  • MCU Reaction for No Way Home and what a freaking epic movie Spiderman No Way Home is!!!
    Badd Medicine here and its Spiderman reaction time! Folks, we still can't get over how awesomely epic this movie was! I mean seeing Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield again as spiderman was absolutely insane! Truly an moment in cinema history. We also get to see Willem Dafoe back as the Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx back as Electro, Alfred Molina as Dr. Otto Octavius, Rhys Ifan as Dr. Curt Connors / The Lizard, Thomas Haden Church as Flint Marko / Sandman. Great to see all those villains back. We see for a few moment Daredevil himself, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) giving Peter Parker legal advice. I wonder how they will incorporate him more moving forward. Zendaya did great as MJ. Her and Ned were a great team in this one. Tom Holland crushed this one with Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and we should give a round of applause for Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. She was great and sad to see her go like that. Again the fan service in this movie was absolutely amazing! And that Spiderman post credit scene with Venom (Tom Hardy) are we finally going to see Spiderman and Venom?! Will it be Tom Hardy? It better be! It still feels like a dream. Really happy the Marvel pulled this off for the MCU. And lets hope we can get 1 more Andrew Garfield Spiderman movie! And it feels like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie is going to be out of this world!!!!

    The brilliance of this movie is that it brings Spider-Man back to Square One as a hero. A lot of people complained that the MCU Spider-Man had it too easy with all the Stark tech and Avengers allies. But No Way Home takes that all away at the end. He's back to being the struggling lone hero that is Spider-Man at his core.

    I love when Strange mentions that Peter is still a kid because in a way I think some folks are still too harsh on him. Like with the spell I've seen a lot of people blaming Peter instantly and to be fair it's partially his fault disturbing it so much but would it have been so hard for Strange to have explained the full details of the spell before casting it so that Peter could think "Oh hey here's this group of people that really should still remember who I am."

    • @Beeba10
      @Beeba10 Год назад +58

      Exactly! Thank you. Peter is literally a child (I know he's nearly an adult, he's 16-17 in this film, but still), and sure he may be intelligent, but kids don't always fully think through the things they do. Strange, as the adult and the magical expert, should have explained the exact ramifications of the spell to Peter BEFORE performing it so he would have that insight. I think it's unfair that people blame Peter as much as they do, and don't take into consideration a) his age, and b) his lack of magical knowledge.

    • @demon1103
      @demon1103 10 месяцев назад +8

      Yeah...there seems to be a lot of viewpoints like that, even in the movie itself. Like you said, Strange could have easily told him the details *Before* he cast the spell.
      Then immediately after Dr. Strange gets on Peter's case because of the MIT situation...acting like not getting into MIT was the ONLY reason Peter wanted to have people's memories altered. MIT was just the final straw cementing that a great many people around the world would treat not only him, but his friends and family as no better than criminals because some nutjob framed him.
      Lastly (that I can think of) is the judgment on Peter wanting to help the villians. If he sent them back, he'd be sending them to die. He sees there may be a way to genuinely help them, and that is who Spiderman is, he's the guy who will go to lengths to help people in need.

    I don't think it was so much a second chance as it was a critique on mental health. It's easy to condemn these men as evil, but the only reason they did these things are because of the voices, the massive power trip, Marco's criminal nature of being who he is. Every villain had some mental health side effect that drove them evil. So deciding to help people that need it even when it is hard is something we need more in these times.

      People who do evil because they're fucked up in the head doesn't make them any less evil or deserving of help. Try to help a paedo, or a rapist, or a serial killer, or a psychopath, especially when their brains are literally wired that way. You can't.
      Evil is evil.
      However, there is a quote from Hamlet - "There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so." so granted, certain things are decided by the morals of civilisation of the eras. It's all a matter of perspective and how society runs.

