After Quentin Beck frames Peter Parker for his murder and reveals Parker's identity as Spider-Man,[N 1] Parker, his girlfriend Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson, best friend Ned Leeds, and aunt May are interrogated by the Department of Damage Control. Lawyer Matt Murdock gets Parker's charges dropped, but the group grapples with negative publicity. After Parker, MJ, and Ned's MIT applications are rejected, Parker goes to the New York Sanctum to ask Stephen Strange for help. Strange casts a spell that would make everyone forget Parker is Spider-Man, but it is corrupted when Parker repeatedly requests alterations to let his loved ones retain their memories. Strange contains the spell to stop it and makes Parker leave.
Parker tries to convince an MIT administrator to reconsider MJ and Ned's applications but is attacked by Otto Octavius. Octavius rips Parker's nanotechnology from his Iron Spider suit, which bonds with his mechanical tentacles and allows Parker to disable them. As Norman Osborn arrives and attacks, Strange teleports Parker back to the Sanctum and locks Octavius in a cell next to Curt Connors. Strange explains that before he could contain the corrupted spell, it summoned people from other universes within the multiverse who know Spider-Man's identity. He orders Parker, MJ, and Ned to find and capture them; they locate and retrieve Max Dillon and Flint Marko.

Can't they pause the movie while one of them is gone and then cut that part out the video?
And then continue after he is back?
This dude laughs throughout the entire video like a psychopath
I binged yall's Spiderman series all the way & I absolutely loved the journey! Thank you ❤️
in the comics I think they still remembered spiderman and such like all the events happened, just anything related to peter was forgotten and who spiderman was.
Fun fact: That hug with the 3 Peter's was improvised on the spot by Tom, which makes the moment even more wholesome! ☺
Well, he hugged them off screen. They all shared a moment and the director wanted to capture that on camera so they recreated it for the scene
And the "I love you guys"
@@6TomCruz6 Well, that was actually Andrew being himself on set.
Source?
~I Made It Up~
@@robertrivera5569 Andrew did say that
When I watched this movie in theaters opening night, at the part where MJ is falling a bunch of people yelled "ANDREW!!" as if he could hear them begging him to save her lol 😂 but then he did save her so it was cool lol
Justin being like "oh no!" from the bathroom made me laugh so much 🤣
Same I was dying laughing at that 🤣🤣🤣🤣! He immediately recognized Andrew’s voice and wanted to see what was happening in the worst way too 🤣!
When they released the actual script, the ending killed me all over again and made me bawl my eyes out while I was on break at work. "Peter Parker is no more... but Spider-Man lives on"
yeah, that line makes me tear up every time
If Tom Holland narrated his story like Tobey, he would’ve say that line
@@thegiftedfire3470 and it would've been... PERFECT!
That felt like something straight out of a comic's text box. Amazing.
@@OriginalPuro you never know, I could be nothing more than a mere ghost, communicating through RUclips comments.
I love how Jane says Justin’s name when something bad happens in the movie like he can do something about it 🤣
What made May’s death so emotional for me is how realistic it was. She didn’t give some grand speech and there wasnt the dramatic closing of the eyes and her head dropping like you often see. One minute she was talking to him (“what’s wrong?”) and then she was gone and eyes open but the light in them gone. I bawled.

