I'm not surprised you missed it, but Caitlin actually has another appearance as the head of the Battle Castle in Generation IV. She has her valet battle on her behalf in that, which is why you probably didn't notice. And of course, she does pre-date Fairy type, hence the mixed aesthetic.
Pinning this comment again, because it feels like I'm getting bots or something, repeating that Caitlin appeared before Fairy types. Lol, very strange. I didn't have to scroll too far to find this comment either. 😅😏
iris’ champion look is the sort of over the top that feels like they handed a young girl a piece of paper and said ‘draw a dress you’d want to own’-it’s really fun and big and i really love it for her
Some notes about Clay's design. It's not told well in the EN versions of the game, but he is Japanese (and that is also why his ancestor appears in Pokémon legends), and apparently he is based on the stereotype of Japanese people moving to other countries and trying to fit in. So his design/personality is actually Japanese office worker + plus person who is trying to look very American lol. It's pretty interesting.
Some lore: Lacey is clay's daughter. She even has an excadrill like her dad (as a fairy type specialist, she terastalizes it into a fairy type, giving it a cute fairy heart on its head). Drayton is drayden's grandson. For brycen, you're on the money. His purple & green look is him playing a supervillain terrorizing a carnival for a movie, which his robot look is him playing sort of an evil, gogogadget/RoboCop/doctor who kind of villain. Cyrano's scarf is a honedge, whose pokedex entries state that they only allow themselves to be wielded by nobility. So dude's more or less the dapper king of blueberry (fitting for the headmaster/financier). Perrin is the descendant of adaman from legends Arceus, hence the color matching. She's not so much a staff member but rather just someone who wants to take cool pictures of legendary pokemon.
A few folks have mentioned the Lacey/Clay part - but appreciate the new bits. I especially appreciate the Drayton/Drayden piece - because my instincts felt there was a connection.
I am really sorry to ‘uhm actually’ you but Brycen’s Robocop character is actually a hero/good guy, in the movie you act in in Pokestar studios you play as a supervillain ninja against him.
I feel like Cheren being kind of stripped down between installments makes sense from like a narrative character perspective, seeing as he's going from the more intense and versatile of the two rivals in BW1 to BW2, where he's a 1.) Normal-type, 2.) early game, 3.) brand new Gym Leader. On top of being in a position he hasn't quite found his footing in yet, he's running without all of his old tools from the first game, stripped down mechanically.
Unova to me really felt like the generation where Game Freak really developed their own style, especially when it came to human characters. We had some neat designs in earlier games too, but for the most part they were a lot more simple and grounded. Not bad by any means, but with a handful of exceptions it was a lot more of the kinds of clothes an ordinary person would wear either for that gym leader's work or everyday. Elesa might be the only model among the gym leaders here, but everyone's looking real nice :)
they really wanted us to leave old games behind and start fresh trying all the new mons. i think they did a great job of capturing american styles with the characters.
I love how the Unova region really has a lot of heart put into the people that live within the region. You can definitely tell that this was the moment where Nintendo and Gamefreak were really trying to make each region distinct and unique. Dont get me wrong I love the previous regions and all their games, but Unova really tried to tap into that New York city style. You can tell that each persons role fits within the city, with fashion designers, runway models, famous cooks, museum owners, and movie stars for gym leaders. Another thing that I think is kind of interesting is that Rosa is actually a lot more fashion appreciative, than one would think. Although she wears the typical girly trainer outfit, within the Masters EX mobile game, you have the ability to talk to some of the Pokemon Trainers one on one and a lot of Rosa's dialogue centers around, training Pokemon, wearing sporty clothing and "people who stand out". Not only that but she occasionally mentions how she wants to be an actor in Pokestar studios like Brycen. Another really great video! I can't wait to see what other Pokemon videos you have in the future!
Masters EX is a post-canon gacha game. I wouldn't trust anything on it. But I guess it's cool for people looking for new ideas/headcanons for characters they like.

