As a fellow 04 950 adv owner..i'm so happy finally the project is done..been so patient waiting for this series to continued..enjoy the bike brother!abuse it! massive Love from indonesia ❤️
Chris, you remind me so much of a long lost friend also as mad on bikes as you are. The looks, the attitude, everything. I love your vids mate, keeps things alive 👌💕👍
An epic cult machine made even better. Looks and sounds amazing. Lucky me - I´ve got one sitting right here in my office - now I just need to get to work 🙂
Enjoy the fruits of your labour great to watch and inspire others to think outside the box with older stuff lying around possibly creating a bike they will keep and enjoy ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️from Northern Ireland great video
the original twin cans look better than that single can ! and i bet the twin cans sound so much better! mine sounds wick with twin akras and baffles in the bin, great vid btw.
I do love the look of the twin pipes, but for me I was trying to lose weight and add power - the straighter exhaust run should help the latter and the single can for the former. Plus it looks more like a Dakar bike now which makes me happy.
It might have taken a long time to get it finished but the time spent on it has certainly paid off, that looks and sounds amazing. At 6'5 that would suit my height but it would absolutely terrify me, its insane.
I think a 950 will be my next bike. I have had a 640A forever. And always lusted for a 950. I think instead of getting a one of the new ones I would probably have more fun getting one of these old ones and making it the way I want it and offroading the shit out of it.
@@chrisnorthover7582 don't blame you Chris, building a 790 now and just bought wp Xplorer pro, wait for it £4400 but managed to get a 15% discount from ams , btw I enjoy your reviews , you can ride a bit also which helps 👍
I'll have a look at that. Got a stock bashplate painted with raptorcoat at the moment. RHS cover is missing in the vid as I've got to modify it to clear the GPR but I'll take a look at the 4k, cheers.
Lovely job dude 👍😊 I would never sell it mate, you’ll regret it everyone who dose always wants another 🤷♂️ Loved my 950 super enduro and regretted letting it go, my 990 is awesome but carbs would be way more smoother. Well done, great build 🤙
Thanks, you're probably right - I was all up for selling before I rode it but now I'm not so sure! It's the opportunity for the next build and some new machine tools for the workshop that's tempting me...
Thanks dude! 300mm travel at the front and 275mm travel at the rear, bike's attitude stays close to stock as the fork uppers are a little shorter (which does mean front wheel clearance to the front cylinder on full compression is a little tighter).
Stock gearing on the front at the moment but thinking I'll go up 3 or so teeth on the back, same deal as -1 on the front but gives a bit more clearance between the chain and the swingarm now the travel is longer.
Could we get a longer "raw" footage video? 🥺 This thing sounds amazing! I can think of a fellow by the name of Ivan Boano that might be ableto do something interesting with it, youtube him 😉
If it is a dedicated off road bike, why did you not just use a motocross bike to start with? to me, adventure bikes are built to go on and off road. just curious as to your thought process. thanks.
This will last more hours between rebuilds because its less stressed. (Hopefully) Well it should go for longer than my KX450f for instance, before you have to worry.
It's a good point, I guess the reason was because I loved the feel of the 950 to start with and wanted to unleash more of that performance for longer distance off road. I love a motocross bike, I love an enduro bike, but there's something about riding a 100bhp-plus big dirt bike off road that gives me an extra buzz.
That's something we've talked about quite a lot. We did a retro vs modern with the original bike and a KTM 790 Adventure for Brake Magazine before the project started, so it would be cool to revisit that now the 950 has changed so much.
Well done! The soul of that LC8 motor is addictive.

Love this bike Chris. Bring it on the Sardinia Swank rally in September! See you on the dirt soon buddy SIMEON
Chris, I don't know you personally, but you are giving me so many positive vibes! Greetings from Greece.
Love it! I miss my 990, it was like a trophy truck on 2 wheels! 16-46 gearing is awesome!
1:21 "Look at this. This is Chris's happy face." As if he has any other face than those always grinning, giddy, giggly happy faces.
Well done, Chris - the bike is a peach.
Loved watching this series come to fruition.
Awesome ! Can't wait to get mine finished and into the fields again soon !

This bike was made for my country, NZ, lets ride, stay safe. Happy new fear ! .

Chris, get it to Sublime Designs for a full wrap to make it look as good it is mechanically. Mega bike and mega riding!
"Chris's HappyFace" 🤪😇 lol. Thanks for the fun Chris.
needs a decal kit. crsiydesigns is your man!
Finished at last and what a superb result!..well done Chris for perfecting the best adventure bike ever..

Nice work Chris ! Looks like you had a blast ....
Looks amazing (I love de-badged white and black). When it rides as good as it looks, you've done it right - congrats.
Well done Chris and all of those who worked on the bike, I wish I had half the talent of you. 🍻
This is a fantastic build and episodes what a great homage to a fantastic bike
Saw the drag race and was drooling over that beauty... always liked the in your face looks of the big KTM.
IMO it needs some stickercharging...
There's a good chance that that's the best adventure bike ktm have made..
Ah man, Chris. Just fucking A. That is so amazing. That is such a dream machine and I couldn't be happier for you.
It might have taken a long time to get it finished but the time spent on it has certainly paid off, that looks and sounds amazing. At 6'5 that would suit my height but it would absolutely terrify me, its insane.
Another great video and very interesting project. The enthusiasm for ragging bikes of any kind is so refreshing.