I also love that Tobey stopped Tom from killing Goblin. It seems like he always regretted not being able to save Norman.
Also, Green Goblin's revamped outfit is really cool.
That was a great moment, sort of like a big brother character.
The outfit is more comic accurate and it was done soooo well.
@@BlackGirlMarvel It's also amazing just how much more menacing Dafoe's Green Goblin looks WITHOUT the mask. Dude already has this, for lack of a better expression, villainous & expressive face. I don't care if it's not green; use it! LOL
@@thedefinitionisthis Yeah, they were mad to hire Dafoe to play Green Goblin and cover his face up in the first place.
@@Aurich88 You do know about the fact that the movie was made in 2003 right? Making a cgi with a accurate human face is not yet available my dude that's the reason why they choosed to have an helmet.
I've mentioned this before but I absolutely love the way Tom, Tobey and Andrew finish eachothers sentences.
"She told me that with great power--"
"--comes great responsibility."
"Uncle Ben said it--"
"--The day he died".
It's pure poetry
This was the first film I saw in theaters after Covid. It was a packed theater. The cheers when Andrew came in, the roar when Tobey showed. The tears I shed and shared when May said those immortal words.
It was an experience I will never forget.
and everybody was silent when Charlie Cox appeared? Lame theater
@@Kassadin10 Almost all of the Audience in my theatre were cheering for him. Guess I was lucky to be there lol. Since, not even Charlie Cox get that audience 😂💀.
The scene with all the Spidermen interacting on the high school roof makes me cry every time. Even when I am watching reactions. Their connect from related grief and experiences is so emotional.
This one does it for me too. To see all of them talk about Uncle Ben and Aunt May and the Responsibility speech. Shit always broke me. 😭 when all the SM hit the screen there wasn’t a second that wasn’t heartfelt. ❤️
Jane screaming "JUSTIN!!" when she get scared is the cutest thing evah! It makes me laugh so hard lol Great reaction!
Lol fr almost like she's telling him to do something but what can he do?
my dream is to find a women who is like that
Tom's Peter did have an Uncle Ben and he did give the responsibility speech back when he died. This was referenced in Civil War by Peter to Tony. His Aunt was just restating it here (using the original comic wording instead of how his Uncle said it) to remind him of it which is why Peter quickly responds to her with an "I know" signaling that he remembers his uncles words through hers.
I don't think Uncle Ben had a responsibility speech but more that it was a big value he taught Peter growing up
@@rx3la I think it did happen to some extent cuz when Aunt May said it, his response was like as if he had heard something similar before
I love how the effects team really demonstrates the impact from spideys punches in his final fight with goblin, really shows how is strength increases the more he rages.
He's a hero who pulls back his puches
He's not like Hulk
And in that scene he didn't pulled off his punches
that dent he left after his ground pound was a perfect example and it's also a reference to the PS4 move you do when pressing Square while in the air and there's an enemy under you he does the exact same move Peter did in NWH as in PS4
@@_TripleChanger-Achilles_ mcu adding that dent was so good
Is not like that,he always pull back his punches trying to not hurt his enemies.
Which is crazy considering he can go toe to toe with Hulk when he doesn’t hold back.
Did you notice what MJ was wearing in that last shots in the coffee shop? She was still wearing the Black Dalia Necklace that Peter bought her in the previous movie. So she remembers something on some level...
Thanks for the fun, emotional reaction!
@NEP84 she has to know on some subconscious level how she got it and the meaning it has behind it. She said she was gonna figure it out anyways
@@angelherrera7108 I don’t think that’s how the magic works. When they were talking in the coffee shop if I remember correctly Peter points out her injury and she gives a different explanation for it meaning her memories are warped to forget all her past events with Peter
I always found the Goblin's monologues about gods and power in the first Spider-Man movie to be rather cheesy. But they just seemed to have more resonance now in this movie. Maybe because it's been 20 years, and we've now had literal gods abusing their powers in the MCU that adds more weight to Goblin's words.
56:53 By far, the most memorable scene in this movie for me. The look on Andrew's face and it's like, "We know, man. We know." #TheFeels
Yeah i totally agree. I mean i'm sure some people forgot about the film "amazing spiderman". The 56:53 scene refers to what happened in the second movie (u already know what i'm talking about)
Andrew was always my fav.
Gotta admit it's impossible to avoid spoilers from this movie cause it's all over the internet when it came out. There's no way u guys managed to avoid it. LMAO
they probably didn´t im afraid :/
Yea fr like it was everywhere I find it hard to believe too.
It was work but I managed to do so and went dark for everything about this movie leading to the release lol I had to run out the theaters or room when the trailer starts playing on tv. Believe me my genuine reaction when finally seeing this trying to avoid EVERYTHING as possible is 1,000% amazing!! I even did it for multiverse of madness
@@peppelonnberg1198 fax couldn’t even open RUclips, or even TikTok without getting spoiled
I avoided them because I wasn't searching for them
Every time Jane goes like "JUSTINNN" I'm like:
"He... He can't do anything to change the movie... lol"
1:00:43 I love how they tied in the "One More Day" story line from the comics. Great execution of an iconic moment in Spidey's history.
When i watched the movie premiere in December and i heard the line ''With great power, comes great responsibility'' i knew May was going to die. This line is cused man...
