- We love ourselves a theme, and we've got a new one for you--comic book heroes! We have several films to catch up on, so after this, we'll be tackling Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Joker, and the Batman! So stay tuned for those, and Happy Film Friday!
Spider-man: No Way Home was such a special experience for both Sam and I, as we both grew up on the original Sam Raimi trilogy, and getting to enjoy wonderfully nostalgic fan service (DONE RIGHT) with you guys is such a joy for us. That being said, this video has been both the most fun, and most painful video to edit! It was such a blast going back through the reaction, but actual agony having to cut out so much! We had the joy of a truly unspoiled reaction--Sam hadn't even seen a trailer for this movie! I was delighted to share in his first time watching, and gush about all the things I've been dying to say since seeing it my first time. We both hope you enjoy our reaction and commentary, and we'll see you on the next one! ❤️ Jacqui

First Time Watching Marvel's Spiderman: No Way Home Развлечения
“That’s what’s his face! That’s actually what’s his face!” - Definitely the perfect mix of confusion and excitement.
And over gaying it up because for some reason that is a requirement
@@johnfive2440 We'd be happy to hear your feedback on the movie, but we don't tolerate any commentary on race, gender, or sexuality. You've already made two questionable comments on this video, and if you feel the need to continue making personal attacks, you will be banned. ❤️Jacqui
Absolute excitement!
“With great power comes great responsibility” is literally the kiss of death. I love/hate that line.
Also my favorite small reference was when Andrew's Peter saved MJ he used the same technique of propelling himself forward with his webbing that Tobey's Peter used to save Gwen in Spider-Man 3. Like he's been thinking of every way to change that moment.
Ooh! I hadn't noticed that. Thank you for pointing it out! Definitely makes the moment even more special. ❤️Jacqui
Not only is it the first time the Netflix shows crossed over with the movies, it's the first time Daredevil and Spider-Man crossed paths with each other in any live-action portrayal. They've met and teamed up many, many times in the comics and even share a few supervillains because they both operate in New York City. They even met and fought Kingpin together in the 90's cartoon series. But they've never met in the movies until now.
It has also been confirmed that there is a new Daredevil project in the works with Charlie Cox returning in the role. Whether it's a movie or a fourth season or a reboot series is still unknown, though.
Awesome! Looking forward to reacting to more Matt Murdock! And thank you for sharing about Daredevil and Spider-man crossing paths for the first time. Neither Sam nor I knew that, so it adds a whole to new layer of excitement to that moment. ❤️Jacqui
@@theshamelist it has already been announced that in November (I think) of 2024 we will have a new Daredevil show called Daredevil:Born Again and it will be the first marvel live action show with 18 episodes instead of the usual 6. And of course Charlie Cox will reprise the roll. But before that show he will appear alongside Kingpin in the Echo show (echo from the Hawkeye series who in the comics has a love relationship with daredevil). Charlie Cox is coming back in style baby
I love watching things that Jacqui has seen and Sam hasn't for two major reasons: 1) seeing Sam's reactions to live through them and 2) knowing when to look at Jacqui because she's about to look right at the camera and we lock eyes.
The sore back reference was also about how Tobey hurt his back on the first movie and was almost replaced by Jake "Mysterio" Gyllenhaal as Spider-Man in the second.
Aunt May is the only one in all the movies that says the "With great power" line actually comic book accurate
Really? That’s such a cool fun fact - thank you!! - Sam
Jacqui is my new favorite reactor for her taking the moment to give Matt Murdock the proper due and explain why it's a BIG deal.
You're too sweet! But I think we can both agree that Matt Murdock is the real MVP here ❤️Jacqui
That tiny cameo made me go and watch Daredevil- I loved it.
My new favorite thing ever said about Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man: “That’s not just some random guy, that’s THE random guy!”
