I feel like the reason for recent years pokemon designs being more attractive is also partially because of the introduction of pokemon masters/masters EX. Gacha games draw on their characters' visual appeal first and sensible design second. Designing characters thatd easily draw people to pull for them is a core idea for gacha design. So i think that does play a role in a lot of the decisions made in later games.
I love a lot of the whacky older designs, but Im also not immune to Rika's incredibly hot gnc appeal. Lusamine may be hot but she's colder than the south pole xD

Yo, he literally lives _two towns away_ from his (probably ex-)wife and kid. BIG separation energy there, he's totally only seeing that kid every other weekend.
From what we see he actually still lives in the house and the gym feels more like a commute to Petalburg. That being said, he seems to have the gym as his main priority since he can't take a day off to go and see a meteor shower with his wife.

It's been a couple years so maybe I'm forgetting something, but I don't remember him having a room, any of the stuff we can inspect in the house being described as his, or even seeing him set foot inside once. We literally see _nothing_ implying he lives in the house, beyond his child and (possibly ex-)wife living in the house which doesn't exclude the idea he could be separated or divorced from the player's mother and living in Petalburg, where his Gym is.
@@RikkuEcRud To be fair, our own mother doesn't have a room. Those stairs in the players house lead to the singular room that belongs to the player. And we actually do see him in the house. The Delta Episode postgame of ORAS starts with the players mom telling Norman she got tickets to the Mosdeep meteor shower and how Norman would like to go but has to temd to the gym that day. Not only is it displaying that they live together but also that she genuinely wants to spend time with Norman.

See here's why i would struggle so much because the Pokemon Adventures versions of the characters from gen 1 til 4 have completely overwritten their game counterparts in my head.
That manga is *amazing* and makes a lot of the characters so much better and more complex. And some characters are down right evil in it like Lorelei, whereas Bruno is the one original e4 member I now respect the most out of them xD
They made Lorelei good again in the FRLG chapter.
In hindsight they should’ve made it that she was under mind control like Bruno instead of being willingly complicit in genocide.
With all due respect to the original chapters, I like that the FRLG chapter had new characters to serve as villains instead of turning gym leaders and Elite 4 members evil.

Gordie is canonically a handsome and hardworking trainer who cares deeply for his fans. You can see by his interactions in the Gallar tournament that he's not rude at all
His bad relationship with his mother is also %100 her fault. From a young age he was forced to train a type he never wanted by a mother who's teaching style is describe with words like "ruthless", "fierce", and "stoic", It's no wonder he hates her now. This is even acknowledged in the manga where Melony is fully aware of this and hates herself for it

It's probably just because it's the most modern region and the designs keep getting better with each generation, but I like to think that they included so many attractive character designs in Paldea because they think people in Spain are hot 😂🔥 I hope they don't get disappointed if they come here to visit real-life Paldea

Personally I am a straight woman. So I just find men attractive. In Pokemon, a lot of the men are too old, too fat or most often too macho. The attractive men are few and far between. I did find some gems in the long video. Adaman and Volo really stand out as being the two hottest characters in the whole series. I give a 10 for both of them. I like my long haired pretty boys. I recently started a new playthrough of Legends Arceus. I forgot that these guys were in here. I love Legends Arceus for the fun open world gameplay. Having two hot guys is a bonus. Iridia and Arezu are pretty too. It is nice that the video had Adaman in the title card. I haven't played a Johto game in ages. I forgot about Faulkner and Morty. Those guys are so hot. I give them a 10 too. I also forgot that Red and Blue got aged up. I guess we can thirst over them without being creepy. These guys are so hot. I give Red a 10. For Blue, I don't know. I would give him a 9. However if Blue became more modest and kind in adulthood, I would give him a 10. As a kid, Blue was cute but obnoxious. I hope he grows out of it. Two other cute boys are Silver from Johto and Calem from Kalos. If those guys got aged up too, they would be super hot. I give a honorable mention to Leon, N, Wallace and the Kalos professor. They are very hot. I give all of them a 9.

Although already at Erika, I had to think that making 8 just plain "Hot" is maybe a bit too restrictive, because I'd say Erika, and other later characters are definitely above just "Very Attractive", but "Hot" doesn't really describe them, I'd say cuteness ranks just as highly, like how coolness probably factors into a lot of the mens rankings.
Erika's the kind of girl you look at twice, and realize she's dressing in a way DESIGNED to be a bit frumpy. She doesn't WANT to "look sexy". She's just wearing stuff she's comfortable in. My little artist heart thinks it's interesting seeing the different body types on the guys ranging from absolute hunk, to bear, to twinks for the guys. The girls are mostly pretty thin sticks, with the exception of a few curvier ladies and Sada, who has very mildly defined abs. Maybe Rika. You could use her as a bookmark, not a single curve there. The woman of all time.

Honestly a lot of guys got way lower ratings than I expected. Maybe this committee is just full of women kissers, but Grusha and Piers are some of those characters that to me deserved a 10. As annoying as clair might have been in the story, particularly with how she refuses to give her gym badge I will agree that her hgss design is probably one of the best designs in the game, because before her outfit was bland and monotone blue in color.and it felt like a bland precursor to the dragon tamer class, but in hgss her design has this sick Dragonair motif and I'm not gonna lie, those hips of hers are quite nice

Well, the Ingo and Emmet segments. The low scores just because they overshadowed another character kinda irks me a bit. Still a funny section(glad we are all in agreement the Arceus design was an upgrade, and Emmet is kinda creepy) but it does skew the ratings when the reason has nothing to do with the attractiveness. I like Anabel as a character too and agree she does need more attention(though I also agree the twins or really any faller has the sadder story because we know they’ve lost really close attachments and we either see their struggles or their loved ones struggles while Anabel seems to have more accepted the things that happened and lost the least) but that’s more on the fans than the characters themselves for that overshadowing
Y'all are WAY more generous than I would be for a lot of these characters. The bias from two of the 'judges' for certain characters/aspects of a character felt completely wrong to me.

my headcannon for Peony: he is a loving, single dad who is very creative with ADHD, and when Peonia was little, she loved her dad but as she got older she either didn't have time or felt embarrassed by her dad and wanted some independence (because she is a teenager), they still both love each other but because of her dad's hyperactive and impulsive nature and her teenager-ness, there is a gap between them. They lost Peonia's mother when Peonia was very little which is why he gave up championship to spend more time with her, do more important stuff (because stuff that takes a lot of attention takes a lot out of him), manage the finances, all this stuff that the mom used to do. He did a lot of little work around everywhere. He was overworked (so he got some grey hairs) and couldn't pay for school unfortunately, they moved to the snowy place in the crown tundra where he worked as a carrot farmer. it was a small town, and he had to homeschool Peonia. When she was 10-11, he had a bit more free time and also this was when they would be learning about pokemon, how to catch them, yadda-yadda-yadda. He was creative so he would set up these hunts. Eventually legendary studies came up in the teachings and after a while he came up with 3 hunts. But Nia wanted to just do the labrynths, that's when you arrived.
