Mean Gene. I have been watching fishing on RUclips for probably 6 years and have just stumbled into your channel. I have been missing out! Your videos are awesome. I won’t stop until I’ve watched em all! Can’t wait for spring in MN. Tight lines!
MR. Richard Gene thank you for all the great crappie videos! My wife and I enjoy a crappie dinner quite often and you know what that means- you got to catch a few fish. Well, I have watched a bunch of your videos and it has helped me greatly. The catch rate has gone up a lot for me and I haven't had to buy a minnow all summer! Thanks again.
The best tip I’ve ever got in fishing in all my 25/30 years of fishing, from this channel. I’ve always bass fished for all my years. Started serous around 17yrs old and Tournament fished for 8 / 10 years in locals. And than got into big blue cats for the last decade. But last few years I started crappie fishing, with my first year being a fail, but I love it now that I’m older (almost 40) and man after I found Richard on RUclips (im RUclips as well) I started fishing with long light tackle and it is more addictive than any drug could ever be. My 2nd year Id crappie fishing thabks to the machine had been a success! That’s a rush when that 3lb slab tags that minner on 2lb line. And you can catch 50 in a day back to back. Don’t get wrong I still bass fish and I still blue cat. And I’ll always fish for saltwater striped bass (they’re in the tenn river) and they’re a blast to catch too. But this fall I’m catfishing giant blues and giant slab crappie. I’m putting bass and stripers on the back burner until spring.
Hands down my biggest crappie color in clear or dirty water is the live minnow from Bobby garland. Everything eats that color I’ve caught walleye, smallmouth, largemouth, pike, musky, temperate bass and bluegill. Crazy good color with the little bit of purple and silver color shift. Str8 🔥
I'd love to see a video explaining how you use your depth finder to get on the fish. Most videos you are already at the spot you're going to fish. Would love to see what you do that leads up to that. Love the videos God bless.
Man I love it when your videos come in. Thank you again Richard for taking us with you. You are blessed with your talent and share with us, which blesses us. God bless you brother and your family and have a blessed day.
I about gave up on crappie fishing until I watched your video. I need more practice with my fish finder, and I like when you show what you are seeing on yours. Great video, keep them coming!
Was catching off the bottom the other day here in Michigan. No shad here but they were full of mayfly nymphs. There is emerald shiners and fathead minnows, sometimes they’re following them👍
I practically give up crappie fishing in the summer because I’m a bank fisherman and they simply just aren’t there….couldn’t tell you how many times I went out this summer and didn’t catch squat. Next month in October they should be much easier to catch from the bank as they have moved towards the shore, I do well in the fall!
Thank you Richard for being so gracious to share your talent freely with us. I am new to crappie fishing and I am learning so much from you. Please keep up the good work and may bless you, and your family. I am in the process of buying my first Kayak to fish for crappie from and your videos have been very helpful.
I could watch you fishing all day long. I love your channel and I'm a huge fan and always looking forward to seeing more. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Hey Richard, I'm 26 and this summer was the first summer i went fishing in all my life thanks for all the tips you give out as i never was taught fishing growing up
Richard, i been fishing almost 50 years, i even have my own youtube channel. i'm embarrassed to say i didnt know the difference between white and black crappie, i always just thought the black was just darker. i really learned something today. Thank you - Jeff
Another good video where I learn a great deal about crappie fishing it has been awhile since I have fished for them because I never caught anything but because of you I am going to give it another try God bless you and yours Richard Gene the master of all things crappie.
Thanks Richard for the Word of the Lord. Out of the blue when I needed some guidance. You Say follow him and live by his teachings. I needed that. Thanks and keep up the great work!
This is my go to channel to learn and improve my fishing skills! Absolutely love it! You sir have inspired me to start my own channel! Thank you and I Can't wait for the next video!
Richard, I have watched probably all of your videos for the past 4-5 years and I want to thank you for everyone. I love the tips that you share and today, I have a tip that I just ran across to share with you on how to tie fluorocarbon to braid. You may be familiar with this knot but you haven’t mentioned it or showed us how to tie it. It is the red Phillips knot and it is so easy to tie that I got it perfect on my second try. It is the smallest knot ever and that joins fluorocarbon to braid. It is an overhand knot on the leader and a single uniknot knot on the braid. You can view it on RUclips
Richard, you’re the best. Thanks for showing me how to tie a weedless jig head… I’m taking it further and tying my own hair jigs now, weedless with a rattle. Would love to send you a few…
Tough conditions, and The machine comes through. I think that following the bait (shad) as Richard has stated many times is key, but this was just tough conditions and I guess patience is really the hardest thing to learn.
You been catching crappie all summer no bream or shell cracker.. a little disappointed so when winter comes i guess it will be more crappie fishing😞.I still love your channel
Caught my first crappie last week. First thing I said, “Well this fishing is a sport that is second to none!”

Yeah, you can't beat the "Thump" when fishing for Crappie!

@@piff-qk6dc from the bank??? Follow the birds and structure??? Come on now man!
If you fish a lake and have large bridge pillers fish them in the summer I've had decent luck there in the pass. But I feel your struggle bud
I agree I’m a bank fisherman also it’s been rough
