Hey everyone! Some time has passed since I made my last update video, and I want to thank you so much for all the support you have given me after that. While I am still far from recovered, I am feeling so much better now, it is going in the right direction. Between all hospital visits and everything else, I have manage to finally finish up a video I wanted to give you weeks ago. This is probably far from my best work, as I've been forced to create it so sporadically and with much less energy than usual. I am not recovered enough to start posting weekly content again, but I love creating these videos for you so much they will come as often as I can put them out :) Please enjoy this video about Rhok'Delar and Lok'Delar, (again) despite its probably not my best work. And above all, thank you everyone for your support during this period!
If you check marksman artifact skins on wowhead, you'll see the next skin very much taken inspiration from Rhok'delar. www.wowhead.com/artifact-calc/hunter/marksmanship/AraTI3A
Ancient 1: And here is your epic staff, to go with your new shinny bow! Hunter: But is broken... Ancient 2: Bring me the ancient duct tape ! Hunter: Thank you! This is truly... the staff of legends!
Gmoney Mozart look at the brinht side! Not many people will waste their time with stuff like this. Yeah, if you enjoy it, it's not wasted but now you'd have more time for other stuff :3
+filip petrina honestly, I don't think it was standardized as WoW was&is the "standard." In my own perspective, I feel that as they made everything more accessible they also took away the fun; now-a-days you can get everything in the game you want with little to no challenge, I still remember grinding non-stop for months to be the first Grand Marshal on my server (vek'nilash) during vanilla.. nothing like that anymore, no challenge or unique feels to be found
@Frost Angel what do you mean by "waste"??? Stuff like this makes the game unique and interesting. WoW changed from fun game for truly dedicated players to mindless grinding for everyone... and that is sad.
kolozubix99 I guesss ur right... It's just this was addicting while grinding is meh. Everyone would like to do those vanilla quests that have challenge, but it'll take you A LOT. While grinding is like meh and not many ppl focus on it as intensly. For me, I ofc would like stuff like this, but I also have school etc. and many people as well; but you don't know the bounderues here
You will be missed Hayven. I found out about your death and even I didn't know you in person, I feel extremely sad. The fact that you were only 26 and the bravery you fought with cancer, touched deeply. Rest in Peace
Your work is truly unparalleled. Dedication you put into creating videos is absolutely fantastic. I follow you for years now, and I always think that this deserves more visibility channel, because you're really a professional.
I just heard the news, I prayed it wouldn't end like this. But I hope he passed painlessly. I'll always remember and miss Hayven, just as I will miss all of you in our small community. Thank you, everyone, for everything. Rest in peace, Hayven, you'll always be in our hearts.
Every time I see a new video here, I feel like a lvl 1 undead; walking up to a legendary hero and sitting down to hear the tales of warcraft days. Even from vanilla there's much to learn and every time there's something exciting or new. @Hayven Games , you are awesome!
5:38 AHA! that explains it! when I was leveling warlock in wrath of the lich king I had the "sence demons" active and it was showing her on the map. I was just calmly leveling and then I noticed it and froze on place, I was just staring at her and wondering if something will happen if I get too close :D for such a little kiddo I was it was a fucking horror man :DDD
Well, I found your channel today and also learned you are no longer with us. I really appreciated the time and dedication you did to this series, and wish you could have done more. At any rate, thank you for all that you've given to this community. Rest in piece my man.
today not all hunters are huntards to be honest, most times a mage or rogue pull trash without tank wipe the group and would blame me and kicked me out of instance for no reason or at least attempt to, assholes are just everywhere
The mistery of the petrified leaf quest i think is something that was at the core of the old wow experience, and made your quest a travel trough azeroth!
RIP Hayven... Truly, these videos are invaluable memories May your toon find his rightful place among the Paragons. /salute from this BE Prot Pally, my friend.
Glad to see you again! Thanks for your work and dedication and I promise that I,and many others will always be with you.I am glad I can support someone as great as you.Once again, thank you!
Oh yess! I was so happy to see this video posted. And about the two weapons that confounded my huntard ass when they were relevant. I eventually got em after TBC made me overpowered for the quest. I'm glad I have them, even if I had to cheese it. I just realized I still have my sinew-wrapped lamina in my bag still. I can't bring myself to throw it (or the staff and bow) away.
Great vid! As someone trying to do that quest on Anathema right now, I can assure you that it's an insanely difficult challenge. Easily the hardest thing hunters ever have to do. Things like kiting Razorgore are laughably easy compared to this quest.
I'm still kicking myself for not completing this on my hunter even though I got halfway through the quest chain. And then it was gone. Thank you for the fantastic overview, this was really nostalgic. :)
Whenever i watch this channel, i get this crazy vibe lol the content seems so well put together and fits well with the music.. these are the unsung heroes of youtube
Hi Hayven, thanks for the great videos in Items lost to history. One small correction. When fighting the demons you say that pets were not allowed, and this is true expect for simone in Un'goro, who also used a per for her own and therefore the hunter was also allowed to use his own.
The most nostalgic thing about this video for me is the teldrassil music. My very first character in late 'nilla was a Night Elf Druid that I still play today :).
This was really interesting to see. If there are any more weapons like Rhok'delar and Benediction, etc, please cover them. I had no idea there was anything like this!
Amazing material, as always. Hope you are feeling better and you will recover fully asap. Love every single of your videos. Keep it up but dont make it hard on yourself. Health is more important than anything!