My new favorite nickname for Alfred Molina: Whatsitsface
No Way Home is set right at the end of the events of the Loki show. Hence the multiverse theme.
the reason why doc ock's tentacles can extend to long lengths is because in spider-man 2 when he first introduces his tentacles he mentioned that they are nanotech which also explains why it was able to absorb peter's nano suit (iron spider suit)
Fascinating! Thank you for this fun fact! - Sam
Norman Osborne/Oscorp tried to replicate the Super Serum that made Captain America. However, Their version was in the form of gas and it was completely unstable but Norman Osborne insisted on testing it in himself by inhaling it and that's how he became Green Goblin.
THANK YOU - sincerely, Sam
I thought he already suffered from some sort of inherit psychological illness as well and that was why Harry was seeing his father before he took the formula.
This movie was a different breed
This is my favorite Spiderman movie and I love you guys reaction to it. You two had me laughing my a** off so much. Thank you so much, you two are great. I'm sorry that you two couldn't continue together with this channel. Yes, I do understand why you two did what you did. I totally respect you two for putting your friendship before this channel. It's what real friends do for each other, not letting something like this channel mess up your friendship. Thank you.
I absolutely LOVED this movie! But I feel so bad for Peter at the end. To have lost both his father and mother figures and to then have nobody know who he is…it’s way too sad. I want him to somehow reconnect with people.
You two were talking about the three different sets of Spiderman movies and what people thought of them and stuff. What most people have forgotten is that there were two live action Spiderman movies made back in the 70's. I saw them when I was little and it made me appreciate the Spiderman cartoons that much more. So when they started making all these live action comic movies (X-Men, Spiderman, etc.) around the year 2000. Like so many people, I was thrilled that the technology was finally there to finally do these movies justice. The best comic live action stuff back in the day was Superman staring Christopher Reeve, and the live action tv series of the Incredible Hulk staring Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk.
The comment about your brain being filled with things that dont matter in real life.. I feel that.
Not the first time, but the second time. Jarvis from Agent Carter was in Avengers Endgame when Tony went back in time for the Tessaract and meet his father.
You might have to give the CGI from spider man 2 somewhat of a rewatch. It’s the first superhero film to win an Oscar, specifically for visual effects. To this day, many strongly believe it holds up really well. Mainly because the film used a ton of practical effects. Meaning, the arms of Doctor Octopus you see in the movie, are real pieces moved by puppeteers. Also the CGI for no way home, along with most MCU films, are controversial to say the least
You’re right! Upon a quick rewatch, the CGI in Spider-Man 2 still holds up very well! Didn’t know about it’s Oscar though, which is such a cool fact, thank you! - Sincerely, Sam
Saw it recently and was impressed
#OverdueSighting laughing at 'Yes, my spider lord.'
I love the literal quaking with anticipation at 18:42 😁
“Wait, wait, wait, wait… I need brain minutes”.
I had the same reaction!
BTW, you need to see the Loki and Hawkeye shows if you haven't. They're amazing.
I've already seen _Loki_ but _Hawkeye_ is on the list ;) - Sam
@@theshamelist Hawkeye is such an underrated show. Funny and heartwarming and introduces some great new characters from the comics.
Moon Knight as well
Just to clarify, there is no "extended edition" of the original Star Wars trilogy, you're thinking of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. However, there are "special editions" of the original SW trilogy,, which got a theatrical release in the late 90's shortly before The Phantom Menace came out and consisted of tweaks that George Lucas had made. There were some scene additions/changes, but it was mostly effects changes due to the advancements of CGI. The original trilogy has actually been tweaked a second time by Lucas and that is the most common version that you find on DVD and Blu-Ray these days. It is EXCEEDINGLY hard to find the original, unaltered theatrical releases of the OT on playable media and still rather difficult to find the 90's versions of the "special editions" as well.
Peter Parker in the comics and every cartoon/film outside of the Raimi/Tobey films has web shooters.
They did temporarily give comic book Peter organic webbing for a few years during the Tobey run of films, but eventually reversed it back to web shooters.
