    During the last week- Wednesday to Sunday, I repaired the front headlight adjusters, replaced the left front wing, replaced the chrome trims of the bumper cover and put it all back in place... I would only have one thing I learned: when putting back the bumper cover, I found it useful to loosen - just a bit - the plastic pieces ("tags and slots") that are attached to the front side wings to ease the bumper cover back in place, and tighten the plastic parts back in place with a spanner once the bumper cover is back on. Otherwise, I wanted to say that of all x-type front bumper RUclips tutorials, yours is absolutely the most useful, the most explanatory, and shortly - the best! Thank you so much sir for making it possible! Cheers from Slovenia!

    What do I do if I stripped the T30 screws?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад +1

      You will need to get them out and replace the clips and bolts which may prove difficult if they are locked in or spinning around. If they spin the clip may have damaged the surounding material so is to be avoided. Soaking with penatrating fluid helps. If you can't get to hold the clip on the back, drilling or grinding out the head will probably be the best option.

      Yes I guess i’ll have to investigate it over the weekend. One of the jet washers got inside the bumper and I am not being able to pull up without removing the bumper. I also have two parking sensors not working.
      Just bought a ser of driver 🔧 for the job! Thanks for the video, very straight forward.

    • @HatBoyHarvey

      If you have still got some of the bolt shaft left and can get purchase on it try soaking it overnight with penetrating fluid and use mole-grips or failing that use a bolt extractor or drill it out and then re-tap to clean the thread out (not an easy task, but at least it is easy to get at :-)

    I don't understand why some say that this isn't an easy work to remove that bumper. Can't see anything difficult or time-consuming in this video. What could be the reason?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  4 месяца назад

      Getting to that bolt under the wheel arch can be tricky, especially if it is rusty :-)

    • @ThomSteel
      @ThomSteel 4 месяца назад +1

      @@HatBoyHarvey Ah okay, thanks for the response. But otherwise how much time would you consider for a shop to replace a headlight? From the video it looks like less than an hour.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  4 месяца назад

      Thanks for reminding me, I have just done that, but not yet compiled the video, should out soon. Easier job with bumper off, but can be done without. It is tight on drivers side and near impossible with big hands on the other without removing the battery + holder. Took me 2 hours, but that included filming and polishing the headlight covers :-)

    • @ThomSteel
      @ThomSteel 4 месяца назад

      @Harvey You can take off the headlights (I don't mean replacing the bulbs) without removing the bumper? I thought the bumper was over the headlights, so they won't come out without removing the bumper.
      At least I won't have to remove the covers of the headlight washer jets because they have already fallen off and never been replaced ;-)