    As a hardcore fan of the character I love Tobey, Andrew and Tom, but Tom Holland is so good as both Peter and Spider-man. I mean, even Stan Lee himself said it that Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man.
    Tom Holland kill it with his performance in this movie and I can’t wait to continue his Spider-man amazing character development.
    Tom Holland Spider-man has lost so much in so little time, it’s crazy.
    Tobey got bit at the age of 17.
    For 17 years, he lived a normal, happy childhood with both Aunt May and Uncle Ben, with no powers or supervillains to deal with. By the age of 18, Uncle Ben has died, but he got to properly graduate from high school with his childhood best friend and move into the city with him.
    Andrew got bit at the age of 17.
    He lost both of his parents at a young age and still carries that pain and yearning with him, but for 17 years, he lived a rather normal childhood with both Aunt May and Uncle Ben, with no powers or supervillains to deal with. By the age of 18, Uncle Ben has died, he becomes Spider-Man, graduates properly with his peers and his high school sweetheart, and lives in his childhood home with Aunt May.
    Tom got bit at the age of 14.
    After living up until freshman year with a relatively normal childhood, he is thrust into the superpowered world, and fights alongside the Avengers after only six months of being a superhero. While in high school, he loses out on hanging out with his friends, attending activities he enjoys, and teenage memories he will never recover, all in the name of heroic responsibility. Eight months into his powers at the age of 15, he defeats his first supervillain, is almost murdered, and loses out on ever going to his high school homecoming dance.
    At the age of 16, he witnesses an alien invasion (for the second time in his life) and goes into a one-way trip into outer space where he dies on an alien planet. While the Blip was instantaneous for most people, for Peter, he understood that he was dying for a whole minute and died in the arms of his mentor. An hour later, he is revived, but he watches his mentor and idol die in front of him and attends his funeral.
    At the age of 17, he is lied to and gaslit by a second supervillain, is almost murdered again, and has his identity revealed to the public and is framed as a murderer, destroying his personal life.
    Later that same week, he discovers the multiverse is real, Aunt May dies, leaving him with no family, the world's memory of him is erased, leaving him no friends or support network of any kind, misses out on properly graduating high school, and lives alone in the city. Being Spider-Man is all he has left.
    And after all of that, only then is he the same age as Peter 2 and Peter 3. And that breaks my heart.
    I can’t wait to see were they take the character next, especially with that offspring of Venom. I hope Scorpion is the one that gets it.

      this is a great comment and i agree with all of it but there is just one technical error because ffh and most of no way home take place months apart from each other than the 20ish first minutes of no way home. We can tell this how far from home was his summer vacation and 1 week after his vacation his identity was exposed. The montages in the first 10 seconds and the college montage in no way home was a showcase of time passing. If ffh took place in like july or august nwh most definitely takes place in December because we know its almost Christmas there from he mirrorverse scene and the ending. He is still 17 though but he doesn't learn of the multiverse 1 week later.

When Tobey left the role, Stan said - "Tobey IS Peter Parker. I love him and what he did for Spider-Man!". I'm sure he had nice things to say about Andrew also. It's just a creator giving praise to the actor that is currently playing the role. For the record, I think all 3 were perfect choices

    Enjoying your guys reactions to all these movies, you have such genuine reactions and it's honestly fun to watch you guys. Now concerning Spiderman trying to save the villains, that's basically who Spiderman is in the comic. He's the hero that always tries to see the best in people, it's his strength and his weakness at the same time. He's the hero who will always do what's right and pay the ultimate price for it. That's what makes him such an exceptional hero. They basically reduced Spiderman to his core essence of having nothing for himself, yet still being selfless.

  • @johnbabylon7626
    @johnbabylon7626 2 года назад +30

    Andrew is widely considered to be the best Spider-Man
    Tobey is usually considered to be a far better Peter.
    That's why Andrew shows up in his Spider-Man costume and Tobey shows up dressed in street clothes. That is just ONE of the dozens of references, meta points and call-backs that the writers put into this movie. Spectacular writing all around and you can tell there was enormous love put into this movie by everyone who worked on it.
    It is fitting that this is the best of all the Spider-Man films and it is the first time in Tom Holland's Spider-Man run where we saw REAL consequences to his decisions. We really saw Tom *become* Spider-Man in this film. He didn't do a bad job in any of the other roles--personally, I think he is the best Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor of all three--but in this one you saw Spider-Man do what Spider-Man does: make the hard, self-sacrificing choices to put others before himself.
    And then, pick up the cross and soldier on. Great movie! Great reaction!

