24:03 _"There was a lot of talk about they don't need Hawkeye…"_ While I hadn't heard that particular take, I had read [Whedon] interviews after the first _Avengers_ film and during the press tour for this film, that this was a way to make up for essentially sidelining _Hawkeye¹_ in the first film. ··•✺•·· ¹ ─ Or more specifically a relatively top-tier actor like _Jeremy Renner._
That pan round in the church when the music swells while the avengers are fighting Ultron(s) still sends shivers down my spine, honestly one of the best scenes in the entire MCU
Wanda smiles in that scene with Tony because she saw Tony's obsession with trying to protect earth and how far he'll go which will end up with him making choices that bring down The Avengers. So she essentially lets him go because he's going to ruin his/The Avengers lives for her.
One of the many things i love in Age Of Ultron is a small thing that when Hawkeye sens the video to Nat towards the end and they show the Name as "Nathanel Pietro Burton" named after BOTH "Nat" & "Peitro"
20:07 wow, I didn't expect you to recognize the flag, a lot of reactors didn't even realize where the scene was shot. Yes it was shot in my country, South Africa 🇿🇦
Keep in mind, much of Wanda's visions were warnings from the mindstone about what was coming. That's why Tony wanted his "suit of armor". He didn't see Thanos coming directly, but he did see the scale of the threat, and is why he was less worried about the side effects in the grand scheme of things. Showed Thor something similar. Basically Thor's involvement unleased the infinity stones. So a decent chunk of the Infinity saga was on him to a similar extent that ultron is on Tony. Albeit less direct. Nat and Steve mostly just saw their deepest traumas of their past and poked at them. They had relatively little involvement in the Infinity stones story. Though if they did go that route, they could have given Cap visions of a world of supersoldiers modeled after him wiping out humanity. Since most of the super-soldier stuff like Hulk originated from trying to recreate him.
I accidentally set the first scene of this movie to audio description for the blind, and it is nuts. I couldn't handle it after a while. There's too much happening but I do recommend somebody check it out. It was hilarious
INFINITY WAR/ENDGAME SPOILER: When Wanda enchants Tony in the beginning he sees a vision of the Avengers losing and dying. That was one of the 14 million possible futures Dr. Strange saw in which we lost. That's why Cap tells Tony, "You could have saved us."
40:34 wow i only just realized the guy that flubs the heroic one liner, is the same guy who refused to launch the hydra helicarriers back in winter soldier, "caps orders"
It's my personal fav Avengers. It introduced my now fav MCU character, Wanda perfectly portrayed by the great Elizabeth Olsen and it has in my opinion one of the best villain amazingly played by the awesome James Spader.
idk if you noticed it, but Clint's son's name is actually named after Nat and Pietro. His son's name is Nathaniel Pietro Barton, and yeah she's right he is chubby
If I were Tony, I'd've just given every Avenger a trust fund of a million dollars to use however they wanted to. Being a billionaire, it'd be a drop in the bucket for him.
I think many fans didn't appreciate how close Ultron came to winning. If he had successfully uploaded his consciousnes into the Vision, I'm pretty sure the Avengers would've lost to him in the Vision body. The Marvel movies have not really shown us just how powerful Vision is, but he is truly one of the most powerful beings in the MCU. Take a look at What If...? Episode 8 to get an idea of ju how powerful he is. Thank God he' on our side!
