I'm a fruity geologist so i have some OPINIONS on rock types... gen 5 has the best rocks hands down. rocks are so beautiful and have so many unique environments they form in and i dont think rock type pokemon give what they should. like most of them are just "rock" like wheres the layers, foliation, gemstones. this is why i love crustle (big sedimentary rock) and the roggenrola line (garnets)
Nihilego is the girliest of all rock types, it's dex entries describe it "behaving like a young girl" and it even has an animation where it raises its tentacle to its "face" and giggles
Lapras and Aurorus beef runs DEEP. I think Project Voltage was going to be Aurorus’s time to really shine any get her mother spotlight along with Miku in the ice category but was snubbed by Lapras because she’s the industry’s favorite, the money maker even. Not only that, but Lapras wanted to contend for the water category earlier but was defeated by mother Primarina. So, Lapras is really projecting her fear of losing stardom onto Aurorus, and by doing so snatched the Ice category from her. However, Aurorus saw this coming, therefore already have a conversation with Ms. Miku. And now they perform the ultimate slay in the rock category, which adds so much more to the narrative of their rivalry.
I think That Girlypop Rock is always gonna struggle on their own, but as a multitype girlypop team, Rock type can give a really good hard edge to the girlypop. the Sailor Jupitor of the team. a great paradox of fem/masc energy.

I am SUCH a Glimmora stan and I wanna thank you for putting respect on her name because- she's a personal mother for me. The fact that she directly ties to the SV lore, is a literal CRYSTAL FLOWER that blooms when it evolves & comes out of its ball, has this gorgeous color palette of these blues, purples and teals, has a unique typing & ability that really makes her stand out in this modern era like- she just has this elegance about her that I feel we rarely get to see from the typings of which she co-exists in. I LOVED having her on my team.
The Kalos fossils gave what the other fossils couldn’t. We got two dinosaurs that are both amazing in their own ways, and both are giving in different ways. A fierce predator for those who want a strong and intimidating team, and a majestic queen for all the girly-pops like us. They’re giving a lot and i’m glad you gave them their flowers. I think the ice type needs some representation though, the Aurorus line shows how iconic ice types can be.
@@hannahsssooo Ninetales and Aurorus are majestic, but there’s also Spheal and Cetoddle for cute(Cetoddle kinda sounds like it’s mimicking Koraidon which I love), Snom and Frostmoth which are cute and beautiful respectively, Glaceon which I don’t personally like but know is popular, Frostlass who, according to the pokédex, is a girl boss, and a bunch of other great pokémon! There are a lot of great Ice types and I feel we need a good type after the interesting video this was.

i think that, if I had to do a Rock Girlypop team, i'd lean on the pretty shiny rock theme (who are mostly in mother, duh) so like - Mega Diancie as ace - her pet Carbink - The gorgeous Aurorus as a mount *almost like a horse to a princess* - Nihilego is actually so pretty, looks like a high concept dress/outfit made of glass - i just need Corsola cuz cute - and a Light Blue Minior to fit the team when it hatches i think i'd be pretty happy with that 💎✨🎀
This team is actually such a serve!! I honestly think Lunatone could also slot into this sort of team nicely, especially the shiny, the striking blue eyes defo compliment a lot of the Pokémon here That and the Moon is *technically* a shiny rock because she literally glows✨✨

I could tell Phaun was thirsting for girlypop in the beginning. I’m not a girlypop expert but I think some of the early picks were skewed higher because of the girlypop thirst. Maybe after finishing it would be good to take a final look and make tweaks to the tierlist
I see most rock types as accents to other girlypop teams. Example: Midnight Lycanrock seems like such a nice little accent to a team with a Gorgeist and a Shiinotic, like a moon-girly team .

the nosepass line is pop, it just isnt girly. but as you said, it brings such personality, sillyness, and whimsy to the table (and does so in a very unique and creative way) that i think it deserves a high tier.
the way I am excited to see justice for Tyranitar, cause it has like this imagery around her of being tough and edgy, and that has given her a reputation of being masculine and only for the manly territory, but we cannot forget that Tyranitar is literally a mother in the whole Larvitar arc in the anime and is based on Godzilla, who is a monstrous mother willing to destroy New York City in order to protect her eggs, just like Tyranitar is willing to tear down entire mountains to protect her child. can't help it but to stan.

