Another great video mate. Love the new camera angle, plus you can't go wrong with the Gixer. Suzuki GSXR 'S have always been weapons for as long as I can remember, the same with the RG500 as well back in the day. Love it!
2 bikes in the garage is the life Mr Chops! Just looking at them during a gloomy winter will cheer you up 😜 get Mrs Chops a new carpet or summat she will be fine.
Congratulations LC on finally taking purchase on the Gix 👍🏻 it sounds so good going up through the quick shifter with that pop 👌 Chops is in love 🥰. Adam 🏴
I love that bike Chops, it’s a beast, you can’t sell it, it easier to get forgiveness from the Mrs than it is to get permission............never forget that.
My goodness, that is so trick now. I have really good Bose speakers on my PC setup and your bike sounds so amazing, that rasp is beautiful. I would love to ride yours and compare it to my stock bike.
You've put so may hours into getting that GSXR how you want it mate; it would be foolish to sell it on and let someone else have all the fun. Keep it and enjoy it Chopsy. Looking forward to see you give it a good spanking around Snetterton! Was there last month, cracking circuit.
Keep it chops, btw I got the 1000xr and parted with my multisrada dvt (we were speaking up at loomies a few weeks ago) I'm well happy will do a vlog at some point .. the gixr sounds awesome 😍
Congratulations, she looks sweet and sounds absolutely wicked! I’d be popping all day with a huge grin on my face. I’m still on the fence about those mirrors but everything else is perfect! Top end is irrelevant for road use, it all about torque in the mid range, that’s were the fun is.. 👊
Great video as usual LC. The bike sounds absolutely amazing. If I were you I would keep it and then treat your wife like a queen for the foreseeable future. Ride safe LC.....
Sorry that I do not have encyclopaedic knowledge of GSXRs, but does this one have adjustable height footrests? Which year model is best for us tall guys (2metres)
True.....but if they want the bike....they just carry it off into a van and its gone before you know it. (Doesn't matter what you do...gps tracker or not)
Got a 2018 gsxr1000r and mine is standard apart from yoshimura exhaust and you can’t beat these as an overall package and that’s standard GSXR’s are back keep it if you can 👌
Like you chops i had the Superduke and really liked it, but ultimately i wanted to go back to a sports bike. I nearly bought one of these but went for a 2018 RSV4, which i love. The sound ..... the sound!!!! of that V4. I love your gsxr though, I'm sure there is little difference between the bikes in terms of performance.
I'd start with checking that chain slack, seems the more likely of the two on such a new bike. A lot of times a new chain will 'break in' in the first few hundred miles and need a quick tighten before staying good for a longer interval.
They can also be set slow from the factory. ZX10Rs, gsxr1000, Ducati’s, stateside suffer from terribly slow Quick shifters. Can your tuner adjust the dwell time by gear or by rpm? I find this is an aspect of tuning many people neglect. Been tuning my Translogic QS for a little while now, Lamb I know you’ve used or owned one, you thought it was smooth out of the box you can make it better. Same with most setups.
@@kleinbottled79 Yea mine seems to be getting less smooth, no where near as smooth as this guy in the vid, like i couldnt imagine hitting it while below the power band, it would just be too jerky and it feels like im hurting my bike.
@@dbtrackz33 how exactly do you tune it? Like...how do you know weather u need to increase or decrease the length of the ignition cut. How much chain slack do you run?
@@SaWuDOHC chain slack I run what each of my bike calls for, generally on the tighter range of good, 25mm. To answer the ignition cut, is a difficult question to explain here in 1 post. If you have a one setting quickshifter you have to compromise. If you run it smooth down low or midrange it will likely be SLOW but may still feel smooth up top. If it's tuned for just redline WOT then it will feel sloppy down low. Compromise. Real slow like 75ms or higher can feel like a lazy powershift. It can buck you towards the windshield. The delay isn't crisp. Going too fast say 40ms and you can feel the transmission doesn't have time to smoothly engage the next gear. Now if you have a Translogic which has 5 RPM zones of adjustment from 3000rpm to redline you can run slower down low for smooth shifts around town and faster up top. For example stock Translogic QS are regarded as VERY Smooth and they run 66ms by default in all zones. That's great around town and midrange but real slow up top if racing. If you run a QS that is a gear dependent system same thing. 1-2 shift is slower because you have to get through neutral. A 5-6 shift setting could be 20ms faster. Look up EJR performance and find his QS tuning video. It's very eye opening what you can leave on the table with a slow setup.