First of all: I hope you're feeling better! You are one of my favorite RUclipsrs and it really pains me to know that you have cancer! Second of all: 2:24 Weren't they petrified during the Third War? I mean that's when the Legion corrupted Felwood!
Thank you! I am still not well but compared to when I made my last update video I have recovered immensely. And the articles I read during my research all stated that they were destroyed during the war off the ancients, and Vartus even quotes "We are Ancients: Protectors of this once great forest. Our physical forms were destroyed 10,000 years ago". Whether or not this is a gap in Blizzard's lore or not I don't know but I went with the info I found during research.
Watching your videos really improves my point that wow is way more than it looks. So sorry that i never played it back then. And PS just found your channel and subscribed and found out that the creator has passed away. Rest in Peace you should be proud of your content.
I love the shot of your character behind the desk! :D And there are so many of these epic quests I had no idea existed, it's so great learning about them! I always wondered what the purpose of those ancients in Felwood was!
This chain.. This chain right here My most loved and hated chain in WoW, the camping for the demons to spawn the difficulty of the fights where one miss step usually meant death. Where troll or innocent "helpers" would come along and mess it all up and you'd have to wait 4 hours before they'd respawn. But the elation you felt once you'd downed each one the pride you felt the cheering from your guildmates. Then walking around with the bow or staff (then both) proving to everyone you weren't just another huntard. Even when better weapons came along this was the weapon you'd walk around town with
A few things missed by this video. Originally the mature black dragon sinew was Onyxia only, then they added nefarian, then they added the option for it to come from world black dragons. Rhok'delar has received more than 1 art update over the years. AT some point it gained an animation where flowers and mushrooms will spout on it. It also gained a magical sort of vine affect when shooting arrows much later. Lhok'delar was likely a placeholder model that was never updated to be what was envisioned by the artists (A staff that transformed into a bow.) However, the is another staff in the game for druids that was likely going to be what lok'delar was intended to look like. (staff of the green circle uses the model and that model reuses assets from rhok'delar.)
I love these kinds of videos, I'm not too familiar with Vanilla as I played only when I was really young, but you should really do more videos like this! I hope that there are items like these for Rogues (back then) that you could make videos about lol.
Great video as always Hayven hope you're on the mend! Also I would just like to say these videos show me exactly the type of game design that is missing from modern WoW.
I have done this quest back in classis and to date it is one of my most favorite memories of my gaming experience EVER. I also sold the demonkills (especially silithus one as hunters had trouble with that one) to other hunters for gold and got my epic mount doing so. :D If only WoW would've continued making quests and content at that level, I would've been playing WoW still.
Ahh the Flowery Bow of Awesome and the Hastily Repaired Broomstick... I still have my bow and quiver, and I am super proud of them :) The questline was amazing, the skill level needed for the bosses quite insane. I might sound like one of 'those' people but Vanilla WoW are still the best memories for me.
I got so mad when alterac came out and you could just buy a quiver with the same stats for 15g.... I sment months in winterspring farming blue dragons. good times xD
I was so close to getting the weapon but since I started playing the game 1/2 into LK. I didnt know about the Hunter quest till close to the end. I also like the fact that the quiver one of the few bags that can be seen on the players
And yet they've kept mounts that used to be so rare in the day, but now you can easily obtain them because the mobs that drop them are so much easier. Like the bosses in raid mount achievements. Don't see those removed. Blizzard even said they wouldn't do that again after they took out the Nax raid achievement mounts.
+KiyokaMakibi The Naxx achievements for mounts ? There were no suchachievementsto my knowledge. Nax had some achievements for titles though ("The Immortal" for exemple). Maybe you're mistaking that the Ulduar achievements to get the Black/Plagued Proto Drake.
***** I'm sorry ; You are right ! That's interesting, since I always thought it was a reward for doing all Ulduar 25 achievements in the very first weeks after it came out. But yes, apparently, these are rewards for Naxx, Malygos and sartha achievements. Thanks !
I still have my Rhok N Lok. I cheesed the Silithus and WS portions a bit. In Silithus, I had a shammy and spriest in my party who kept me topped by killing local mobs that WEREN'T my demons. In WS, they just kept my path clear of mobs so I could kite the demon without issue.
I don't know if it's true or not, but one medicine student once told me that 2 or 3 spoons of lemon juice and "baking soda" (translated from soda oczyszczona) per day would slowly "clean" your body of cancer cells. Maybe it's worth a research at least. Good luck Hayven! Great videos, style and ideas. Hold on!
For Solenor the slayer a popular strategy was to duel a warlock and have them put curse of recklessness on you which made you immune to fear back then. Since they were an enemy it didn't count as them helping you.
I used to have the Blood-Tempered Ranseur. That was also a very lengthy and difficult quest line. I kept it for a long time so I could have a polearm to level up weapon skills, because polearms could be hard to come by back the . Like most Paladins playing back then, I ultimately disenchanted the Ranseur to gain bank space. There was no way of knowing back then that Blizz would one day implement a transmog system. I miss all the old questlines, mobs, and items. The quests Activision replaced them with suck in comparison. I believe that Activision created The Cataclysm to symbolize that they had taken over the game, and in the process they killed the old Azeroth, and lowered the quality of the game. Not many people from back then don't agree that Cataclysm was the last expansion of original Azeroth. People who started playing since Cataclysm don't understand the way it was.