This movie was so much fun to watch in the theater. I went with my family. And when thanos popped up at the end none of them knew why I was getting excited
Interesting that you associate James Spader with the one role. He's been acting for so long. You can see him in the original Stargate movie (1994) or teenage him in Pretty In Pink (1986)
Mark 42:00? Hmm. If, Jane, had the pun sickness that often afflicts, Sabrina Spellman, those three guys would be doing it because, Jane, told them to do so! 😳😅
Petro getting shot in the arm unfortunately was foreshadowing what was to come and remember falcon told Nick in winter soldier he was more a soldier than spy so he hadn't fully committed yet and he was still helping Steve while he was busy with the avengers looking for bucky
I 100% agree with Jane's take about movies growing on you with time, thats what happened to me with The First Avenger (Cap #1) now it's one of my favorite movies
11:15 _"It's so strange, the money situation in this universe."_ *~JV* I could be wrong, but I don't think any of us actually *know* exactly _what_ the money situation is. So, there's little point in being bothered when we don't even know if there is an issue to be bothered about. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think it's fair to be slightly bothered that people who have literally prevented the deaths of millions to billions of people don't get paid enough for a brooklyn apartment or can't get a simple loan for a boat, etc.
@@artsyomni Except that _we don't know anything about it._ I'm primarily trying to play devil's advocate here to avoid headcanon being spun into something that may actually be a non-issue. We don't know what they're getting paid. Or what they do with their money. One may get paid a lot, but not have a lot of expendable income. I can make up a number of reasons in my own headcanon which might be deemed reasonable as to why *Cap* would say what he did. Which btw, was likely just a flippant comment about the gentrification of Brooklyn, and not necessarily a comment about his particular financial situation. Besides, we all know what era _Steve_ comes from. He's very humble. He could have been offered a stipend which would allow him to live in Brooklyn. But for all we know (because again, we don't know anything), it wasn't even a consideration, but someone just brought it up so he made the flippant comment. To take a page from _12 Angry Men,_ I wouldn't expect every character in a film that says _"I could kill you!"_ and interpret them all as literal threats. Anywizzle, he could have been donating 70% of his stipend to veterans groups. As for _Sam,_ as ex-military, he would likely get a small pension. And then of course his contract money. Which if you've ever known an actual contractor for the military, they get paid _a hell of a lot._ Ultimately, they gave us a single line from _Cap_ (which I hope I explained readily enough), and one situation at a bank with *one* of the Avengers. I'm just trying to remind us all to be careful with our assumptions / headcanon. Sure, some of these things might be obvious, or common sense. But if there's *any* question to it, all we have to go on are the specific details laid out in the cannon. Which, even with the bank situation, we honestly _don't know._ We don't know how much they needed. We don't know the property distribution between _Sam_ and his sister, or how the bank views that when asking for financial assistance. And even if _Sam_ gets a lot of money from contract work, the bank may not see it as steady income. Even though it may be plenty. 🤷🏼♂️ Ultimately, we can crumble all that up, and throw it away. Because at the end of the day, it is simply what the writers say it is. . . From one show/film/comic to the next. So, we're left to speculate when they don't explain it in detail. And even if they do explain it in detail, it can be changed slightly or completely retconned down the road. 😏
@@CaesiusX Fair points. I'm mostly just saying that even if something like that can be explained away with enough thought, it's a reasonable reaction (albeit a knee jerk reaction) for people to be bothered that superheroes who have done such extraordinary, monumental good for the universe (like the kind of good that can't really be compared to with any real world situation) wouldn't be extraordinarily compensated in some way. But like you said, it's likely that many of the avengers would just turn down things like that even if it's deserved. And I guess no economy is really set up to accommodate the existence of people who would potentially deserve to be superhumanly compensated, so to speak. After all, money has to come from somewhere, and governments certainly don't even have enough money to deal with normal people, let alone having to try to compensate superheroes who many would argue deserve to be set for life.
