Ron, Your dad raised a good son. His legacy lives on through you and your family. He is one proud man looking down on all of you. I lost my dad when I was 19, my brother at 32 and very sadly my daughter when she was only 24. I have learned the grieving process takes time, treat yourself well during this time. God bless you and your family. Lots of folks who follow the channel feel the loss as well. We never met your dad but we knew him. On this recovery a stong message is sent. The potential for serious injury or passing is just a moment away. That Avenger was really crushed, the impact must have been immense. I wish drivers would be more attentive than they are these days. I put a lot of miles on due to family issues and have had many close calls due to the inattentiveness of others. Riding motorcycles for decades has honed my awareness and I drive as if everyone is a potential threat. 360 vision, put it where they can't hurt you, and read the road environment has served me well. Be careful out there.
Good to see Mike understands what it takes, you are such a good team. I understand an older video. Your father taught you a lot, you will always be his son. It's all part of getting older. Stay safe and God will protect you.
I am glad you took a break. It takes time to heal. God Bless you and yours. For this month I am asking your viewers to help support the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Patient care regardless of ability to pay, free rides to and from hospitals for parents/ guardians and free room and food for them. If you would rather me not do this just tell me. Thanks and God Bless.
@@RonPratt I knew you were a Mason and that is why I call you brother so often. Thanks for the permission from all the kids. I recently had to quit driving them to hospitals because of macular degeneration and dang I miss it. God speed on your grief recovery.
I was a Shriners Kid back in the early 70's. They may not have had the transportation, food, and accommodations then. I remember my parents driving me to Shriners in St. Louis. We stayed in a Holiday Inn everytime and ate at KFC 🍗 . I have great memories of being at Shriners. (Naturally, a few uncomfortable moments. Overall, it was great)
First, very sorry for your loss, many prayer's too you and your family. Second, with the right tools, what could be a nightmare recovery seems easy. Thank you for your video's, watching them reminds me when I owned several wreckers way back, though not the fancy ones of today (30 years ago).
I hurt for a long time after my Dad passed in '09 and I still think of him often. It hurt me especially hard because I was the one that found him and felt nothing but cold flesh when I checked for a pulse. Take all the time off that you need, Ron. We will still be here when you return. Thank God there were no serious injuries. Stay safe and God bless.
I feel as you do. My Father has been gone 12 years and I think of him often. I am the eldest and was doing well until the viewing. My knees suddenly gave while up against his coffin. Fortunately my brother had sent two of his boys that had not my side. I was going down they grabbed my arms and held me steady.
Oh boy, what a mess. No need to put those two cars in the crusher. They're already done. Amazing there were no serious injuries. A job well done, Ron. That side puller is a nifty invention you came up with.
About the only type of car compactor that would make those two any smaller would be a Predator car baler. A car crusher would just crush them to the "crush flat" limit, which those two vehicles are pretty much already at.
no need for a crusher, just put those on the belt of a recycling shredder, watch them come out the other side in pieces the size of a soda can or smaller
You take all the time you need for grieving Ron. Your fans will always be here for you and your family. I lost both of my parents and it is a hard thing to deal with. I'm so glad no one was seriously hurt in this crash. Praying for those involved. God Bless you and your family. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers
I am glad you took sometime to heal. Your father is looking down on you and your family. Thank for the video. Both drivers were lucky the injuries were minor. May God bless you and your family also everyone else. 🙏🙏🇨🇦
It takes a lot of time but things do get better however you never truly "get over it". I lost my Mom 14 years ago, my Dad 5 years ago and my sister 3 years ago and it was/is tough. Every day you will see or remember something that makes you sad, or happy and you keep going knowing that you will see each other again someday. Keep the faith.
Reminds me of the song, 'One Bit At A Time' Love the way you two work as a very effective team. Pity your passenger didn't offer to help. Perhaps he's afraid of the dark!
Glad you are taking the time off. Doesn't matter if it's unreleased footage I still enjoy them. I look forward to every Friday to a video. Love your channel
Hey Ron, love the videos man, keep up the fantastic work and im sorry to hear about your dad. Sending prayers your way and will keep your family in my prayers. God Bless you and your family. From one tow truck driver to the next, be safe out there brother.
