Marvel's Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps-one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

31:09 It's easy to forget just how physically strong Spiderman is, just because of how much Peter tries so hard not to hurt other people. In the comics he can lift nearly 10 tons.
He's gone even further before
I'm pretty sure he's lifted a lot more in the comics. I remember him lifting tanks without significant effort
Fairly sure hes rated 30-40 tons.
The mcu Spider-Man is probably the strongest because in homecoming in the ferry scene where its split in half and he tries to hold it together :O the ferry can weigh up to 2600 tons so he has 1300 tons on both arms and he doesn't die 😅
he's average is 25 tons im pretty sure and he's carried more than that before like 50 tons
“I remember all of them,” breaks my heart every time. as Steve said, what he did wasn’t him but he still has to live with the the memories and trauma from all of it- my heart😭💔
Chadwick is from my hometown (Anderson, South Carolina) & has done so much for the local communities & kids down here. Wakanda Forever, My King 🤴🏿
Wakanda Forever and the 🤴 king 😪❤
Well man I must say
He was a real king .
That line “I don’t care, he killed me mom” always gets me. No matter the circumstances, no man will accept if someone killed there mom. I’d be the same as tony😂😂
True but it is also a classic example of why you can't trust Tony to do anything except for follow his own emotions when he feels like it. I totally get where he's coming from but still he said the Avengers need to be put in check to take responsibility then abandons all responsibility to break the rules cause he's grieving after arresting several Heroes for breaking those rules hours earlier
@@magortom I get what you mean but he hasn’t been totally irrational in his decision making. Not to mention, unlike the most of the others, he’s not a trained soldier, he’s just a guy trying his best to do good. Plus tony wasn’t 100% aware of the circumstances.
I guess the TL;DR is i see your point but i think given the circumstances it’s an unfair criticism.
@@magortom with respect, the exact same argument you just gave could be held against Cap also. At the the time when he chose to believe Bucky was innocent, there was overwhelming evidence he was guilty, but because of his feelings towards Bucky, he chose to believe him when there was no reason to other than what was in Cap's own heart. It turned out to be true, but all the same but that's actually beside the point - you can't hold that against Tony if you don't also hold it against Cap.
Yeah his mum is dead and he wants payback - obviously understandable. But trying to murder someone who was literally brainwashed and did not have a choice, not the people who sent the winter soldier after his parents, is a bit stupid. Going after hydra would be understandable, but a previously brainwashed Bucky less so. Someone shoots your mother with a gun, you don’t get angry with the gun, you get angry with the person aiming the gun.
@@sarparker5362 Actually cap had plenty of past evidence to support the idea (which was true all along) that if Bucky did do these terrible things, he was most likely still under Hydra control. So, cap did in fact have good evidence and reasoning to defend bucky. Also the whole story is showing why cap was also right about the accords.
After the first time Steve jabbed at Tony; "You may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero", I realized I needed to look back at Iron man 1 & 2. What I found was that Steve was right at that point in time. Tony was only a hero due to the fact that the Villain was always after him specifically, so he had no choice but to defeat them. The first thing that could be considered "heroic" Tony did was saving Pepper from the Vanko bombs.
Not true. How about that people in Gulmira he saved?
and everiting great about captain america come from a bottle😂true
I think T'challa, in the climactic scenes of this movie, is the character's coolest moment. Comes off as so damn wise. Does what none of the other heroes are capable of doing, looks outside of himself, realizes that his pain serves no one, and lets go of it. That shit's selfless and heroic. And, dudes in cool costumes having awesome battles aside, that's why we watch hero movies, right? For those depictions of heroism.
In the Comics, Civil War was definitely an Avengers type of event, but went vastly different than in the Movie, but the main premise is sorta the same. It had Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers, Spider-Man, and the Fantastic Four. The story for the comics was Superhero Registration (Unmasking themselves, such as Spider-Man which leads to chaos for his family), and how there were 2 sides Cap's (no registration) and Iron Man's (registration).
You know, that super soldier serum and the quest to reproduce it, is the cause of so much drama. They don't ever seem to play up that fact. It inadvertently created many of the non-mutants, hero or villain in marvel. The stitch that connects most of them.
One little detail I like is after the Accords are signed, Cap no longer has the Avengers logo on his suit. There’s a small “A” on the shoulders of the suit and it’s there at the opening fight but is missing during the Bucky chase.
Pizza came in just in time to watch your reaction religiously 😅
Sitting down with pizza to watch and my eyes fall on this comment while the ads play.
Bucky killed people while not in control of his own mind. Tony tried to murder Bucky without being brainwashed or mind-controlled. Cap saved two people. He saved Bucky from being murdered, and he saved Tony from becoming a murderer.
Tony already is a murderer.... he created weapons that were used, and if you wanna talk about him specifically then ironman 1, 2, etc
@@jaimeruiz7837 @You alright boi ? You guys apparently don't know what the word "murderer" means.
Dude just saw his parents get brutally murdered lol. What do u expect him to do?
@@jaimeruiz7837 ironman hater
oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... wait a minute. idc
Gotta remember Sam and Cap are former military and Natasha a spy so not killing if necessary is not a thing for them.
They won’t kill a surrendered or captured villain who is not a threat, but in the heat of battle it’s fight to kill
The orange slices comment is from it being a known fruit that is common in young athletic activities. Cant tell you the amount of times I had orange slices at practice lol
I still think Winter soldier is the best “ Solo “ MCU movie . But this was a great end to the “solo”Cap films . Great Great movie and Intro to Black Panther was awesome .
Oh yeah the Bourne films were great , they out bonded James Bond lol
Winter Soldier is definitely the best.