At this point you need to start redesigning the ones you don't like! You have such a good fashion sense that I know you'd KILL with the designs! That's a video series I'd love to watch
I appreciate that. 🙏🏽 Practicing drawing/art isn't a top priority right now, and with folks still being shady toward AI, I'm gonna have to stick to shopping 😅🤷🏽♂️
Unova W once again. I agree with @CapnJigglypuff generally that I really like the way Cheren looks like he is trying to "look the part" of a gym leader by going for a more simplified, corporate casual look, but I understand where you're coming from too. I think the hair and the lack of glasses is throwing me off personally. Obviously glasses don't necessarily mean "older" (though worsening eyesight does correlate with age), but there's a reason they did it with Bianca. But for the hair, he looks more trimmed in his original design; I think if he had a more "corporate" hairstyle as well it might round out the look more, maybe? I'm not sure. Either way I get where you're coming from regardless, it is definitely a "regression" from a pure visual intrigue standpoint IMO. Love these as usual!
Thanks for sharing. Both looks are obviously fine - but gym leaders tend to be more natural as they are, so his original look would have suited just fine. Regardless of what he was fictionally trying to do ;)
I love that he looks kind of nervous, even blushing a bit because he's not yet used to being a gym leader. That alone ties the whole design together for me.
@@raccoonchild i’ve noticed this too! i like to point out how he commits the faux pas of mismatched shoes/belt in his gym leader look lol. goes to show how new and inexperienced he is in all of this (nervous demeanor/different clothes he’s not used to/bare-bones gym that hasn’t even been set up yet!) but he’s not letting that stop him from pursuing his growth and continuing his arc from the first bw games
Kaitlyn was in gen 4 as a leader of one of the battle castle but was not allowed to fight because when she fight her feelings would just burst and she would destroy everything with her psychic power and the time forward to gen 5 where she learned so much to control her emotion that she become a narcoleptic that always sleep and doesn't let anything escape except absolute boredom most of the time. Lacey is Clay's daughter which is why when your fight her while most of her pokemon are on the cute side and fairy her ace is an excadrill like her father. After you finish the round of pokemon character fashion by generation an interesting idea would be to take a look at some of the sygna suit that pokemon master have created which are suit stylised with the design of the pokemon given to his trainer at the same time (for exemple Cynthia got a dress design around Giratina or Giovanny a suit around Nidoking) which might be interesting.
It's crazy how many comfy pastel-ish 2-color combinations so many of the characters from Unova have! Orange+green on Bianca, teal+beige on Lenora, cyan+magenta on Roxie, honey+turquoise on Marshal, cream+pink on Iris, soft green+red on Burgh... all of these are soo refreshing without feeling like they're excessive or cartoony!
One thing I really like about Shauntal's design that you didn't touch on in the vid is how the ruff with the red clasp/button looks like a black cat, to connect more with the spooky, superstitious vibes of Ghost types without being overtly "creepy". She's also just very cute, one of my favorite designs in the whole region.
it's generally fandom opinion that we ignore the feet and tanline on marlon, it's just a better world when we pretend not to notice the unfortunate truth of the situation
@@abrawolfnot gonna lie, I tan like that! Clearly he’s been in the sun for a very long time so it’s not too crazy. I’m mixed so genetically my skin tone varies from very white to about Marlon’s shade if I’m in the sun for an entire summer
With all the leaks, we got a lot of behind-the-scenes info on various gym leaders. Like Lenore is mixed and British, Skyla is Latina and based on Jennifer Lopez, Iris is Middle Eastern/Egyptian (the document says Middle Eastern, but all the reference pics are of Egyptian clothing and jewelry), etc. I didn’t even think to look up Marlon though. Maybe we finally have some idea of what the devs were thinking with his design lol
Unova just has some of the coolest designs in all of Pokémon, I just love so many of these trainers! The MC's have such cool looks, almost all of the leaders have such cool looks, Elesa is my favorite there (BW 1 and 2 looks both just slay). Also wanna shout out N, who's one of my all time favorite Pokémon trainers, I think you had him in another video, though. But apart from just the designs, the games itself are the best imo, way more challenging than most other mainline games, best story and the soundtrack is such a banger! Team Plasma, Ghetsis and Elite 4 themes go insanely hard.
17:05 Caitlin does give off Fairy vibes, but the Fairy type wasn't added until the generation after Unova. I think she'd definitely have lots of Psychic/Fairy types though
Lol, I can't do a Pokemon video without people repeating requests for Masters EX. I recommend checking comments to see what others have already shared - yes, we'll get there eventually. Thank you in advance for the commentary on the contents of this video specifically.
