirty.
Yeah when Im back from Spain chain and sprockets will be changed for lightweight Renthals, not sure I will change the chain to a 520 as with all that torque might be pushing my luck...
No worries about 520 chain, that's what they use in MotoGP & SBK... Fitted on my previous Panigale 1199 S with +++195hp & 13.5 Mkg of torque. V
AFAM only do a 525 kit and it's steel. You'd be mad putting an alloy sprocket, especially in a 520 pitch on a torque monster like the 1290.
Battery aside, what was $$$ per gramm , if you don't mind me asking???
do you have a vid showing you riding the lightened sdr ?
Outstamding job Chops👍👍😆😆..... great vid as usual.... bet you cant wait to ride it!!??.....steering damper in orange though?????. Keep up the good work. Cheers Mark.
Thanks Mark
Question time I got a 2017 r6 and was going to go full carbon with it with the bst wheels and the carbon composite fairing what are the wheels and carbon body work bits like in terms of quality
How were you able to fit the cyclops led? I’ve tried a few times but the rectifier is just too bulky to cram in there with everything else :(
Sexy. Just keep in mind titanium aren't as strong as high tensile steel bolts.
Not sure about the bark busters, but love the look of it, test rode one but sadly hated it, probably just me. Keep the videos coming, saw the new sv in the background what do you think?
Mad vid, thinning the beast up... Love the marvel inspired intro btw
Chops... I know this is a old video, but at the end you mentioned doing a scotts steering damper..

Seen the Evotech Clutchcover for the LC8 engine ? Just got one for my RC8.
Wow looks amazing Chops I bet you can't wait to go out on her and give it a bloody good thrashing 👍
Great work, it all adds up, If nothing else its an exercise in engineering and seeing how far you can go to reduce weight particularly unsprung mass. Awesome!
whatupg1 an exercise in engineering? he's not making the parts...lol.
Thanks very much Gregster! Appreciate the kinds words matey
Great video onces again mate, keep up the good work.
Looking good chops. The old wallet must have some weight loss as well.
are there any lighter sprockets? wondering if you can save some more weight with such stuff....are there any carbon brakes out yet for road bikes?
Yes I could go for a Renthal light weight sprocket and 520 chain, I think due to the huge torque levels though I will change the chain but stay with a 525.
Great topic, interesting info on the carbon maybe not quite the weight saving over the plastics as one might have expected. However it more than makes up for that by looking delicious!
how much did your insurance go up? at a guess about 10 kg in readies
Ahhh chopsy, die hard is on! Guess I need to pause it to see these wheels of yours! 😜
The most beatifull KTM Ever!! nice job!! greetz from Munich
Chops the bike is looking very sexy indeed very lucky guy indeed. Glad things are going great for you you produce some great videos. Take it easy fella looking forward to future projects and videos.
Thanks Dave appreciate that matey
Do you need to adjust your suspension again after all the weighloss?
Are you gonna do a little comparison between headlight bulbs?
Thanks for those links Chops, was looking for a rear hugger for my 2015 S 1000 RR without the cutout and I found it on FF Carbon, keep up the interesting modding and vlogging videos'
Any plans to add a Rekulse clutch?
Sorry but did you ever make the scotts damper install??
It’s looking the dogs!! Do you feel the Renthal bars are a good improvement over the standard? Not just the fact they’re black but is the slightly lower wider more forward position better? More 17+ position
Not sure yet jury is still out.. Did find a bit more wrist ache but could be due to lever position so will let you know
@Lamb Chops. Are those wheel standard finish or are they black coat finish?? Awesome vid
Standard finish sir :-)
Lamb Chop Rides - perfect, 🙏 They look beautiful.
So if you just change the battery and the carbon wheels whats that about 8.955 kgs ??
Hi John just out of interest how long did it take to get the wheels from when you ordered them days weeks or months cos I feel like someone pulling my leg if you know what I mean cheers m8
Hi Brian, its not that quick they are made to order at the moment, think mine too 6 weeks..
Thanks John for clearing that up looking forward to getting mine fitted hopefully soon 😁✊🏻👊🏻✊🏻
Welcome home Sean Connery 🤤. Another great vids.
I love it! awesome project ;) subbed
Any more info on the headlight bulb? Looked awesome
Have a look at rottweiler site have them for sale there 👍
Hey Lambs i know im a bit late but whats the name of the carbon wheels you put on your Duke??
