This is what I've been telling everyone - the game has all this content, but somehow none of it feels tedious. It's a Three Houses length game with none of the meandering.
This game has a hold on me like I haven't felt in a long time, the gameplay is so unique, deep and well thought out it just keeps your mind racing with all the possibilities. The game is packed full of content but never feels tedious. There's a ton of information but it teaches you at a perfect pace, while always feeling like there's more to learn. Art is beautiful, voice acting is great, creativity is just bursting out of all parts. A complete slam dunk.
Game is sold out literally everywhere, I had the monarch edition preordered (which arrived), I thought it was going to be late (since Amazon lol), so I bought it digitally. Monarch edition arrived on time, but the GameStop copy arrived 2 weeks after release TODAY as I already have 80 hours and just rolled credits on the game. I will be astounded if this game has not sold well.
Such a good game! You’re right that some elements of story and character are “simplistic” but the moment you moment combat, especially as you get access to more unit types and itemization and promoting units… it’s gets wacky, and is quite challenging on Expert difficulty
instant strategy rpg classic. Story is the weakest to me personally but doesn't ruin everything else the game has to offer. Wish I could play it on my steam deck though...
@@johnm7491 I compare this game to other RTS that I have played like Starcraft or Age of Empires. And yes it sucks. In fact, it sucks very hard from RTS standpoint. And as RPG elements, you cant choose your character's progression, everything seems super linear aside from choosing a few dialogue options, so there is no real role playing figure here. This game is not even an RPG from that perspective. And what else? Story, yeah story sucks I guess everyone would agree that. Music is the only good thing about it. Difficulty is not well set, I have played 20 hours so far but I have not repeated one single fight. (3rd difficulty). All in all its very boring.
@@LAMERFENERsorry to tell you this but you are wrong have you actually played ogre battle? The game that unicorn overlord take inspiration off? Ofc you don't because is not like age of empier or starcraft level but again is still real time strategy Ofc you can choos eyour character's progression since A. You are not rescricted to one path B. You can choose your stat growth And wdym there is no role play element? Is not dnd, the game is an simple yet interesting storytelling and it works Wdym by everyone agree on that? Nobody agree with "story sucks" because the syory is not that bad, is not a masterpiece but is still a well told story if you actually palyed the whole chapters, drakenhold probably the best section of the game, elhime revealed tons of stuff about zenoria, bastorias was still fun to explore, even albion was a treat to look at And difficulty does not matter? People can paly whatever they wish, is up to each player if something is "to easy" or "to hard" and there is also true zenoria

Love the game, bro. Over 50 hours in. Cornia cept for the capital, and Drakenhold done. Elf land up next. :))

Your story is hilarious to me because I did the exact same thing, the demo made me put down FF7R and I been playing unicorn overlord.

more like unicorn MID
this game sucks.
Ah mate, you have to elaborate. I've so far not come across any issues with this game, it's ticked a tonne of boxes for me.
Skill issue. Go back to Fortnite.