Brycen is one of my favourite gym leaders! He is canonically an actor but had an accident so he decided to run a gym in the meanwhile to find his true self during B1W1 and went back to acting in B2W2. Brycen-Man is indeed a super villain and uses Dark type Pokémon in his feature film "Brycen-Man". The robocop costume comes from his other movie "Full Metal Cop" where he tries to capture the player who plays as a thief. He uses Steel and Bug Pokémon as the Full Metal Cop.
I think you made the right call with the new layout style. Other videos, it can be a little distracting with the 'greenscreen' shifts/glitches happening around you. The blend you have going in this looks great. Almost as good as you do. Love the type backgrounds for each character, as well as the side shifts. Great way to re-grab attention for people watching more passively.
Omg I think I found a new favourite channel. I have always been obsessed with the designs of human characters in pokemon, so you analysing them is so fun! Plus it really helps me for my own character designs!
( 16:00 ) It's funny that you noted Grimsley coloration is similar to Sharpedo, as he has plenty of ties to Sharpedo within the Pokemon franchise. The kimono ensemble that you reviewed is from the Alola Region. Some lore, Grimsley stepped down from the Elite 4 and took a vacation to Alola. He gives you a Sharpedo as a PokeRide pokemon to swim in the water, the replacement of HM mechanic in Alola. He also has a Sygna Suit outfit in Pokemon's gatcha mobile game, Pokemon Masters EX with Sharpedo and its Mega Evolution as his "sync pair". Sygna Suit Grimsley if you want to see the design, I personally think it's on par with his in-game outfits. He's kinda...kinda...🤭 Love this Unovan Style Analysis and this whole sires, the Big Apple region definitely has a handful of stellar designs!
@@Danikoshii Well that kinda ruins the naming gimmick of the three brothers. This new knowledge you've lodged into my brain will forever haunt me whenever I see actual cilantro now. (; _ ;)
I like that Pokémon try a lot to tell all their ideas throughout not only costume but super brief and expressive animations at the start of the battle. The way they move make even their clothing seem alive and part of their person, it's so wonderful. Loved your insights on all of them! Do you have other games (like ZZZ or something western) planned for the future or nothing yet?
I'm not big into fashion, and Unova isn't my favorite region. But, your voice is pleasant, and you do a good job at breaking down the fashion trends. Nice presentation and video breakdown.
Caitlin's backstory is that she's from Sinnoh and has latent psychic powers that she wasn't able to control at first. After traveling to Unova to train she was able to handle it, she became a strong enough trainer to reach E4 status. I do agree that aesthetically she fits the Fairy-type a lot more. I think her outfit is meant to resemble a satin bed robe, since she's always depicted as sleeping or yawning.
Wow I'm early. But something that I love about B&W 1 specifically was that they restricted the regional dex to exclusively Unova's 156 Pokemon. It almost felt like a soft reboot of the series. And you can see it with the designs of the trainers and gym leaders. Also something to note about Cheren, this is a direct sequel to B&W1 the only one in the series, and hes the first gym leader you come across in 2. What I love is Cheren's evolution from B&W1 into B&W2. Cheren looks like a confident and aspiring trainer in 1, he only wants to get stronger. But throughout the story of 1, N and Alder question Cheren's goal in becoming the "strongest" trainer. What does it mean? He questions it a lot but by the beginning of 2, it seems he's found his answer. He's the first gym leader, wanting to help new trainers become strong and leading them in the right direction. In a sense, he's become a teacher guiding new trainers on the right path which I believe reflects amazingly in B&W2.
Just found this video, and as a Pokémon I’m very interested in your sense of fashion after watching this to the end!!! In Pokémon Masters EX, EVERYONE gets more personality and you can definitely learn a lot about everyone in this video from it too!!! I’m taking a trip to Unova, Burge’s bug-types might actually be able to custom-made their own clothing for ‘mons as a whole(if they trained themselves properly, anyway)!!!
Also fun fact, if you look closely, you can see that Alder has multiple pokeballs on himself. Canonically, he just doesnt know how to use the PC Storage System, so he keeps all his pokemon on him haha
One thing I always like to notice with the Pokémon Trainer designs is how closely they might resemble their signature Pokémon, especially the gym leaders and elite four. e.g. Lenora stands upright and proud like a Watchog, Shauntal's neck is framed like a Cofagrigus, Marshall's stance and clothing emanates Sawk and Throh, Grimsley's spiked hair and colours complement Liepard very well (etc.)