Glad to hear that you are getting better
I'm glad you feeling better Hayven!
Re-watching all of these now that WoW classic is out. RIP Hayven, wish you could have been here to play
What happens to this good guy ?...
Passed away from cancer
=(
I hope these videos stay on youtube for as long as youtube is a thing.
R.I.P Hayven
Ancient 1: And here is your epic staff, to go with your new shinny bow!
Hunter: But is broken...
Ancient 2: Bring me the ancient duct tape !
Hunter: Thank you! This is truly... the staff of legends!
hey I want to use gun not metal bow cover I green shit from swamps of sarrow
This is the Magic that blizzard has lost and the game no longer provides.
Awesome stuff man. I hope you're doing well!
Gmoney Mozart look at the brinht side! Not many people will waste their time with stuff like this. Yeah, if you enjoy it, it's not wasted but now you'd have more time for other stuff :3
Game has been "standardized" for the sake of smoothness/playability and balance, but that kinda killed the "feel" of it.

Adri84 Well said.
A new Hayven video? I hope this is a sign of good health. Take your time with recovery, any real fan of your's would understand. Cheers, mate.

Atleast his memory will remain until the end of youtube. Hope that day never comes so i can always come back and watch his content.
Did this quest in Vanilla. Super satisfying and it was first on my server. No greater feeling. Still have that hunter decked out in T1/2 gear.
My favorite video from hayven ever, r.i.p hayven
This quest made huntards into hunters. Best regards, a vanilla raiding hunter.
today not all hunters are huntards to be honest, most times a mage or rogue pull trash without tank wipe the group and would blame me and kicked me out of instance for no reason or at least attempt to, assholes are just everywhere
RIP Hayven, may you find peace.
The mistery of the petrified leaf quest i think is something that was at the core of the old wow experience, and made your quest a travel trough azeroth!
i really miss questlines like this and the items they gave (but mostly the quests)
I love how the stave of the ancient keepers is literally just 3 sticks duct taped together.
Should have a hidden ability of being cheaper (almost free) to repair. As when it's broken, just reapply duct tape.
Highest quality as always!
You should be payed by Blizzard, you have the best WoW channel on RUclips
Man, this was in my recommended video list, thought it was a new upload. :( then I saw the channel. R.I.P.
Time to rewatch all of his videos, may he be in a better place and know we are thankful.
Thanks for showing us all these interesting stuff before my time, as a hunter main they look wonderful! and it's always nice to hear your voice again
RIP where ever you are Hayven, Vila i frid broder. vi ses i nästa realm

Hey Haven, I'm glad you're back! Hope you will have a swift recovery!
I was a highschooler wasting many hours on this game back in original vanilla WoW, yet I still remember these quests! Truly epic adventure back then!
This just makes me want to experience these challenges on Nostalrius. Amazing video as always Hayven. Take care of your health! :)
Fellow Hunters! Warriors of the Ancient Keepers! Hold your bows high in the honor of this fallen Lore Keeper!
Probably my number 1 moment in 12 years of playing WoW.
Great vid!
As someone trying to do that quest on Anathema right now, I can assure you that it's an insanely difficult challenge. Easily the hardest thing hunters ever have to do. Things like kiting Razorgore are laughably easy compared to this quest.

Priest got 2 sick ass looking staves for healing some peasants.
I killed 4 demons and got 3 sticks taped together.
Glad you are feeling better, and happy to see a new video!