  • @SaGeForReal
    @SaGeForReal 2 года назад +33

    Toby of course is the OG Spider-Man and I grew up with his movies. I really enjoyed Tom’s Spider-Man as well and in NWH, he definitely got to show his serious side and he did a wonderful job. However, my sentimental favorite is Andrew’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man despite Sony really messing everything up with TASM/TASM2. Andrew as well as the TASM cast acting wise really hit me hard and honestly like the realness of his movies. It may not be as epic as Toby and Tom’s movies writing wise, but I still felt so connected to Andrew’s version and I was so incredibly happy that he finally got his redemption in this movie. I love all 3, but I guess you can say in different ways? LOL!
    - Toby got me in OG nostalgia feels
    - Andrew is the one who I most relate to and he got me emotional in this movie.
    - Tom literally is the younger brother who I wanted to hit in the head for his decisions in this movie, but also at the same time I want to protect and give him a hug. 🥺
    I think there are talks/plans for TASM3 and I think I would want to see Andrew’s Peter/Spidey the way he explained in this movie.. the friendly neighborhood Spidey who became a very bitter and vengeful Spidey. Then he can probably meet HIS OWN MJ even though he already said Gwen was HIS MJ already. I want to see his Peter find love like the other Peters/Spideys.
    There’s also rumors about Spider-Man 4 as well.
    But I think it’s all just here say just because both Andrew and Toby said they are up for it!!

    5:35 He's basically the MCU's Alex Jones. JJJ has been reinterpreted as an Infowars-esque conspiracy theorist.
    7:16 It wasn't the Punisher but the same week this film released we also saw the return of Kingpin in Hawkeye. Between that, the renovated Statue of Liberty, and the Rogers the Musical billboards, there was some great synergy going on between the MCU shows and movies. (Also Happy's Pulp Fiction look is a callback to Iron Man 3 to when the film flashbacked to 2000)
    8:25 Not only is "Do a flip!" a callback to Homecoming but that same character (Klev) was also the one who livestreamed Shang-Chi's bus fight.
    11:15 Even without the college experience, a degree is still a degree and opens certain doors and opportunities. Also, MIT is Tony Stark's alma mater so there's a personal reason Peter wants to go there.
    17:35 We already knew the multiverse was real as revealed in the first Dr. Strange film and Avengers: Endgame. If you aren't already, you guys should also consider checking out the Disney+ shows because they further explore the concept. Hell, they've already set up the next Avengers big bad in one of them.
    20:14 You guys may have missed it but the black suit is actually just his regular suit turned inside out. He was struggling with cleaning a massive stain out from when a Mysterio truther threw green paint at him earlier. If you look closely you can even see all the exposed circuitry.
    29:45 Fun fact: One of Willem Dafoe's conditions on returning to the role is that he gets to do as much of the physical stunts himself. Impressive for 66 years old.
    33:50 I like that Tobey's Spidey "won" that little encounter since he's the most seasoned veteran out of all them.
    38:47 Remember when Mason got upset when the trailers didn't spoil this? Some things are better when left as a surprise reveal for the actual film.
    45:20 Actually they do. Sort of. The world still knows about Spider-Man; it's just that any memory of Peter Parker is gone. So their memories have been retconned so that any interaction they had with Peter is replaced with Spidey.
    47:03 We technically did get a Sinister Six. It's just that the 6th member stayed in Mexico the entire time.
    51:50 Yeah but you guys don't seem to realize these villains aren't straight up evil. They were all inherently good people who through tragic accidents were victimized into villains. Even some of their goals could be considered noble. Doc Ock wanted unlimited sustainable energy and Sandman just wanted to provide for his sick daughter. More often than not we see that half of them were corrupted by some form of split personality. Do they really deserve death for that?
    57:45 They also recreated the multiple Spider-Men pointing meme in the movie during the lab scene when Ned calls out for Peter and they start pointing at each other since they don't know which Peter he's referring to.