Love this video!! And the ones before this, of course. these are fun and wonderful :> I hope you can get a look at the battle facility characters eventually (no pressure ofc) because I’m very interested on your opinions on those outfits.. (for no biased reasons. totally. I definitely am not obsessed with a couple of stupid battle facility leaders.)
I think Drayton's design really fits him as a laid back, chilling out type. He wears what he wants but still needs to stay in uniform? Just throw on the athlete shirt and call it a day. All the baggy loose clothes really fit the "this is the first thing i threw on this morning" vibes and i love it
I LOVE this whole concept of a video, especially as a Pokemon fan. First time watching, can't wait for more! Also, would you ever be open to covering fashion from Bleach? The creator Tite Kubo claimed he'd like to design fashion if he wasn't a manga creator, and I think his character design demonstrates that.
@@XDF Lol I saw it pop up not long after finishing your Pokemon Villains one. Didn't think I saw Bleach when scrolling your full video list but clearly I missed it! Anyway, poor Rukia, always obscured for some reason 😂
i would buy whatever pokemon was even if there was no pokemon and the product was only about people of couse x knows muhcmore tahn me but just seeing briar completely dazzles and inspires me like how come they put so much effort and reap that result so seemslessly you can see the pokemon art style doesnt even put more tahn one shine or more than one shadow for each color in anything and its still sp incredibly cool/cute/fashionable, perrin alone for example could dictate an entire series based off of her design alone, its the 9 installment and it feels like it only gets better/never even had to deviate much from 15 year old patterns and rules from older pokemon love these videos
My favorite sets of Pokemon games, especially with how interestingly designed the gym leaders and Elite Four are. While I understand why Lenora's apron was removed, her outfit now feels a little lacking. Although with how simply dressed she is now, she isn't out of place from other Normal-type specialists. Plus, like Hugh, her hairstyle does some lifting in making her distinct. And like you suggested in the comments I also think a coat would've been a good substitute for the apron, particularly an open beige lab coat given her work as an archeologist.
Do we have here the best dressed characters in Pokemon? Because I think all of them looks so good. Also, a lot of waifus!!! jajaja. Great video, maybe we will need a top 10 best outfits of Pokemon at the end of the year.
Surprised that I didn't see anyone else mention it, but a small note on Nate and Rosa is that the leggings that they are wearing is really just exposed portions of wetsuits! Part of what was added in Black 2 and White 2 were diving sections off the eastern coast of Unova where you could explore underwater ruins. I personally see their fashion as a shift towards more "all-environments" clothing. Utility without compromising style. In that way, I guess it's not too different than the shift in design that we see in Brendan and May going from Ruby and Sapphire into Emerald!
Hey, if you're down to video idea recomendations, I'd love to see a style analysys of 'Dorohedoro' or 'Revolutionary girl Utena' from you, these series have very differrent approach to fashion but I love both. Also, your videos are really helpfull with both character design and styling my own outfits, so thanks for that.
Im sure someone already mentioned this however just in case: The Red and Blue in Elesa's second outfit is meant to represent the Positive and Negative sides to a Charge....similar to the Pokemon Plusle and Minun two Electric type pokemon who are Red and Blue respectively :D and it could also be a SLIGHT nod to one of her own pokemon Flaaffy who has a Pink body with a Blue Orb on its tail Also totally understand the issue with the Fairy and psychic thing; HOWEVER I will point out these two Games came out the year BEFORE Fairy was introduced as a Type....so many people from the games before 2013 who are psychic type will have Pink or be wearing pink, since Pink = Fairy wasn't a thing yet :)
I noticed you mainly only showed the Bianca B2W2 look. Do you think we could see your opinion on them from BW1? They have a different style that fits their personality and story arc Her main arc is that she wants to be "grown up" and explore the world, despite her father's complaints against it. And i think her having a more conservatively-dressed, almost elderly-like clothing style mixed with her very young personality just makes it come together
Someone else pointed that out - I left some thoughts in the comments. She does look more mature in BW1, some cute elements for sure. But her BW2 outfit is more aligned with a city vibe and the player character/other rival styles.