Wow, this video has brought back some great memories of my hunter says in Vanilla. Thank you for making it.
That Paladin artwork makes me want an HD remake of the Judgement set even more.
Rest in Peace brother. I know you're still out there.
This was really interesting to see. If there are any more weapons like Rhok'delar and Benediction, etc, please cover them. I had no idea there was anything like this!
Hands down, the BEST content of World of Warcraft in RUclips.
It is great to see you upload again. I hope you will get better faster :))
Glad to see you're still up and kickin

Glad to see another video from you. And as always, excellent content!
Good too see you back, really hope that the treatments are going wonderful, take care buddy
Lhok'delar was likely a placeholder model that was never updated to be what was envisioned by the artists (A staff that transformed into a bow.) It's unreal you don't have more subs, easily the best wow content on youtube
Great video! These items lost to history videos are my favorite.
I love these kinds of videos, I'm not too familiar with Vanilla as I played only when I was really young, but you should really do more videos like this! I hope that there are items like these for Rogues (back then) that you could make videos about lol.
This is how the Artifact Weapon-Quests should have been
Thanks for this.
I got the bow and indeed - it was very, very hard. Finding a raid for Azuregos was hard.
RIP Rhok'Delar! This class quest was my favorite part of vanilla WoW.
Great video as always Hayven hope you're on the mend! Also I would just like to say these videos show me exactly the type of game design that is missing from modern WoW.
Yay new Hayven video!
Amazing video. I enjoy them so much. I hope your recovery is going well!
Missing your voice and your videos. You haven't missed much, Hayven. 2020 has been garbage.
its nice to see U again :D THX for new wonderful video!!
its nice to be back :) glad you liked it! ^^
I love your videos, and I'm glad to hear you're feeling better.
Great video! and nice to have you back with a nice video!
I have done this quest back in classis and to date it is one of my most favorite memories of my gaming experience EVER. I also sold the demonkills (especially silithus one as hunters had trouble with that one) to other hunters for gold and got my epic mount doing so. :D
If only WoW would've continued making quests and content at that level, I would've been playing WoW still.
PS, I am pretty sure mature black dragon sinew wasn't a 100% droprate. I was on the quest for 5 kills or so iirc and only got it on the fifth.
Does anyone else rewatch old Hayven videos wishing that there was just one last video?
Great video I expect, get well soon!
love the content man. really unique and well put together.
Hayven i am so glad you are doing okay. i was beggining to worry a bit
Love you Hayven... so glad you rock the old world.... GET WELL SOON
I sment months in winterspring farming blue dragons. good times xD
good to see your feeling better hayven
Hope youre better now hayven we all love you and hope you will be better soon
I was so close to getting the weapon but since I started playing the game 1/2 into LK. I didnt know about the Hunter quest till close to the end. I also like the fact that the quiver one of the few bags that can be seen on the players
This quest line was probably my favorite part of vanilla wow, and that's saying a lot
Your videos are awesome and really bring back memories. all the best man and looking forward to more videos!
you awesome once again Hayven.deamn that nostalgia about old days...
Why must Blizzard take these epic class quests out?...
Cause they'd be one shottable and have no true value anymore? its better they're not around anymore.
No the black/plagued were for Naxx. www.warcraftmounts.com/mounts/blackprotodrake.php
***** I'm sorry ; You are right ! That's interesting, since I always thought it was a reward for doing all Ulduar 25 achievements in the very first weeks after it came out. But yes, apparently, these are rewards for Naxx, Malygos and sartha achievements. Thanks !
Well made video like always ! Glad that you're feeling better! :DWish you all the best.
Did these quests back in Vanilla, wonderful to revisit them here. Also, please get well.. :(
im so proud to have experience this myself and actually got it and it really was hard! no joke the farming
NE hunter Cipher - Kel'Thezad
Could you do more of these lore vids on the weapons? I love them. Keep getting better man. Love the vids and live on :D
I love these videos man, please keep making them. Takes me back to when i was a little kid xD

Maybe it's worth a research at least. Good luck Hayven! Great videos, style and ideas. Hold on!
Hayven would have enjoyed Classic in 2020 a lot.
Great work! I really liked the how it really looks videos, but this is just as good. Keep it up!
Thanks for another great video hayven. Keep fighting.
For Solenor the slayer a popular strategy was to duel a warlock and have them put curse of recklessness on you which made you immune to fear back then. Since they were an enemy it didn't count as them helping you.
Cool, I actually remember meeting that gnome when I grinded out to level cap back in vanilla!
Glad to hear that it's going in the right direction. Great videos as allway. :)

I have a huge hangover and your voice cured it 😎
This brings back memories, times when WoW was an adventure.