Ah! Good to know! Thank you for sharing. ❤️Jacqui
'Longest Miles Morales Discussion' award
I feel the need to point out that them using the multiverse concept here is not Marvel taking inspiration from current real world science. Not only has the general concept of the multiverse and parallel realities been a part of science fiction since long before it had any credibility in the scientific community, but Spider-man in particular has done at least half a dozen separate multiverse arcs across the comics, shows, movies and even video games, going back several decades.
In fact, to this day one of my favorite Spidey story arcs is from the 90s animated series when Madame Web and The Beyonder brought Spider-mans from several different realities together to stop something that threatened to destroy all universes. That arc happens to include what I think may have been the first ever Stan Lee cameo.
You both seem cool. Have very much been enjoying the Ted Lasso reactions.
Thank you! We film in a very cold studio, so staying cool is pretty easy. Hope to see you around more often! - Sam
To steal a phrase: hearing about orange and teal makes me feel like a smaller piece of...
I went to see this in the cinema and I loved it. Unfortunately a customer had a heart attack when Spider-Man was on the roof with MJ after his aunt died. The film started back about 40 minutes later! I went back to see it again the next week. I bloody loved it.
That's crazy! An earthquake hit while I was watching Endgame (for the third time lol)--literally as Thanos was bombing the compound. It took longer that it should've for us to realize it was an earthquake. For a few seconds, we all thought it was some kind of 4D experience! ❤️Jacqui
26:16 Later in the series, Clint is also seen drinking from a "Thanos Was Right" mug.
I kinda want one... 😋
'Cool youth pastor' should have had bigger laughs in the theatre, thanks for doing your part.
Just realised ging looks a bit like the ginger one in daredevil. Noticed when Matt Murdock came on screen.
One thing that I've noticed years ago is the variation in Spiderman when it comes to his web shooters. Most of the time Peter has mechanical web shooters but there are a lot of other times his web shooters are like Tobey's. It has varied over the years.
Do you mean in the comic books? I don't remember them at all; I always thought Tobey's were the only internal ones. Can you tell me which runs? Thanks!
@@tracy4290 if I remember right, I could be wrong, in the comics Peter always had the mechanical web shooters unless I missed it somewhere. In the cartoons and other shows and stuff, I do remember at some point, before Tobey Maguire, Spiderman had organic web shooters. I can't remember when, because all the Spiderman stuff that I've seen and read over the last 50 years is all jumbled in my head, but I do remember him having Organic web shooters at some point.
7:44 "Neil Patrick Harris is a gift". Agreed, and if y'all haven't seen "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog", I'd highly recommend it. 👍❤
Lol Andrew was worried about Toby being stabbed because Andrew spidermans weakness is small knives
Deep cut Easter Egg: when MCU Peter says he was in the Avengers and "Garfield" Peter asks if that is a band, there is a Punk band called The Avengers. Sam Rhami knows Penelope Houston the lead singer.ruclips.net/video/C5O9TN0OAUk/видео.html
Yay one of your movie reactions I can watch because I've actually seen this amazing movie and the rest of this month too. 💃💃💃
Another reaction that's greatness. I love Sam's surprise excitement and Jacquis excitement for Sam's surprise. Also like you both Raimes Spider-Man was my childhood. Can't wait for more and for this channel to hit 1,000 subs.💗💜💙
Aw! Glad we could give you more to enjoy. Thank you again for the support! ❤️Jacqui
Bendict Cumberbatch is British. We are the Kings and Queens of dry-witted sass 😉
This is Dr. Stranges' fault, not Peter's. You would think the genius level adult/sorcerer might ask the teenager, "did you call the school yet?" BEFORE he casts the world altering magic spell, you know, because he's the adult. Yet, he blames Peter. Still loved the movie as a whole.
I saw the thumbnail and was at first, oof.. dropped a Ted Lasso early.. nope, but this was fun too. And yes, get your cute top having self into StarWars Missy...
