I learn SO much from your tutorials! I’m new to both the Instant Pot and air fryers and as a long time, die hard traditional cook…the learning curve has been steep. You’re making this transition much easier. Thank you!
I have a 3.6 qt fryer and love it, but I’m just cooking for one.
Could you do a video about cooking from frozen in the air fryer? I usually get frozen vegetables because they are cheaper and don’t go bad (important when living alone). I’d love some recipes for that.
Lisa, love your channel. We have a Gourmia 6 quart (5.7L) air fryer. Here in the UK, energy bills are rising steeply, so we use our AF virtually every day. As many buyers don't persevere, AFs appear on eBay, etc. at low prices, and soon pay for themselves in saved electricity. Great for breaded scampi, fish fingers (fish sticks), halloumi fries... Yum! _Lisa, a plea-could you consider quoting temperatures in °C too? Nearly all we non-Americans use Celsius nowadays._
I have a Ninja Foodi 9 in 1 and I use the Air Fryer setting most, I got it for Christmas 2021 and I use it nearly every day of the week. Great tips, thanks for sharing 😃
That Ninja is the BEST! The grill option is even better for steak, chops, chicken any meat for sure.
What many people doesn’t realize is that an air fryer is nothing more than a more efficient or at least less messy convection oven. In that way, you can think in many things you can bake, roast or ovenfry in them
I was wondering what the advantage of an electric air fryer over a convection gas oven is. I understand that a small kitchen might heat more with the oven, but I don't like buying multiple small appliances if my existing equipment will do.
@@gpalmerify this is true, IF you use your existing equipment. The air fryer is usually smaller and often faster than a convection oven that is part of your kitchen stove. Being small it heats up fast and makes it easy to throw in a frozen burrito or some fries that you probably wouldn’t do in your larger oven. So it comes down to convenience. Like you, I don’t like to have lots of different appliances, but have found my air fryer has earned a permanent place on my counter along with the microwave. If you are already comfortable making small batches in you convection oven, that’s great and no need for a separate air fryer.
@@gigihenderson8567 I like that answer, thank you. Absolutely agree about the ease of use point (especially for small batch cooking). Personally, I don't convection cook as much as I could due to not having a memorized set of favorites. With the small appliances, there are automatic settings and cook books that come with them. I know my use of pressure cookers was low until I found some easy references. Think I'll take a look for a handy reference for convection cooking!
well...I have so many kitchen gadgets that I use...I didn't think I needed an Air-Fryer...but because of your enthusiasm of all the things you make with it... I just may buy the one you suggested
I had the same attitude. I got a cheap air fryer as a gift from work, and it really was a game changer. I upgraded to a Cosori Dual Blaze that has an element on the bottom as well as the top. I’ve been baking in my machine! Quick drop biscuits, brownies, etc. yummy. But these all sound great.
And you will not be disappointed.
Good thing I got the instant pot - air fryer combo I guess 😁
I recently bought the 8ltr Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer when my Pressure King Pro packed in and I love it,best of both world with pressure cooking and air frying,I hardly ever use my oven or combi oven anymore, love your videos, sometimes the ingredients you use are named differently over here in Scotland but not too difficult to find an equivalent, having fun checking out your back catalogue of recipes and tips
Happy Sunday!! Thanks for all the tips. I do love my air fryer💛😻
Thanks so much I will give it a try
I dont see a link for the Vortex Plus...I'd rather give you the extra bucks off the sale since it was you that convinced me to purchased
Great video. Thank you!
You came up on my recommended videos. Your recipes look fantastic! Thank you so much! Of course, I subbed!
Great video now I will really enjoy cooking some of my favorites
Thank you so much!
Loved the video. Your channel is so pleasant.
Great video! I found that if I place meat like steak or chops on one of the metal racks that come with the vortex, it raises the meat closer to the heat to get more browning. More air fryer videos please!
STEAK I cut it in 1 inch pieces season all around. Air fry . I call them steak bites. So so good! only takes about 7 mins to cook. You can make pork bites and chicken bites.