There really is only one side. The Counsel can't control what happens if, under UN control, the Avengers are 'sent' to fight an enemy, anymore than if they were one their own. There will be innocent casualties either way.
Facts no matter if they get sent in my the government or go on their own they still out here destroying buildings and shit. Throwing cars. Innocent people would still die either way by the villains and by other damages.
But, as they are, there is literally no mechanism for prosecution or regulation.
Should Wanda be hauled in front of the ICC and have a whole trial just to be acquitted for the marketplace explosion but probably convicted of illegally entering a country and whatever vigilantism laws that that country has?
If Banner tears up Johannesburg or Stark creates an Ultron, do we just... do nothing?
@@Cyrinil142 All true Dan but the basis for wanting regulation (and Tony's guilt) was saving lives. Within the course of all these 'wars' they fought, there was no way any regulation would have mitigated loss of life. When you mix fantasy with real world structure, the poop is going to hit the fan.
@@MoMoMyPup10 Regardless, these heroes should be regulated and supervise. Take MCU's spiderman for example - because of his thoughtless actions so many were injured and most likely died in far from home, and in No way home Dr. Strange decided to erase people's memories which led to so many people getting into crossfire because a hero wasn't able to get into college. Also, no regulation would have mitigated loss of life is true for wars and big fights but smaller conflicts would have been solved. They definitely would not save people in sokovia but they would have definitely saved people injured in No way home.
@@ayeon5609 It's a cute thought, but there's no real reason any appropriately strong superpowered individuals would listen when they don't want to. Tony himself listened once and then just went off to do his own thing anyway. It's the illusion of control.
Crossbones, a guy in a ballistic mask and machine arms, reminds her of Master Chief, a super soldier in a green exosuit from over 100 years ahead of the time this movie is set
Jane is stupid lol. They both are
I am really enjoying watching your reactions to these great movies. Keep up the good work!

5:07 - you did win back points for noticing Gui.
"Do you even remember them?" Pain.
"I remember all of them." DEATH.
The way you guys use lightsabers as lighting for art is really cool. I'm totally stealing that idea.
I've heard that people's biggest gripe with the movie is how Tony was out of character, or a jerk, because he wanted to kill Bucky after he found out. Like to them, it's all "It wasn't his fault, he was brainwashed, Tony shouldn't have done that, blah, blah, blah..." But, here's the thing that sells it for me: Tony just found his parents were both killed, brutally, and we saw, in the beginning, he'd never really come to real terms with their death even before he'd found that out. So, here's the guy who did it, and the guy he's been trusting the most since Avengers, who apparently knew the whole time and never bothered to tell him. The amount of pain he must be feeling from the revelation of both Bucky's past, and the betrayal from Steve for keeping something like that from him, must be immense. And, I think it's all summed up nicely by that moment when Tony says "I don't care, he killed my mom..." If that wasn't enough to convince you, then my friend, you simply don't have a good enough relationship with your mom...

This and "Winter Soldier are my favorite "Marvel movies. Very good video 👏

Growing up my family and their friends would rent out a Transportation Bus (Dial-A-Ride) for a couple hours on Christmas Eve night. There would be about 20 of us on the bus, and the driver would take us around looking at all the lights through the big bus windows. We would drink Hot Chocolate and listen to Christmas Music through the Bus PA. I think it only cost like $100 US, but all the parents would chip in and pay for it together. Just a cool idea you might want to try. Not sure how Canadas public transportation is set up though. I bet the kids would love it! Great Reaction!
For Christmas, someone please send them a 3.5 splitter so they can both enjoy stereo audio when doing reactions. The sharing earbuds setup is too cringe for these wonderful people.
Unless they do that so when they talk they can still hear eachother. Maybe I'm wrong 🤷
@@hayley3756 There are lots of headphones that let you still hear what's going on around you.
@@wcookiv oh okay!
29:00 That's when I knew Sam and Bucky would make for a good "buddy cop" duo.
But just think, if the bomb had gone off at the base by Rogers, it likely would have done more significant damage.
Exactly. Far more people would have been killed if the bomb had gone off in the marketplace. The walls of the building at least absorbed some of the energy of the explosion. And the people in the building wouldn't have been so closely packed together.
Noticed that too, did you? They should have all told Ross to chew glass.
Yeah but I think Ross was being realistic in the grand schemes of things the avengers are a bunch of us based people that goes around and causes huge collateral damage and chaos Loki grudge against Thor created avengers 1 and the new Mexico incident all of Ironman villains had a grudge against Tony Ultron was Bruce Tony and Wanda fault
@@sparknazo Thor is not US-based. The Avengers greatly reduced the amount of collateral damage. And Ross an idiot, as usual. He was the primary cause of all the collateral damage - including civilian casualties, in the Hulk movie, and including a military invasion of Brazil. Ross should be dishonorably discharged and thrown in prison.
But the avengers shouldn't get to decide who lives or dies
It has the avengers in it but it mainly concerns captain America
I like how you brought up cultural empowerment Jane. I understand that you are not from the culture, but acknowledging that was great. the shaved heads however, was the least. For many it was the predominately black cast, the black female warriors etc. Still happy you acknowledged it.
Notice how Marvel movies do action scenes flawlessly and in daylight. DC does theirs in the dark to cover up their inability to do what Marvel does.
What are you talking about? What kind of brain dead thinking is that?
Was that “Civil War” book in the background always there or cowinkiedink for the video?
I’ve always found it weird that people think it’s weird for Cap to have a thing with Sharon, yes he loved Peggy, but they were never actually together and events caused Peggy to move on and have a family.(Atleast in the mcu)
Its weird bruh he literally went back to Peggy and had a family
@@Durag__bandit98 that doesn’t change anything. He went back AFTER the fact. He never pursued a relationship with Sharon.. y’all talk like Sharon is his daughter or something.
@@Durag__bandit98 The family she had was with Steve though. Time travel is a paradox. That's why they never showed her husband because it was Steve all along
Looking back it, it was weird because he and Peggy were star crossed lovers. In the comics it wasn't that weird because Steve and Peggy weren't emphasized as much as they were in the comics.
@@BlueSkullX It was intended that Steve would be the father, but there was no confirmation. It’s highly unlikely that both Steve and Peggy had an affair since Steve Rodgers story starts at 1943 and the supposed death of Bucky and Steve crashing happened in February 1945. Also, if you watched Agent Carter that Peggy which takes place a year after she doesn’t even look pregnant and not only that the series doesn’t even introduce her children.
