      I thought he was "fine"; not bad, but not someone that blew me away. He was a bit like a sort of Burt Reynolds-y and the woman (I want to say "Ellie") was a bit flashdance-y and again struck me as competent but not breathtaking

      Such a wonderful man. He sounds like a great person. What s great man. No ego. This movie I think really was much better than advertised. It wasn't supposed to be taken too seriously. It's called camp. There's a lot of camp in the movie. It's supposed to be fun. If you aren't having fun then it's not being told correctly. I thought it was fun.. I liked it

As much as I love the Meyers flix an Jason or Kruger, this movies music an storyline had that mysteriousness about it that drug you in just like the tv commercial in the movie did to the people that made it great. Plus I felt it added more of that ancient time ritual where halloween came from with ancient celtic ritual an the boulder from Stonehenge an those silver shamrock mask an what not that gave more credence to a good Halloween movie.

    You never see anyone comment on Dean Cundey’s cinematography, which is very dark and moody, and on par with some of the greatest work he did with Carpenter. The use of shadows is very similar to what he did for The Thing. Even if some people have issues with the storyline (I don’t), it’s a very beautifully made horror film.

    Halloween 3 is criminally underrated and one of my favorites in the franchise.
    As much as I love Michael Myers, the idea of an anthology series of Halloween-themed horror films with a different story, characters, etc. had the potential to be a success. The problem was the title included the number, indicating that it's a sequel to the other films even though it's not. I think they should have re-titled Halloween 3 to something like "Halloween: Season of the Witch" or maybe "Season of the Witch: A Halloween Story" and continued making those anthology films while still doing the Michael Myers movies. Then they could have made more money off of the franchise by doing it both ways.

    • @anthonyyoutubefan7567
      @anthonyyoutubefan7567 5 лет назад +2

      @@onesixthmania7293 -- Carpenter and Hill & Company had a list of potential Halloween-themed tales. The next one was supposed to be a ghost story. I really hope that tale is still sitting in a file somewhere, and, now that Halloween (2018) is a blockbuster holiday hit, Universal/Miramax/Blumhouse will collaborate on creating the anthology films, picking up where SOTW left off in 1982. Hey, a great idea would be to make the ghost story tale, and set it in the mid-1980s...this way, you get great '80s nostalgia (a big ticket item in the 21st Century, of late) w/ a brand new tale being told in the classic modern heyday of American/British Horror antiheroes, like Michael, Jason, Freddy, and Pinhead.

    "The decision not to use the Michael Myers character was stupid."
    No.
    It was ORIGINAL and DARING, it was creative and a REASON to make more Halloween themed films.
    Carpenter himself has stated that he saw NO reason for a third Myers film, as they would just be repetitive ...the notion of a different Halloween THEMED horror film every time they did a new one was too smart and offbeat for mainstream audiences.
    The decision TO return to Myersville was purely based in profit, nothing else.
    Creativity and being fresh had nothin' to do with THAT.
    And the movie didn't end happily...it's a HORROR picture...;)

      The decision to have Michael Myers survive, by being found by a homeless man who cared for him by not giving him food or drink for a year, and obviously no IV unit, was stupid:
      *YES*
      The decision to elevate Michael Myers from someone who simply kills with no motive, to being controlled by a fucking satantic cult, was stupid: *YES*
      The decision to ruin the ending of H20, by having Michael Myers inexplicably trade places with a paramedic was stupid:
