Another great video. There is a saying in racing that the more the car destroys itself in a wreck, the less you worry about the driver. That's because the car takes all the energy of the crash and uses it to destroy itself than transferring it to the driver inside. That idea has finally (in the last ~20-25 years) made it into street car design with crush zones and other "features" where it sucks because the car is totalled on almost anything other than a very slow speed accident, but it means that you (the occupant) are more likely to walk away from it because the car destroying itself means that you didn't take nearly as much impact energy.
The fact that a clutch housing, something that's supposed to be buried way deep in the transmission, made it out onto the road, makes it even more incredible that the driver walked.
@@Harry-zz2oh I grew up in Minnesota, looks much the same, so its nice getting to see the mid west... I find it most interesting how traffic reacts to emergency units.... Also like Bobby said gives Ron time to tell us about what is going on with the call and also if flooding or other events happened.
Mr Pratt, The term Blues and Twos comes from the UK, where emergency services use only blue lights and two tone sirens (Blues and Twos.) Sir what I think you have here is a case of the Red, Blue, Toot'n Scoots lol. It does amaze me some of the crashes where people walk away unharmed. I've seen where the engine is almost in the drivers lap and after a simple door pop the driver just wiggles out without a scratch on them. As others have said here already, it shows that vehicles are being designed safer. Now if only we could make the drivers operate that much safer perhaps we could cut out fatal crashes all together. Stay safe out there Ron, see you in the next vid!
Used to they were the older panda car sirens. Modern UK emergency vehicles have directional sirens so drivers could identify the direction of travel of the emergency vehicle. Or at least that was true 20 years ago when I left St. John’s Ambulance. Still call them blues and twos.
Ron, I about had a heart attack just as I was fixing to click on this video when I read about the tow truck driver killed near Springfield last Monday! That was a terrific interview you gave to the reporter. While I was greatly relieved that the victim was not you or anyone at Midwest, I am deeply saddened for that poor man's family and friends. I'll continue to pray for you and the others at Midwest to remain safe, as well as all the other operators and folks who's jobs place them in danger from inattentive drivers. God Bless Ron and stay safe.
RON U ARE A ALSOME PERSON WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU. CAREFUL PERSON WHO ALWAYS THINKS OF THE PEOPLE IN THE WRECK AND ASKS FOR PRAYERS NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SPIRIT YOU HAVE. I THANK GOD FOR YOU AND UR FAMILY. GOD BLESS YOU AND UR FAMILY. I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS MY HUSBAND WATCH THEM WITH ME. GOD ALWAYS LOOK OVER THEM..
We love listening to you and checking out the scenery. I wish tow trucks could run code here in California, I see a lot of accidents involving tow trucks that could have been avoided. We had one here in my town where the tow truck driver was killed by someone not slowing down and moving over. Had one you probably heard about where a man and wife were in a tow truck that was hit from behind by a big rig and went off a bridge into the river killing them both.
don't let all the overhyped nonsense overwhelm you into a safety state of mind, it's still about 90% LUCK and probable higher powers when anyone survives a bad wreck.
There truely is a lot of science behind this. I had a good feeling the driver was ok when I saw no cockpit intrusion and obliterated front in. It's like you said most of the energy was already absorbed before getting to the driver.....with that said they may still wake up sore the next morning 😂😂😂
that is silly. everything is going in the same direction until the crash. the car stops forward motion because it hit something, the engine didn't hit anything so it keeps going forward. drive the same car into a bridge abutment and the driver will eat that engine. besides, an engine sliding down the highway at 60MPH is a liability for Mazda. if that engine hits someone and kills them, there will be a suit as soon as the next of kin finds out the engine was designed to bail.
All of that mess and she walked away?!? She had an Angel looking over her shoulder for sure! Hopefully the secondary crashes were not bad and everybody is okay. Stay safe and God bless. :-)
Seeing this video makes me realize how lucky I was to walk away from my accident with only a couple of bruised ribs. My truck was heavily damaged. The engine compartment ended up a foot off center. Every safety feature on my truck worked as intended that day.
Miracles do happen another definitely was one of them ! I do appreciate your respect of those who are injured or killed by not showing those accidents ! God Bless you an uour drew an family !
For those who don’t wish to watch the driving, during the edit you could always put a time code of when to skip to for them. Additionally, RUclips lets you split your video into segments (but not sure how) so they can scrub along and skip a segment they don’t want to watch. I believe you have to enter the start and end times into the segments though, so for example 0:00 - 2:31 intro, 2:31 - 18:42 driving 18:43 - 23:01 recovery 23:02 - 25:00 end credits. [those time codes aren’t accurate, they’re just provided as an example]
So even though you aren't an emergency vehicle you can go through red lights and such? Mad respect to people like you who do this. Thank you for being there to help when people need it the most!
Tow truck has emergency lights flashing. There is no other traffic on that side of the highway. Shouldn't be too hard to figure it out in a few seconds.
My thought to that was "Are any of them on the phone to 911" . . 'There seems to someone driving at speed the wrong way down the interstate' . . 'Is it a wrecker?' .. . 'Why yes it is' . . 'In that case don't worry, we know about him.'

The squishy bits on the outside protect the squishy bits on the inside that are a lot more expensive to replace :)
Ron that was some quick work! No wonder MHP and the local LEO's love you. God bless and keep up the good work!
AMEN to that..
Amen
The fact that a clutch housing, something that's supposed to be buried way deep in the transmission, made it out onto the road, makes it even more incredible that the driver walked.