It was funny how Jacqui was put through the “haven’t watched Star Wars” shame, been there 😁😁 I just watched them 2 months ago🫠
She's going to be watching them. Believe me, she will be. She. Will. Be. - love, Sam
Fun fact: This isn't actually the first time a TV character has crossed over into an MCU movie. Jarvis from Agent Carter was in Endgame. But... Daredevil is definitely a bigger deal. Sorry Jarvis haha.
Agent Carter came back after she had her own show.
@@Dreaming707 She wasn't originally from a show though. She was originally from the movies.
30:58 If Y'all love Willem Dafoe (as well you should), I'd highly recommend The Boondock Saints. A truly great movie and he's brilliant in it.
I was one of the many that didn't care for Garfield's Spiderman. He killed it in this version though. His insecurity, desperate desire to be liked, and excitement to have "brothers". How excited he was that some version of himself might actually have been in a band.
Also, in a film full of funny one liners, the "cool youth pastor" just kills.
I don’t know if anybody has ever pointed out, if the spell makes everyone forget who Peter Parker is, what does that do to the other multiverses? Did it only work in the multiverse? Shouldn’t it cross over to the other multiverses? Will MJ in the Tobeyworld forget him too?
I love this movie 🎥 & seeing all the spider men together I could watch a film about them just talking 😂
“First time someone from the TV shows has made it into a movie” nope, Jarvis the butler was in Endgame.
Of course! How could we forget Jarvis? ❤️Jacqui
Loved this reaction guys. Need to start Ted Lasso so i can come back to your channel.
We'd love that! But also watch Ted Lasso because it's just an amazing show! ❤️Jacqui
Love it!!! Great reactions and lead up kept me engaged the whole time💖💖 love you both
Thank you sweetie
Something funny that I heard said... Peter is a Star Wars fan so how long does it take him to realize that Jedi Master Mace Windu is Nick Fury?
Now when I hear the Lizard, I hear the King’s Hand’s voice ep 1-3 of house of dragon.
Btw, Thanks for providing me the name of that cinematography technique name.
Edit: I subscribed due to the reaction to the youth pastor comment
From all the reactions I saw on YT, you guys are the best. I'm having fun watching your reactions. It's my first time seeing you guys, and I can't wait for more of your "comic book movies" content, cause I had A LOT of recommendations for you both.
Thank you! We had a blast doing it! And please let us know anything you’d like to see. We have a long list going, but I’m sure there’s some overlap, and we’re always looking for new things! ❤️Jacqui
Great reaction n now I’m a subscriber
Thank you, and welcome to our little family! ❤️Jacqui
You two just got a subscribe lol entertaining reaction
Wonderful, thank you! Glad to have you join us, see you again soon! - Sam
I was in the mood for a new spiderman reaction video and found you guys! Love it, you guys are great! And I’m 100% in love with Jacqui 😂❤️ Loved the Matt Murdock excitement, that moment doesn’t get enough reaction in other videos👏🏾 And it’s so amazing that Sam has avoided spoilers and is genuinely surprised all the freakin time…and Jacqui’s giddy face everytime something big comes up 😍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the love! ❤️Jacqui
You guys are so funny and precious ❤️❤️🙏🏾
Thank you! We're glad you could join us! ❤Jacqui
so weird, watching this reaction, like 8 minutes into the video and a stupid little spider runs over my screen (I don't like spiders) and for a hot second I didn't know if it was real or like within the video. such a weird experience!!!
So the thing behind the whole "My Back!" thing with Tobey is that he actually hurt himself in the harnesses doing the stunts on the original movie, and it became a big contentious thing between his team and the studio as to whether or not he would come back for the sequel.
Luckily he did come back for SM2, which is why they included that bit in the movie when he lost his powers.
Also -- if he hadn't come back for the sequel, the person the studio had already lined up to replace him as Peter Parker was a young Jake Gyllenhaal -- who ended up playing Mysterio in the last Spiderman movie.