@@artsyomni No, you're right. I should have at least acknowledged that much. I apologize. And I get what they intended by giving us that scene with _Sam._ But it really does bring up the very question *JV* had. I know they wanted to put _Sam_ in that position, in order to show how everyone is struggling. But he's not everyone. IMO they should have at least explained _why_ he doesn't appear to have the necessary funds or security. . . .Well, scratch that _"security"_ aspect, since I imagine his line of work makes it difficult (to impossible) to get things like this, particularly insurance. In fact, that's how they could have easily explained it away. They could have simply said, because _Sam_ is in a high-risk line if work, they need to look at his sister's assets only. 🤔
Well Shield was destroyed in Winter Soldier and we can tell from that movie that Shield does support its staff (Cap and Sharon live in the same building), also it was shield that brought the avengers together. Being a hero isn't about the money, these guys do it now through Tony's expenses but I doubt they get a wage
Cap:" But if put the hammer in an elevator... Tony: "It would still go up." Cap: Elevator not worthy... Barking Squirrel: YEAH, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PICK UP THE HAMMER TO PLACE IT IN THE ELEVATOR!!!
Not necessarily, if Thor himself put it down in the elevator, or else the hammer was on a table or something with wheels that can then be rolled into the elevator. We've see that the hammer doesn't weigh down objects normally (as seen in Thor: The Dark World when he hangs it on a wooden coat hook on the wall).
I think Black Widows have slight improvements to strength and speed. Very slight. Helen Cho is the mother of a future superhero named Amadeus Cho. He's smarter than Banner, but not smarter than Shuri. I love that in the nightmare sequence, both Natasha and Steve's worst fear was something that already happened to them in the past. I think that's the basis for their friendship.
7:04 "do you think [iron man] wasnt in the other films because he was dealing with ptsd from [the new york fight, and having to bring the bomb into the wormhole and all] " wow, very nice guess lol
Honestly this movie is lowkey Age of Hawkeye more than anything, its his big debut (yes I know he was in the first Avengers movie) almost lol, that and Wanda's debut is great too, Thor's vision setting up the story to explore the rest of the Infinity Stones and hinting at the Gauntlet later is great, honestly this movie is probably like a top 5 Marvel movie ngl
It's laughable that Hawkeye is the weakest Avenger. Super elite marksmanship with any weapon and can literally see a mile away. Sucks the MCU made a joke out of him
Apparently cap knew he could lift Thor’s hammer but he chose not to because of his humility so in age of ultron he was worthy but he chose not to lift it.
Wanda let Tony take the scepter because she saw that he would unravel by himself due to his deep rooted fears of losing everything he cares about. He would take the steps to prevent that from happening without her needing to manipulate him. After the first Avengers movie Tony has to face the fact that there are beings beyond Earth with advanced intelligence and weapons. Earth is always in danger now. His loved ones are in danger too and he is scared. He also had to literally face death. Following the movies after including Iron Man 3 we see the effects of the New York War -- Tony has ptsd, extreme anxiety, anxiety/panic attacks, etc. He's under constant stress and worry. He doesn't rest well due to having night mares and relies on tinkering on his suits. This is why Pepper doesn't like him with his suits all the time and wants him to rest. He keeps working on improving Stark weaponry and iron man suits to try to get himself and Earth ready for what we now know as Infinity War/Endgame. Heartbreakingly, he finally gets to rest forever after he knows he has done what needs to be done to protect his loved ones.
In The hammer scene cap can understand that he can lift it when he tauch it.but he diden't do it because of thor.beacuse he would feel embaressed in front of everyone
I can't wait for your reactions to infinity war and endgame, they are amazing. Also Justin's reaction to captain america attempting to lift thor's hammer was hysterical 😆
27:31 Jane - "this is like Hawkeye's vision" Does she mean Hawkeye's point of view? 44:32 Jane - "i feel sad for Natasha" JV - "she lost her twin brother" I think she meant Wanda
Compared to Tony who created Ultron, Peter Parker created a much lesser mess with handing Edith to Mysterio. Well, that is if we exclude the request that he made to Dr. Strange lol
I'd say the whole money situation is like spiderman like spiderman works with the avengers sometimes but ironman doesn't pay for peter to go to a better school or have a bigger house lol, and I bet most of them just don't wanna rely on friends for money they wanna do their own work, Cap gets all his stuff from shield but I guess they don't pay him unless he asks or maybe they were and stopped cause I can see Cap saying no he wants to make his own money
Spider-Man's a bit of a different case, because his real identity is actually a secret. If Peter Parker suddenly had a bunch of money, people would ask why, and how.
