I used the bobber and tiny, tiny jig (panfish magnet) set up on my UL and went from catching no fish this winter to 5 crappie in 15 minutes! Thanks Richard! WOOOO

Love your content. I used to do a lot of crappie fishing during my childhood with my friends and their Fathers who would take me along. Loved every minute fishing with them, never wanted it to end. That was a long time ago. Watching this makes me want to go fishing again.

Went out and took a look at some of my spots today, all walkable ice is gone here in south Michigan. New trees in the water, we had a bad ice storm last week new spots to fish coming up. Nice catch Richard👍

Love your content!! I look forward to each video. I would like to comment on the size 8 hook. I have found that many times, the crappie will swallow it when they are aggressively feeding. As a result, you may have to keep some fish you didn’t intend to keep or they will die when released. Just my two cents.

Great video as always Mr Gene. Could you do a video of the best floats to use for different applications? I usually use a plastic Mr crappie float but it just makes a loud splash on the cast, which I’m sure scares the fish reducing my chances of catching them. I really would appreciate the video.

Richard Gene myself and my 2 sons enjoy every one of your videos, yourself and learning new tips and techniques, having been watching for quite sometime now I know it’ would be a long shot and probably get asked a thousand times a day but if one day we could have the opportunity to fish with you would mean the world to us, we fish black warrior river, lake Tuscaloosa, and occasionally pickwick which is my favorite place of all time to go. Not trying to hound or bother you but if at all possible it could happen it would mean the world to my sons.

Richard…. Due to your videos, I caught my first crappie with lures instead of live minnows. Using just your method described here just the other day I was catching. The fish inhaled the lure. When I was trying to remove the jig, the fish jerked to where it removed its own eye! I was stunned. I did not kill it because it was alive and not gut hooked, so I released it. I watched it flounder around listing to the side of the missing eye for about 10 minutes. Then it seemed to find its orientation and disappeared. This may be a dumb question, but do you think the eye will grow back?
