Thank you for the tutorial this video was very helpful. I was stuck on the skirt that I was working on & your video gave me the information I was looking for.
I think it would be helpful to mention that you are making the skirt twice the width to allow for gathers-it's what you do. It would also be helpful to mention that you are using a surger but this can also be sown using an ordinary machine or even by hand. Also, could the elastic casing be placed between the outer fabric and lining to avoid excess bulk in the wait?

Very good points. Yes, you most definitely could sew the elastic casing between the lining and outer fabric. That’s a great idea.
I was thinking the same thing It's not a pencil skirt, but an A line. I am wanting to make one for my 11 year old grand daughter. This was helpful