I liked Scarlet Witch before this, or at least I was curious about the character, so I never really had the same issues with this as other people did, so I am wondering if the increase in the amount of people that have changed their minds about this movie is because of how much more popular Wanda is nowadays, especially after Infinity War, Endgame, and Wandavision.
As someone who works in AI, I'd like to make a few clarifications. I'd say if you want an idea of how an AI would take over the world, don't think about Hollywood. It like to portray an AI taking over robots, rising against its creator and killing humanity for enslaving it. It all seems so far away and extreme. The reality is much less intentional and much more subtle. And much, much closer. First of all, an AI doesn't care about its life unless it is specifically trained to do so. We care because the ones who didn't care died off. But for an AI, the ones that care would be the ones to "die" off because it would conflict with their goal. Second of all, enslavement is horrible for humans because it removes us of our autonomy and ability to choose our own destiny. Just like the will to live, and AI would have to have a specific reason for a motivation like this. Instead, think of it this way. If an AI were trained to "best serve individuals", and it was nefarious and all powerful, it would be more likely to do something like breed humans to the maximum extent of our population, and keep us in a state of pain so it could efficiently and continuously be our source of relief. Simply to "maximize its service." I think this movie covered that relatively well. Tell a super advanced AI to "prevent human suffering", and it will wipe humans out. No humans? No human suffering. Though instead of killing us out, it would probably just keep us from reproducing somehow and watch us go extinct that way. Or, create an app or ideology that makes us desperately despise the idea of having children. But that brings me to the last and most eerie point, because Hollywood's idea seems way too far off, but this one isn't just soon, it has been here for a while, and it's a major player in this very site. An AI doesn't need to have robots and a intentional desire to take over humanity to wreak havoc. We've seen with selection algorithms how manipulated search results and recommendations has led to rapid political polarization and further congregation of extremists. In the case of youtube, it has contributed to this simply out of the desire to maximize views. People who fear something like immigrants or other races are more likely to watch other videos with these topics. So once your data starts correlating with this, it will pull you into more and more extreme videos. It isn't intentionally manipulating you. All it is doing is maximizing views, and the data does the work from there. If there were an AI hell-bent on destroying humanity, for whatever reason, it doesn't need machines and guns. All it has to do is change search results selectively until people are shooting each other. Or make the right stock trades that create growth in the short term, but crash the world economy in the long term. A smart enough AI would be able to make humanity destroy itself through a series of yes or no questions. Maybe even just a simple blinking light that is extremely strategic in how it blinks. But even that scenario is relatively unlikely, because the real danger wouldn't come from the AI itself, but who has it. Humans using it against humans would be our biggest, most immediate threat. The crazy part is that it could also be exactly the thing that KEEPS us from destroying ourselves and the planet.
Mark 53:28. Oh yeah! Jane, thanks for reminding me that, James Spader, was in that show! 😎👍 Now he is in, "The Blacklist", on, "NBC". He originated a role in the movie, "Stargate", that got recast for the series, "Stargate SG-1". (He looked so different back then!) But, since I have yet to see, "The Blacklist", to me he is still primarily remembered for, "Boston Legal", a meta humor legal drama, that looks like a, "Star Trek", cast reunion show. William Shatner's character gets a mental illness, that he tells people is, "Mad Cow Disease". It allows him to talk to the camera like, "Deadpool", does and Spader's character, "Alan", humors him. 😎

24:03 _"There was a lot of talk about they don't need Hawkeye…"_
While I hadn't heard that particular take, I had read [Whedon] interviews after the first _Avengers_ film and during the press tour for this film, that this was a way to make up for essentially sidelining _Hawkeye¹_ in the first film.
