Some fun fact about Jasmine: According to her Pokemon Adventures GSC Arc, she was formerly a Rock-type specialist, using an Onix as her ace, then her Onix evolved into Steelix, a Pokemon that, at that time, was not documented anywhere by anyone. She handily defeated Brock using this unknown Pokemon in the Johto-Kanto exhibition series, prompting Prof. Oak to introduce the new Steel type into the mix.
It's actually very weird consider that Magnemite and magneton is in Kanto dex and they pretty much made of metal

Definitely she should be Steel Electric, it matches the magnetons and that Ampharos is iconic, plus many steel types learn electric moves and vice versa

I wish Gym leaders used a theme team (like weather teams) or duel types. For example Raihan is the perfect example. He uses a sandstorm team but also uses ground and dragons

Impossible to avoid is very true, I saw someone attempt to do it where everyone got a different type but it was done poorly since no gym leader could share a type, this is much better and on the expected quality from the great leader of team sky!

2:17 - 21:53 Mikey I do think Brycen makes more sense as a Dark/Ice leader. Because in B2W2 you have to do the first Brycen-Man film in order to progress in the story and in that first Brycen-Man film, he uses Pawniard and Vullaby. Yes I know he's playing a character but 1) Generations is not canon and 2) it's a necessary thing you must complete in order to progress
18:07 For the triplets, I would just change it so that it is all three brothers facing you, and it is the three monkeys. No Lillipup needed. If the starter thing is THAT important, your starter can choose the Ace.
Edit: Though, I also wish that the monkeys were all dual normal type (despite it messing up one of my favorite Unova Pokémon, Sawsbuck) so what do I know.

With Norman, I think it'd be cool if his second type was grass, fire or water, depending on which starter the protagonist chose, being the same type as said starter.
Thematically this works with him being the protagonist's father, and - if we are allowed to break the regional dex rule in this instance - it could be one of the Johto starters, either in middle or final form, to reflect the character's Johto regipn origins.

Yes and no, in regards to the Elite Four theme.
It's not that they were twin type specialists, each member of the first 2 elite fours used Pokemon that followed a specific theme. The first true Type Specialist was Will of the Johto Elite Four.
Lorelei followed an Arctic Theme, as her entire team's natural habitat was the Seafoam Islands (while Lapras cannot be encountered at Seafoam Islands in game, it's heavily implied they often frequent the Islands)
Bruno in both games followed the idea of Training both himself and his Pokemon to be as strong as possible, as a result, he catches Onixes to use them as training partners and for weightlifting.
Agatha's team follows the trend of Common Phobias in Japan, being Ghosts, Snakes, and Bats.
And Lance's Team follows the trend of Dragons. I don't think I need to explain that one.
As for Gen 2, Will's Team represents indirect communication, and since this is a trait Psychic Types typically share, he's the first true Type Specialist.
Koga's team focuses around sabotage tactics that ninjas would use.
And Karen's team revolves around the Night, as with the exception of Umbreon, all of her Pokemon either exclusively have encounters at night or have increased encounter rates at night, whereas Umbreon is only obtained by evolving Eevee at night.
From Gen 3 onwards, every Elite Four Member has been a Type Specialist with few exceptions, and by few, I mean Gen 4.
I really think that considering how she uses Magnemites and she has a special connection with Amphy and the Lighthouse, not giving Jasmine an Electric Type is a missed opportunity. I would also see an argument for Giovanni having a Ground/Poison specialty due to his connections with Team Rocket who specialize with Poison Pokemon.
It's never strange for me to hear a rock type specialist adding the ground secondary typing because there are so many rock / ground or ground / rock types.
Also, on the topic of Sabrina and the Fairy type, even though Pokemon is pretty tame and so far is mostly playing into the “cute trickster” theme for Fairy, remember that in actual lore, fairies and the Fey are actually terrifying, so much so that they call them the Fair Folk to avoid insulting them and being cursed. Fairies can absolutely be intimidating, think the Unseelie Court from D&D

Since it also says that their Pokémon battle ended up dividing the _town_, imma go out on a limb and say that they probably squashed their beef between each other and are just too busy to see each other, but the people of Circhester is out here thinking it’s still going on.

I guess this might eventually come true in a future Johto game. Whitney would be a Normal/Fairy Leader & Brock would be Rock/Ground, as there are no Ground specialists in the Johto games.
I would say with Elesa, instead of keeping the two Emolga, swap one out with Tranquill since Skyla uses the final evolution in the Pidove line. Then add on a Togetic since in Master's EX, Skyla gives Elesa a Togepi egg for Palentine's Day which evolved into Togetic.
Also, I think it'd be cute if Skyla was Flying/Electric as well. I know it's two gym leaders overlapping, but it would showcase a friendship that some fans might be unaware of. Have Skyla then use the other Emolga (maybe Elesa traded it to her).
The reason Lance specializes in flying is because the flying type originally was the bird and win type and Lance was a wind master. Agatha is just poison. The other two are correct.
This is such a cool idea and I hope that they use it in a future game

Considering there's an NPC in the lighthouse that flat out says she was a Rock specialist before Steel showed up.... which explains why her ace is Steelix in the first place.

So skarmory, corsola, shuckle and steelix could have been a great team especially for a defensive core as she seems to like defense
For Cheren, I feel he should be normal/starter type too, specifically the starter type he chose in BW, if there's a memory link, or corresponding to the BW2 protagonist's starter choice with advantage, as he did in BW. Perhaps not using his original starter, that would be a fully evolved by this time and too strong for the 1st gym, but maybe a pre-evolved form bred from his original starter, maybe with good IVs and a few egg moves.
Now this is an interesting concept!
For Morty, I would add Dark, and give him a Murkrow and Houndoom instead of the poison types to show off the new dark-types more.
I'd argue Jasmine should be a Steel Electric Leader: Steelix, Skarmory, Magnaton, Ampheros
I would like to see major battles focus on "themes" rather than types. More recent games are considered easy in part simply because people know what to do and the game doesn't increse the difficulty in other ways. Also it would be really cool since you can implement the characters design of the trainers, like Arven who has, aside from mabostiff, only food like mons
I would have given Brycen the dark type because that's the type specialty of his most popular character in Pokéstar Studios