Im looking to get the 2020 SuperDukeR and trying to research all wheel options. Thanks
They are the CA5 Dymag wheels 👍👍
How did the Lithium battery perform considering that it looks like the lead acid battery is spec'ed to three times the energy (Wh/Ah)?
Yes perfect never any issues with it at all 👍
Well done mate. Thanks for filming. Cheers
All those trick parts saved a few kgs, what was the cost of all those parts though?
Did you have to do anything to the ECU for the lithium battery? I’m looking for one for my 2019, just wondering if I’ll have to flash the ECU.
No not all at, fit and forget 👍
Amazing job! I’m really curious about the wheel swap effect. 10kg is huge! It’s like having half tank of petrol I can feel the difference on my bike but shells make me really curious.
Very nice just need to remove the RnG bobbins an engine guards, guessing that new steering damper in heavier then oem also?
Shame you couldn’t weigh total bike, guessing around 200kg fully wet and fun. I bet the exhaust saves a good chunk over normal super dukes.
Yes need to weigh the bike properly now, it must be under 200kg wet now what with the full Akro system too!
There is a particular way to install the tyres on carbon wheels compared to the original?
No they just have to be a bit more careful that's all. The Dymags have a generous lip so makes mounting easier. My man Russ had them on in minutes very easy
Hi mate me again lol
Got the beast yesday love it
One question where did you get the mirrors you have?
Can never have too much Carbon :P Looks mega, and almost 10kg saving in total, thats pretty damn good
Thanks Sam
what is the stand you have the bike lifted up on? looks like an abba stand but a black stand behind it?
It's an ABBA skylift 👍
Not gona lie I’m scared of that rear wheel nut! It’s like 250nm isn’t it? How do you manage that without pushing the bike around?
Yeah the H4 kit is quite alot to it! Was going to weigh it but didnt bother in the end. BIke has MOT today so will let you know on beam pattern. Dunlops are rubbish, hated them on the loan bike I had last year.
Amazing! Absolutely breath taking bike man. I just signed the paperwork yesterday for a 2018 and take in a few days. I'll be analyzing all your videos and doing as much as my budget will allow but I have to ask right away where you got your bark busters? They are a really nice touch
Thanks mate, the bark busters were from R&G racing listed on thier website 👍
Cheers man! Keep up the incredible work in these videos. By the way I fucking love the 1290 intro! 🤘
Bloody lovely Chops, does your suspension need setting up again now?🤔🤔🤔👍🏻😎
I did mention the wheels coming to K-tech and they said doesn't really make any difference.. think the bike is about 175kg dry now so 1:1 power to weight roughly 😎😎

could you please include costs as to how much these thing work out to be thanks , and much appreciated
Is there a video where you test after all your mods
Great video well done lcr.. tempted to get lion battery and carbon wheels now. Your bike looks awsome
Been catching up with some of your vids LC. Loving all the bling and garage build vids. Well Jell as the kidz would say. What lever guards do you have fitted to the Duke? I'm thinking of getting a set for my 'Blade and yours look rather pretty.... :)
Thanks Mac wondered where you had been :-) Lever guards are Oberon ones, nicked them off the blade as it happens hehe
Ah cheers - the site must have just been down earlier as it is working now. I'll check 'em out!
Another enjoyable Vid Chops. Thanks for the effort and for sharing. I see you did a bit of modification to your abba stand. Did you realy need the extra bolt at bottom of the right side?
No its standard... not changed nothing on it
Lamb Chop Rides I have an abba stand dont have that extra bolt.
now all you need is a titanium frame ;)
Will Hyde, Aluminium frames are much lighter than Titanium.
What a beautiful bike, I need one of these in my life 😍
You could always go jogging and shed 1.5 stone off that bike. Result ! 😂 looking forward to that vlog 👍
Already done David, lost 1.5 stone also
Love it 😃
I'm not a fan of the Superduke's looks at all, (looks like a giant dirtbike to me), but I still find your videos very entertaining, and as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Guy is MAD !!!! thats what we want
I wouldn't have put any thought into carbon fiber wheels until hearing your explanation.
Great ContenT LAMB Chops, any ECU errors on the Superduke!
Do they make a cover for the rear wheel nut?
