      Also Tobey lost a parental figure, while Andrew lost a once in a multiverse soul-mate(and right after they had the beautiful 'we'll make it work no matter what' moment too). Both hurt, but I feel like Andrew's is the kind of loss that you can never truly get over. Even in the comics, the effects of Gwen's loss cause a riff between Peter and MJ, because she feels almost jealous that Peter still loves her even when married to MJ many years later. Truly one of the most tragic moments in all of storytelling.

Green Goblin found out about Tobey Peter in the thanksgiving dinner in Spider Man 1. Sandman found out Peter true identity after their final showdown between Spider Man and Venom in Spider Man 3. The Lizard found out about Peter identity because Andrew Peter wrote his name on his security cameras in the sewer. So Norman got sent back to the moment where he’s planning to torture aunt May in Tobey universe. Sandman got sent back to where he found out about Tobey Peter before their forgiveness conversation. The reason he doesn’t tell MJ who he is is because he notices her wound, and he realizes that he’s the reason that she was in danger. To me that scene is him finally understanding the biggest lesson that his Spider-Man had yet to learn, which is that great responsibility is also the responsibility to keep your loved ones safe, even sometimes at your own personal cost. His failure to understand that early on is what caused him to mess with the spell because he thought he could still have it both ways. This was the movie where Tom Holland finally became Spider-MAN

      Personally, I'd say that Doctor Strange's irresponibility in giving out a multiverse shattering spell to Peter without taking the time to explain how it works and the ramifications, is the real cause behind that. But Peter did put his loved ones in danger by trying to do the right thing and saving all the bad guys.

    • @Tim_E21
      @Tim_E21 Год назад +10

      @@vianneyb.8776 I agree that Strange should have explained it better. And I actually don’t think Peter doing the right thing and saving the villains is worth focusing on as the reason they were in danger because A) like you said it was the right thing, and B) as long as they know him they are going to want to help, and therefore will ALWAYS be in danger. That’s a constant thread throughout Spider-Man’s history, look no further than Gwen in TASM 2. So I think even though Strange should have explained it better, Peter’s initial desire to do something selfless and get them out of the pain they were experiencing because they knew him was the right basic instinct, and it was that pure intention that made Strange want to do the spell for him. But then he tried to tweak it to still have everything the way he wanted.
      His mistake was thinking that Mysterio revealing his identity was the reason for their pain and that everything was fine before that, but in reality it was really himself who had already put them in harms way, both physically and emotionally. And I think by the end of the movie that’s what he finally realizes

They're all MCU canon now instead being separate movies totally detached from everything else. They all happened, they all mattered, and they ultimately play a crucial role in the development of Tom Holland's Spider-Man while bringing some much-needed closure to their own stories.

    A really subtle touch to the movie that contributed to Peter's decision at the end that I don't think a lot of people notice: when he first asks MJ about her head wound, she says it doesn't hurt. When he asks later, after she forgot him, she says it doesn't hurt ANYMORE. It DID hurt, but she didn't tell him, to spare his feelings. In that moment, he realizes that a lot of their time together probably hurt her, but she'd never say it out loud. So he figures maybe they're better off not knowing him after all. I am a Tobey Spider-man fan. Think he is the best one, but this is the best overall Spider-Man movie and one of my all time favorite movies ever. It was so perfectly coordinated and seeing all them together was absolutely amazing. I love how they included the bit about Tobey's webs being natural and how they all had their own take on being Spider-man. I loved how they included all the Tobey being old stuff with his back and that. And one of the all time greatest movie moments when Andrew saved MJ when he couldnt save Gwen and getting his closure was just pure movie magic.

    Andrew Garfield was my favorite Spider-Man. Seeing him got me excited and hearing him talk about how he lost Gwen made me start crying and my Wife looked at me and asked "Are your crying?! Why are you crying?" Then she asked that again when Andrew saved MJ when I broke down again. After all that, she told me she hasn't seen Andrew's Spider-Man movies. So, I made her watch them and she was bawling at the end of TASM 2. All I could do is look at her with tears in my own eyes and asked "Why the hell are you crying?!" Lol😂. She told me to shut up and she now understands why I was crying. Lol

    Finally! 😊 One of my absolute favorite reactors watched what is quite possibly my favorite movie of all time. Amazing Spider-Man was the first comic book I ever bought as a kid, and he has always been my favorite superhero. This movie was everything for me!! Way, way too many awesome and touching moments to mention, but one of the best things was the three Spider-Men interacting. Tobey will always be my Spider-Man, but Tom has almost perfectly captured the essence of Spidey, and Andrew absolutely shined in this movie. The little moment with Tobey and Otto reconnecting, with the classic music playing, was simply perfect.
    Addie, you asked why so many things in this movie were making you cry. (Like it was for me and SO many others.) Simple: this movie was done RIGHT. The great shout-outs to the past were integral to the story, not just fan service. I love this movie, and I love your reactions!!

    This is the first time I noticed that Peter is looking at the window *before* the brick comes through it. Daredevil reacts, but Peter had his tingle before. Cool.
    My favorite part:
    DOC OCK: You think your fancy new suit is going to save you?
    *TWO MINUTES LATER*
    The suit pairs with Ock's arms and saves Peter. And since that's Stark technology, it's like Tony saving Peter from beyond the grave. "Even Dead, I'm The Hero". Awww.

    And yes, it was completely Sony's intention to make this movie an Infinity War/Endgame level event. They saw how hugely successful Marvel Studios was at bringing all of their characters together and wanted to duplicate that kind of big crossover movie with their current and past Spider-Man characters. But a big part of why it worked so well was due to the groundwork laid out by the MCU with the Multiverse concept with the Loki and What If shows. And believe me, this won't be the last we see of the Multiverse.

    Doctor Strange can't grab the box even when Peter is separated from his body due to "the Peter Tingle". Spidey Sense is built into his body, so its able to dodge his attempts to grab it. You can even see wavy lines around astral Peter's head, which is how the sense was always displayed in the comics.

  • @DerekHise
    @DerekHise Год назад

    19:35, He was able to keep the box away from Dr. Strange while in his astral form, because his muscles were acting on autopilot. Do you recall how how Dr. Strange was able to read books in astral form, while Strange's physical body could sleep and continue unconscious tasks (like breathing)?
    Spider-Man's crazy quick reaction times and counters have been explained in other media as instinctual movements heightened by his "spider sense". Muscle memory might be the closest analogy, but the point is he could play a game of keep-away, without having to make conscious decisions.
    To confirm this, if you look closely around Peter's head, you can see distortions that match the lightning shaped Spider-Man tingle marks also shown in "Into The Spider-Verse" or other media.

    What's unfortunate about all of the villains being 'fixed', is Doc Ock and Electro probably went back and immediately died anyway. They were sent back to their own universes at the moment they were pulled from them. At that moment, Doc Ock's machine is self-sustaining and in the process of destroying the city, and has to be drowned. Electro is stuck in the electric grid while fighting Spider-Man and is going to overload.
    I say this because Doc says (while in denial of dying in his universe) that he had Peter by the throat and then he was there, which would have been near the end of Spider-Man 2. Electro describes his scene as being in the grid and becoming pure energy (process of overloading).