It's really spooky when travelling along a motorway with nothing coming the other way on the other carriageway, just a string of emergency service vehicles travelling over there, but in the same direction as myself. It was a filthy wet night, and about ten miles before I passed the scene of the accident.
It’s a miracle nobody was in that Avenger. Seeing how much damage it took from a rear end hit, if somebody was in the Avenger, I don’t think we’d all be watching this video. Sending my prayers to anyone in the vehicle that struck the stopped Avenger, hoping that they’re okay…….Ron, may the Lord be with you and your family during this time. Hearing you on the verge of tears on your last video had me a little misty eyed too. Stay safe out there!
This video would be a good video for the young ones that think they have to go fast all the time, a safety video. Thanks for another great video Ron, So glad you took time off from the videos, family comes first
I'm young and I'm not a fast driver! I'll usually go the speed limit or maybe 5 over. In most cases I'll pace traffic (when it's really busy) and go what ever they are, so I'm not impeding traffic. But I don't go dangerously fast
This reminds me of an accident in my hometown. A lady wasn't in her right state of mind, and she accelerated within city limits to about 75 miles per hour and hit a four way intersection that included two or three side streets on top of the 4 legs.. Her vehicle was launched 150 feet. Surprisingly, nobody was killed.
I like the way you and Mike work together as a team. You each anticipate what the other needs doing and get the job done with a minimum of fuss. It really pays off on the bigger and more complex jobs I've seen you do.
Never been this early for an upload and we get right into the action! Edit: as always compliments to your team Ron! And I understand if u need time to heal the loss of your father. Take your time, we’ll be here!
I appreciate all of your videos, I am a truck driver, been running almost 19 years, I think about my parents who have been gone for a long time, they are always with you, and I believe they are my guardian angels, I seen a lot of wrecks and everytime I break down, and get towed, I am glad that you and all the other tow trucks are helping us when we need it. Thank you very much.
So sorry for the loss of your father. I lost mine 9 years ago and mom followed 11 months later. I still have days that my heart hurts to see them again. Just trust in the Lord, and he will guide you on your new path in life. Lost my husband last year, and I am still recovering from that sudden loss. Good days and bad days, but I trust in God to eventually bring me out of this valley. Prayers be with you and yours. Hang in there. Prayers Love and Peace
I enjoy watching your videos. My dad was a tow truck driver for about 8 years before he passed from cancer. I think of him whenever I watch your stuff.
Wow! What a mess. By the grace of God, no one died. I have a request for your church and anyone who wishes to pray for the families in Waukesha, WI. Those who have lost children, in particular. My entire state is in shock and total disbelief. What was supposed to be a joyful holiday parade turned into a tragedy when a speeding SUV ran through the parade route while fleeing police. My friends who were there escaped physical injury, but what they saw will remain burned in their memories. I am keeping you, Ron, and your family in my prayers for continued healing and peace.
No one knows the dangers of being on the side of the highway more than recovery people. Just goes to show what can happen. This person was lucky they were smart enough to get out of the vehicle.
As a Tow operator myself, I agree with one exception, in this situation there was a steep embankment just off the shoulder with what looked to be water meaning there would have been nowhere for the people in the Avenger to move off the roadway to. The safest option in this scenario would have been to remain inside the vehicle until help arrived (which is obviously what happened here).
Thanks for the video bud. That was a rough one. Good team work. Continued prayers for you and yours, and the coworkers that God will continue to keep His tender hands of comfort and mercy upon you, and the entire Midwest crew, for after all, you are one big family.
Love these videos. You guys make a great team. You don't bump into each other and you both bounce ideas off each other with no hesitation. That's great leadership.
From Oxford,Ms prays and well wishes for all involved. Still praying for you and your family and employees Mr Ron. Happy Thanksgiving and have a bless day.
My family and myself extend our condolences to your family. You'll be in our prayers. Your dad got called home to be with God. Love you guys. Keep up with the content.