I want so bad to see more on Andrew's darker Spider-Man when he said he stopped pulling his punches and got rageful
Seeing this movie opening night was one of the best experiences of my entire life!
Honestly, it’s time he grows up as Spider-Man. He’s been hand fed everything to him and he really needed a massive push to get to the next level. I was hoping that push would have happened around Endgame but this works.
The whole trilogy was basically his origins whereas andrew and Toby's origins happened on their first film
Him being "spoon-fed" is probably why I love the Holland trilogy so much. "Homecoming" was essentially a John Hughes teen movie with Spider-Man in it. So, i think it's appropriate that his trilogy really is this story-arc for him "growing up" and "graduating" to becoming the Spider-Man we all recognize. The notion of him having suits made for him, and being able to rely on the Avengers, I saw as essentially him being coddled by his parents or teachers. When you're a kid, more often than not, you are essentially being handed all the tools you need to get through your adolesence, and prepare you for adulthood. But it was all still true to comic-book lore where Peter would have things gifted to him (suits or whatever), but those were later in his Spider-Man career, which is what the MCU Spidey paid homage to until "No Way Home." But when he loses Aunt May, and makes the conscious decision to have everyone forget him, that's him finally growing up; he's emancipated from his "parent" and "teacher" figures, and strikes out on his own. Instead of "adulthood", it's him being the classic Spider-Man. I love that him becoming the "classic" Spider-Man is something that happens over a few years, as opposed to simply the first movie.
Yeah but I think they went a little overkill with him. Yeah other incarnations have it rough compared to MCU Peter but he has now literally lost everything, friends family, identity. They need a 4th movie and at least give him something back.
@@digitaladventurer2142 I agree that it's overkill. But it seems like some Spidey fans aren't happy unless Peter Parker is just one small step away from living in a dumpster filled with medical waste. :p
@@marcw6875 no fr they say hes “finally spiderman” as if he doesnt have the choice to honestly not want to do it anymore with how everythings going
Willem Dafoe only agreed to return if he could do his own stunts. Goblins fight scenes look so great thanks to that
Alright, so there was already some version of nanotechnology in the Raimi trilogy, but not nearly as able to be shown off as the MCU can do it. It's mentioned in the first one that Norman Osborn worked on it, and in the second movie Oscorp funded Otto's work, and he mentioned that there was some type of nanochip involved with the Tentacles.
I could just watch all the spider-men talk for hours that was so good and Green Goblin felt more menacing than ever I loved it
In this film, Aunt May said the exact phrase "great power" as it was written in the original Spiderman comics.
37:45
Willem scared the piss out of Tom for that shot reportedly. The laugh and smile was off script, if i recall from an interview correctly
Hearing Willem Dafoe's evil Goblin laugh in this gave me CHILLS, fucking ICONIC sound, I love it
I think it's interesting that the end of the Tony Stark (TS) Spiderman suits symbolizes the "training wheels" coming off, which when he first started wearing the TS Suits it booted up stating "training wheels protocol initiated". So now he no longer needs assistance being Spiderman, he knows how to sacrifice it all like Tony did, and what it means being a hero. He is now Spiderman.
The fact that Wilhelm did most of the stunts at his age now is incredible
Also this version of Peter Parker has lost so many loved ones
His parents
Uncle Ben
Tony stark
Now aunt may
And everyone else who knows and loves him have no memories of him now so he's basically alone now until he tells MJ and need who he is
And the Spiderman suit he makes at the end is like a blend of Tobey's Andrews and his all put together
I honestly want a marvel movie where a hero either rebels or just doesn’t help anyone anymore because the way the people treat heroes after they saved them 100’s of times😂
I totally agree with u
Yeah, but until super recently they're treated like heroes.
so...Hancock?
So basically you want a Green Goblin movie
That would be boring, anti-climactic, stupid and useless...
"Oh, no!"
🤣 That made me laugh super hard.
Congrats on getting here you guys. This is a milestone and the best tribute to the last 20 years of Spider-Man. Such an emotional film. I knew we’d see the other spidermen in this movie before it came out bout I still shouted with joy in the cinema along with everyone else attending. Perfect spidy movie
Imagine walk out in the middle of the movie... you can just use pause...
One of my my favorite things about this movie is the impact that Norman Osbourne has on the MCU’s version of Spider-Man. We see him in the first scenes in the original trilogy, and it blows my mind that he would ultimately become the catalyst for Tom Hollands version to grow into the Spider-Man that we all know and love. We were led to believe that Tom had already had his “Great power comes great responsibility” moment prior to homecoming. But in this universe, it turned out to be aunt May instead. This provides such a great link between the franchises and really glues everything together so well. In a way, the whole MCU trilogy up to this point was Spider-Man’s origin story.
I've seen this film 4 times already but last night I went to see it again in the theater with the extra footage and my eyes are still puffy from crying so hard. It was worth the rewatch and I really enjoyed the extra scenes, I won't spoil what was new but If you get a chance to rewatch it do it, even the extra scene at the very end is different now because Dr. Strange already came out.
No