Oh yeah! I think I remember hearing that, but it didn't occur to me in the moment. Thank you for pointing it out!
And you gotta appreciate the irony of Jake Gyllenhaal. I'm sure they had a laugh about it on the set of Far From Home! ❤️Jacqui
@@theshamelist - Also, when you get around to having Jacqui watch through Star Wars, I would suggest watching them in a specific order known as 'The Machete Order'
the tl;dr is that you watch: IV, V, then jump back to watch II & III, and then watch VI
You do this because you watch Luke on his journey through A New Hope and Empire, get the big reveal, and then treat the Hayden movies as an extended "How Did We Get Here" Flashback sequence (Phantom Menace is optional) before finally watching Jedi, which Jacqui will appreciate because if you go straight from III into VI you see a lot of parallels between Luke & Anakin (via story beats, character arcs/behaviors, and even in costuming and audio queues)
In creating the prequel series, George was famous for repeating the Mark Twain quote - “History never repeats itself, but it does often rhyme” - and the back half of The Machete Order really showcases that in the Star Wars franchise.
Figured as a filmmaker she'd be able to appreciate it more than most.
@@theshamelist Fun fact: Tobey briefly dated Kirsten Dunst after the first movie came out. By the time Jake was being considered for Spider-Man 2, HE was dating Kirsten. And we know that Andrew dated Emma Stone, and Tom is dating Zendaya, so basically all the Spider-Man actors (or those who were seriously in the running) ended up dating their leading ladies!
@@toddsmitts The Spider-man casting directors should moonlight as matchmakers! ❤️Jacqui
Also that cherry top is dayum cute
I have that same Marvel mug 😂
You have excellent taste, darling - love, Sam
There's a very credible rumor going around that threes a push to get Garfield his third movie to finish off his trilogy. 🤞
I’ll start the crowdfund! ❤️Jacqui
Daredevil and the punisher were the 2 best mcu Netflix shows
Peter affording appartment from remaining cash from tony stark charity maybe
This movie is Member Berries to the max!
And when u see Marvels Eternals u can see why Thanos may have been right.
Tobey Maguire is back in action!
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits
But do you know who else deserves a big thank you?
LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth
Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
Great reaction, guys! I agree with just about everything you said about this movie and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you think about Multiverse Of Madness.
#UnexpectedGoosebumps 'Am I gonna see what's-his-face?'
Nah but you really need to watch the original star wars trilogy. It is still SO SO SO good. Still the best star wars movies/anything that exists.
55:25 my jaw dropped
Ah, Sam is meme-blind. Got it
My first vertigo shot: _Jaws_
That’s an iconic one, and I’m pretty sure the one every movie RUclips channel uses to explain it 😂 ❤️Jacqui
@@theshamelist Doesn't _Body Double_ have some as well?
Jacqui always is beautiful, but she is particularly stunning here
Yaaa
If Marc Webb doesn't return for TASM3
Then Sony should let PHIL LORD and CHRIS MILLER direct and produce the movie
They could save it from AVI ARAD, just like they did with SPIDER-VERSE
#LordMiller4TASM
Did you know that you can no longer legally watch the theatrical cut of a new hope you can't buy the theatrical version anymore
Andrew Garfield was the best peter/ spider man and I enjoyed this movie. And both Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield is so hot and talented:)
Looking forward to the batman reaction............ till then i'll be in the shadows. Waiting.
Also, since you guys said ur catching up with marvel does that mean you'll do the marvel tv shows as well?? Cuz i really wanna see a moon knight reaction series.
We definitely want to! Just have to figure out where they work in the schedule. ❤️Jacqui
@@theshamelist hope you guys can make it happen.
Also, if you haven't you guys should atleast watch WandaVision because it directly leads into multiverse of madness.