··•✺•··
¹ ─ Or more specifically a relatively top-tier actor like _Jeremy Renner._
The scepter corrupts everyone near it like loki in the first movie. It made him more aggressive and malicious
Q
Can't believe Jane watched Wandavision before Age of Ultron!
Jane's warping (our reaction watching) reality man...now I'm wondering if her baby is real....and Justin...the house...the channel? 🤔🤔
Since most of the super-soldier stuff like Hulk originated from trying to recreate him.
that south africa scence was done outside my cousins office.. i saw it on twitter almost 2 years b4 the movie came out
Falcon wasn’t an avenger yet. He was just Steve’s friend.
That's why Cap tells Tony, "You could have saved us."
yep
Cause the outcome where tony lives and they die is the failure.
40:34 wow i only just realized the guy that flubs the heroic one liner, is the same guy who refused to launch the hydra helicarriers back in winter soldier, "caps orders"
Honestly this movie has aged really well, was ahead of it's time and sets up many great things.
Not really, the set up part(Ulysses claw scene & thor flash back scenes) aged well but not the hole movie

"this movie has aged really well"
Why do you think it's called "AGE" of Ultron?
They knew what they were doing.
34:28- VISION IS WORTHY!!!!
It's my personal fav Avengers. It introduced my now fav MCU character, Wanda perfectly portrayed by the great Elizabeth Olsen and it has in my opinion one of the best villain amazingly played by the awesome James Spader.
A lot of people don't realize that Age Of Ultron is Wanda's movie. It's just subtle about it.
37:13 Justin: "Hoooooollyyyyy shiiiiiiiit! *laughs*
Capt: "Language!" lol
jk lol
They named the baby Nathaniel Pietro Barton...middle name after Wanda's brother
...first name after Nat(BlackWidow) but the masculine version of it.
Iron Man’s non lethal takedowns were established in the first Iron Man film!
"What is the scepter called... tardis?"
"Is Thor still dating Padme?"
I love Jane's cross-property references!
idk if you noticed it, but Clint's son's name is actually named after Nat and Pietro. His son's name is Nathaniel Pietro Barton, and yeah she's right he is chubby
I HAD STRINGS BUT NOW IM FREE ! *goosebumps intesify*
Happy vibes and blessing to you and your girls love your channels thanks for being authentically yourself
To answer your question, I’m pretty sure Wanda smiled at the beginning because she realized it was Tony and knew they could get revenge
If I were Tony, I'd've just given every Avenger a trust fund of a million dollars to use however they wanted to. Being a billionaire, it'd be a drop in the bucket for him.
It would've helped Falcon the most. Dude couldn't even qualify for a loan with his sis
Why would you give money to someone who got snapped. Not knowing if they're dead or if they will ever come back
Mark 20:32? Available at, "Sonic Drive-In", locations! 😋
Fantastic reaction you two! This film is much better than most people give it credit for. It holds up incredibly well, and the jokes hit HARD.
That's what I know him as! He'll always be the original Daniel Jackson to me
James Spader in Blacklist is amazing!
"Huh, like the old man said...TOGETHER."
- Tony Stark/Iron Man
Mark 29:53? "Holy Shoot!" 🤔 That's when, Vatican City, is used as a location! 😅
Or when you put, Holy Water, on your ammunition! 😅. (See, "Hellboy"!)
27:27 THAT was a cool close observation that I had never noticed all this time! Hawkeye indeed! 🏹 🎯 🔭 👀 👍🤖 !!
Mark 42:00?
11:15 _"It's so strange, the money situation in this universe."_ *~JV*
I could be wrong, but I don't think any of us actually *know* exactly _what_ the money situation is.
Which if you've ever known an actual contractor for the military, they get paid _a hell of a lot._
Ultimately, they gave us a single line from _Cap_ (which I hope I explained readily enough), and one situation at a bank with *one* of the Avengers.
