Im fairly new to the channel i only subbed a few months ago but i just want to say how much I appreciate what you do. Ive been reading comics since about 2000 so getting your in depth breakdowns on Batmans history and certain years/stories is awesome and super convenient. Thx for everythinf
I was 4 years old at the time. I remember how popular the animated series was, and I also had merchandising, such as action figures, t-shirts, and pajamas. In fact, it's where I first know about Batman. The first superhero I've ever known.
It should be noted that the character Lock up, much like Harley Quinn was created for the animated series but was later brought into the comics. Which is ironic because Harley is in that episode, plus I thought this was a great choice because I really liked Lock Up's episode.
One neat bit of tie-in media you may not have been aware of (and even if you were, you had a lot of ground to cover) - the BBC made an audio drama adaptation of Knightfall in 1994, and it's actually very good! It was broken into three minute segments broadcast between other BBC radio shows, but that three minute format lines up with the issue by issue format of the comics reasonably well, and resolving a beginning, middle and end that quickly makes for some really punchy episodes. It's available on Audible (and elsewhere, I'm sure), and I'd definitely say it's worth checking out for fans of the storyline (or just Batman in general).
Definitely subscribing. Your indepth work is very well researched and fun to listen to. Even if i know most of the story. It's so entertaining the way you present it. Awesome job!
Looking at all the villain reform episodes present in Batman TAS season 3, I really feel the season should have ended with the Lock Up episode, since the conflict between Batman and Lock Up ties with the themes present in those episodes: While Lock Up uses brute strenght and torture to "keep" the villains in check, seeing them as monsters, Batman still has compassion for his enemies, even after seen them failling in reforming themselves.
Yea he misspoke and said they changed it after season 1 I was like wait wtf is he talking about... Lol had to double check bc I knew that didn't sound right.
While I think Maddness is really good, I will say I feel Barbra being Mad Hatters victum was too much, especially when you consider how badly DC was treating her during the past seven years by that point.
I'd like to point out that in the adventures of batman and robin on snes Man-Bat talks, this is intresting because, while Man-Bat talked in the comics, he didn't talk in the animated series.
I think Banes best apearence on Batman the animated series was proably in the movie Batman Mystery Of The Batwoman, where I feel his charicterization was improved. His characterization in "Bane" was fine, but it wasn't Bane, shall we say.
I didn't know Roxy Rocket was originally from the batman adventures comics, I mostly remember her from that one episode of Batman The Animated Series she was in.
@@plasticweapon I know what you mean but here's the thing, by seasons you proably mean by volumes, volumes 1, 2, and the first half of 3 comprise of the first season, the rest of volume 3 has the entire second season, and volume 4 is bassically all of season 3. Did you get all that?
You misspoke or made a mistake i think. You said they changed BTAS to Adventures of Batman and Robin or whatever for season 2 but it's actually season 3 that change happens. They actually mandated Robin be in every episode at one point.
Hmmm... I dunno. I mean yeah the punisher looked like a jobber in both stories, but in hind sight, we have castle to thank for rise of anti heroes during the 90s. Guess the stories were to show that heroism is a better path as opposed to the one punisher started with

"Harley's Holiday" is one of my favorite episodes of B:TAS, so I'd go with that as my favorite piece of #Batman history from 1994.
I love the 90’s Batman family of books. Great job on these videos.

Always good seeing a video of your pop up, better than Saturday morning cartoons!
P.s. I really like the all black suit on the troika cover
Eric Lustbader. A name I’d only ever heard once before: Being referenced on a series III episode of Red Dwarf
This was personally my favorite year of batman comics, I am excited to see this
Enjoy!
@@SalazarKnight What will your next video be about?
It should be noted that the character Lock up, much like Harley Quinn was created for the animated series but was later brought into the comics. Which is ironic because Harley is in that episode, plus I thought this was a great choice because I really liked Lock Up's episode.
I would love to see videos about The Long Halloween and Dark Victory from you, Salazar! Those are classic Batman stories.
We will get there sooner than later!
@Salazar Knight very nice! I love the channel. Keep up the good work!
17:06 McFarlane's Batman somewhat looks like the Batman from the 2004 animated series.
5:11 Is that Lucifer the cat from cinderella?? Since when was he in Batman The Animated Series???
I can listen to you talk about batman for hours

A great video for a great channel. Keep them coming!
I love this documentary. Always a fan of your videos
Thank you!!
14:01 That's the DCAU to you!

Great job on another fantastic video!
I kinda miss the blue and gray suit with the yellow symbol
As do I.
@@separate_entity001 thankfully Dan Moira brought it back in World's Finest. But I do wish for it to be brought back in the main storylines
Nah, it looks too campy. I'd imagine a suit like that wouldn't strike as much fear into the heart of criminals as much as the darker suits would.
@@The_Man_Who_Sold_the_World. it did during the O'Neil era
@@jaredgarcia8638 I'm saying in general. A bright and colorful suit like that was aimed more towards children.
Subbed about a week ago binging your content at the moment have to say I really like your stuff
Thank you! Glad you like it :)
Thank u again!

Whoa deft job another successful documentary.
The Adventures of Batman and Robin on SNES is the best Batman game ever to me

ah yes, mullet fleischer superman
Have you ever seen Batman fan comics such as "The Deal" or "Death Knight" manga crossover?
Thank you 🙏
I'd like to point out that in the adventures of batman and robin on snes Man-Bat talks, this is intresting because, while Man-Bat talked in the comics, he didn't talk in the animated series.

I loved your Documentary,
But YOU forgot to mention Tally Man in the Prodigal segment in YOUR documentary!!!!!!!!!!
I was (and am) a big fan of the Prodigal storyline.
I didn't know Roxy Rocket was originally from the batman adventures comics, I mostly remember her from that one episode of Batman The Animated Series she was in.
Dude, S2 of TAS was just as impressive. If not more so.
Nice Chanel👍
I love all three seasons of Batman The Animated Series.
there wee four seasons, if you're interested.

Bloodstorm was THE conclusion to the Batman/Dracula story. Crimson Mist was unnecessary.

SK, which of the Arkham games is your favorite?
Definitely Arkham City, but unfortunately I haven't played Arkham Knight yet.
Sucks when both players wants to be 🦇 batman at same time

👏👏👏👏👏👏
The best game based on Batman the Animated Series is on SNES? No. The best version was Batman Vengeance on the PlayStation 2 !
