I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact tha Hayven passed away. His channel was literally my favorite. He was the only RUclipsr of his kind. He will be missed for as long as the game lives and beyond.
I like the Xavius area, it aint that bad. Before the fight when you see Nighmarish creatures walking towards you, and there is nowhere to run, pretty frightening
I want to agree! To be honest, I think that zone is really unsettling. From my point of view it is like a visual representation of the concept of nothingness. Which is so fitting for a nightmare, given that I can't think of anything more disturbing than literal nothingness. Yes it is not very detailed, but this lack of basically anything, besides the mobs is what makes it to me personally very creepy
Yeah. I think that was totally intended, and I love it. Its simplicty definitely made the encounter for me. As the final boss, he's kind of expected to top everything you've faced so far, and I feel like it would have been made less if they had invested tons of art resources to try to blow you away with how scary and corrupted his room is. Since the entire raid takes place in the Dream, it makes sense that the heart of the nightmare would be the most sub-concious part of your mind.
The lack of details makes my framerate skyrocket so I love the room! Also while the room is featureless the skybox sure isn't. And in general I do think the empty expanse of fog all around you really adds to the feeling of dropping down into the middle of nightmare lords domain with all his minion coming at you from all angles.
I would have liked if they added features just to keep it from feeling like an unfinished grey box. Having the ground be moving as if standing on constantly shifting thick fog or something living would have been nice. Maybe also having massive moving roots and tentacles being far enough in the fog to only vaguely be seen would have given the impression of something massive and impending lurking in the distance.
Nothing replaces "How it REALLY look" best channel on RUclips. Been waiting a long time for someone like you to come around. I like secret areas and above the seeable areas. I recommend your channel to all friends I have that play wow. In game or IRL
Yeah, you have no idea how thankful and happy I am for the positivity and support of this amazing community. It has given me so much energy and strength this year which has helped tremendously in my fight against the cancer.
just getting ready to play nost on the 17th and i found your channel, couldn't be more happy, love your videos especially the old 'forgotten items' series :)
Been a WoW player since early/mid Vanilla and i really love your channel, being able to see how the zones are built and all the exploration really brings back the feeling of exploration i felt back when i started playing the game. Back when the world felt massive and new to me. Keep up the great work and lots of love from a fellow Swede =)
I like these explorations with your commentary. Don't end this series, I think a short form of these, pointing out interesting highlights, will make a good companion piece to the how it really looks videos.
Second this. I think they decided to call it the "Emerald Nightmare" rather than "Ruby Nightmare" or something like it as they wanted it to be clear the Nightmare was the Dream, infested with corruption.
F0xtrain Yeah, I was kind of confused when this guy asked why it wasn't green. of course the normal dream is a luscious version of azeroth untouched by intelligent beings.
Boots He may have been making a joke about it, I'm not entirely sure ^^ But some people see things differently, so it may have just not occurred to him that it does make sense to keep the name the same.
@@Hekatred - It's the inversion of the Dream, so it's the colour opposite on the colour wheel. www.colormatters.com/images/images3/theory-wheels-3-6-12.gif
Yeah, the _Corrupted Part_ Of the Emerald Dream is Red. There are some _Green_ Parts still, i not know do you see that in the Dungeon or Raid ... but there are Green spots still.
This presentation continues your history of exacting attention to detail but it is your commentary that makes it special. Very well done...and...more please!
This is so cool. I played WoW for 6 years, from Wrath to Mists. The Emerald Dream was always something that I loved the lore of, and to see it come into fruition like this makes my little Horde heart cry. Thank you so much for the guided tour, and the rest of your videos on this channel. This has been an amazing nostalgia trip.
As a shaman, I use Far Sight in places like this to take a look around zones. Unlimited range to move your camera is great! You get to see all these broken elements live!
I've watched all your videos Hayven, your content is unique. Its peaceful, full of information, little known facts and beautiful scenes and imagery. Please continue until there's no more things to talk about or your voice fades. Thank you so much, really.
Hayven, some feedback as a sub, incase you were unaware... Your narration is seriously one of the most significant factors in my enjoyment of your videos, along with all the nifty sights and visuals you provide. I recently binge watched your whole channel and I had a small fire light up in me when you happened to be narrating, and a small part of me would sad when you weren't. Trust me, I can guarantee we all want you to do narration. You have a really relaxing voice to listen to talk about this kind of stuff. Please always narrate. :)
You won a sub, I like your soothing voice and easy to understand explanations. It's not complicated or completely like reading a science book. Awesome work and hope you keep it up! :)
Hayven Games hmm so they made it like this: they used the old emerald dream and cut some pieces out and detailed them. Then they deleted the rest or switch it with void. So, this could be, that we already in the emerald dream, but they deleted the original from it.
Thank you very much for all of your videos, it is such a different experience from any related to wow, I've been following you since more than a year already and your content never desapoints me, just keep going with your fantastic job and feel free to do the narration, as it is really preciated aswell.
So amazing can't wait for Nighthold exploration. Just one minor suggestion how about showing screenshots or small video bits of original Zones (such as Thunder Bluff) for a few seconds when explaining and showing what is different.
The Emerald Nightmare is called this way because it's the corruption of the Emerald Dream, which is of course green. Red is a relatively recent decision for the Nightmare though, as in prior descriptions like in the Stormrage novel or older quests, it was described as dark foggy green.
it was Hayven who made me interested in WoW. i havent played it, but i love watching WoW vids bec of him. i am more than heartbroken when i heard of the bad news. but atleast he is in good hands now.
Might not be the standard way but it was still a nice trip through the Emerald Nightmare. Definitely think you should keep going with this and share with us the wonders of game design. :P
I enjoyed the narration! Personally I wish How It Really Looks was narrated too, simply because it helps me keep track of which part of the zone or instance we are looking at.
New to your videos and I'm really enjoying them, thank you for spending your time making this awesome content for us to enjoy. To answer your question, I think you should combine the use of the FFS and quality of commentary (found in this video) to make some outstanding videos. I look forward to seeing more of your work :)
The Emerald Dream is green, since it is the natural state of how Azeroth was intended to be. The Emerald Nightmare is red, for it has been corrupted and twisted into a nightmare by the Old Gods. The difference between the two can easily be spotted by first looking into the raid, and then the final zone of the raid, which is the Emerald Dream.
i think i actually like this better. maybe you can combine the two techniques eventually. eitherway I love your videos and I want you to make what you like because your passion is what makes these videos so great!
On NM and HEROIC mode the dreamway is used for Glory meta achivement - where the whole raid has to visit each portal. Thus as well as Mythic the extra zones are used for a lot more then mentioned in the vid
It is called the "Emerald Nightmare" because it was originally emerald, but then the corruption from Xavius came, causing it to turn red; the colour associated with "nightmares."
I'd be willing to bet that smaller area that Hayven pointed out at 2:28 is the phased versions where the insects are kept during the "Heart of the Swarm" Phase of Nythendra. When that starts, you're phased in with the insects.
Sorry for Free Far Sight , for the new expansion they change a lot of things , so it's kinda hard to update FFS . I'm not currently a member of the staff but a friend of the developers . They work on the update .
Sébastian michaelis yeah they must have such a tough job with this and so many are waiting... I hope they manages to sort it out without it driving them too mad...
Azeroth is a little bit less without you in it. RIP Hayven Games.
I’ve been rewatching all these videos again slowly after a couple years. I miss Hayven.

