Guy strikes me as a real class act. He's honest, without being cocky or shameful in his demeanour. And I probably shouldn't, but I do feel a little bit of respect for him for not informing on his former associates.
Michael Franzese is an intelligent man. With his business acumen, he could have been a CEO of a Fortune 500. He used to be his own worst enemy, but I appreciate how Michael chose a path to redemption by mentoring at-risk people to stay clean and away from a life of crime. I always appreciate people who have seen the error of their ways and commit to redemption for life.
His own worst enemy? His dad probably pampered him to be in the mob. It’s not as easy for some people to choose the right path as it is for others. I don’t think either of us are qualified to say how wrong he was if we weren’t in the situation.
While I agree with you on all counts, It helps when you have millions in off-shore accounts.

He's said in interviews since this that he didn't attend his father's funeral (he died in 2020 at age 103, before corona struck) not because they had problems, but because he didn't think it was safe for him to do so since the funeral took place in Brooklyn.