Bike looks and sounds amazing. Good job man!
Love it. Needs some wild paint now!
It’s awesome! I think a proper paint job is meeded
Sweet 👌
Thank goodness the drone was a small one. I've almost been hit by the huge pro drones twice. Once in the air! 😂
proper way to ride that bike. kudos
I miss my 990... Cant wait for the winter to finally end
"RALLY DEATH MSCHINE"... good description
Graphics in British style and 15/45 teeth would make the bike perfect.
This bike is glorious
It looks so good in white
So cool !! 🤪
What've you done to the rear panel/fender ?
Thanks
Give it a go on a 1/2 flat track.
Great job👍 Lovely sound. My 1190 is hiding in the corner😉
Just on the looks department this bike ir gorgeous
Awesome Chris 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🥰🥰🥰🥰🤟🤟🤘🤘😃
Congrats!
Cone valve? Get it up to sweet lamb in the summer march is booked up, another two events in the summer
Didn't quite go the full hog with cone valves, but to be fair, these closed cartridge forks are a huge improvement over stock anyway.

Brilliant, it looks amazing and my god, your riding!
Chris, you rock!!! That thing is amazing. . . . Can you tell me what front fender that is?
Love your stuff. . .the best out there. Thanks!
Slow reply, sorry! Front fender is off a 2012 KTM 450 RR
I used to love my stock 950 Adventure. I couldn't ride it like Chris rides his, though.
I desperately wish WP had better distribution here in the states, because they are obviously top-of-the-line. Every bit as good as K-Tech and Öhlins
Great result Chris. Have you got a bash plate on that? I'd recommend the 4KParti, good for the new exhaust too.
I'll have a look at that. Got a stock bashplate painted with raptorcoat at the moment. RHS cover is missing in the vid as I've got to modify it to clear the GPR but I'll take a look at the 4k, cheers.
Helluva lot better looking than the new stuff....
Great fun machine!!
Awesome, looks fun… Just needs some stickers like LCR and 44teeth 😇
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it 🤷

Hi Chris, TOP bike. I own too an 2005 950ADV and I perfectly understand your happiness riding this bike. Which tyres are you using?
Very nice !!!
amazing !! well done
may I ask which body kit this is? Very nice build
Special machine indeed. 👍
Love it man 😍💕😍
Hooo hooo 💪💪👍 Amazing video 👌 Greetings from Germany!
Awesome job ! Sticker kit?
Nice to hear one's finished Chris 😂😂 get it up Walters this year and challenge the hawk to his title in the 24 hour race 😜
Sticker bomb !
Brilliant!
Looks fantastic
Loooove my 950 Adv S 😎💪
Awesome bud 👍🏻
1:08 lol didn’t I say I was waiting this on the video vs. the FTR? 🤣
nice lots fun
More of this please 🙏
Absolutely awesome bike! How long suspension travel did you end up with?
Thanks dude! 300mm travel at the front and 275mm travel at the rear, bike's attitude stays close to stock as the fork uppers are a little shorter (which does mean front wheel clearance to the front cylinder on full compression is a little tighter).
Hey Chris, you've inspired me to do something with my old 990 sat in the garage. What suspension did you fit?
Truly beautiful
I too want a goggle eyed white death rally machine! 😥
Did the 950 eventually go to its new home?
If anyone would know which aftermarket tail is fitted on the 950, I'd be very grateful! All the best!
It's an Acerbis universal enduro rear light. Had to cut it to fit around the subframe but works well.
Very swish! loving that long pipe-very torquey! 16 teeth on the front?
Stock gearing on the front at the moment but thinking I'll go up 3 or so teeth on the back, same deal as -1 on the front but gives a bit more clearance between the chain and the swingarm now the travel is longer.
Super!
Are you thinking about handguards?
What is the manufacturer of the front fender?
desert x and lucky explorer 9.5 should be this good
Love the old girl.
Paint it !
Beautiful amazing fabulous
Dawn till dusk ???

2 years and we never heard of it again
@@Backhurtsbad this was meant to be the last vid in the series, Chris still has the bike, looks very cool now it’s finished. Stay tuned for an update.
What happened to this bike?
Do you have a complete parts list you used?
@@bigbigmen9 Chris still has it, we’ll ask him.
Is there a place where we can find the specs of this awesome bike?
Weight 201kg with full tank of fuel, power tbc once we get to a dyno but should be around 115 -120 bhp
It definitely needs a Redbull sticker kit to do it justice Chris because right now it looks like Satan's Tupperware! 😈 Awesome looking Rally build 👌

There's no motocross bike with 100hp at the wheel, not even close.
@@nikos-giorgos correct, but they also weigh a lot less. I was just curious as to his thought process.
@@kmc7355 makes sense. just watch a video about service intervals between street and dirt bike engines. and that is a definite factor.

We'll find out for you.
@@BikeWorldTVshow Thank you
😜😜What model of front fender is this?
It's the low fender off a 2012-era KTM 450 RR

We'll ask Chris for you.
Any chance of it coming up for sale ?
Up for debate at the moment. Heart says no, but the next project and needing a new lathe say yes!