I don’t trust anyone, man or woman, who is afraid of or ashamed of their own tears.
This is literally the best reaction to this movie🤣 esp 42:07 because JV went to the washroom and he was like "OH NO!"💀
The fact she had to ASK which Green Goblin this was, like anyone else ever wore this suit.
The Andrew save part was so emotional 🥺
I watched several reactions to this movie already, but Jane and Justin are the best feelings! It's okay to feel stuff that makes you cry!
I forget where I saw this explained, but Peter still being able to move his body while he was astral projected outside his body was because of his spider-sense. Either the director or one of the script writers said this in an interview a few months ago.
How she didnt pause it while you left is beyond me... Also fun fact, in the comics, Ned is actually the Hob goblin so they could be setting that up for the next movie arc. We did see the other two Spider-Man fight their best friends.
I wonder too if all the people in all the universes' will forget who Peter is. That would kind of suck for the other two Peter Parkers lol.
I mean, that's on him too. I can't fathom reacting to something like an MCU movie for the first time and deciding I need to take a bathroom break without pausing the movie, lol
@@ry.the.stunner - Well, from what I have observed, most of the time with these, it is a "First Time Watching" for Jane only, but not for Justin - usually he's already seen it, but she hasn't so he probably isn't as concerned about it since he usually has already seen the movie anyways. However, I agree 100% with all the comments on here about there was no legitimate reason why it wasn't paused, seems like it would have been so easy to do - the only thing I could think of as a legitimate reason for it was maybe it was a live stream reaction during the actual recording, so maybe he didn't want to interrupt the viewers?? Other than that, no reason I could think of not to pause it.
But, on the other hand, it's not like you can pause in the theater, and sometimes when you go out to the movies, you still have to take a bathroom break, and if you got to go, you got to go, and you'll miss a few minutes of it, been there many times myself.
Among all the great things about this movie, I love the way that they inverted the entire series with some of the plot beats here. We thought we were getting the endcap to Tom Holland's trilogy, but they set it up where this trilogy is just his origin story. Aunt May gives the "Great Power" speech. Peter is without Stark Tech and having to make his own suit. He's in the crappy apartment. He's even more resolute about keeping his identity a secret.
I also really like the way they used Andrew Garfield here. He's almost like a stand-in for the fans of the TASM movies at times, feeling down on himself and like he doesn't quite measure up to the others.
And then just the maturity of the writing for this movie. The fact that in the third act, amid the crazy action, they take two separate instances to just chill and let the three Spideys talk to each other, understand each other, learn from each other. They each get significant character development. You just don't see that kind of stuff in the MCU very often. It's brilliant.
This movie is so, so, so, so good.
no
There are definitely good things about this film. It's a fun watch.
You have to admit the entire premise is ridiculous. Two very intelligent people couldn't have a ten minute conversation prior to casting a world altering spell, to plan the parameters. Also as HISHE aptly pointed out, Strange could've just cast a spell to make people forget Mysterio - done, sorted. Lol.
It took a silly spell, a trilogy and many other film appearances, but at least Peter is where he's supposed to be now - your working class, friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.
when doctor strange says "you need to understand that this means everyone who knows- who loves you... we would have no memory of you"
that means dr strange also loves peter and idk thats just very special
Seeing this on a huge screen in a packed theater opening night was amazing. The crowd reactions with the three Spidermen were incredible.
i love this one a lot and i love how they treat each other like their brothers and like how Toby's spiderman being the older brother and stopping the younger brother Tom's spiderman from killing goblin also love Doc Oct also originally thought happy would die and him being like peter's uncle and tell him that famous line but didn't think it would be aunt may and love how tom hollands spider man designed his new suit after his brothers suits
The only thing is, without Tony and Pete, I don't know what ties Happy has left to appear in other movies.

