This music is not from my era but my parents listened to it and I love these older performers. This is real talent not today's crap. Thanks for sharing.
This is my go-to Halloween movie. Bela Lugosi, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, a fake haunting, a stormy night in a mansion, a murder, and Kay Kyser. We always have a great night.
Jack Martin was my stepfather. I met Ish when I was ten years old on a family vacation in Hawaii. It was great listening to Jack and Ish talk about their time with Kay. I have photographs, if you would like me to scan and email them to you. I liked your uncle very much. I only met him that one time, but Jack loved him like a brother.
Honest? That's very cool. You often wonder about living relatives of these celebrities of the past. Ish was a phenomenon in his day, a 40s icon for sure.
Here's what I like about this kind of older big band music. All of the musicians in this big band are top shelf. No second rate players here. All the army camps. Uso shows constant one nighters. Live radio remotes. Savings bond drives. Also note. No loud amps for a crutch. Men and women were dressed first class. No rings in their noses. They came on stage looking professional and sounding clean articulate. Big difference today. Groups play louder and louder and louder. Don't knock any of the older big bands. Really good musicians acting and plating top notch
Enquanto nós, aqui do Brasil naquela época, estavamos ouvindo grandes artistas como Orlando Silva, Cartola, Jararaca e, claro, Noel Rosa, haviam essas jóias espalhadas por aí!
I like Ginny Simms. There is something about her that would have made me want to see her in concert back then but alas I was born long after this content was originally made so all I have is these short clips of her singing. What a smile she has though!
@30SecondsOfFame Good morning. I hope your dad is still here to enjoy his 101th. Bet he has lots of great stories. I love the old movies, especially with the big bands. Regards from Coco in NC
LYRICS: What a session. What a session. And now, no more cogitation, it's time for relaxation. So off with your thinking caps, on with your shoes with taps. And like a fella once said, "Grab yourself a coed." What I mean is, come on, children, just dance. Just like the fella once said It's Sully Mason, Ginny Simms, Harry Babbitt, Ish Kabibble and all the gang. Take it, Sully. Like the fella once said Who sat on his hat I'm telling you, baby I'm leaving you flat Like the bale of hay said That dropped from a load I'm telling you, baby I'm hitting that road Yes, hitting that road Admitted, you fooled me for a spell But just like the farmer told the well I dug you Like the bicycle pump said to the spare Ooh Uh-huh I'm telling you, baby, I'm giving you air Ooh So there So there Like the fella once said Like the fella once said Like the fella once said To the mule that was sick I'm telling you, baby You're losing your kick Know what the short chair said to the tall chair? If you like the Ol' Professor, check out the first published full length biography, KAY KYSER-THE OL' PROFESSOR OF SWING! AMERICA'S FORGOTTEN SUPERSTAR. Read about ISH, GINNY, HARRY, SULLY and KAY!!
Anyone know the names of the male singers on the far right and far left (singing with harry, Sully, and Ginny)? They appeared in most of Kyser's movies.
Sadly,Kay is that "weird" kid at school and you didn't like him and you didn't know much about him.But now you look back and was the most savage there...
Well, if you call him "that 'weird' kid at school and you didn't like him"...I guess you know what you're talking about, but seriously he was president of his senior class at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill...a nerd he was not!
Great video. Too bad you ruined it. What I find unimaginable is with all this incredible technology WHY do RUclipsrs put up videos with stretched aspect ratios? It was filmed in 4:3 so leave it that way! A little software tweak is all it takes to fix it.
I don't understand why whenever there is a show about the big band era they pretty much ignore Kay Kyser. It was before my time but I love it.
They ignore him so much I just discovered him by accident today
Like the corn-borer said to his brother, "Just go in one ear and out the other."
I heart Kay Kyser.
This music is not from my era but my parents listened to it and I love these older performers. This is real talent not today's crap. Thanks for sharing.

Kyser band was not only a musical group, but an entire entertainment organization.
There were many great orchestra's in the late 1930's & early 1940's, but Kay's was probably one of the best . Another, was of course, Glenn Miller's.
Ish Kabibble was my Uncle. I miss him.

Marion Hutton was my mother, Betty was my aunt.
2:06 Fabulous guitar twirling in the air!
Damn why couldn’t I have been born to live in the era 😭
like the feller once said, AIN'T THAT A KICK IN THE HEAD
Hahahahahga
Great for a stooges song.
Nice to see a post from someone who is knowledgable about Kay Kyser.
i'm brazilian, i'm 16 years old and i hear Kay Kyser at breakfast kkk, the faces and mouths he makes are great.

Agreed
Amen!!
Now I know why my folks loved Kay Keiser, Miller, Goodman, et al!!
Kay Kaiser was a real showman and they audiences loved to see him in movies. Ishkabibble looked like Moe Howard with his haircut.
It's a musical and a comedy two in one!
What a nice band.Pretty good comedy from Kay.What a loss when this era ended.
Hit it!

A bandleader I worked for saw her in a WW2 Navy show: "She had the curves in all the right places."
Great music in those days!
Love it! I have this movie on VHS, recorded from TCM. The video quality isn't great, but the movie is!
Now that's entertainment !!!
What a nice swing arrangement. Thanks Kay.
Great stuff!!
Fantastic!
amazing. Great music is timeless

Jim Carey at 1:42
+John Michael It's Ish Kabible!
Hahahahaha That’s what I thought
That's an insult to Ish!! Lol
jesus how did you catch hehehe
His dad
I love Kays Band, and his gang. It sounds like the bests from those years. =PABLO=
p.s.: What's new about Kay ?
Wow! McConaughey is nearly identical to the way Kay Kyser speaks.
1:40 the guy that looks like Jim Cary was called Ace!!!
No, not “Ace”. This guy’s comedy name was Ish Kabibble. Kay Kyser calls him “Ish”.
@30SecondsOfFame Sorry I'm a year late, but the best of wishes to a tough old timer. I hope he's doing well.
Who's from Sim Gretina's remix? (Imma Tellin' You)
Anyone know the names of the male singers on the far right and far left (singing with harry, Sully, and Ginny)? They appeared in most of Kyser's movies.
Tom & Jerry 🤣
fallout bought me here and i am prowed
Why wasn't this in fallout 3?
Ish Kabbible should have been with Spike Jones too, because well look at him
i don't know why, and i have no idea why, but clueless gamer brought me here
Sadly,Kay is that "weird" kid at school and you didn't like him and you didn't know much about him.But now you look back and was the most savage there...

Wow thats how a real Woman should be like and look like
Sim Gretina? Peggy Suave?
I actually also came from the remix but the original is phenomenal too!
How did you find this clip!?!
Gilmore girls brought me here 🙃
0:21 Tom and Jerry anyone?

0:57
Superb sound quality from 1940! But very bad picture quality, only 240p!
Google Kay Kyser book Steven Beasley to take you to our KK book and CDs for sale website.
This is an intelligence test. How did you do?
I wonder if dean martin got his inspiration from this song?
Me too :)
@pantsdecuero oh he's dead.

I didn’t know Kaiser could tap dance. He’s still a duche.
Song not bad but step it`s...i hate it