i didn't mind i was ok that andrew garfield spider-man and tom holland spider weds are not organic that they are artifical i love embrace it for what it is i actually love the amazing spider-man 1 and 2 movies they were good underrated movies to me i had no problems issues with the amazing spidr-man movies 1 and 2 it was as good to me just like the early 2000s tobey maguire spider-man to me sure the majority alot of people didn't like the amazing spider-man movies they think it was bad not as good as tobey maguire spider-man movies but only some of us in the miniroty love the amazing spider-man 1 and 2 don't get me wrong i also love tobey maguire and tom holland spider-man as well i know that 3 alternate universe are unique of course everyone is going to nitpick the flaws in movies and shows that's because that there is no such thing as a perfect movies and shows at all i think perfection is overrated to me anyway it doesn't matter if a movie and show is popular or unpopular they are always going to have there flaws with people nitpick some of the things that they don't like at all but i think that a movies and shows don't have to be perfect at all i think they don't have to be perfect at all there are some movies and shows i love enjoy with most movies and shows that are popular and some that are unpopular too i don't want a movie, show and video games to be perfect i love it when movies, shows and video games have flaws because i think it's normal natural for a movies, shows and video games to have flaws because it's organic because if a movie, show and video game didn't have no flaws it was perfect i think that not be natural and not organic at all to me i just love embrace the flaws i know that the majority don't like and don't embrace flaws at all even we also have flaws ourselves too we are not perfect ourselves either i think that's ok because i love and embrace our flaws and i love embrace my flaws too
33:02 I must say, it's very refreshing and authentic that instead of putting on a show of waterworks like most reactors, Y'all are comfortable standing over Aunt May's fresh corpse and discussing the cinematography of the scene. 😛
Y’all are amazing. The Ted Lasso watch through hooked me. I’m here for some Marvel with you!
Same Lasso fan and MCU fan
Okay, here's what you need to do: You need to watch the original Star Wars trilogy, BUT you need to watch the prequels in between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I think this makes the last movie richer, it ends it on a positive note, and some of the changes they made to the movie in recent years will make more sense. ("Rogue One" takes place just before "A New Hope". It's a great film, but not technically part of the Skywalker saga, so it's optional viewing).
Neither of us knew about the machete order, and now we've had two requests to do it that way. We might just have to! Thank you for letting us know. Hopefully we'll see you when we dive into Star Wars! ❤️Jacqui
@@theshamelist I believe technically the Machete order omits Episode I entirely, although I think it would be a mistake to do that. It's not a perfect film, but you'd miss out on a lot of great stuff, including the best live action lightsaber fight, in my opinion.
Other than that, yes, I think this is the best way to go for newcomers. Thanks for the response and looking forward to more Ted Lasso! 🙂
The only thing in this entire movie I would have changed is the scene where Andrew's Spiderman says "I love you guys!" We KNOW they're all Nerds. We know Tom's Spiderman makes movie references all the time. Instead of saying "Thank you." Tobey and Tom should have looked at each other as if thinking the same thought, nodded to confirm, then turned to Andrew and said "I know." Like Han Solo did in Empire Strikes Back.
I watched the Tobey Maguire trilogy back in the day, (even though the third one was so bad it made mentally change the actor's name to Tobby McGoo) and I was so disapppointed I never watched the Andrew Garfield movies. I loved Spiderman in the MCU movies and this one made me squeal with girlish glee at it's many callbacks,
This is a safe space, as we also squealed with girlish glee! Thanks for joining us! ❤️Jacqui

Love the reactions, but AOS is the best Marvel TV show and had several people from the movies appear in the show years before this. Don't forget the original! Show some love.
Stop talking so much and watch the damn movie
wasn't Andrew Garfield fired because he wanted his peter parker to be bisexual?
That guy is abomination. Realy, what a hell is this? Guy, girl, who?!?!
I also share your confusion - who are those abominations trying to hurt poor Peter Parker?!?!? - Sam
Jessica jones is trash…that’s one of the ones “we don’t talk about”…daredevil>punisher>luke cage>iron fist>Jessica jones