I've been watching your series religiously and I want to thank you for putting Mega Sceptile in Mother back in the grass video (I'm a Treecko line girly through and through). This ranking is perfect except IMO I would move up Garganacl! My image of her changed because of the illustration rare card in the TCG (202 in Paradox Rift). It's one of my fave cards atm, she looks so beautiful, and she's a healer!! Surrounded by all these babies (many girly pops) with the sunlight shining on her and highlighting her healing salt properties. Reading the description of her on the card seriously endeared me to this Pokemon. I think she's gorgeous. She was also one of my first overworld shinies in Violet! I was never really a rock type girl but this Pokemon, I made sure to keep her on my team. Stop I love the card of her so much I'm just thinking about it now. Thank you for this series!!

If you pay attention to Naclstack, her eyes are SO cute and she's actually wearing makeup. She's the only one in the family that takes care of her patterns and make them look cohesive. and her nails are fierce!!
Glimmora's line is definitely Mother for me. She's serving Chalcanthite, she's serving crystals. The way that it looks like a flower at first and then we see her in the walls in area zero is giving high camp. Chalcanthites are also poisonous in real life so the rock and poison typing is perfection. ✨ The fact that she also harnessed the terastal power in area zero and gave it to everyone else (tera blast and tera orbs), she definitely deserved to be the ace of the terastal region's champion. 🔮 ✨ Edit: Chalcanthite also means copper bloom. 🔮 🌺 Which explains the greenish oxidized copper color in her shiny form.
Part of me really wants to see this for Poison types since I wonder what you'd look for in a poison type girlypop/mother, but part of me knows it would break my heart when you inevitably place some of my favorite poison type mons in (looks around) or Skip
Rock type could be so much more if they leaned into the gemstone aesthetic. mons like minior and diancie, bright colors and sharp angles based on diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, etc The steel type as well. Like imagine a Steel type designed around the rainbow colored bismuth
I mean I’m glad to get the more difficult ranking videos for sure - on that last video, where you said you’d only do types if people asked for it, I was worried we’d only get to know the girlypopness (girlypopitude?) of the well-saturated types. This video actually is inspiring me to make some of the rock-type Fakemon I make more weird and unique looking! Here are some of the Ideas and inspirations (feel free to use these ideas): Rock-type feminine Pokemon based on blue lace agate, whose silhouette is elegant and round like a dress (like Gothitelle, Gardevoir, Lilligant, etc). Water/Rock-type Clamperl regional variant that fully leans into its pearl inspiration. Rock/Dark-type based on hag stones. Bug/Rock-type bee based on on bumblebee jasper. Rock/Poison based on cinnabar (which is toxic due to its high amount of mercury). Dragon/Rock-type based on Jade and Chinese Long dragons. Psychic/Rock-type opal based on the importance of opals in many Aboriginal Australian stories (please look into this of your interested, it's really fascinating!).

Im sorry, but I have to give Glimmora's crytalised flower appearance especially in game when shes on the walls is mother to me in the rock type. I get how in poison, shes got more competition for that spot, and the 2d sprite isnt giving her justice but when I see the rock mothers, shes up there for me.

I've recently binged all your girlypop ranking videos and I was very excited for the new one! Loved it! Looking at all the rock types, one thing really stood out for me: there's a criminal lack of "pretty rock" themed rock type pokemons. We got a few... Like we see crystal/jewelry inspo in other types but not so much where it should most obviously be? So many are "normal" brown/grey rocks, but there are so many precious stones, crystals, minerals, etc that would be great inspirations. This would definitively help the girlypop ratio!

the nosepass line is pop, it just isnt girly. but as you said, it brings such personality, sillyness, and whimsy to the table (and does so in a very unique and creative way) that i think it deserves a high tier.
the way I am excited to see justice for Tyranitar, cause it has like this imagery around her of being tough and edgy, and that has given her a reputation of being masculine and only for the manly territory, but we cannot forget that Tyranitar is literally a mother in the whole Larvitar arc in the anime and is based on Godzilla, who is a monstrous mother willing to destroy New York City in order to protect her eggs, just like Tyranitar is willing to tear down entire mountains to protect her child. can't help it but to stan.