Just picked up a Ninja Air fryer today. One on the small size as I am cooking for just myself. First thing I tried was french fries. Excited to learn what I can use it for the rest of the week!
Hi Lisa, love your videos! Just curious, what does your husband cook in the air fryer? The only appliance my husband uses is the microwave 😔
Deep cleaning is my issue with air fryers. After multiple uses, the grease accumulates on the heating element. Wiping often doesn't take care of crevices. Is there a brand that is easy to dismantle and deep clean??
BTW, I already have the IP Air Fryer Lid, so I might trade it for something else.
That was why I didn't use that kind of airfryer anymore. Now I'm using the oven airfryer because much more easier to clean.
@@donnarivas6150 Exactly - I have a convection oven that I use at home but when i travel with my IP and lid, it can get nasty if i cook heavily greasy foods, like bacon or steak.
I am ordering the vortex plus 6 quart air fryer you recommend. Do you recommend parchment liners? Any dimensions of liners you recommend? Have you used the dehydrate feature? Love your videos
Re: bacon, the grease does get on the heating element and thus, requires cleaning.
Very useful video thank you. I am 81, a reasonable cook, but new to air fryers and Instant pot, although I do have an old pressure cooker. As a newbie wanting to upgrade, but not both at once, which would you go for first?
@Bill Wileman
Hi Bill. I'm not Lisa, of course, and you didn't ask for my opinion, but I thought I'd share my experience.
I definitely use my Instant Pot more than my Air Fryer. Both are wonderful to have for different reasons.
One thing that you can can do to help decide is to look up Instant Pot/Air Fryer recipes for some of your most favorite things to eat (and cook).
It will all seem foreign and/or wrong at first, but by imagining (or seeing on YT videos) which recipes that you think you might enjoy making the most (or at least would be easiest to make, lol) you can maybe choose which upgrade you might want first.
So, this is just my two cents. Be safe and be well, my friend. ~Peace!
How do you get rid of the chemical odor? I bought the I.P. vortex plus 6 qt. It was great. Sold it to a friend since I wanted 4qt to save counter space. The 4 qt vortex plus won't crisp, food doesn't cook evenly and the chemical odor permeates food and the house. I have run it while empty several times. With bowls of lemon juice, vinegar. Wash the basket with Dawn. Wiped out the inside. Nothing helps.
i love my air fryer ninja food 6 in 1 10qt XL 2 basket with DualZone Technology is the best air fryer
Will you come out with an air fryer cookbook soon?
How do I cook a pork loin
My air fryer looks like a toaster oven. Shaking food isn’t as easy as the basket type. I really like it, but find that not being able to shake food is a downside. Just food for thought for someone thinking of purchasing an air fryer.
“Shaking” mostly is a word substitute for turning it over to cook the other side, because of the heating element that browns the top of the food. So in your fryer, you could just get tongs and turn the food
Why preheat the air fryer, when you then remove the drawer and add your food and seasoning and the internal temperature of the fryer is dropping.
Although you are letting the heat out when you open it to put the food in, both the basket and the heating element are at temp, so it can quickly get back up to the desired heat. This can be important with things you want crispy, especially frozen foods that have a batter coating, (fish sticks, some fries, etc). If you put into a cold appliance, the food can thaw and potentially make the item soggy. Baked goods also should be put into a preheated appliance, to give it the “oven spring”.
@@gigihenderson8567 I have never experienced any of those things you state, these are just things that cooks say to justify their actions
I just got a new Ninja Airfryer. I made the most of my foods by it. I always used 400°. I RECOMMEND if your family has 3-4 people should get 6qts and square dra. Because the square draw has more room than the round one. Even they are both the same qt.
Completely agree. My first one was a 4qt round and felt really small. My new one is square and feels so much roomier.
@@gigihenderson8567 The new Ninja I just got is oven airfryer. It is very easy to clean. I always clean after I used it. My previous by the draws. The draw was easy to clean. but the top part near the motor was not easy to clean at all. It was very dirty because the fat build-up days to days. Finally I have to through it away.
I want the chickpea recipe. I’m trying to skip the chips. Another great video☺️