Time is indeed a paradox, but Steve fighting with his past self never happened. If it did then Steve would’ve remembered that Bucky was still alive as his future self said. Remember what the Grand Master said if you change time it will create a whole new one. So that means Steve married Peggy in another reality and most likely used a Pym Particle to travel back to the main reality to hand off the shield. You remember in the Flash when Barry accidentally ran back in time when he tried to stop that tsunami? Yeah, his friends memory in the past timeline transferred to his friends in the newly created timeline and that’s how they were able to defeat Reverse-Flash. I know that’s in a universe, but still similar and relevant to how time works in the MCU.
OMG that mid-show Patreon ad made me laugh out loud. Subbed.
bucky wasnt shocked by spider-mans strength it was in that moment he realized he was fighting a kid
Happy Holidays to you and the girls
if the avengers hadn't been there more people would have died than did... I don't think global governance is equipped to judge the Avengers... especially as they have jumped to the wrong conclusion in this case.
Check out the movie US Marshals, it has a young RDJ to compare de-aging cgi.
I think to better understand the Sokovia Accords, replace the Avengers with corporations, and then think about how you feel about them getting public-sector oversight.
"These accords just shift the blame" is what really had me understanding Cap's side though.
But it's also interesting, because prior to The Winter Soldier and Ultron, Cap would have easily been on the side of the Accords while Tony would fight tooth and nail against them. So it's a crazy amount of counter-acting character growth.
I laughed out loud at "bird costume" with you
It wasn’t shown in this video but the whole mentality underlying the Accords can be inferred from Ross’ misplaced nukes analogy. The face of warfare was forever changed with the development and use of the atomic bomb, like the advent of gunpowder before it. Whether the Avengers like it or not, they are nukes with their own agenda, operating autonomously around the world answering to no one but themselves. How surprising is it that people try to level the playing field? That’s what the arms race and Cold War were all about when guns and nukes came along.
Humanity’s actions are driven by emotion and perception. So, the Sokovia Accords are a means of controlling perception of the Avengers to portray an image of a group that functions like governments the world is familiar with.
Didn’t Ross declare Bruce Banner a fugitive from the U.S. Military and wanted to weaponize the Hulk?
You guys should do the original, black and white "Manchurian Candidate." Class sic.
I am team Iron Man! Forever! But more for the end of the movie! (for the accords I think they were both right and wrong) My god Tony was right! Steve should have told him the truth! He was just thinking about Bucky and that made me mad! At the end I agree he didn’t deserve the shield, his father made it! It’s just normal at that moment that Tony didn’t want him to have it! We already know that Tony isn’t perfect he is human but Steve is not either! Seriously, I think that this movie is the worst for Tony with Pepper, the accords and his parents… that was a lot! But that’s my opinion! Iron Man is the best! ❤️❤️❤️
Humans always justify what they like or what they think is right. What you said is completely the truth but it is also only one part of the story. Me as an individual is on Cap's side (He is my fav character). But i agree both did their fair share of mistakes.
Steve's Secret... Remember Steve kept this from Tony... Which is why he wasn't able to lift Mjolnir in Age of Ultron.
8:40 Didn’t Ross declare Bruce Banner a fugitive from the U.S. Military and wanted to weaponize the Hulk?