If you had to throw together 1 fit to become a Gym Leader, just out of the items you have, how would it look like? And what type would you settle for? 😄
i love hearing about the fashion style choices and your opinions, but i'm curious if you could do a little more analysis on how that shapes their character. maybe pokemon is not the best franchise for that, but regardless been loving the content
The thing about Charen is that he was very closed off and cold as a rival. Throughout his journey with the player, he learned compassion and to quite literally open up to others more. When we meet him again, it’s only been two years, so he doesn’t have that much experience as a leader yet, which is why I believe his design is intentionally plain
I'm not surprised you missed it, but Caitlin actually has another appearance as the head of the Battle Castle in Generation IV. She has her valet battle on her behalf in that, which is why you probably didn't notice. And of course, she does pre-date Fairy type, hence the mixed aesthetic.

Maybe we finally have some idea of what the devs were thinking with his design lol
there is really something so special about the unova designs like the creativity was off the charts. like iris’s champion design is PERFECT 😩
So many great elements to this region
17:05 Caitlin does give off Fairy vibes, but the Fairy type wasn't added until the generation after Unova. I think she'd definitely have lots of Psychic/Fairy types though
Yeah - folks have pointed that out. Hard not to notice it in retrospect. But yes, she could totally be hybrid too
Lol, I can't do a Pokemon video without people repeating requests for Masters EX.
Such a cool story - thanks for sharing
I think you made the right call with the new layout style. Other videos, it can be a little distracting with the 'greenscreen' shifts/glitches happening around you. The blend you have going in this looks great. Almost as good as you do.
Love the type backgrounds for each character, as well as the side shifts. Great way to re-grab attention for people watching more passively.
Thanks for acknowledging that point and giving feedback. I'm glad the new format works! 🫶🏽
Random Fact: Drayden bought Iris her dress when she became champion.
Aww, such a gentleman! Love him for that
Omg I think I found a new favourite channel. I have always been obsessed with the designs of human characters in pokemon, so you analysing them is so fun! Plus it really helps me for my own character designs!
22:02 i believe he’s wearing the league club uniform tank top.
He is yeah
He's kinda...kinda...🤭
Love this Unovan Style Analysis and this whole sires, the Big Apple region definitely has a handful of stellar designs!
Interesting - nice to know what some leaders do after their gym days
6:06 "Does anybody else see that?" I didn't until you mentioned it, but now I can't unsee it, haha!
Love these! And I love that you love Burgh. So fun to hear your thoughts, as always!
Burgh is such a slay - glad you enjoyed the content :D
Drayden isn't just THE Zaddey vibe. He's THE Grandzaddey vibe 🥵😆
(6:30) Cilan as in cilantro. So probably not pronounced kil-an. :P
Chili as in chili pepper and Cress as in watercress.
Got it
It's actually Sai-Lan as confirmed in the BW anime
@@Danikoshii Well that kinda ruins the naming gimmick of the three brothers. This new knowledge you've lodged into my brain will forever haunt me whenever I see actual cilantro now. (; _ ;)
I like that Pokémon try a lot to tell all their ideas throughout not only costume but super brief and expressive animations at the start of the battle. The way they move make even their clothing seem alive and part of their person, it's so wonderful.
Loved your insights on all of them! Do you have other games (like ZZZ or something western) planned for the future or nothing yet?
Lots of great work put into the outfits - that's what makes them fun to review/analyze
This is genuinely so cool! Can't wait for the Sinnoh fashion one
Did you notice that Shauntal's shawl is the shape of a black cat head? I've always loved that detail on her!
I don't really see it - but someone else pointed that out. A cute conceptual touch for sure
I'm not big into fashion, and Unova isn't my favorite region. But, your voice is pleasant, and you do a good job at breaking down the fashion trends.
Nice presentation and video breakdown.
Great feedback to receive - thanks so much
Caitlin's backstory is that she's from Sinnoh and has latent psychic powers that she wasn't able to control at first. After traveling to Unova to train she was able to handle it, she became a strong enough trainer to reach E4 status. I do agree that aesthetically she fits the Fairy-type a lot more. I think her outfit is meant to resemble a satin bed robe, since she's always depicted as sleeping or yawning.
Thanks for the insight
This was such an awesome breakdown! Pokémon is long overdue for some fashion analysis 😏
Agreed - glad you enjoyed
lets gooooo i love the pokemon videos
Bless
I love these videos. I'm not well versed in fashion at all but I love hearing your detailed reviews on the character designs.
