    --------------
    In this clip, Michael Franzese discussed taking a plea deal back in 1986 which sent him to prison on a 10-year bid. This was Franzese first time in prison and he described what that experience was like. He explained how being a made man gave him a certain type of clout with his fellow inmates but did very little for the overarching power structure of the prison (C.O.s, warden, etc.).
    Later in the clip, Michael Franzese breaks down how the RICO act began sending guys away for decades and how made men began turning into informants as a result.

    Franzese is incorrect about Goodfellas in prison. At Lewisburg (federal prison) most of them lived in 'H' block. They ate steaks, various Italian foods, seafood, etc. Whiskey was brought in in 35 gallon milk jugs. A lot of that stuff was brought into the block by corrupt guards.
    No one was assigned to 'H' block unless the mob guys agreed to it. So the cellblock was composed of made guys and trusted associates.
    I know all this because I was there. I worked in the kitchen, and I sold them eggs and other foods. Not once was I ever searched by the guards when I was making deliveries to 'H' block. That''s just the way it was.
    They were as good as their word, and I had a tidy sum of money when I got released. I was not an associate, just some guy trying to get by in a bad situation.

      Snitching ain't bad, it's good. We're talking about Criminals here, they have no honor. Honor is wasted on a Criminal. These Mob guys are liars, cheats, killers, rapists and all around degenerates. Every mob member is looking out for number one. Every criminal only cares about themselves. You have to be a self centered, egotistical douchebag to even think about becoming a criminal. So the mob and any other street gang is full of douchebags like this and some how people thing these guys are going to become honest citizens when they are looking at hundreds of years in the pen. Get the hell out of here with that shit. The mob has along history of killing their friends who they think might snitch. Why is that if that oath they take actually meant something? They kill their own kind because they know the type of members they have in their group. They know they're all full of bullshit and bravado. They know that oath they take don't mean shit. You want criminals not to snitch, just kill family members until they shut the fuck up. The only thing criminals understand is criminal behavior. Oath's are for idiots, doesn't matter if it's the military or the mob, oaths are just propaganda tools for the weak minded and the young. People who buy into it fully usually end up dead. I respect this guy cause he played the game, he didn't let the game play him. He did what he needed to do to keep his freedom, to breath fresh air and have his family around him. The dumbasses who bought into the oath are either dead or in jail. In life try to be the smart guy, not the dumb guy end of story.

I’m sure criminal career was not his first choice. And if you know anything about this guy he was premed before his dad went to jail and he had to provide for his family. Not an excuse, but a person isnt responsible for there circumstance

    • @973reggie
      @973reggie 5 лет назад +1

      Boss J Desano Yeah I don’t gotta figure out why you don’t understand the idiocy of that statement but rest assured what you just said is ridiculous. If you swapped bodies with someone, you would be them. It’s literally that simple. If I gave you the chance identical circumstances and genetics as this guy Michael, you would do every single thing he did and thats a fact. You can’t take credit for having a different experience when you didn’t create the circumstances that put you there. Criticize anyone’s actions sure. But to have like anger towards a criminal as a person? That just means you don’t understand causality. You didn’t pick your parents, nor the environment you grew up in.

    Those who accuse mike of being a rat have no idea what they're talking about. View a few more interviews other than just vlad. Difinitive guid to the mob, valuetainment and his christian inspirationals are worth watching. This interview just barely scrarches the surface. Hes no longer in the life and omerta doesnt relate to him anymore, yet his story in all the interviews hes given remain consistent. Former federal officers and district attornies also said mike never cooperated. He told them how the mob operates (they already know how it operates), but thats all they got. Mike stated the obvious and nothing more. Remember theres a book out regarding his departure (for those who are not allergic to books). But people insist on calling him a rat. Ignorance is bliss😔

      @@freshmenleaguebully2078 Different cases and charges bro. They made examples of the others for homicide charges which is why he thought they'd do the same to him like they did to his father despite his father beating all previous fed charges when they can finally get him on one they over-sentenced him for missing him all the years before. He took a plea deal and if he ratted on his pairs it would be public information, the only case that I'm aware of him being apart of was the NBA scandal thing, however, I think if you help give greater insight to the life you live to the feds (which is what he said he did) without implicating anyone or saying any names, you can be seen as a rat as it can indirectly help them convict others.