I love watching your videos makes me miss doing the job .working with you guys would be an amazing experience but I’m sending love to your family and very sorry to hear about your dad
I’m sorry for your loss…take your time through the grief journey……..My brother & I lost our entire family to Cancer & Dementia 2 years ago and eventually this grieving becomes apart of your everyday life for the rest of your life…Great videos & God Bless….
I am so sorry for your losses. That would be near unbearable. Life goes on, as my Dad said and we must move with it. Thank you for watching and God bless
I’m glad you are able to take a break. You may want to wait till after the first of the year to come back. Sometime after the holidays. I’ve been think about you and your family and of course sending prayers. We lost my dad in 1997 to emphysema and lost mom in 2017 to congestive heart failure. Holidays are hard to get thru. Especially since my mom’s birthday was New Year’s Eve. We lost her in November and last year on the same day we lost my mother in law to COPD. Your family will need you in this difficult time. God bless you and your family with an easement of the pain. It will never go away but it will get easier to deal with. ❤️🍀🙏
Ron your job/work will give you stability as you help others. It will also keep you out of your bed or recliner. You know what's best for you and your dad told you to not quit. Great job, Man! As you say, "You're good"!
So sorry about the loss of your father Ron. Keep up the great work and honor him every day with that as he would want u to do. He raised a great guy. The driver that hit that red car was extremely lucky not to be seriously injured or killed
If ever there was a "totaled" car I think this was it. When you pulled the wheel off I knew there was no hope. You guys did a great job. You did this very quickly. I know you mentioned that this was before you lost your dad. I miss him so much. I loved to see him working with you even if it was just controlling traffic. He was a good man. I still miss my dad and I lost him in 1988. You never stop missing them.
One thing I can say for certain, that car wont be going on any fishing trip. Keep on going Ron, thank you for the upload, you Dad was a man with good values, like you too.
Lots of Love and prays to you and the family again Ron, I know its going to be a trying holiday season for you. Just know your not alone, if you need it don't hesitate to reach out! Happy holidays!
Sorry again for your loss Ron. I'll continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers especially when I pass your shop. 4 1/2 years ago I was driving home in one of my 87 Volvo 740's going 60 mph. It was a clear, sunny and cold day when out of nowhere I was rear-ended by an 07 Mazda 3. I was in the #3 lane and no vehicle traffic around me. Long story short I kept my Volvo, but the Mazda was totalled. A few months after the accidents the woman who hit me was a witness to a drug overdose that killed a young man. Like you Ron I'm a Believer and I know that the Lord and my departed loved ones were watching over me. After changing the bumper and taillight I still drive that same car!
Ron, condolences on the loss of your Dad and for recognizing him in this video. I take it you and your Dad had a healthy relationship. I'm very envious. I had a Father that beat up his wife and children, and I was forced to show affection for the monster I loathed. On a brighter side, I'm glad to have discovered your channel. It's always refreshing to watch a real leader in action. The minute you step out of the truck, you're like a field general, you observe the upmost safety for you and your crew, you assess and evaluate a strategy that has a high probability of success and jump into action. I just love the country way you assume control of the situation from the jump. I pray for yours and your crew's safety, continued success, and His highest blessings. You're the best, Ron, simply The Best.
I have missed my dad every since he died 27 years ago, it gets a little better with time but still have a few private moments too. god bless you and your family .
When I see an accident like this, I always wonder if the cause is "target-fixation", where the driver looks at the vehicle stopped on the side, and panics and then goes where he/she is looking, rather than the lane clear of the stopped vehicle.
RON,Hello, what a mess, but glad, only minor injuries,,,, now your THANKSGIVING, this year was quite different, non the less, I did NOT have THANKSGIVING dinner either as I am alone, , my wife passed in FEB, TAKE CARE, & God Bless, you all, stay well, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I know what you are going through after the loss of a brother in January that was 76 years old. At of 14 there is now only 7 left. I still grieve on everybody that passed away but keep the memories in my heart. Gone but never forgotten. My condolences to you and your family. Thank you for being strong and still putting out videos.
At least on the one he usually drove. (Though if I recall correctly, that was the Western Star, which is hard to take out of service long enough to paint.) We did something similar on my church's tech crew--one of our sound operators passed suddenly. Years later we still have the front page of the memorial bulletin up in the tech booth.
I thought about making a similar suggestion. It wouldn't even have to be painted, a vinyl graphic would work fine and would be easily replaced if it got scratched. All 5 of the semi tractors that I own, as well as one of my dads old tractors that I've restored have them with In loving memory of and his year of birth and death.
We enjoy your channel, and wish to express our sympathy at the loss of your Dad. Having both been through this loss ourselves, we can relate. You will always have cherished memories.
Mike I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dad. No matter how old we are the loss of a father is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. I kept thinking of the four part video you made with your Dad when you went looking for the abandoned van in the National Forest. Although it was a little emotional this time, I'm so very glad you have that special video. The goodness, caring, and wisdom along with the love he had for his you, his son, was amazing. May the memory of your dad's love for his family surround you now and help bring you peace.
As always very professional job well done ! 👍👍 Mike's a good man seems to be very responsible an trying to keep a close eye for detail and safety ! You've mentored him good ! Once again you an your family are still in my prayers for the loss of your father ! God Bless an stay safe !
Ron, again my deepest condolences for the loss of your Dad. Just a suggestion, the side pull of the roller fairlead is surprisingly low, and I have caused one to fail in the field. To have helped take most of the pressure off the side of the fairlead, you should attach your pulley in an eyelet farther aft on the deck. This would have caused the cable to put a lot less pressure on the side post of the fairlead. When mine failed it caused the top mount for the side fairlead to get bent up, nothing a torch and hammer could not straighten and fix at the shop. I learned my lesson the hard way, during the winter in about a foot of snow, on a remote dirt road, on top of a 9,500 foot mountain Northeast of Reno Nevada.
Thank you all first responders and tow truck drivers who risk their lives daily to keep you and our roads safe. I have great respect for the tow truck drivers and first responders. My dad use to own a wrecking yard when i was a kid and also owns his own auto body shop that was my life and still is, as my husband helps my dad out at his shop. again thank you for the video.
What's kind of scary is that it wasn't all that long ago that this would have been a fatal accident for the driver of the white car. Great job as usual.
Ron, we were sorry to hear of your DADs passing. It’s difficult to lose someone so close. Faith, family, friends and fond memories will help you through this! GOD bless.
Good on you Ron, I'm an OTR driver an have been where you are within the last few months. Take the time you need for you, and just ease yourself back into life. You're the only one who knows how much time that is, and once you feel comfortable then yes come back to work but leave RUclips behind initially only come back to the camera once you feel comfortable but don't rush it. Life takes priority over work and it takes longer than you think to heal. Prayers Ron, and please take your time.
Ron sorry for your loss thoughts and prayers to you and your family.. Lost my mother in law 3 weeks ago from cancer it's been hard but time heals all.. God bless you and your family.. Be safe out there..
Job well done; even when the raw reality of losing your father is constantly on your mind. Ron, you’re tops. May the mercy and compassion from GOD be with you always.
Ron my hat is off to you. You took that wrecked mess and pulled it up and loaded it making it look so easy. You do great work. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss. We are praying for you and your family. 👍👍👍❤️🙏
When you arrived on scene an were setting up to turn around Slim dang near scared the you know what outa me lmao. another good video as always job well done!
Very deeply sorry for your loss. My most sincere gratitude for your videos. The !ordznd Time will give you strength to move forward without forgetting your Father.
Sorry for your loss Ronn, its been awhile since I've been on so I didn't know that your farther passed. I myself have been going through a hard time. My wife was recently diagnosed with Cancer and has been in and out of the hospital. I'm so afraid of losing her and am doing my best to stay strong but its very hard. I wish you and your family the very best and may God be with you at all times. Love the show.......
