    In this video I show you the simplest and easiest way of removing radiator on Jaguar X-type 2.1 V6. Surely, this process doesn't differ from Jaguar X type 2.5 or 3.0 radiator removal.
    During the repairs I didn't mean to remove any extra parts from my car, only the necessary ones: I removed the battery to get access to Jaguar X-type upper radiator hose, I unscrewed the 8 bolts of the crossbeam under the radiator, removed some plastic parts of the bumper cover to get access to the bolts attaching the air-conditioning radiator to the main one. I fastened the fan assembly and conditioner radiator with an old wire to the body of the car to prevent them from falling down and damaging some wiring. After that I easily lowered the main radiator and took it out from under the front bumper. The Jaguar X-type radiator replacement is done.

    I'm about to tackle this job & have watched and read lots. Everyone talks about removing the bumper etc, but your method seems so much simpler!! I might remove the air cleaner assembly though. Thanks heaps for this video, a BIG 👍

    Thanks for this instruction, great job. On installing the new radiator, it's important to slide the radiator up and align the fan assembly support posts into the catches on the radiator. Also, aligning the AC condenser to re-attach the 8mm support bolts was tricky.
    I used rope to suspend the new radiator in place, while underneath the car I brought the cross member support into position and fastened it into place; then releasing the radiator rest on the cross member. Similar to tying up the fan assy and the AC condenser, for removal.
    Anyway, thanks again, Roman!

    Good video and thanks for the instructions! It helped me a lot. Today I replaced the altenator/generator on my Jaguar x-type with a v6 petrol engine. I did this without removing the A/C compressor but with the complete removal of the radiator. I did this so I didn't have to discharge and charge the A/C system. Once the radiator is removed you can acces the alternator quite easily from the front side of the car. Hope this helps!

      I am happy my video helped you. Many cheers! As for the alternator removal, I removed it twice without disconnecting the AC compressor (just drawing it aside) and without removing the radiator. I often read in comments that it is impossible on V6 engine. But I assure you it is a bit tricky, still possible. I will surely shoot a video about Jaguar X-type alternator removing maybe in summer. So remember to hit the bell! Good luck!

    Thanks a lot for this video, it seems to be pretty easy. I read the workshop manual and it says you should remove the front bumper, airco lines en power steering lines.... but you do the job without all that extra work. Great!

    • @jaguarrroman
      @jaguarrroman  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for your comment. I am glad that my experience is useful to other X-typers. Sometimes I also read X-type workshop manual, just for pleasure, to understand how it is designed to be repaired. I always owned stylish cars that were difficult to repair, but I always tried and repaired them easily, using minimal tools. As for the X-type, I've removed alternator without removing radiator, fuel pump without fuel tank, front suspension arm without front subframe, roof lining without windshield. I will surely publish some of the above mentioned cases on my channel, but not all of them, of course. Subscribe and stay updated!

      @@jaguarrroman I ordered a new radiator, so next week I'll give it a go with this video in mind. Sounds familiar, before I start a repair I also think it over and try the easiest way without removing too many parts or using excessive force. I've subscribed, good hints are always welcome.

    • @jaguarrroman
      @jaguarrroman  3 года назад +1

      Good luck! As for the hints, before removing the hoses don't forget to drain the coolant, so that not to flood the engine bay. And one more: before detaching the main radiator from the air condition radiator and the set of fans, don't forget to maximally loosen the bolts securing the cross bar so that to give the radiator set more space to be moved and detached from one another. When I unscrewed the bolts for the first time, I had to grease them from inside with some thin oil (WD-40) beforehand. It's good time for you to grease them too. If any questions occur, you are welcome.

    great vid so far but i can't figure out how to separate ac cooler from the radiator. or the fans from the radiator.
    edit. figured out the ac cooler. i had removed the wrong two bolts. the brackets that hold the ac cooler need to be removed at the radiator posts. it's not obvious. don't remove the bolts that are directly fastened to the ac cooler

    • @jaguarrroman
      @jaguarrroman  2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment. As for the ac cooler, I moved it first aside, then upwards, the radiator set can be moved directly upwards. The 2 bolts are securing the steering fluid cooler at the bottom end. If you have some doubts, its better consult a skilled technician.

    If you can make a video on how to reinstall the backseat I’ve been having a heckuva time doing that after I replaced my fuel pump.

    • @jaguarrroman
      @jaguarrroman  3 года назад

      It's very easy, I explain it in the end of the video about fuel pump. You just press the seat backward and then down so that to hook it. After that just press the front end down to clip it. The same on the other side of the car.

If you are interested about starting Jag's motor, you can see it in the end of spark plugs changing video on my channel, it is 100% the same as starting motor after installing a radiator. If you mean a hup-hup-hup sound, it is a well-known bug of this engine. Just check the intake manifold seal rings, all 6 upper and 6 lower seal rings should be new or in a good condition.
