Where is the mother off?! It's coming. We have 200+ Mothers to discuss and I tried to make a video on them in the past weeek, but its a big discussion and the video didn't turn out well. Thankfully, I was working on this idea at the same time and what was just going to be a quick 10 minute video turned into a typical 30 minute discussion. Hopefully this will tide everyone over. 😅

I love the flowers given to Lt Surge but I think we as a community need to work harder to ascend Lorelei into that motherhood she deserves. When I was a kid, it was Lorelei that awoke something inside of me that manifested itself into who I am today. When I saw her giving pose in Let's Go, I screamed. Also, Blue gives more and more sleekness in his looks every time he shows up. Like, he has the potential but chooses to throw it away with his team choices.

so this will be a weird explanation, but I have big issues staying focused, so I try to keep my conversations within a framework. Going into masters would have made me yap like another 30 minutes, so I decided not to include it. There is some masters graphics in here though. I have wanted to talk about masters for a while, so it might happen soon. The outfits are kind of random, but there are many icons in it, so I just need to mess with the idea. :))

I think you did a great job when you focused on a thing that you found that stand out (like the Lorelei/Misty TCG card) So you could maybe do the same if you found a Masters desing that you really liked/hated. Even more excited for future videos then, again keep the great work!

Surge is so joyful and happy and full of whimsy in a way that most military characters arent, and i think that characterization is what elevates his design and keeps it from being plain and boring despite his usual generic military dude wear I also resent that Surge and Giovanni go to the same parties, because Janine is such a level of daddies girl that she needs two dads, and tge other one is definitely surge. Like, look at him and tell me hes not a girl dad
The Sunflower badge is definitely hinting at more: The Sunflower is an international symbol of nuclear disarmament, so the military guy handing them out is a political message.
extra info about lorelei, if you go into her house after you beat her several times in firered and leafgreen, she gains pokemon plushies, with clefairy, lapras, and other rlly cute pokemon as plushies, its such a cute detail that they could've not done but did anyways
I will defend Blue on here and say that he at LEAST deserves looks around, he truly shines in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, his team mostly consists of manlypop pokemon but some of them such as Arcanine, Pidgeot and Rhydon, for me give me girlypop; it also reflects him as a very confident trainer with pokemon such as machamp and gyarados showing that confidence. Although he has used payolazard in the past before and it seems like its his main pokemon, It is not actually!! It's pidgeot that you see most of the times seen in his final battle in red, blue and green, heart gold and soul silver and Pokemon Masters EX in his base form!! I also believe that pidgeot is a great pokemon for him as it shows his fierceness and the typing matches his personality which is to strive to be the best pokemon trainer. Well there's my mini-essay on Blue and why he should be bumped up a tier!!
I think it's so telling that Blue is best when he's grown up, in alola, let go of the internalized homophobia and is just on a honeymoon with red. Definitely giving closeted bully energy when he's younger, the skip is harsh but I mean I'm not disagreeing am I. See I always thought Sabrina’s gym badge was repurposed from the fighting type gym her city originally had before she stormed in and took it over with her psychic types. I love your videos and am a recent subscriber: our similar taste in games, your aesthetic; my dictionary for girlypop doesn't always read the same as yours but that's what makes the perspective & conversation so fascinating! Lorelei is my favorite character in pokemon, with Erika right behind her. I mean, anyone that reads my channel name will see the references; lorelei is the perfect example I have of a character that can really impact you regardless of their relevance. I think about her so often that I actually forget how much of an afterthought she really is in regard to game freaks treatment of her. But she's always stood out to me & admittedly, I project a lot of myself onto her because we both have a lot in common aesthetically. The hints of purple in her designs, which is my favorite color...the glasses which is my favorite accessory...my favorite Pokémon of all time is Jynx. Who does she use? mmhmm. The slowpoke & seel line are also among my favorite pokemon, so the majority of her teams consist of my faves. Her name too, idk what it is but I find "Lorelei" to be the most gorgeous name. It's my favorite word, even. I love the name so much that I use it as a nickname on the internet. Though she's categorized as an Ice trainer, her team has a lot of parallels with the water and psychic typing; I love Will from gen 2, but it makes me salty that her and agatha got shafted from their positions when they're the standouts of the original lineup, IMO. How cool would it have been to see Lorelei in gen 2 as a psychic type trainer? She keeps her Jynx and Slowbro, but mixes it up and subverts expectations of the players that know her from gen 1. IDEK if this comment has made a lick of sense, but I adore Lorelei so much and she means a lot to me. It's a shame she wasn't given the extra appearences via Johto to really be a staple in a lot of people's minds, and for as long as I can remember I'm always wondering about the 'what if' that is Lorelei's HGSS design. Lorelei is my favorite character in pokemon, with Erika right behind her. I mean, anyone that reads my channel name will see the references; lorelei is the perfect example I have of a character that can really impact you regardless of their relevance. I think about her so often that I actually forget how much of an afterthought she really is in regard to game freaks treatment of her. But she's always stood out to me & admittedly, I project a lot of myself onto her because we both have a lot in common aesthetically. The hints of purple in her designs, which is my favorite color...the glasses which is my favorite accessory...my favorite Pokémon of all time is Jynx. Who does she use? mmhmm. The slowpoke & seel line are also among my favorite pokemon, so the majority of her teams consist of my faves. Her name too, idk what it is but I find "Lorelei" to be the most gorgeous name. It's my favorite word, even. I love the name so much that I use it as a nickname on the internet. Though she's categorized as an Ice trainer, her team has a lot of parallels with the water and psychic typing; I love Will from gen 2, but it makes me salty that her and agatha got shafted from their positions when they're the standouts of the original lineup, IMO.
How cool would it have been to see Lorelei in gen 2 as a psychic type trainer? She keeps her Jynx and Slowbro, but mixes it up and subverts expectations of the players that know her from gen 1. IDEK if this comment has made a lick of sense, but I adore Lorelei so much and she means a lot to me. It's a shame she wasn't given the extra appearences via Johto to really be a staple in a lot of people's minds, and for as long as I can remember I'm always wondering about the 'what if' that is Lorelei's HGSS design. It's such a tragedy
