Fantastic job! I like how you let the film tell the story versus a bunch of narration. When I was a kid, I HATED this movie because there was no Michael Myers, and now at 40 years old it's one of my favorites. Looks like I need to make it out there and see this factory before it's gone.
One of my favorite movies ever. Thanks for the video. Love the editing, back-and-forth between the movie and your shots. Also, including the score, which is legendary. Halloween 3 was pretty creepy. At first i didn't understand why it wasn't about Michael Myers. I like the current locations, it looks very quiet there. What I most enjoy about horror movies is those isolated, creepy looking locations.
Absolutely fantastic video. My wife and I live in Florida. This has been one of my favorite movies for decades and an absolute bucket list item. We made it out there a few years ago and I can say 1000% the actual town is every bit as creepy as the movie. We felt like we were in a fish bowl Great video and thanks so much for posting.
I live about a half-hour north of Loleta. Many years ago, I worked for a rental property management company, and the apartments that were the hotel in SOTW were among the properties I managed. The building is dope, you get inside of it through the basement it’s been abandoned for a long time, based on the conditions inside of it I do not imagine anyone in their right mind would ever buy it. But all the machinery is still inside of there and it’s really cool inside.
This is awesome!!! I watched this movie in the theater. One of my favorites in the series. Sad to see how deteriorated the buildings have become!!!! Thx for the great memories!!

I know there a lot of people selling pieces of the bricks from the factory building online. As crazy as it sounds growing up I always wanted to have the factory preserved somehow to look like it was in the movie. Even if it were just exteriors. I always felt this movie was really breaking new boundaries in the early 1980s. There’s just so many layers to the story versus the Michael Myers storyline that has basically one story line pretty much.
@@jntipton and our reality is just watching your video. I get impression that that area is not seen any attention to it since the filming of that movie.

I lived in Lolita when Halloween 3 was being filmed, and lived at the apartment the people were staying at in the movie, but the inside apartment scenes were filmed in Los Angeles, wat a cool time to live there, wonderful town and people
Always loved this movie despite many haters. Halloween fans were expecting Michael Myers, as was I actually. I was a bit disappointed but really enjoyed the film. Many years later and many views later, It's one of my favorites. It's creepy and sinister. If the producers simply called the movie "Season Of The Witch" it would have been received much better and not confused with a third installment of a Michael Myers Halloween. Regardless, It's a classic. Thanks for your time and effort documenting this before and after video.
Absolutely 100% agree with you!! I wish they just went with that title! Sorry for the delayed response, I usually reply much faster. Thanks for checking it out and dropping the comment!
What I don’t understand is that there was no indication whatsoever that MM would even be in this movie just by watching the tv spot or theatrical trailer.
This was awesome. I was shocked to see some of the smaller details still there, like the odd wood picket fence around the yard, and the two story shot framed up with practically the exact same compact pickup truck. Did you stay the night? I would have had a panic attack.
THIS WAS AWESOME. I'M SO GLAD I'M ALIVE TO HAVE WITNESSED IT. MAN THIS TAKES ME BACK! GOOD JOB! HALLOWEEN 3 WAS THE BEST IN MY OPINION! I GOT SICK OF MICHAEL MEYERS! THIS FILM STOOD OUT ABOVE THE REST!

Jared..... this is amazing! I've wanted to visit this place for years (decades, really). But my job has kept me living overseas for those same decades. When I get 'home' to the USA, I'm usually booked with family & friend visits. This summer, however, I'd like to finally do it. Life is short. My question is: Did you meet with any resistance visiting and taking video of the town? Did anybody give you a hard time while you were exploring the factory and such? I've heard that Loleta can be a bit 'closed off' just like the movie. :-D Wondering if you noticed any of that. Thanks so much for any input!
Fantastic Faroche! Do it! I personally did not run into issues - but another individual I ran into said that he did have someone yell at him for going behind the factory, which is all fenced in now. The folks in town seemed quiet and kept to themselves while there. It is DEFINITELY an intriguing little town that remains caught in time - almost exactly as it was in the film!