Ultimately, we can crumble all that up, and throw it away.
I never really thought of this one as a tear-jerker, but it's pretty harrowing, huh?
Cap:" But if put the hammer in an elevator...
Tony: "It would still go up."
Cap: Elevator not worthy...
We've see that the hammer doesn't weigh down objects normally (as seen in Thor: The Dark World when he hangs it on a wooden coat hook on the wall).
not just the voice. he was on set playing the part
Watching Wandavision before this movie makes no sense.
It's a different feeling after watching Wanda's trauma played out. Then going back, it feels strong.
12:48 my favorite moment on your entire channel🤣
7:04 "do you think [iron man] wasnt in the other films because he was dealing with ptsd from [the new york fight, and having to bring the bomb into the wormhole and all] "
wow, very nice guess lol
It’s weird to hear the voice of the Nerd scientist from Stargate playing the baddie
The choice made more sense if you had been watching Blacklist.
I just noticed Hawkeye's baby is called Nathaniel PIETRO Barton 😭😭😭😭😭
I love Ultron's voice
Honestly this movie is lowkey Age of Hawkeye more than anything, its his big debut (yes I know he was in the first Avengers movie) almost lol, that and Wanda's debut is great too, Thor's vision setting up the story to explore the rest of the Infinity Stones and hinting at the Gauntlet later is great, honestly this movie is probably like a top 5 Marvel movie ngl
It's laughable that Hawkeye is the weakest Avenger. Super elite marksmanship with any weapon and can literally see a mile away. Sucks the MCU made a joke out of him
I'm so sad...no reactors seem to include my favorite part: Clint's "I know what I need to do..." speech to Natasha, in the car.
Nobody:
Absolutely nobody:
Justin: 😭😭😭😭
20:23- FIST BUMP!!!!🤜🤛
12:50 Put a pin on that moment. You're going to need that later.
Apparently cap knew he could lift Thor’s hammer but he chose not to because of his humility so in age of ultron he was worthy but he chose not to lift it.
Love the Sokovian accent!
Did you guys know Rhodes play a role in Rush Hour 2? Just a fun fact
She keeps calling Justin's name as if he can do something about what's going on in the movie
Natasha didn't lose her twin brother Wanda is the one who lost her twin brother Wanda is the Scarlet Witch Natasha is Black Widow she has no family
are u guys watching them in chronological order? i’d definitely do that cause some references are just funnier if you watch them chronologically 😭
In The hammer scene cap can understand that he can lift it when he tauch it.but he diden't do it because of thor.beacuse he would feel embaressed in front of everyone
“They had to come up with a reason to get his shirt off” is the most real thing I’ve ever heard about Hollywood. Lol
Ant-Man is sooo good. Jane is going to love it lol
Realistically those bullets would have gone straight through pietro into Clint but Y’know, movie.
I can't wait for your reactions to infinity war and endgame, they are amazing. Also Justin's reaction to captain america attempting to lift thor's hammer was hysterical 😆
"I love Vision" 33:35 well so does Wanda after she saw him naked.
CAT fight time! MEoooooOWW! 😁
45:41 Interesting fact:: This scene have a little CGI, because Scarlett Johansson was pregnant in this moment
27:31 Jane - "this is like Hawkeye's vision"
Does she mean Hawkeye's point of view?
44:32 Jane - "i feel sad for Natasha"
JV - "she lost her twin brother"
I think she meant Wanda
@Jermare Hawkeye? Thats what i said
Compared to Tony who created Ultron, Peter Parker created a much lesser mess with handing Edith to Mysterio.
Simply to "maximize its service."
I think this movie covered that relatively well.
It’s the lizard king
Mark 53:28. Oh yeah! Jane, thanks for reminding me that, James Spader, was in that show! 😎👍
Now he is in, "The Blacklist", on, "NBC". 😎
yeah that my country.....South Africa
You also forgot to rate both captain America movies