@Drakey Drake Exactly bud, too much is made of what will essentially be a minor issue for a large proportion of owners. I tend not to listen to the media hype or bullshit, if I like it I like it. If you're disappointed in a bike like this then you're already dead. There is a known issue with the brakes as did mine when I bought it, now sorted. The seals grab the pistons causing a lot of lever movement with no effect. Easy problem to fix, grease the seals. Brakes are excellent.
chops I spoke to grizz a couple of days ago concerning a certain billflops tuning and he mentioned you mate .were did you get your gsxr set up and cost.i have a 2012 bmw s1000rr
Loving the bike, chops. Sounds wonderful. How does it compare to the H2, in terms of performance, handling, the way it makes you feel? A comparison vid between the two would be good. Cheers, Matt.
You were talking about vibration from the lighter front wheels causing some instability at speed. To your point we were at Bonneville Salt Flats about 11 years ago parked along side the North South track watching speed trials. Next up was a Hayabusa making a pass when straight in front of us the rider fell off his bike and slid some distance on the salt. Walking through the pits I spotted a 70 year old man still in leathers, sitting by his bike and looking a bit dejected. Turned out he was the rider of the Hayabusa that fell to the salt. He told me that he spent many thousands of dollars prepping the bike including $2500 on new light weight wheels. On his first pass the Hayabusa began to shake violently at 160mph. He was able to slow it down to 150 before it threw him off. He wasn't injured except for some salt scrapes tearing up his leathers. Convinced the problem was the new light weight wheels, his crew immediately replaced the light weight wheels with the factory wheels and made successive passes without a problem.
No I've not noticed any instability at speed, it's more under hard acceleration as the front goes light. The GSXR is prone to do it anyway the front-end being even lighter makes it marginally worse but the benefits vastly outweigh this
I have 7300miles on my 2018 gsxr... Have loved it. I have a full Yoshi alpha t system and a Yoshi ecu and harness... It's blinding fast... But i am thinking of getting those carbon fiber wheels... But now think I'll stay with the factory! Thanks
Carbon wheels make more of a difference on the track when you flick the bike from side to side. Hard to feel the difference on the street because the bike is not even close to its performance potential there.
I saw GSXR, had to come peek. This bike sounds and looks so great. I'd also say keep it LCR, it's a Suzuki you can't go wrong😁honestly would choose your GSXR over the H2
Fantastic! It's really come to together beautifully. Glad the "other woman" hasn't turned your head completely lol. Easy for me to say but you should keep it for the summer at least if you can. Tell Mrs Chops it's medicinal & you're keeping it for your mental health & wellbeing. ; )
You don't need the H2 the GSXR is the one you've mouldered into what you want . That torque in the mid range makes for a far more fun road bike, as you said . H2 is a passing affair the Suzuki is the one.
The GSXR is so well sorted now you have to keep it and enjoy it for the time being. How the hell did you get any footage out of the Insta 360 X? It was wangling about so much on that mirror mounting. Makes some cool onboard footage even with all the movement.
Thanks Steve, yes the mount for the 360 was rubbish. Ive had much better results since and just ordered some RAM mounts to do the job properly! Will be much better in the future
I bought an Insta 360 a few months ago. I've used it on the bike once with a chest harness. Problem with it is you have to treat it like a newborn baby because the lenses are so fragile. I was going to use a RAM mount and the selfie stick to mount it behind me but I have no confidence it will stay put. Also found the editing to be hard work if you want to keep changing views and the footage doesn't take kindly to too much colour grading as it breaks up. The bike looks mental. 🤪😎
Ive just ordered RAM mounts to do the job properly, they do now make a GoPro like case for it which I may invest in... But your right adds considerably to the editing workload but some of the results you can get are truly amazing! Im going to keep experimenting until I can get some very cool :-)
@@LambChopRides I got the venture case purely to use on my bike but has 2 downers. First, even if you click the venture case button in the editing software for the stitching there is still a bit of distortion. Second, it doesn't half add to the weight of it all. Regarding the quick shifter. 2 things can make them not as smooth after a while.
- too much slack in the chain
- bike needs an oil change

Carbon wheels make more of a difference on the track when you flick the bike from side to side. Hard to feel the difference on the street because the bike is not even close to its performance potential there.
Yes this is true, this also shows in my coming track video
So getting carbon wheels for a naked bike (in my case a Tuono) doesn't make so much sense as I am riding it street only, or does it?
Looks cool, but if you’re going fast enough to feel the difference on the street you’ll either lose your licence or your life in no time.