Thank you!
Interesting
@@XDF Yeah, not sure if it's obvious but i really love this generation
@@Kendrone I appreciate the passion
Just found this video, and as a Pokémon I’m very interested in your sense of fashion after watching this to the end!!!
In Pokémon Masters EX, EVERYONE gets more personality and you can definitely learn a lot about everyone in this video from it too!!!
I’m taking a trip to Unova, Burge’s bug-types might actually be able to custom-made their own clothing for ‘mons as a whole(if they trained themselves properly, anyway)!!!
Just now realising that Skyla's hair thing is probably supposed to look like a propeller which is fun cuz she's a pilot
Oh wow - thanks for calling that out. I couldn't find the words to make sense of it 👌🏽
this is quite literally everything i needed and more
Great video as always!
I appreciate that 🙏🏽
Also fun fact, if you look closely, you can see that Alder has multiple pokeballs on himself. Canonically, he just doesnt know how to use the PC Storage System, so he keeps all his pokemon on him haha
Oh, that's interesting. Thanks for the insight.
I look forward to learning about fashion :)
Awesome 🙌🏽
Ok, now I'm fully expecting a Cyrano cosplay. The people NEED IT!!
Maybe one day - you never know 😌
Gen 5 went hard. Fr when Pokémon started to really do something with the gym leaders
The gym leaders are a big part of why I love Pokemon - and B&W delivered!
Love this video!! And the ones before this, of course. these are fun and wonderful :>
I hope you can get a look at the battle facility characters eventually (no pressure ofc) because I’m very interested on your opinions on those outfits.. (for no biased reasons. totally. I definitely am not obsessed with a couple of stupid battle facility leaders.)
Thank you
This has convinced me to be a Pokémon trainer for Halloween.
Lots of options to choose from
Your fashion slays so hard 👀 I suck at giving my characters clothes, especially male characters, so I might yoink a few things if you don’t mind
Thank you - go for it!
This is the video I didn't know I needed
I think Drayton's design really fits him as a laid back, chilling out type. He wears what he wants but still needs to stay in uniform? Just throw on the athlete shirt and call it a day. All the baggy loose clothes really fit the "this is the first thing i threw on this morning" vibes and i love it
The auxiliary cords on elesa's initial outfit are actually part of her headphones
Ok
I LOVE this whole concept of a video, especially as a Pokemon fan. First time watching, can't wait for more!
Also, would you ever be open to covering fashion from Bleach? The creator Tite Kubo claimed he'd like to design fashion if he wasn't a manga creator, and I think his character design demonstrates that.
Thank you.
I always recommend checking a channel to see what folks have covered. Bleach is one of my top videos.
@@XDF Lol I saw it pop up not long after finishing your Pokemon Villains one. Didn't think I saw Bleach when scrolling your full video list but clearly I missed it!
Anyway, poor Rukia, always obscured for some reason 😂
@@drumbarpuncture the algo must have heard you 😉 thanks for checking it out
i would buy whatever pokemon was even if there was no pokemon and the product was only about people
of couse x knows muhcmore tahn me but just seeing briar completely dazzles and inspires me like how come they put so much effort and reap that result so seemslessly
you can see the pokemon art style doesnt even put more tahn one shine or more than one shadow for each color in anything and its still sp incredibly cool/cute/fashionable, perrin alone for example could dictate an entire series based off of her design alone, its the 9 installment and it feels like it only gets better/never even had to deviate much from 15 year old patterns and rules from older pokemon
love these videos
My favorite sets of Pokemon games, especially with how interestingly designed the gym leaders and Elite Four are. While I understand why Lenora's apron was removed, her outfit now feels a little lacking. Although with how simply dressed she is now, she isn't out of place from other Normal-type specialists. Plus, like Hugh, her hairstyle does some lifting in making her distinct. And like you suggested in the comments I also think a coat would've been a good substitute for the apron, particularly an open beige lab coat given her work as an archeologist.
I would like to add that Alder's hair is fashioned after his ace Pokemon Volcarona.
I can definitely see that
i looove bianca's design, i think im just a sucker for a fun hat tbh
Really hoped to hear your thoughts on Ingo and Emmet of the battle subway.