I've been watching your series religiously and I want to thank you for putting Mega Sceptile in Mother back in the grass video (I'm a Treecko line girly through and through). This ranking is perfect except IMO I would move up Garganacl! My image of her changed because of the illustration rare card in the TCG (202 in Paradox Rift). It's one of my fave cards atm, she looks so beautiful, and she's a healer!! Surrounded by all these babies (many girly pops) with the sunlight shining on her and highlighting her healing salt properties. Reading the description of her on the card seriously endeared me to this Pokemon. I think she's gorgeous. She was also one of my first overworld shinies in Violet! I was never really a rock type girl but this Pokemon, I made sure to keep her on my team. Stop I love the card of her so much I'm just thinking about it now. Thank you for this series!!
This video explains so much about why I rarely put rock types on my team. (but Minior is one of my favorite Pokemon of all time as well and I was so happy to see her get the recognition she deserves)

Aesthetics and vibe are really important when it comes to art, and this approach to what each Pokemon brings to the table when it comes to girlypopness really sparks my brain in a certain way that I don't think anyone else has been able to! You’re absolutely correct about the Aurorus line. Lapras can’t take her, so Lapras is using gamefreak payola to sabotage her career. It’s genuinely sick and twisted how envious Lapras is of Aurorus’ beauty and talent. Jealousy is a killer in this industry.
If you pay attention to Naclstack, her eyes are SO cute and she's actually wearing makeup. She's the only one in the family that takes care of her patterns and make them look cohesive. and her nails are fierce!!

Glimmora's line is definitely Mother for me. She's serving Chalcanthite, she's serving crystals. The way that it looks like a flower at first and then we see her in the walls in area zero is giving high camp. Chalcanthites are also poisonous in real life so the rock and poison typing is perfection. ✨
The fact that she also harnessed the terastal power in area zero and gave it to everyone else (tera blast and tera orbs), she definitely deserved to be the ace of the terastal region's champion. 🔮 ✨
Edit: Chalcanthite also means copper bloom. 🔮 🌺 Which explains the greenish oxidized copper color in her shiny form.

I mean I’m glad to get the more difficult ranking videos for sure - on that last video, where you said you’d only do types if people asked for it, I was worried we’d only get to know the girlypopness (girlypopitude?) of the well-saturated types. This brings an appreciation to some hidden gems, no pun intended.

This video actually is inspiring me to make some of the rock-type Fakemon I make more weird and unique looking! Here are some of the Ideas and inspirations (feel free to use these ideas):
Rock-type feminine Pokemon based on blue lace agate, whose silhouette is elegant and round like a dress (like Gothitelle, Gardevoir, Lilligant, etc).
Water/Rock-type Clamperl regional variant that fully leans into its pearl inspiration.
Rock/Dark-type based on hag stones.
Bug/Rock-type bee based on on bumblebee jasper.
Rock/Poison based on cinnabar (which is toxic due to its high amount of mercury).
Dragon/Rock-type based on Jade and Chinese Long dragons.
Psychic/Rock-type opal based on the importance of opals in many Aboriginal Australian stories (please look into this of your interested, it's really fascinating!).
The way I'm using your Girlypop videos as background sound while Im playing and that I noticed you went the EXRTA MOTHERING WAY with all those rock facts make it now I have to watch this video a second time and stop at every rock facts !! Keep mothering those Girlypop vids I do enjoy them a lot

Im sorry, but I have to give Glimmora's crytalised flower appearance especially in game when shes on the walls is mother to me in the rock type. I get how in poison, shes got more competition for that spot, and the 2d sprite isnt giving her justice but when I see the rock mothers, shes up there for me.

I've recently binged all your girlypop ranking videos and I was very excited for the new one! Loved it!
Looking at all the rock types, one thing really stood out for me: there's a criminal lack of "pretty rock" themed rock type pokemons. We got a few... Like we see crystal/jewelry inspo in other types but not so much where it should most obviously be? So many are "normal" brown/grey rocks, but there are so many precious stones, crystals, minerals, etc that would be great inspirations. This would definitively help the girlypop ratio!