Hey Ron. Hadn't watch you in a while, doing a little catching up here. My condolences about your dad even though that's a few months back ago now. Never easy, but glad you were able to take a little time off. This was one of the rougher incidents I've seen on the channel, glad that no major injuries came of it. When the officer said "see you next time"... although it's good for business, you have to wish for less "next times". Accidents do happen, best we can hope for is that any bodily harm is minimal and that everybody can get to where they need to be at the end of the day. You guys are so efficient at what you do and get traffic moving again quick as possible, I have to hand it to y'all for that.

Mike was taking charge more confidently and seemed to anticipate every move. Good job you two!
I was just thinking the same thing. He's definitely grown into the job.
I noticed that, he seemed to be at least a half step ahead of Ron here, like he was anticipating Ron dong it and then just did it.

I have heard so many times that it is best to stay in your vehicle when stopped on the Interstate. I guess that is not very smart.
well said!

So sorry for your loss Ron keep prayer for your family 🙏🙏
Sorry about your Dad.
Watching bits and pieces fall off that car when you were pulling it showed how badly it was wrecked.
One thing I can say for certain, that car wont be going on any fishing trip.
Keep on going Ron, thank you for the upload, you Dad was a man with good values, like you too.
Sorry for ur loss from the UK... Time is a good healer and keeping busy....
Another fantastic video....
You and the Midwest Crew are simply the best! I will be moving forward with you.
My condolences and prayers with you and your family, losing a loved one can take a heavy toll. God bless.
Lots of Love and prays to you and the family again Ron, I know its going to be a trying holiday season for you. Just know your not alone, if you need it don't hesitate to reach out! Happy holidays!
Mr Ron Love how you and Mike work together. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
So sorry for the loss of your dad. My prayers are with you and your family.
So very glad no one was in the car. Hope the other driver was okay.
Good evening from Australia, I hope you are all well and healthy….now onto the show…
Oh May you all be blessed 🙏🏻💖🇦🇺
Sorry for your loss Ron😔🙏🏻
They are LUCKY there was NOBODY in the red car!!! That would’ve been easily a fatality! So sorry for your loss! I’m rewatching your videos
Ron, You are supposed to take them to the shredder after you recover them, not before.
Let him do his job he might have different rules
What about having a mural painted on each one of the trucks of your dad as a memory to his legacy
At least on the one he usually drove. (Though if I recall correctly, that was the Western Star, which is hard to take out of service long enough to paint.)
We did something similar on my church's tech crew--one of our sound operators passed suddenly.
I think the truck is very classy as is! Don't cheapen it with a mural!
Thanks for posting through a very difficult time and God bless
I am sorry for your loss Ron. Wish you God's Blessings. You and your family
I am so sorry to hear about your dear Dad. I remember seeing him in some of your films. A wonderful gentleman. 🙏💔
We enjoy your channel, and wish to express our sympathy at the loss of your Dad. Having both been through this loss ourselves, we can relate. You will always have cherished memories.
That's why I do everything I can not to stop on a freeway shoulder. I'm glad everyone lived. God bless
Happy Thanksgiving and sorry for your loss. My Deepest Condolences to you and your family 🙏
Lost my dad in 99, I feel ure pain Ron. Still to this day. All we can do is go on and remember them and make them proud. My wishes to u and fam.
Mike I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dad. No matter how old we are the loss of a father is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know.
I kept thinking of the four part video you made with your Dad when you went looking for the abandoned van in the National Forest. Although it was a little emotional this time, I'm so very glad you
have that special video.
The goodness, caring, and wisdom along with the love he had for his you, his son, was amazing.
May the memory of your dad's love for his family surround you now and help bring you peace.
Definitely going to miss seein the old man running around. He was full of knowledge. Prayers to you and all at Midwest truck 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost mine 21 years ago it gets a little easier as time goes by but the loss will always be there
Every time I see that homemade side puller I am in awe as it's just the neates little thing
So sorry about your Dad, prayers. Nice to see the way you and Mike work together, he has a great teacher.
So sorry for your loss sir. Glad to hear you took some time off and are coming back as strong as you can. God bless and stay safe!
Your a legend brother! I learn so much from your videos!
You (and your dad) helped train Mike to be a great Teammate! You two make a great, efficient Team. God Bless.
Prayers and best wishes to you, Ron, and your families.
