Cash stole this song from Beverly Maher and paid 75,000.00 in 1968 for the rights to this song. ruclips.net/video/eloMTom-fpI/видео.html
@NORTHWOODSPREPPER1He's right - Cash combined a couple songs to make Folsom Prison but never acknowledged where he got it from and made money off of it. Years later he paid for the rights to the original material so he couldn't be sued for stealing it which would have cost him a fortune. So he stole it and then paid for it.
Roy Clark was an all time great guitarist. He oozed with technical ability! Absolutely fantastic guitarist!
How have I never heard of this guy? he was amazing.
He was the star of one of the most popular TV shows of the 60s, Hee Haw, a country bumpkin variety show. He was probably one of the best known country stars of the time, although he could play any genre. He's also amazing on the banjo & violin (He'd call it a fiddle). He was also on an episode of The Odd Couple, where he plays an incredible rendition of Malaguena, as well as the fiddle & banjo.
Here's one of them. Just search:
*Roy Clark can play any genre!*
You can see his versatility all in one clip. It's on RUclips. You should check it out!
Probably the first guitarist that ever inspired me, watching TV with my grandparents when i was barely old enough to speak. then it took some years of growing up, and found Iommi, Hendrix, and Page...and here we are today, back to start. Thanks Roy! been a fun ride :)
Wow 1964 trolling the audience with a guitar. Ahead of Monty Python and Andy Kaufman. Pure genius.
This guy could play the banjo like nobody's business. Roy was the man.
great guitarist.
great humorist.
pure talent.
Roy Clark and Glenn Campbell are two of the most talented guitarists in the history of the instrument. Here you see the talent of Roy Clark. As a kid watching Hee Haw I loved seeing his talent. But this clip truly let's people see how talented he was to make a guitar come alive. Thanks for posting this clip Mr. Hamm.
He was an amazing guitarist with so much talent. I love his expressiveness and comedic delivery.