It really makes you appreciate the beauty of the raid. Thanks Hayven, RIP.
i prefer the narrated videos. would love more of it :)
me too ^^
modernkennnern absolutely
yeah me too
Same here. Narrated content is way better.
i'd love to see some more narrated videos, but since hayven's treatment affects the voice too, he better goes easy on himself...
The narration adds a significant component! Your voice and insight are greatly appreciated.
But real nightmare - RUclips and WoW without you, Hayven. Rest in peace, we still love, and remeber you. Thank you, again.
You can tell he just really loved the creation process. Man, I hope he's playing BfA right now. May the Light guide you, Hayven.
Timothy Hart Watching this makes me so fucking sad
When you can't sleep and Hayven uploads a new video at 4 am... Oh yeah!
when you cant sleep because he cant upload at 4am

Love ALL your series Haven. This is great ! Thanks !
This is just fucking sad. How he said "don't worry, I'll made this vid again once they software is updated, is just so sad, can't believe he's gone"
Do it this way, I like narration better.
krieg9 hes dead
He wasn't when this comment was posted. Please take your "smartass-ish" attitude somewhere else.
im always surprised as to how positive the comments always are here, keep up the great work señor hayven.

I like your well constructed videos and calm-toned narratives. Thank you for doing what you do.
Really enjoyable to watch, I like the narrated tour, pointing out the reality of the zones and the tricks used.
I like these explorations with your commentary. Don't end this series, I think a short form of these, pointing out interesting highlights, will make a good companion piece to the how it really looks videos.
12:20 An illusion? What are you hiding?
Beside that, great work!
The narration was quite nice here and I'd like to see more of it :)
Love your work Hayven
it's called the emerald nightmare because it's the corrupted emerald dream, that's why it's red..

Honestly Hayven, you deserve WAY more subs. These videos are of amazing quality.
An illusion? what are you hidding!
Something is not quite right...
I really enjoyed this and as a layman I really don't even notice the difference between the camera angles.
I really like the added narration! It adds a lot of depth to showing off the zone.
great vid! the map file must have the size of a continent in wow or it has to be even bigger!
After reading this comment I had to go back and compare and yep, the entire Eastern Kingdoms would fit into this map file area. Twice.
wow, that is huge! thank you for your dedicated work!
Hayven Games hmm so they made it like this: they used the old emerald dream and cut some pieces out and detailed them. Then they deleted the rest or switch it with void. So, this could be, that we already in the emerald dream, but they deleted the original from it.

Keep It up Hayven. You made me stay up late past 5 am when I was getting to bed, and then your video popped up. It was worth the time!

Still so good to revisit your videos. Rip

Really needed this! Well done and thank you!
What a beautiful raid. Sometimes its easy in raids to miss these things. Hoping for more vids like this!
Great video. I do enjoy your "Warcraft from a New Perspective" videos but this was really just as well done.
Last part of the nightmare might not be impressive but it sets the mood just right and it is SCARY!

Red is the inverse of green, just as a nightmare is the inverse of a dream, or corruption is the inverse of purity.
that felt like a BBC documentary on a wow raid. Good job