Mark 1:54. Howdy! What a lot of people didn't get, back in the day, was that the movie title is a clue as to whose side we should choose. Politics being what they are, people chose both sides anyway, not just his. But later on, it would seem that had, Ultron, not been a fiasco, Tony, was right. So there you have it. Writers versus writers! Who wins?! 🤔🧐
"Not a fan of winter activities..."

But then again I am not a fan of hot weather, yet I live in Florida where it is like 96F/36C 5 months of the year.

*Niece, not neace. 😁
Mark 3:25. Hmm. Well, this brand of characters, aren't of the variety seen in, "Kick-Ass", for example. This group has "SHIELD" support, and they are not a local police agency subject to whether or not a shooting is justified or not. They are a paramilitary espionage agency. So of course, lethal force is a given, save for collateral damage, as per the plot of the movie. Just like with any actual armed military service force, death is part of the concept. This isn't an animated cartoon series meant for children, where damage only occurs if the story requires it. 🧐
3:18 There's GUI!!

7:05 yes that's exactly how he looked when he was young, if you don't believe me watch the movie Weird Science
At the time Steve kissed Sharon Carter, Peggy was not Steve's romantic girlfriend.
Plus Peggy was dead
True, but she had JUST died, he was still mourning her (as well as the missed time with her), so the kiss with Sharon comes across as a hollow gesture of consolation.
The way i understand the accords is that it would give the government control and regulation of super-powered individuals and their activities, like the hero license in my hero academia--they cannot use their quirks while performing heroic duties against bad guys lest they get legally punished later--they could choose to use their powers and save people but they will get in trouble and their hero license revoked if it was not mandated or ordered by the authorities. What I'm confused about is how could this lessen the human casualty? if government permitted them to stop ultron in sokovia, would less people have died? if they were held accountable due to the accords for the casualties and put in jail, can government still let them out whenever and still send them to missions where their abilities could be useful? so it's like if they have super powers, they don't have the freedom to choose when to use them because they can only be used on government-sanctioned missions and if they get casualties however accidental, they will be held accountable and punished but they can still be forced to work whenever useful? government-owned or not, it seems people will still get killed as casualties either way so i don't understand why guilt-trip the heroes with the casualties of their actions to stop big villains as if they didn't risk their own lives and as if no one would have died at all if only they were working for the government as public servants.
Have you seen the Bourne movies? If not, you should react to them.

Would such an agency be able to accomplish in this situation? Asking out of curiousity
The only reason Tony was so for the accords was because he felt guilty for killing the kid. Which again is his fault. Tony definitely would be against it, he’s very hypocritical. Also Tony saying “so was I” about being his friend is bs😂 they were work buddies at most

One of the most underrated things about the MCU is character development, especially with Tony. Advocating for oversight is a million miles from Iron Man 2008, but makes perfect sense within the character's experiences and evolution across all these films.
Oversight for himself? Sure, he's the cause of most of both his own & the Avenger's villains. Everyone else? Not so much.

So much good stuff in this movie.
I am specially glad the way they portrayed Tchalla in that scene with Zemo.
Perfection.
the Movie as a whole is really great in my opinion, and as i said, its also one of my favorite Movies in the Entire MCU, but to be fair...I really think the 3rd Act of the Movie is where this Movie truly shines.
For Example the Airport fight, im not saying its bad or anything but it isnt really special at all, like all the characters in the scene just fight bc they have to or else there would be no movie.
clearly Black Panther has more depth but apart from that you cant really take that fight seriously, there are plenty of Jokes now and then, by ppl like Antman or Spiderman, which makes the whole fight just soo tame and superficial.
While in the other hand we have the final Fight between Tony, Steve and Barnes.
Unlike the Airport fight, this one feels brutal and real, and that is mainly because of the anguish behind it. In this fight Tony actually tries to kill Barnes for what he did, you can feel every punch, and there are literally no jokes during the fight. Plus it works perfectly with Tony's character cause he is someone who lets his emotions control him. And the lines are just Magic, everything, the soundtrack, the visuals and even the tone feels almost perfect in the 3rd act, just right after Rhodes has de incident, we can feel that change, and its just Masterfully executed.
Definitely in my top 5 MCU films and specially bc of the Direction of Anthony Russo, without him, i dont think anything i mentioned would have possible in this film. Hopefully he and his Brother are able to direct a Marvel film again, they know just how to peak Marvel Formula
You should watch Less Than Zero to see RDJ in his early days.

Cracks me up. He approves of the Accords, but not the politics. Because it’s easier for a few people to get things done. And wants to put the Avengers under the same restrictions he hates.
I hate the Accords and the way they’re “enforced.” They might as well bill it the Anti-Avengers initiative because it’s meant to affect NO ONE else. And doesn’t. Not T’Challa (who acts with impunity in S. Korea soon after) or Spider-Man. Or Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders. Is Doc Strange registered? No?
Tony illegally smuggled a teenage superhuman into and out of Germany in violation of the very Accords he allegedly went there to enforce.
None of it makes any damn sense.
Yo I never even thought about that LOL Spider-Man literally splits the Staten Island ferry in half and burns down Coney Island and no one bats an eye. And then iron man doesn’t have any hesitations or restrictions about going to fix those situation. The accords affect no one outside of this immediate group that didn’t sign it when asked.