Awesome! Just found your channel and I'm subscribing. This movie is a masterpiece. Idk if you guys heard about the rerelease version, but one of the deleted scenes which I thought was beautiful was at the end when Peter is telling MJ and Ned that they're going to forget who he is, MJ offers to be apart of the spell too so that everyone forgets her, but y'know Peter has to decline cuz he wants his friends to go to college. I wish they kept that scene in the original.

This is for me at least the best of Phase 4. The theater erupted a lot with all the screaming with all the returning characters, Tobey and Andrews entrance being the biggest one Andrew's gwen redemption saving MJ, William Dafoe's acting in this is his best ever MAYBE. and it was still a Tom Holland film, This was not a Tobey or Andrew movie at all, they were supportive characters but they still had a good amount of screentime.

It’s so stupid, they miss so much and they have the ability to just pause the movie, it’s not like in theaters. It will mess with the pacing when you pause a movie but better than miss a lot of dialogue, acting and all of that. 🤦🏽♂️

This movie did an amazing job of wiping the slate clean and setting the stage for a more comics-accurate MCU Spider-Man. I'm guessing the next MCU Spider-Man movie will be about Peter getting the symbiote suit, but I doubt Tom Hardy will be involved since Sony is doing it's own thing and building it's own shared universe.
Idk why but it bothered me a little when the movie didn't get paused for J so we could see both reactions to Andrew coming in
It was so dope how they used all three of the Tom Holland movies as his origin story. And Tobey was mentioning his back problem because in the first movie he hurt his back when he felt on the car in the alley

@48:00 the meme was actually the first scene these three did together but it wasn’t this one. As soon as they had all three of them on set they had them all get in their spider gear and reenact the meme picture. This was the first time these three met I think.
I was hyped and in joy when aunt may went out.. only bc I love the Raimi characters so much more than the others and to see goblin shine just made me so so happy!

JV missing Garfield's entrance HURTS
The fact that they are really crying shocked me..

Mark 20:55. Okay, that moment in the previews is when he says, "crap", instead! 👍
Tobe stabbed b-4- that was reference 2 when Goblin son stabbed Peter in spider man 3
I enjoyed this movie so much. For my personal experience, Spider-Man no way home is just about the closest thing to a live-action version of Spider-Man into the spider-verse. All I needed was characters like Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales etc.
These three are basically like the avengers of the spider-verse now. I loved it 🕷️🕸️
Great movie. I love how through sacrifice, the boy becomes the man.