But the most heartfelt thing for me was the relationship between the Spider-men. I am so glad that they did the same thing as Spider-man Into the Spider-verse with Miles. All of the Spider-men were supportive of each other, they truly felt like long lost brothers, there wasn't any ill intention between them or jealousy or desire to prove oneself the best one, only the unconditional support and understanding and that last hug was the best, truly like a hug to my heart. It was always a fan dream on social media to have all 3 Spidermen in one movie, way before we knew this movie was even in the works.
    I live 5 hours from L.A. due to the hype of possible all 3 Spiderman together, I knew this would be a major even and went to LA to watch this because I knew I would be among crazy die hard fans.
    I definitely was not disappointed. Every character that came on screen got and applause or a cheer. I cannot begin to explain the crowd when Andrew and Tobey came on. Beautiful cheer when Andrew caught MJ. I cried so much. Emotional tears, tears of joy and excitement. This movie was well done.
    Next LA worthy movie: Deadpool & Wolverine. Audience is going to lose their collective shit!
    BTW, I came across your Saltburn reaction and enjoyed u guys so much I probably saved about 15 to 20 movie reactions to my Watch Later. Be expecting.more comments from me. I did my house cleaning listening to your WanadVision reactions. Most of the time I listen while I commute to and from work. Passes the time very well.

    LOVED this entire reaction. Yeahh this movie is def one of my new favorite MCU solo movies just because of how personal it was to THIS Spider-Man specifically, even regardless of the crazy multiverse stuff here. Seeing Tobey and Andrew back made me tear up (still does) and I agree, this movie is definitely so unreal to see.
    Unrelated question but are you guys planning to react to The Batman when it comes out on HBO Max?

    Great reaction you guys. I wanna point out that after the events of this movie, the Avengers still remember Spider-Man, but only as Spider-Man, the Peter Parker persona is the only thing that's erased. Take Happy, he remembers Aunt May through* Spider-Man, because he remembers going to Queens and pickup the web slinger to Germany, he remembers all that, just not his real face and name anymore. And then take Dr. Strange. In his second movie, he referenced a multiversal incident with Spider-Man. So he still knows Spidey, going to space with him, fighting alongside him, helping him in NWH, he remembers it all, just not Spidey's real face and name anymore

      Mine to. Even better then Infinity War. The audience was so into "No Way Home". Some finished the "with great power comes great responsibility"-line along with Aunt May. When Toby appeared they applauded and we also applauded in the end of the movie. I never experienced anything similar before.

    It’s important to note that since everyone forgot who Peter Parker was, that meant any sort of tech with facial recognition or anything that relied on Peter Parker existing was wiped as well and wouldn’t recognize him. So everything Tony built for Peter to use was also lost and could never be used. So not only did he lose may, Ned, MJ, all of his avenger buddies, but he also lost happy and anything that he had left of Stark. Like he literally lost EVERYTHING he ever wanted and had in a span of a few hours.

    Dude I literally just thought of this, but the way that this movie ended, with Peter living by himself with literally everyone gone, reminds me a hell of a lot of the old Peter we saw in Into The Spiderverse. And Electro did say that he wishes there's a black spiderman somewhere out there..... Connection, maybe??

    I saw an interview with Tom Holland a couple days ago… And I thought I heard him say that when he and the green goblin fought for the first time right before Aunt May’s death That originally Willem Dafoe’s character was just supposed to help the other villains escape, but Willem Dafoe began to improvise the fight scene and the directors just went with it and created it from that… Has anyone else heard this?

    I remember seeing Spider man 2 back in 2004, and seeing Doctor Octopus, and I couldn't help but say he would be such a bad ass hero. To see him become one 19 years later was so damn satisfying. This was easily the best Spider man Film ever made. I think the only possible thing that could of made it better was if Venom was one of the antagonists.
