Like, so true on Gallade! I feel like "manlypop" could, or for the purposes of these videos, be considered girlypop. Why? Because manly-pop to me is all about queering masculinity?! What can still appear masculine but with a touch of queerness or subversiveness? Gallade, although manly, is still fierce and elegant; it adds a charm that masculinity is not always given!

It’s actually so refreshing to see people base their Pokemon teams around girlypop-ness, storyline, design concept, context, and aesthetic cohesion with the other Pokemon.
I feel like a lot of people base their teams around utility, strength, and the current Smogon meta, which is totally fine and you can be both girlypop and meta.
But I like seeing more thematic Pokemon teams that have some type of story or aesthetic in mind. It adds to the roleplay aspect of the game and helps it be more immersive. Love this channel and the community here. 😍😍😍

Very that! Gardevoir was originally designed to be like a royal mage protecting the party’s leader (or trainer in this case), and Gallade is the Paladin equivalent. It’s why dex entires mention her summoning black holes, higher level gravity magic becomes tiny black holes
gotta say that inkay deserves to be in girlypop... hear me out, inkay was, i think, the first pokemon to introduce that silly evolution where u have to turn the ds upside down which is 𖣐unique𖣐 and a very cute interaction with the actual trainer, she's giving cute and silly comedian, performer, kinda mischievous especially in the anime even tho i personally think it wasn't a good one, she WAS ✨shining✨, doing her thing, spraying ink, lighting the little lights on her pink jell-o brain hairstyle thing, loving james, turning upside down, she literally made me search for the word 👁oxymoron👁, especially being a psychic and a dark type, she's also splatoon coded, (her shiny is very cute) and she's a weirdo like every other iconic psychic type SHE DESERVES PRAISE, LONG LIVE INKAY, VIVE SEPIATOP!!!

In game lore, she is the ultimate representation of what a blessing and a curse being an Empath can be… hence why she only responds well to teammates and trainers who are as balanced with their emotions as they are in keeping their cool in battle. Honestly? I think I see Phaun’s point. I want Lunala to be mother across the board in my heart so bad, there’s just something she’s not giving. i agree! as an they/them, i remember seeing deoxys for the first time as a child and it striking such a chord in me- they’re kinda fem, but kinda alien, and they have such a strong presence

also I completely agree about Gallade, I think there is definitely space for "masculine-looking" Pokémon in the girly pop category, it's all about silhouette and vibes.

As a dark type trainer i would love to see a video on dark types (just to see absol get put in mother) , i feel like the dark type is more viscious looking and rough around the edges so it would be interesting to try to view them in a girlpop study.