They have cool outfits - classic and steampunkish
Do we have here the best dressed characters in Pokemon? Because I think all of them looks so good. Also, a lot of waifus!!! jajaja.
Great video, maybe we will need a top 10 best outfits of Pokemon at the end of the year.
This region easily has some of the top best dressed characters for sure!
Caitlin existed before Fairy type so the design themes were a little more free and leaning to psychic before fairy was released.
This has been shared before - ty
I do like that when he's younger they insinuated a Tie with the pattern on Cherens top and now that he's a gym leader he wears an actual Tie.
It's a good design connection
Given X and Y are the games which introduced player outfits, I think that'd be something you could do for a video if you haven't already.
Someone else probably said it already but Nate actually wears a bodysuit beneath his other clothes not just leggings!
Ok
I’ve always loved his wetsuit I feel like it makes him stand out a little from other protags
Someone mentioned this, thanks for sharing
I enjoy a lot ur videos, great job from morocco :)
Thank you
Burgh is an artist so naturally hed be very stylish!
Brycen has a career as an actor so ofc he'd have a lot of style and different outfits :)
wish you showed the pokemon studios outfits for nate and rosa!! the princess dress has been engrained in my mind since i was a kid
I don't like either of those looks unfortunately
Hey, if you're down to video idea recomendations, I'd love to see a style analysys of 'Dorohedoro' or 'Revolutionary girl Utena' from you, these series have very differrent approach to fashion but I love both. Also, your videos are really helpfull with both character design and styling my own outfits, so thanks for that.
Can’t wait for a best/all stars video because who can top Elesa’s BW2 styling?
I wouldn't get my hopes too high on that one 😉
I never even realized Lenorah had an apron. She looks cooler when she isnt wearing it; it kind of looks more like a coat.
I agree - I honestly wish it was a coat instead
i noticed for the first time that marshal has teeth protection, that makes perfect sense!
Im sure someone already mentioned this however just in case: The Red and Blue in Elesa's second outfit is meant to represent the Positive and Negative sides to a Charge....similar to the Pokemon Plusle and Minun two Electric type pokemon who are Red and Blue respectively :D and it could also be a SLIGHT nod to one of her own pokemon Flaaffy who has a Pink body with a Blue Orb on its tail
Also totally understand the issue with the Fairy and psychic thing; HOWEVER I will point out these two Games came out the year BEFORE Fairy was introduced as a Type....so many people from the games before 2013 who are psychic type will have Pink or be wearing pink, since Pink = Fairy wasn't a thing yet :)
I noticed you mainly only showed the Bianca B2W2 look. Do you think we could see your opinion on them from BW1? They have a different style that fits their personality and story arc
Her main arc is that she wants to be "grown up" and explore the world, despite her father's complaints against it.
Ahhh I see. I do think her B2W2 design is better, I do agree. It's the definitive Bianca design.
If you had to throw together 1 fit to become a Gym Leader, just out of the items you have, how would it look like? And what type would you settle for? 😄
My childhood game ❤❤❤
My favourite are Elesa, Nate and Rosa trainer outfit, and the veteran duo fashion so far.
Veteran duo is the black hat black coat adults. They look so cool. ✨
If you look like Drayden I am available 24/7 and will gladly make you feel like the man you are 😌
i love hearing about the fashion style choices and your opinions, but i'm curious if you could do a little more analysis on how that shapes their character. maybe pokemon is not the best franchise for that, but regardless been loving the content
Thanks for the feedback - I don't think Pokemon is the best franchise for that.
Most of these characters have like 10 lines of dialogue lol
The thing about Charen is that he was very closed off and cold as a rival. Throughout his journey with the player, he learned compassion and to quite literally open up to others more.
When we meet him again, it’s only been two years, so he doesn’t have that much experience as a leader yet, which is why I believe his design is intentionally plain
By the way, the video is great! 😊
The focus from folks on Cheren is surprising, but thanks for sharing.
Fun fact about shauntal her collar is also the head of a black cat with the clasp being the nose
Omg - that's even more cute. I love her design 🖤
16:02 in pokemon sun and moon, grimsley gives you a sharpedo to ride on
Love that
I think Amarys dyed her hair as a call to steel types but also either twists it or braids it making it look like a metal coil or cable.
Such an effective motif
