      An ER Doc told me Sept 5, 2014 that the combination of my heart (history of Afib), my blood and alcohol was possibly a toxic mix. I quit alcohol, soda and coffee on the spot. I’ve had some soda, some decaf coffee and non alcoholic beer and wine since but no booze. Thankfully I wasn’t an alcoholic and drank sporadically prior to quitting. My highest encouragement to all of you brave enough to quit that which kills us.

    I believe the grub part of a beetle spin was the first artificial lure I ever used… It was the most god awful gaudy green color you’ve ever seen and the water was clear as bath water… But I found it laying on the bank and hooked it on probably a size 4 Aberdeen hook and I was reeling it just right above the submerged grass and they ate it up…😂 I’ve been hooked on bass fishing ever since… lol Now I’ve got a ton of fishing stuff and target several different species of fish… I’m like you, if it’s got eyes and a tail it’s a goodun to me…😆

  • @ut000bs
    @ut000bs Год назад +1

    That first fish was a ditch pickle. I heard someone call a little largemouth that and I bout died laughing. lol
    My favorite was a small 1" Beetle Spin in Catawba worm color that was black with a chartreuse stripe down the top on both sides. Off the shelf. I never thought big bluegill could resist that bait. I mean I caught untold numbers of "Theyyyy…" inducing sunfish. I'm dating myself but that was in the late 1970s on the lakes in East Tennessee.
    It was good times.
    I'm pleased to be the one to notice you had stopped smoking. I couldn't help noticing the chewing gum and I can do math. (2 + 2 = Richard stopped smoking) ‍🙂
    Richard, thank you so much for all you do. 🖖‍

    Of course, brother, I caught several fish tonight using my go to rig with nightcrawlers. 7 inch leader with a size 1 baitholder hook tied to lead line. A split shot 1/4 inch above where leader is tied to main line. Letting line settle after cast. Popping rod tip letting it settle after each pop. This rig gets crushed by fish. High tide came into the river and afterwards caught a ton of fish 😊

    I bought 75 of the spinners for like $6 a few years ago and some packs of Colorado,Willow,French,Indiana (and have an idea for propeller blades I'm going to try) blades in sizes 00,0,1,and 2 in nickle and brass both smooth and hammered.I made up a bunch instead of doing what I used to for years,swapping the spinners from jig to jig.I'm going to be ordering more here pretty directly and more blades then powder paint the blades different colors.I also use them on Roadrunners to add a 2nd blade...
    I also pour,paint,and tie my own Crappie Spinnerbaits and I do all my jigs (same as spinnerbaits for Bass but smaller). Sort of like these better but they're a lot more time consuming to make.
    Different blades also require different retrieve speeds to have them spin.A Colorado blade is the slowest with the Willow the fastest.It's not a big difference but there is a difference.Also the amount of lift a jig has when a blade is spinning is different between the types of blades too,Colorado has more lift and a Willow the least.Same goes for the fall rate. A Indiana falls between them in all categories.

      Just remove them,you can either remove them completely or just cut off 1 or 2 of the bends.If you remove them completely you can use split rings to add a small single trailer hook. Because it's not on the shelf doesn't mean it can't be made nor work.

    Richard, Hang in there on trying to give up smoking. I know how difficult it can be. I just took it one day at a time. After about six weeks it became a whole lot easier due to the fact that I started to realize how badly they smelled. It's been 16 years now since I quit and that was after smoking approximately 2 packs a day for 38 years. Keep it going. Bye the way love the videos and your wisdom.