Ron Pratt you're fast and swift doing your work professionally.....awesome 💪
Please keep some or all driving parts in your videos. You often convey lots of information during the drive.
We get to see some of the scenery which is very nice since many of us have not been in his State.
That Mazda CX-5 held up extremely well
Surprised that the driver was okay after that.
The engine is supposed to drop-out instead of intruding the passenger cabin and killing occupants - “she walked away”
For sale: Engine. Used. Already removed and drained of all fluids. Might have a little damage.
Is the engine still good? Like can it still work
"Warranty not included"
Engine has light scratches
How much?
*minor scuffs
from nova scotia ,Canada it good to see your roads down there you do a lot of hard work and you are safe . God bless
Also, thanks for leaving all the footage of you driving. That's the best part.
"Red, Blue, Toot'n Scoots" sounds like something you end up with a few hours after eating at a shady buffet.
Used to they were the older panda car sirens. Modern UK emergency vehicles have directional sirens so drivers could identify the direction of travel of the emergency vehicle. Or at least that was true 20 years ago when I left St. John’s Ambulance. Still call them blues and twos.
Good lord, that must have been one heck of an impact.
in it they did say the driver didn't even slow down when they hot the road construction truck
love the driving part. Stuck in house since March, makes me think i am on a trip.
The scene from planes/trains/automobiles suddenly is flashing through my head!!!
YOU'RE GOING THE WRONNNNNG WAYYYYTYY
"How would he know where we're going?"
Love that scene
Yea, that'll buff out, no problem!
Thank you for respecting the crash victims privacy.
I’d rather he show everything that he records and blur out anything that needs to be blurred. I’m sure that’s not what Ron wants though.
Why ? Happened in pubic.
Just started watching you and please keep the driving. We see when u see it. It's like we r with u. So Interesting. Ty and stay safe
I appreciate whatever you post, doesn’t matter what you do someone is gonna be upset. Thank you for being respectful of those who pass in accidents.
Driver walked away because all of the energy from the collision left with the engine by design.
Car: 60 to zero in 0.00 seconds.... engine: zero to 60 feet in 5 seconds....
don't let all the overhyped nonsense overwhelm you into a safety state of mind, it's still about 90% LUCK and probable higher powers when anyone survives a bad wreck.
There truely is a lot of science behind this. I had a good feeling the driver was ok when I saw no cockpit intrusion and obliterated front in. It's like you said most of the energy was already absorbed before getting to the driver.....with that said they may still wake up sore the next morning 😂😂😂
Modern vehicles have impressive engineering in them to protect the occupants.
that is silly.
everything is going in the same direction until the crash.
the car stops forward motion because it hit something, the engine didn't hit anything so it keeps going forward.
drive the same car into a bridge abutment and the driver will eat that engine.
besides, an engine sliding down the highway at 60MPH is a liability for Mazda.
if that engine hits someone and kills them, there will be a suit as soon as the next of kin finds out the engine was designed to bail.
All of that mess and she walked away?!? She had an Angel looking over her shoulder for sure!
Hopefully the secondary crashes were not bad and everybody is okay. Stay safe and God bless. :-)
WOW just wow !! The good Lord was riding shotgun for sure !!
Yes he was amen
Yes he was
@@51wm05 amen brother.
Great work. Fast and efficiently pulled both pieces in less than 10 minutes.
Damn, wish we could run code to some of these accidents here. Or at least would have red and blues.
Aw, sorry there was a second crash 😢 well wishes to everyone involved
I love the driving portion.
Hello Ron, ever the respectful professional, getting the job done safely. Thanks for sharing and continue to stay safe 😷
Mr. Pratt you do great work. If I'm ever in Southeast Missouri with car trouble you are number one on my list to call.
I like the driving parts. It helps me get more background on the recovery to follow.
How not to do an engine swap 101, can u imagine how hard that collision was sheesh
Can't imagine the speed they were going before impact !
and they said "she never hit the brakes"
You know it’s showtime when Ron puts that hard hat on and grabs his gloves
I actually like the driving portions, I like to see the scenery
Seeing this video makes me realize how lucky I was to walk away from my accident with only a couple of bruised ribs. My truck was heavily damaged. The engine compartment ended up a foot off center. Every safety feature on my truck worked as intended that day.
Miracles do happen another definitely was one of them ! I do appreciate your respect of those who are injured or killed by not showing those accidents ! God Bless you an uour drew an family !
happy new year Ron, i hope you, me, and everyone had a better year unlike before
The driving portions are why I watch love it.

Yes, in missouri "wreckers" "tow trucks" are considered "emergency vehicles"
If they don't like it, they don't have to watch it but I think it's a good video for us to watch how y'all do y'all work on any conditions
Always love your great content. Happy New Year and stay safe
Imagine driving down the highway and getting passed by a tow truck on the wrong side LOL! Great video Ron! btw I love the driving part!
Lol my thoughts exactly
Tow truck has emergency lights flashing. There is no other traffic on that side of the highway. Shouldn't be too hard to figure it out in a few seconds.
My thought to that was "Are any of them on the phone to 911" . . 'There seems to someone driving at speed the wrong way down the interstate' . . 'Is it a wrecker?' .. . 'Why yes it is' . . 'In that case don't worry, we know about him.'
I enjoy the driving parts - Cant wait till you get a screamin Q for this rollback! Great Video - Glad to hear only minor injuries (crazy by looking at that car/suv)
Just please be a momentary button and not a switch lol
The horns are always nice on Peterbuilts
Wow! Glad i came across this channel, I actually spent a lot of my childhood in Scott city. Keep it up!
